[Legends of the North] [Elcivar & Jiskana] The Start of a Journey

Curtains gives you an appraising look, "Just work. Summer is a good time for hunting. We'll be back within walls come winters bite. Never you fear."

"Now, conversation, I can't fault you there. Spend too much time alone or with the same man and it'll drive ya bored to tears. Since yer asking, what brings you up here? Just hunting like the rest of us, eh? No, what was it you said.. traveler? Where you headed wanderer?"

Per+Aware and Wits+Socialize please

:)
(ps if you want to move this to true social combat at any point just let me know)

Elcivar purses his lips thoughtfully, "I'm on my way to Fella, time to reconnect with some old friends I haven't seen in awhile."

"Fella, eh? Well I hope yer friends aren't in need of the local services. Good time to be a doctor that's the word from Fella I heard."

Curtains is definitely sizing you up for something.

Elcivar arches an eyebrow in interest. "It's been quite a while since I've had any reliable news. Do you have any details about what's going on in Fella?"

Curtains gives a wink, "News.. hmm.."

reflexive Per + Aware x2 difficulty 2 for each to notice the people trying to stab you in the back

Two attacks are coming at you from two different people. If you don't make the Per + Aware rolls you will need to use RST or have your DV set to 0.

Attack 1: 3 suxx

Attack 2: 3 suxx

You have a DV penalty of -1 from their coordinated attack

Also go ahead and toss out a JB roll for me

The two men with daggers whiff completely as you duck their attacks. Curtains now has a short sword in hand and is looking around for something.

Rolling to his feet Elcivar worked to keep the campfire between himself and his attackers. Without thought he found his longbow in hand, fingers moving with an unearthly surety filled the air with two humming notes.

Flurrying draw and two attacks against mook 1 and 2. Activating first Excellency for 4 and 5 motes respectively just to remove the penalties.

The first man falls with an arrow in his chest and the second gets only slightly luckier as his armor deflected it to his shoulder. As you attack you see outside the ring of firelight the fourth member of this little group being held in a headlock by an attacker from behind him. He seems to be struggling in vain to free himself when the assailant tightens the grip and he goes limp.

Curtains sees all this just as you do and drops his weapon crying out, "Traitors! How dare you!" He runs into the woods to hide.

The man with the arrow in his shoulder, Dirk, glowers at you and comes at you again with his knife, but between the arrow in his shoulder and your effortless side step he lashes harmlessly at the air.

2 suxx coming at you harmlessly...

1 - Elcivar

2 - Mystery assailant, Mook 3 (passed out)

3 - Curtains (running off)

5 - Mook 1 (bleeding out), Dirk (trying to stab you)

6 - Curtains (dashing through the woods...)

8 - Assailant

9 - Dirk, Curtains

Casually sidestepping the wounded man's swing with a raised eyebrow as if to say "really?" Elcivar looked to the mysterious figure standing over the now limp form of the bandit.

"Well this is unexpected aid, to whom do I owe thanks?"

The mysterious figure saunters out of the shadows and into the sputtering light of the campfire, shoving aside the limp bandits arm with a soft booted foot. The campfire reveals a lithe feminine figure with dusky skin, she is weaponless and dressed in well fitted, but somewhat travel worn leathers.

As she approaches, her eyes flick over to assess and dismiss the knife wielder.

"The more important question, is who are you?"

Elcivar takes a brief moment to note the beginnings of the trail left by the fleeing Curtains before responding. "Well seems like lately me introducing myself has just lead to attempted stabbings, but if you insist." Turning his attention back to woman, "As I told these sorry sacks, the name is Elcivar, out of work man-at-arms on his way to Fella."

any relevant rolls to determine anything about my new visitor?

The woman's beauty is not diminished by the worn leather outfit she wears. You notice a silvery pattern on the side of her neck that resembles large scales. The rest of her clearly speaks of southern origins, and your eyes now awakened notice tiny yellow flecks in her brown eyes.

Well now you roll crazy on a per + aware check :-P Kal feel free to correct or add anything you want.

ooc notes: appearance 4

Dirk lunges at Elcivar again with a crazy howl of rage and impotence. As you sidestep once more, he trips and falls to a gibbering heap clutching at the arrow in his shoulder.

We are effectively out of combat time.

"Good evening Elcivar," the woman replies "but as you can see, I have nothing to stab you with. You may call me Jiskana, and I am also headed to Fella."

Oh duh, it was my turn

"Well company would certainly be welcome in these uncertain times." Elcivar replied as he frowned at the men on the ground. "I should probably go catch up with Curtains to make sure he doesn't get lost out here, I wonder if Fella is offering bounty on bandits."

"Hmm, good company is hard to find. Don't let me keep you."

Jiskana gestures lazily in Curtains direction.

He seems like he can take care of himself...

The sounds of Curtains running through the trees have faded, but you both know the direction he went and the trail is clear at the edge of the firelight.

Elcivar quickly finds the path even as the light from the campfire fades past the line of trees. Curtains crashed through a good long ways, but it looks like he eventually stopped running. You can hear what has to be him cursing under his breath up ahead.
