  • Dune Striders are passive creatures located within the Seramine Dunes. They often spend their time gliding above the surface of the dunes, giving them the immunity to the danger that is the Shifting Dunes.

    These animals are often tamed and were utilized as war-beasts by the Desert Nation in times of war, often fitted with large saddles that would house magic cannons or large slings that hurled sandstone boulders. They were very effective war machines due to their natural thick armor-like chitin plates that would deflect most attacks. Any attacks that did make it through also then had to contend with the Strider's incredibly thick cartilage-like hide, so most damage would be highly negated.

    Despite this, as an untamed creature, the Strider is highly vulnerable and unable to defend itself because it's one of the few wildlife creatures that has no magical abilities to speak of. They formed a symbiotic relationship with the Desert Striders as a result. They'd function as their war-mounts and ease of passage over the Shifting Dunes and the Desert Striders would provide protection from threats.

    A more general-purpose variant were used for harvesting and agricultural purposes too.
 
Shifting Dunes Serpent

  • The Shifting Dunes Serpents are a class of flightless dragons that get around the Dunes by slithering under the sand. They are incredibly powerful 'swimmers' and can travel at speeds well in excess of 70 MPH while swimming. They are also respectable above surface and can travel up to 35 MPH. They are ambush hunters that wait under the Dunes and strike at prey that wander too close. They are highly aggressive and extremely territorial.

    They are the Apex Predators within the Dunes as not even the massive Sand Worms will challenge a Shifting Dunes Serpent for its meal. They have a jaw strength capable of ripping even the thickest of titanium plating, which mens they can easily crunch through the tough chitin armor of the Dune Strider without a second thought. They cannot be tamed but if a Serpent egg is stolen and hatched, the baby can be imprinted upon and it will grow up to be loyal to whoever imprinted on it.

    This might all sound scary but the Serpents have one glaring weakness. Their hide. Their hide is very soft which make them susceptible to all forms of attacks, hence why they're an ambush hunter because they can't fight a prolonged fight.

Maria summons three swords made of light magic which she can use to send flying at her enemy. Or by stabbing all three swords into the ground, she can create sigil of revealing light which reveals invisible enemies and causes scorching light to deal damage while also weakening dark magic. The size of sigil depends on the distance Maria places the swords.
Heavenly Decree
Maria's eyes begin glowing with a bright light and an aura envelopes her. After a second, she can release this aura to cause a shockwave that forces enemy flying units to be ground for a short time. This also sends a pillar of light into the sky that creates a large dome that constantly heals allies while also damaging enemies at the same time.
Queen's Arsenal
Similar to Harlequin's 'Queen's Arsenal' except, when Maria uses it, the weapons constantly circle her and, when they're sent flying at the enemy, after about half a minute, it reappears around her. The circling weapons instantly parry any incoming physical attack. Oh and it's made of Light magic, not Darkness. The limit on this is indefinite.

She can make only one weapon appear if she wants. There are a total of 12 different and unique weapons she can choose from. They include;

Chapter III. Background
A Forced Rise to Power...
Act I. Childhood
Maria was born in 1282 to the then High King and High Queen. When they died 16 years later to assassination, a young Maria was forced to take the throne due to not having any other older heirs. At first, many doubted the young Queen's ability to lead but she very quickly proved herself capable by enacting a bunch of new government and economical reforms which, not only saw the boom in the Rhythm Nation's economy but also in it's government, moving away from an Absolute Monarchy to Totalitarianism (Absolutel monarchy = All power to one absolute authority figure. Totalitarian = power is divided among the state.) However, Maria still held the position of High Queen but a political party could control the government too
Act II. Early Life
This was the birth of vassal cities such as Ironshire, Westshire and Gentry, who became key parts of the government. Maria still withheld the absolute right to rule however she saw fit though. This balance of power created a Master/Subject relationship between Maria and Ironshire, Westshire and Gentry. About 8 years into Maria's rule, she faced the serious prospect that she could be assassinated, like her parents, at any moment and so, for a brief time, Maria became paranoid and exercised her rights to rule generously. This saw Rhythm Nation enter into a dark period of paranoia and saw many small skirmishes break out through the Nation and, for a few years, Rhythm Nation came this much closer to a civil war. Luckily though, the civil war never happened.
Act III. Adulthood

Eventually, Maria was able to be calmed down by her future husband. This man managed to calm the paranoid Maria down and restabilize her nation. Maria soon realized that she needed this man to help her rule and calm her nerves and so they married in 1306 then had a child later that same year. A few years after the birth of their child, Maria's husband passed away to an incurable fatal illness, leaving a 26 year old Maria to not only lead a nation but raise a child by herself.

When Maria's daughter reached age 12, Maria decided to send her away to Ironshire, making a secret deal with Cyan to look after her in her stead. It was the hardest decision Maria had to make but it helped her to focus on leading her nation.

For the last 29 years, Maria ruled with generosity and slowly gained the trust of her nation and lowered the risk of assassination but the threat is still there. Now she wishes to see the daughter she sent away, though she's aware that she might hold some animosity towards Maria.

Venestrasza drops a large-ish dew of water. When it impacts the ground, it explodes in a healing rain which heals ALL persons within its radius.
Radius: 250 yards in any direction.

Malevolence Effect;
A large dark dew drop forms and is dropped on the battlefield. When it contacts the ground, it explodes into an acid rain for 5 minutes.
Lifebreath
Venestrasza exhales a mist-like breath attack that heals ALL persons the mist touches by a significant amount.

Malevolence Effect;
The breath is a darker shade of green and instead scorches the skin on contact, causes blindness and is a powerful neurotoxin if inhaled. Effects last for as long as the person remains in the mist, until the mist dissipates or until Venestrasza runs out of breath from exhaling.
King's Seed
A 'Seed' is implanted into Venestrasza's target. After 2 minutes, the 'Seed' explodes within them and sends a strong and vigrous healing magic throughout their body, fully restoring any lost energy and healing any wounds, internal or external, as well as removing any negative effects.

Malevolence Effect;
A 'Seed' is implanted within her enemy. After 5 minutes, the 'Seed' blossoms within their body. Sharp branches jut out of their body from all directions. Causes instant death if not removed.
Chapter III. Background
A Forced Rise to Power...
Act I. Childhood
As a little Dragon, Venestrasza showed extreme promise in developing her skills as a Nature Dragon. Early into her childhood though, she suddenly underwent a change in her body that caused her to teeter on along the lines of 'Human' and 'Spirit'. This was a feat to some but scared others so the rest of the Nature Dragon clan attempted to exile her but before they could, she demonstrated that she could shift back into her dragon form. Needless to say, this absolutely astonished the Nature Dragon council.

Having no idea what to do with her, the Council ultimately decided to keep her within the clan but closely monitored. Venestrasza's parents didn't like that they were being so closely monitored, so they decided to leave the clan on their own, going off to form the Alliance of Dragons, where ALL dragons, dragonkin or Dragons stuck as Humans were welcome.
Act II. Early Life
Venestrasza's parents took it upon themselves to educate her, teach her useful skills and ultimately prepare her for ascending the throne of their growing Alliance. Soon after this though, a crisis came about where the Alliance had to deal with a civil war. Unfortunately for Venestrasza and her mother, this was where her father perished in battle. Venestrasza and her mother were left to reconcile after the war had ended and it's still recovering to this day... 32,000 years later. It was during this recovery where Venestrasza's skills fully developed and she was able to take over the Alliance leadership from her mother, who was very sick and dying.

She died to illness 31,600 years later...
Act III. Adulthood/Personality
Now, Venestrasza resides in the modern day world, flying high in the skies, looking after her Alliance. As an adult, Venestrasza can be quite cruel but this can be due to the deaths of her parents at such a young age warping her psyche. She doesn't rule with an iron fist but rather with kindness and generosity. The Alliance has begun to slowly recover but it'll still take quite a while.

Venestrazsa works diligently to ensure her Alliance is safe and prosperous, even if her own wealth and wellbeing are at stake. That said, she can and will defend her honor, to evil extents sometimes, if it's called into question or her Alliance family is attacked.
Trivia
Venestrasza is one of the only surviving members of the Nature Dragons species. The Alliance civil war wiped out 99% of them.
Additional Info
Venestrasza can freely switch between her 'Malevolence' and 'Lifebringer' effects but she cannot both at the same time. She must choose one or the other.
Malevolence effects cancel out Lifebringer effects and vice versa.
