Xenos Pyre
Xenos' golden hues followed the hooded figure until she was out of sight, his attention darting back between the remaining two as they interacted. The weather outside must have cleared up a bit; because Xenos' eyes fluttered in attempts to shield themselves from the suns rays as they beamed through the windows just behind Iesteth. The half-elf before him glowed an even brighter snow white than before. If Hunslaus wasn't there to distract him, the dark elf might not have been able to take his eyes off her. He let out a small huff as Hunslaus' hand made contact with his back. The action seemed to knock some sense back into him, his figure opening up a bit to their conversation. "I don't mind," he muttered, scanning the other elf from head to toe once more. He noted a hint of shyness about her as she waved at him - the first time she seemed to acknowledge his presence fully. He accepted the gesture by doing the same, his hand lifting in a casual motion. He supposed one more companion on the road wouldn't hurt.

Xenos gave a simple nod at Hunslaus' look of confirmation. Kadavul was a soul with many talents, alchemy certainly being one of them. The elf's pointed ears curled up at the sound of Iesteth agreeing to the offer - perhaps it was because he was delighted they would be on their way soon... or was there a hint of something else, too? Either way, Xenos wanted to get to Kadavul as soon as possible; that way he could finally finish the potion he had been working on. The dark elf nodded his head in proper greeting as the other gave them her name. "A pleasure to meet your acquaintance, Iesteth," his voice was gentle as he spoke, like any other elf, yet held a raspy tinge to it - as if a scaled beast was trapped somewhere deep within him.

It was clear that this was no longer the time to be simply walking. A huge creature had assaulted their party, but fortunately three of them hadn't been noticed yet. Forming her blood red wings, Lilit flew forward to get a better angle from which to attack.

There was no time wasted in the vampire-like woman's response. The full force of her energy drain directed itself at the attacking wizard, sucking away his energy while empowering Lilit herself. Not satisfied with just that, Lilit also followed up further and raised her right hand, crimson energy gathering within her palm. Her energy magic made use of her own energy, which in turn was supplied by the energy she drained. The force of the surrounding forest and the wizard himself fueling her attack, Lilit fired a blood red wave of magic at the wizard.

The sun finally sets in the horizon. Not even a hue of the star tinges the sky now, as the dark is only penetrated by the distant stars, and the glow of the moon. Miyarkus peers down the open window to search for the commotion. In no time at all, the tree from earlier attempts to lumber after the three of his remaining friends as they attack the giant piece of wood and the crazed wizard from earlier. Speaking of the wizard, Lilit is making short work of them, halting his ability to cast magical abilities, and added with a powerful magic attack from the crimson lady. It was all he could do to nullify the attack, but still the pain was too much, and he subsequently fainted. They probably did not expect to find so many adventurers at once, and those with magic.

The treant threw a gigantic log at one of his companions, but Miyarkus did not stop to watch when a gigantic trident pierced from where his head was a few seconds ago before he bent over to watch the scene below. Miyarkus knew on instinct not to turn back yet and assess the situation he was in himself, but to keep a distance away from his pursuer. However, it got to the dragonkin that this could very well make him end up a corpse if he's in the wrong place at the wrong time.

With a quick downward swerve, Miyarkus attempts to shuffle to a proper position away from the attacker, and managed to do so before the same trident managed to poke him, but not deep enough to puncture him. Miyarkus moves away much more, still not facing his attacker, then when he felt like they were far enough, Miyarkus spun around. It appears to be a powerful man, but red-skinned and has horns. They were armor and wings much larger than Miyarkus', allowing them to fly, which was what they were doing right now. Miyarkus panics as the greater demon strikes true, barely producing flames as sparks appear instead, but this was enough to scare his attacker. The opponent doesn't know Miyarkus' arsenal, so they seem to be more careful. Miyarkus gets a good glance across the room as the demon stays still. Olivia has passed out, looking more paler than she was, and the summoning circle dimly glows some shades of violet. It appears to have been activated, but not enough time for Miyarkus to figure out how.

Miyarkus speeds down the stairs, as he miraculously finds it behind whilst feeling the wall on his back. Terrified, the dragonkin takes two, three, then four steps at a time in the tall tower, before subsequently and comically sliding and tumbling down upon it after a wrong step halfway through. This was definitely a faster manuever, right? The demon was out of sight for now, and with the second winds flowing, Miyarkus actively stands up and goes outside whilst massaging his head that hit the stairs a few times, not daring to look at the passed-out wizard from earlier beside the door frame. They were busy here, the trio, and are still trying to take down the treant. Miyarkus calls quietly, then sends a carpet of flames to attempt to blanket the monstrosity. Miyarkus missed by inches, covering the ground beside it instead. Miyarkus continues to channel at what seems to be behind most of the group outside.

"Is everyone alright?! There's still a dangerous enemy up the tower, and--" then suddenly, one can see red eyes piercing through the top of the tower, and without needing to wonder, Miyarkus spots the demon from earlier swoop in to the battlefield as well, heading straight for his original target, the dragonkin.

Hunslaus Heinrich Visscher
Hunslaus' brow furrowed, a question thrashing on his tongue as the hooded stranger left with her obscure comment. He wasn't quite sure in any manner whether it was meant to threaten him or given in a genuine warning through concern. The paladin put it to the back of his mind, driving off the strange sensation settling in his chest as he returned his attention to the pale woman and scaled boy. Or perhaps un-boy, he wasn't sure about elves and their ages, it wasn't something he liked guessing. They seemed to stand solidly against the marching of time and the greys of their hair would most likely never appear in his lifetime if he were to befriend one of the graceful, humanoid creatures. Nay, one day he'd be buried six feet under the ruins of a battlefield or found dead with hair whiter than snow and a face of hard lines. But humanity, as fragile as it was in this fashion, was something he was inclined to believe beautiful.

Visscher, upon the thanks of Ieseth, gave another small bow. "It's a pleasure to have you join us, even if it be a short errand. Yet the weather looks to be a clear night, my lady, you might live out the desire to see the stars -- I find them to be ... quite beautiful, if you are to stand on the shore with the sea." Hun gave a lesser smile, curving the corners of his lips and leaving little else between them but distant thought. "You flatter me, Miss Ieseth. But I implore you call me Hun, my name is oft a mouthful -- a Northern custom I believe." The holy knight suddenly adjusted, looking further to Xenos. "Our small party is ready then! You know the way, a defacto leader if ever there was one." Visscher commented, moving around his acquaintances to reach the inn door and swing it open. He held it there, beckoning the others to pass over the threshold and into the street. "If we remain any longer, we'll be back after nightfall." He joked in good humour, corners of his eyes again creasing with a budding familiarity. His expressions never strayed far from optimistic warmth and comedy, save for the sincerity of what befell the good citizens here and there.

He'd seen his fair share of children stolen by the Hidden Folk, wives murdering husbands in fits of possession, dear friends beat into submission of a fervent dark disease. Such was the life of a clergyman, being hope where people oft had none. Travelling, sent on pilgrimage, employed and passed gold that he felt there was no right in taking. Yet if it was spare, one needed to remember that even the holy men had to find a way to keep themselves fed.

The day in Vegera was passing by quickly. Seagulls called out in the sky, People came in and went, bought their spells books and bid Celeste a good day. Some younger ones had questions about certain incantations that day but other than that it seemed pretty...normal. Which was absolutely great! Just another day, keeping up the shop, feeding the cat and petting it during the slow times. She was already half way through Water to Ice Vol 1. It would be great to switch the practice she had with water magic with ice. It didn't seem to hard as she read through the book. Putting it to practice would be harder. But if she could read through it first it would make it easier for her to understand when doing the spells herself later.

"Hmmm...Nila think we have Volume 2 in here? maybe i should set it aside and put it back after I've gotten to it myself." The woman chuckled at the feline. Nila had simply stayed seated on the counter looking at Celeste indifferently. Meowing in a demanding tone twice and when nothing was done twice more. "You're lucky you're cute." a chuckled escaped her as she pet the cat again. Nila seems satisfied with the attention now. "Think we'll get anyone else in today ?" The cat did not answer. Celeste looked out the windows and towards the street content with the day so far. [div class="Line"][/div] Interacting: N/A | Tags: Soma Schicksal Soma Schicksal | Located: Book o' Spells in Vegara. Another day in Vegera and a very beautiful one to be honest. Maybe today he would go wander around the market for some food and maybe some things for combat. He went over and kissed his sister on the cheek before leaving and heading out, he grabbed his shopping outfit and daggers before making his way around Vegera, he bought some supplies like he promised his sister and even bought her a new dress to wear. Now it was time to get some stuff for himself...maybe something to better his combat capabilities. He looked around carefully before smiling. "Well bless the heavens...what do you know a spell bookshop." he made his way over and noticed a green haired girl looking somewhat bored with a cat by her side, she seemed to be in charge of the shop. He booped her nose happily and smiled more. "Don't look so down beautiful!" He smiled. "You got any good spell books for sale?" He asked, it would be a win-win since her business seemed to be going a little slow at the moment and she had the goods he may have been looking for.

"Sort of yes." Bethethel told him. Her thoughts were abruptly interrupted by a stranger bopping her nose. In response it wrinkled up as she looked at him. Though his words ironed them out. Nila looked at the stranger, silently judging him with her unamused expression. Celeste just gave a small smile, trying not to get flustered. "Well I do carry many books crossing all the seven seas of magic." Her hands aid folded on top the counter, her head tilted to the side as the small mile turned to a proud grin. "And I myself am a Mage and am qualified to give a little lesson out the book of you're choosing if need be. Beginners usually like to see the spell done right for reference." Plus part of her liked to show off. Usually simple spells were easy to do right once if she read the first few pages. It was helpful to the younger aspiring mages that came by.

This stranger seemed to be more of a fighter than a mage, but hey! Don't judge a book by its cover Celeste, hahaha. Book humor. No he might as well have a lot of knowledge on magic any ways. It wasn't up to her what sort of book or spells he was capable of. Maybe she can convince him to get a whole series, that would make her day. He did seem like he could be a traveler. Time to pitch the sale. "We also have sets of books, for those wanting to truly master a field of spells its good to have during travels or perhaps just to have plenty to learn until you can come back again for more. I find it best to get the sets, saves you a few trips over and sometimes getting all the books at separate times takes more from the pocket." She chuckled. "What kind of magic are you looking for?" He smiled brightly at her. "Hmm, you sound very seasoned in magic Ms. Mage." He chuckled before pondering a moment at her statement of giving examples. "I'm sure glad you do have examples to show for the books, shows you actually care about your business and what you do rather than trying to sell bad books to people, I have met a few of those." he smiled. "I have to say your beauty does make your words have more effect to them, I may have to buy a set...hmm I am looking for maybe any books along the lines of Lightning, Light, or creation magic to expand my potential as a fighter." He may have seemed a bit too nice to be a fighter but that usually threw people off guard and that was a good thing in some situations. "Let's make a deal if I buy a set of books that you have we go and hang out whenever you are free and get to...know each other hehe, or as some people would say a date." He got a little closer to her, only inches away from her face but not showing any intention of kissing her.

Rubbing her mouth with the back of her hand as if to say she were satisfied by the energy she'd drained, Lilit replied, "Never better." At that moment, the flying demon came into her awareness. "Look out!" she shouted while extending out an arm to focus her next spell. Two crimson spears materialized into the air and launched to meet the demon mid-flight. While the treant was large and powerful, that made it easier to predict and evade its movements. Therefore, Lilit wanted to stop the demon's movements first before committing to taking down the treant. Her lack of elemental attacks made attacking the treant with a weakness like fire impossible anyway so that might have been best left to Miyarkus if possible.

Xenos Pyre
Xenos, imploring their leave for quite some time, perked up at Hunslaus' readily comment. It was about time they be on their way. Not that he didn't find talk of the sandy shore and starry night sky compelling (he honestly never paid them much attention.) For the Witch Doctor often found himself more interested in what's in the dirt than up in the sky. But he supposed he would be open to admiring the stars if Iesteth deemed it worthy of their time. Xenos turned to make a beeline for the door, pausing for just a moment to give thought when Hun addressed him as their 'defacto leader.' In his eyes, that title seemed much more fitting for the large Paladin. But at the moment he wouldn't disagree, seeing as he was the one who knew exactly where Kadavul would be in this time of year.

The horned elf nodded his head as Hun held the inn door open to allow him through. He chuckled lightly at his small joke "somehow I don't think Iesteth would mind waiting until nightfall," he spared the pale elf a glance of amusement "who would we be to squash her admiration of the stars?" He teased before stepping outside. There wasn't a cloud in the sky above them, which was odd for a seaside town. He blinked at the intensity of the suns rays; the golden tattoos that riddled his shoulders and traveled down the sides of his horns shimmered, reflecting the intensity of the sunlight. The busyness of the main road was beginning to die down, but there were still quite a few people out and about finishing the last of their errands. Xenos didn't waste any time, turning to head east towards the vast forest that spanned for miles in that direction. That also happened to be where Xenos liked to hold his business, but he opted not to comment about that just yet.

Occasionally, Xenos turned to look over his shoulder to insure his new found acquaintances hasn't veered off somewhere. Large trees that appeared to stretch up endlessly towards the sky began to surround the trio; their lush leaves leaving nothing but a few spots of sunslight through to dot the grassy trail. "It's easy to get lost in these parts," he commented, not speaking to anyone in particular. The dark elf kept a steady pace - that is until he spotted something of interest. The male stopped abruptly, eyeing a group of purple flowers trailing up the trunk of a tree. "Hold on," his ears flicked curiously "those might me snapdragons -" he kneeled down beside them to get a closer look "they're a natural remedy... they help with metabolism, too." He squinted as he examined them, his ears beginning to lower in disappointment "that, or they're Foxgloves, fatal to humans if ingested." He explained with a sigh, moving back to start on the trail again. "I apologize for the delay-" the dark elf paused, deciding not to finish due to another group of men coming their way.

A grumble escaled alden as he moved, barely dodging a swing of the the wooden bastard. He barely caught the shouting when he witnessed the divebombing demon, and growled.

Big monster, little monster. This was getting irritating. He had expected something more...tame...
Of course thats not what he got. But seemed they had two targets now, and both needed to slow down...or we needed an opening.

Alden ducked as another swing tore his hood back, teal fire spreading across his form. It definantly brightened up the area abit as he glowed, revealing his skull and ancient armor. He glared up at the treant as another swip caugh him, taking his feet off the ground.

Alden promptly dug his decrepic blade into the wood, holding tight as the fire began to rot at the wood, the treants arm slowly turning green as it rot away, alden hanging on as he was swung about

The night sky can barely illuminate the battlefield, the moons and the stars the only thing stopping both sides from being surprised by underhanded tactics. The demon attempts to gain height to avoid Lilit's piercing attack, succeeding to dodge the first but failing to dodge the second. The spear went through both of the demon's wings, perforating a searing, large hole on both that effectively stopped the demon's ability of flight. It stumbles to the ground, growling in pain. As it lands not-so-gracefully on the ground, it shouts a warcry and when it looked like it would attack again, the demon suddenly left sprinting in unbelievable speed, towards the woods probably to the south relative to where the group was. The trees seem to make a path for it as they sway away and the roots and twigs brush past, but almost immediately crowds again once the demon is far, so a chase was impossible.

The treant, on the other hand, was too encumbered to manage to pick Alden off its branches, opting to swing wildly so as to throw the not-so-hooded man off. Alden managed to attack it in the right spot, but is in danger of losing his grip and being tossed miles away in a speed one might not be able to survive once they crash. Miyarkus, after profusely nodding in gratitude in Lilit's direction, ran closer to the treant so as to reach it with his sorcery. At first he channels the arcane to blast the treant with, but begun to wonder if the treant was burnable, if that was a word. His hands abruptly changed from azure to amber energies, then without warning, threw a round, throwable flame towards the back of the treant, a place furthest from the hanging Alden. The treant screamed in distress, a good time as any for Alden to drop down before it swings even more wildly. Miyarkus repeatedly throws many, until the treant slowed its motions, and simply fell face-first on the ground. As it did so, it sounded exactly like a tree falling over, and the large thud it made scared and made crows flutter everywhere around the party, leaving the area. As of now, it was quiet, aside from the flying embers and a gigantic bonfire that was outside the tower Miyarkus and Alden made. Miyarkus stared at Alden silently, now that their features were more revealed without the hood. They looked significantly pale, and the blue glow Alden emits strangely looks like flames as well. How curious. It was hard to stop staring and stare in awe, but he had to get Olivia out of the tower first.

"Everyone, I left Olivia upstairs on the top of the tower unconcious, but I believe she's fine. We should carry her down..." Miyarkus says, exceedingly more exhausted than he ever had to for a lifetime. No way in a while will anyone convince him to find another summoner to pester about. It was probably safe to assume this was not a friendly visit, then. Miyarkus attempts to shamble upstairs once he had a bit of difficulty walking up the stairs, only to trip on his own to feet and almost tumbling down the stairs again. He supports himself on the wall as he made up the tower this time.

The room was different from before, however. Gone was the magic circle that gave the uneasy feeling of a dangerous encounter Miyarkus had earlier, replaced with what seems to be a strange writing, written in dark flames on the floor, but it felt cold to where Miyarkus stood instead warmth, Miyarkus fearing if he did touch it, his hand would freeze. Instead, he went around it to find Olivia, who was still unconscious on top of the pile of books. She seems to appear unharmed. After making sure, Miyarkus then gazed at the words to actually decipher with difficulty as to what it says, and, startlingly, it says the following:

"The first moon summon has been complete,
the North has been easy to defeat.
The second dawn day summon will commence at South.
Please begin within the Frawn, Festival of the Sun."
It appears to be a message of sorts indicating summoning, but Miyarkus couldn't make heads or tails with the information.

She blushed and chuckled. He wanted a date with some random spell shop owner? Well..he'd buy some books and there was a free meal out of it. financially speaking it wasn't a bad idea. Plus he was a bit cute... Though...Oh she didn't know what to say. After a moment of silence she finally answered. "Uh...yeah, deal" Celeste blushed more.

In all honesty she as not prepared for the romantic parts in life. Even something as simple as a date alluded her. There was just, never time to just sit and think about hat seriously. "Soooooo, what's your name by the way?" It'd be stupid not ot know his name at the least before committing to the deal. Xes nodded and smiled then felt a little embarrassed at not getting her name but better late than never right? "Great I look forward to the date then...and my name is Xes, it was foolish of me not to have introduced myself first. What is your name beautiful mage?" He chuckled and gathered a few gold coins from his pouch before handing it to her for the spell set he had asked for. "Oh...and when would be a good time for us to meet up for our date? I have a place in mind that we can go to as well but it is a surprise." He explained as he waited for his answers and the spell book sets.

While walking into the tower with the others, Lilit couldn't help peering at Alden. A glowing blue skull was certainly not what she'd expected to see under the cloak. However, surprises were always welcome for her. Actually that probably wasn't quite accurate, since the surprise of being attacked by the summoner and a demon wasn't all that welcome, but nevertheless. "So you were an undead," she said, "how interesting. How did you end up that way?" After asking him that brief question, they came across Olivia and the strange writing.

Although she had lived for some time and was a magic user herself, Lilit actually wasn't particularly knowledgeable when it came to magic outside of her clan's. She understood the basics and generally how it worked after all this time of course, but this inscription that appeared to be of a summoning wasn't part of that knowledge. Rather than a magical inscription, despite its magical-looking nature, the words read more like a message than a summoning ritual itself. Picking up the unconscious Olivia for now, thanks to feeling fairly empowered by all the energy she'd drained recently, the white haired woman spoke after reading over the inscription one last time.

"It says the first one here in the North was already finished, so that's what that is. But the one in the South is different. Is there a summoner in the South as well? I must admit to not having heard of such, but this certainly seems to suggest such a thing," Lilit commented.

A grumble as alden stood, bones popping in place as if muscle still held them together. He rolled his shoulders , the fire dying to whisps of smoke as he took up his blade, shiething it under his cloak. One woman, the white haired...odd how the word 'witch' came to mind. He shook his head to her question, a hand pressing to his ribs as a crack shifted one back into place.

"if I knew, I fear I wouldnt be here this day. Woke with a blade buried in my chest, in a crypt i wasnt buried in...i truly do not know how long ive been gone"

Another pop as he wrenched a second bone into its rightful place, and sighed, his glowing teal orbs reapearing in his sockets. He pulled his hood back up, and followed the group, hoisting the unconcious summoner under his arm. If the man woke, he wished to be present.

As the came to the towers peak, and the message was read, he gave a frown, eyeing the scorched words.

"the creature who fled. Could he have been the one to orchestrate the summoner's actions?...what is this 'frawn'? I dont recognize the name"

)(Hey, I'm rather new to this site but happen to be looking for a good rp, or perhaps fighters to spar with. Unsure if this post is out of line per to your guidelines as it is OOC and what not, but I would like to inquire about the rp. :3)(

"I'm Celeste, and Um... I'm..free when I close the shop." She said and smiled softly. The woman stepped from the little counter. "A surpirse, wellI hope i'll like it. There's plenty of different books sets here, which one would you prefer? You said lightning right? I...hmm." She went and looked through her shelves. "This set also has several sections on different weather phenomenon spells as well." Celeste smiles at him, a little tied up in getting him books that would be useful. The book slid off the shelf and she handed it to him, her hand brushing against his.

Miyarkus shook his head once he accepted that he couldn't put together a good assumption without procuring more information than what the message bore, but it appears his companions had some ideas. Miyarkus was unsure if their deductions were correct, shrugging whenever they ask. It still intrigues the group however about the mystery of this place. Is there indeed another summoner in the south? Frawn was not a name he was familiar with either. There were too many questions, and as the stars shine and the moon blinds, Miyarkus pointed out that they should head out of the tower soon. The group slowly glides down the stairs, carrying two of the unconscious magic users along with them.

The sun has set some time ago, but the group still found the carriage awaiting them in the seaside, the driver dozing off on the front seat, head huddled over and fumbling with their jacket. They woke up with a start as soon as his assumedly-deceased passengers returned, holding what looked like another mage captive in Alden's arms. Although they promised to leave until the sun set, their lethargy got the better of them, and since his passengers were already here, it wouldn't hurt to end the day in the nearest town and bring these lucky adventurers along.

This wasn't Vegera, but it was a comfortable inn at this obscure town nonetheless. It was called Amber Square, a small, somewhat rural town with barely a few business shops and some modest houses. A developing town. Anyway, back at the inn, the noise seems to be quite lacking. Amazingly, there seems to be no one else at the inn when the companions entered upon further inspection, aside from the innkeeper. It's the kind of inn that serves food and drink, so the main hall is littered with tables and seats. The rooms are upstairs, and the group each has a separate room after they inquire for some.

It's time to get settled down; you got the place for yourselves. Do you discuss the events that transpired, or shift to sleep?
