Last Wish
Last Wish is a world-renowned company, hiring only the best of the best. The personalities however might differ greatly from what people expect from these people. Some are actually gentle, while others fit more in the eccentric category. Due to the pressure of needing to uphold the company’s reputation, a lot of employees cut off more sooner than later. Only a few managed to push through and actually secure a safety spot within. They were called the “veterans” though they already receive this name after only 5 years of working there. It was that much of a dangerous and stressful job.
The missions of Last Wish are mainly focused on assassination, world defense and space exploration. At the beginning there are several departments but slowly onwards, these fuse together, meaning you won’t be specialized in just one of them anymore. Of course, you will be better in e.g. assassination if this was your first choice but your skills will only increase over time. This also makes you a great danger to the people living on Earth. Some feeling threatened by the mere presence of these “soldiers”, trying to use political measurements in order to counter attack them when things don’t go the way they want to. However, since they couldn’t risk to completely destroy the company, they let them be for the most part. Whenever they got out of line though, punishment would have followed which could include suspension, unable to use any weapons (meaning no assassination for the time being) and even get fired (depending on how grave the situation would be). Hacking is also an option but there is a limited capacity for them, their faces are also unknown to the world except from a couple of people. They’re the ones working in the shadows.
This company is situated in Seoul, South-Korea (2068) which is currently the most advanced city in the entire world. The languages mainly spoken there are English, Korean and Japanese. English has also become the world language which is taught in every school and seen as an important skill to have. There are still countries who refuse to join in which are in return one of the poor due to them not being able to communicate with others out of their own stubbornness. In these countries it’s not unusual for criminality rates to be up high. However, their black markets are considered one of the best for special and rare pieces.
