hm, ours is an indoor cat because the area is not good for otherwise. Too many volatile strays and lots of traffic. However he will attempt to escape anyway he can, multiple times he's gotten himself stuck on the second floor windowsills (outside) because he thinks he can make the jump to the ground then wusses out also there is the trash digging, food stealing, furniture scratching, bed throwing up on, random attacking and attempts on my life...

but the idea of a house being a bedroom, hallway and office... bold choice to skip bathroom and kitchen in that planning process. The house for the woman married to her work, exclusively, without food or bathroom breaks. Unless the hallway incorporates the bathroom and kitchen element, like an open plan en suite. That's an even bolder choice.
