In 2039 events started to happen in Earth's oceans. Ships would disappear or show up with their entire crews killed. Submarines would notice strange large objects on sonar that slowed down and able to turn quickly far too quickly for a sub. Strange wild life was reported. Than it happened.
Two giant snails came to shore in Los Angeles. The people smart as ever wanted to party with the snails. The snails busted open unleashing thousands of locus like creatures killing almost everyone near by. Reports from Guam and Hawaii state that crab like creatures were attacking shooting posinous gas and cutting people with pressurized water. Giant one eyed creatures that were hard to kill.
Within a month the strange alien creatures had control of almost all port and costal cities.
The rest of the world wasn't faring much better Japan was gone. England was barely hanging on.
