Abraham Lincoln was a blatant racist. When the 13th amendment was created where "Neither slavery nor involuntary servitude, except as a punishment for crime whereof the party shall have been duly convicted, shall exist within the United States, or any place subject to their jurisdiction". With this fat, obvious loophole began the first mass incarcerations of black folk. Not only this but Lincoln actually opposed the social and political equality of black folk.
While it may be that Lincoln proposed the 13th amendment, the credit for the abolishment of slavery should be to Wendell Phillips and other abolishers. They actually participated in helping the negros. This is shit they dont teach you in school. Slavery was abolished, but negros were arrested and put to work for years over the most petty acts. They were actually LEASED, yes lease like the selling of a car; an object, LEASED out to farmers and communities to work to the bone for standing around a store.
