Emi and Aiko both go to their rooms, exchanging their overalls and shirts for two pairs of footed pajamas. While they're upstairs, I hear the doorbell ring. I open it to see our neighbors, the Smith family, from a couple of houses down the street. The father (Terry) and his wife (Jane) bring their two children (Kate and Lisa, 7 and 5 years old) inside. I had forgotten they wanted to come and visit tonight, but fortunately the house is clean. Lisa and Sakura are close friends. I call out to you, saying: "Miyuki, the Smiths have come over to visit."

I wander towards him with Sakura clinging to my hand gently. I smile and free the Smith family and let Sakura go over to Lisa with a light smile. I bring everyone into the living room and watch as Sakura sits down on the carpet with Lisa, showing her some of her new toys.
As they talk to each other, Emi and Aiko come downstairs wearing their pajamas. Emi blushes when she notices that the Smiths are here. Kate smiles and laughs a little, saying they both look comfy, but Terry tells them to stop. I give them both a seat as we relax and talk to each other, and Lisa and Sakura happily keep playing.

I leaned back in the sofa as I watch them all together happily. Sakura looks up at me and smiles, I smile back at my daughter and then watch her gently. I was talking to Jane about various subjects such as the weather and how she and the girls and you had been getting on.
As we sit together, I talk to Terry about work-related things because he works at a different company nearby my firm. Around 6:30, I notice Emi and Aiko looking nearly asleep; both are relaxed and can hardly keep their eyes open. "Alright you two, bedtime. Sakura, come on and lets get you ready for bed. You can play with Lisa a little bit longer until it's your bedtime." At this point, Emi and Aiko are so tired they simply nod and stand up. They say goodnight to everyone and I follow them upstairs, holding Sakura's hand. "Do you mind if I take care of them? I'll be back in just a few minutes. You can tuck them in instead if you'd rather, though."

I watch as Terry and you talk then I turn back to Jane to talk some more. When you tell the girls that they should start to go to bed now I smile and nod as he takes hold of Sakura's hand. I nod at him, allowing him to take care of them. "Oh, that's alright. You can't take care of them" I tell him and then go inside the kitchen to make some tea for the adults and juice for the kids.
I nod and reply, "Thanks so much" as I blush a little bit. I follow Emi and Aiko upstairs, and together with Sakura we tuck them into bed, closing the blinds and curtains to keep out the sunlight. I give them both a kiss on the forehead and soon enough they are both fast asleep. Sakura and I quietly leave their rooms, and I go to Sakura's room to help her put her pajamas on. We come back downstairs and she happily runs over to the table to get her glass of juice.
