She was greatly underestimating him if she thought something like that was enough to depress him. "I suppose we'll just have to see how far my experience carries me, won't we?" Even if they were online victories he'd done a damn good job of it. Besides he wasn't about to get on his knees and beg he was plenty confident he'd be fine on that front anyways. He'd climb to the top and then some all they had to do is wait and see.

"Obviously the only weapon suitable for a hero is a sword with no equal." But would it be cooler if the sword was cursed or if it was blessed, it's leaning into the aesthetic vs contrast. No a demon with a blessed sword just wouldn't make any sense, she was probably gonna give him secondhand crap anyways. But 500 years? He wasn't about to wait 500 years to become Demon Lord when he was certain he'd surpass her long before then. Hell even 100 sounded like he'd be wasting time. Still it'd be dumb to just move on to another nation when he could build this one up from scratch. He'd just have to find some loophole down the line.

Cora snickered at Rura's insult.

"I could see that." She said, looking the demon up and down. He didn't seemed fazed by the comments however. Turning to Rura, serious now, she shrugged at her question.

"I don't have a preference in weapons. Whatever's easiest to use and as long as it does its job, I'm good." She said matter of factly. Cora knew she was quite indecisive and usually didn't have an opinion on things, which greatly annoyed those around her. In fact, the same could be said about her views in her previous life. Most of her actions had just been fueled by spite against her parents. Now that she didn't have parents...well. What was her purpose now? A flash of her parent's faces showed briefly in her mind. Then it was her dog, Buddy. Had they found her body yet? Then flashes of the accident came into her head now and-

Cora jumped when she realized she was being addressed again. What was the question? Oh, becoming an apprentice! Right... The she-demon scoffed a bit, but there was an uncertainty in her pale eyes. Should she? She wasn't exactly looking for a place on the throne as the other demon was, but perhaps it would help her get a leg up on her real goal.

"Can I sleep on it?" Cora asked with a smirk. The offer was tempting, but she didn't want to seem desperate. She wasn't... yet.

"A sword for the wannabe protagonist it is." Rura said playfully mocking Remy. Rura then rummages through a pile of things at the side of the shack. She then pulls out a longsword in sheath and pulls out the sword to check it's blade. "You are in luck. You get a steel sword that is in nearly pristine condition. There are only mild marks of use on it. Probably because it's owner died just months after I made the sword for him. If you expect it to be enchanted, no it's not. It is unlikely you will ever own one since they are exceedingly rare and mostly in the hands of lords."

She put the sword back in it's leather-wrapped sheath and tossed it to Remy.

Rura then turned to Cora. "Let's see what I have in stock for you." She began rummaging again. Rura pulled out weapons and laid them near her. "So I got a metal longbow and a handful of arrows. There is a battle-scythe made from black steel. Daggers. Another longsword, yet with heavy usage. A spear. A pike. A long rifle. A battle axe. And a greatsword." Rura said as she laid them neatly in front of Cora. "Personally, I like the greatsword, but you need the strength to use that."

The she-demon asked if she could sleep on the apprentice part. Rura then answered: "Sure. I forgot to add that apprentices have certain benefits. They might not get everything handed to them in the wilds and have to stay alive on their own, but if you shall ever go to another nation, you are basically under my protection. I will hunt those down who hurt or kill my apprentices in the other nations. Additionally, apprentices who prove themselves have better chances at becoming adopted or betrothed within the dynasty. Anyways, once you are ready and have everything you need, clear your plots and I will send somebody over to erect your temporary housing. I still need to work on my provisional palace further down the road past where you are to build your homes."

Through the forest, beyond the subdivision was a large clearing full of the rotting carcasses of mighty beasts and a large patch with a partially erected stone wall and a large grinding stone nearby. Seemed like Rura had been making a wall out of stone and bone based cement. There was no trace of a palace yet, but judging by the size of the clearing, the palace or the future upper city was supposed to be pretty big.

Ignoring her somewhat rude mockery he was absolutely psyched to have a real sword. He attached the sheath to his belt before drawing the sword and looking it over. It was barely even nicked! He couldn't help but give it a few practice swings. They were a lot more flashy than they were effective considering the only formal training he had was swinging replicas around in the same way in his room. He'd adjust though, and for now he certainly felt better about taking on giant monsters.

He was more than satisfied with his blade but he certainly had to at least glance at the other weapons. Most of them weren't really his style but he had to admit black steel at least looked cool, and a spear would've been second on the list probably, if only cause it felt safer. But he was a Demon like no other and would be more than capable of handling himself with this fine blade. Not to mention he was wearing gauntlets so the chances of him cutting his hands or something were lower.

"With these we shall be finished before the sun touches the horizon." Such a claim honestly didn't afford them much time to defeat monsters they'd never seen before. It was already fairly late. Still he was confident he'd be capable of it, he could probably carry the weaker demon if need be. So long as she didn't like, stand out of his line of sight, then she was basically on her own. He could only focus on so many things when fighting for his life.

Being reborn as a demon would change his goal. If anything it gave him more time and better chances of getting this goal. The first thing Ken did was to gather information(info for short) on his new surroundings. Even becoming the occasional farmhand or taking whatever jobs he had to for the info he needed. While being careful about how he asked about his old friend. It took him a while but he was finally given some good information that might give him some hope. Being told about the Wilds and how it is a vast amount of unknown land. Ken saved up enough to make the trip.

It was supposed to take a week or two. But Ken kept getting sidetracked by every new rock and plant he came across. Sometimes exploring a bit before seeing something that would unalive him and getting back on track. Writing down everything he could find out about the things he saw. Luckily he was able to live off the land because of his time as a farmhand and research. Until he finally reached the settlement. He thought it would be a bit more developed but he would make do. Hoping he might find his friend here. Upon walking around the settlement for a while he came across some demons that looked like they were preparing for something.

Walking up to the trio he puts his bag down.
"Excuse me I mean to interrupt your preparations for whatever it is your doing. But could one of you fellows point me to the head of this place? I looking to sit up here." If Tomo wasn't here maybe she would come here eventually. This is a new place with all kinds of new things. That's at least what he hoped would think for.

"Oh, right I forgot to introduce myself I am Ken Saturn nice to meet you."

Cora had been looking through her options while the other demon sat to admire his sword. Although her interest kept being drawn back to the scythe, she thought it too cliché to just pick it. She wanted to be a reaper for Lucifer’s sake. It was just too obvious a choice... this thought came to her as her gaze traveled slowly back to the weapon. It was beautiful, and most importantly, it was dangerous. All of these were, but a scythe would give her more leeway in terms of distance. Cora didn’t know what she was doing anyways, and the further she could be away from her enemy the happier she would be.

Sighing, she picked her weapon of choice up, albeit a bit wearily. It was surprisingly light for what she thought it was going to be, and gave it a few good swings before nodding.

“No need to tell me the connection, but I think I’ll go with this one.” She addressed Rura, and offered a small thanks for loaning her a weapon and armor. It was more than she could’ve asked for. Finally she turned to the other demon, about to let him know she was ready before yet another voice spoke up, someone she didn’t recognize.

Jumping a bit, Cora turned quickly to face the newcomer. A quick introduction from him was all they received, so she kept silent, hoping someone would answer him so she wouldn’t have to.

"Ooh good pick." He couldn't help but admire the scythe as Cora picked it up. Of course it was doubtful a compliment coming from him was a good thing but it at least confirmed that the weapon had plenty of style points. "Personally while I like the aesthetic Scythes have just always seemed a bit unwieldy, but I could be wrong." He shrugged and nodded his head in the general direction of the plots. "Shall we get going?"

Before he could even take a step a new figure approached and introduced himself. How come everybody had natural protagonist names? They must all be faking their names too right? Whatever, it wasn't something significant enough Remy would let it get him down. He could probably at least beat this prettyboy in a fight any day. Not that he was particularly itching to test that theory, he had more important things to do than scuffle with a stranger. Such as clearing out those boars as promised. With the girl equipped as well there was nothing stopping them now anyways.

"Hey Shisho, we're going to get a headstart while you get him inundated and all that." He then turned to the newcomer. "Feel free to catch up after for introductions." No point in sticking around for the boring part, he doubted the guy would complain if there was one or two less boars to fight whenever he caught up. Besides the guy might not even decide to stay, then they were really wasting time. Regardless without even waiting from a response from anyone he started walking away.

( Naburius Naburius Don't skip too far ahead without someone. Additionally I cannot current post at specific times of day because I am back at work driving around people with disabilities.)

Remy was eager to get going after he admired his sword. Not minding the new person too much.

Cora seemed to need a little to choose her weapon but she ended up going for the scythe. "Ahh. a good pick, however scythes aren't easy to use in battle. I recommend you practice with it regularly, maybe fighting rats and beetles first before fighting something bigger. I can offer a special training regimen for you young demons to build your strength and speed for battle. All I ask for is a little blood in return." Rura said fiddling with her long, black, curled left horn. Her horns were unlike what demons usually knew. Demons usually had short horns that were either white, brown or greyish, sometimes even red, but never in such a deep black that Rura had. Additionally the length of the curled horns was even more than the other lords. The other lords tended to have bigger and longer horns than common demons but they could be considered short compared to Rura's.

"The subdivision plots are down the gravel road into the forest. You should see a low wall to your left and raised stones marking the plots." She told Cora and Remy as they began to leave. They probably wouldn't be able to read the raised stones anyways because they were inscribed in old devilian script and not in common script, but at least describing the place should let them know where it is.

Then a new demon approached. It was another male. He politely interrupted and asked who the head of the place was. The demon then introduced himself as Ken Saturn.

"My, my. (Ara, ara.) Aren't you a polite one. I am the lord of this domain. I am please to meet you, Ken. I am Rura of A'antara, Lord of the Wilds, highest ranking dev... I mean demon of this domain." Rura said. "If you have been to the other nations, you may have heard some nasty rumors about me. But you came anyways to become a citizen. I will show you the ropes and maybe you can join up with the others later to clear the dire boars off the plots you get as citizens. The other two you see there are Regulus and Lacora. If you become a citizen, they may be your neighbors in the new subdivision."

She went into her home and brought out another stack of papers. She then briefed Ken on the same stuff she did the other two. (See post #5 or #13. Not going to post those three large paragraphs every time.) The briefing was the same rehearse bit as before. She then put the papers down and said: "Okay just sign here and mark with your blood and I will finalize it and you will officially be a citizen. Then we can get you a weapon, armor, a second hand phone and your whistle. If you want a newer phone, you will have to order one. The other equipment you will get when you have cleared the dire boars and possibly the weeds from your plot. If you want apprenticeship under my wing, you'd need to be tested first."

Rura then wondered if she'd have to save Cora and Remy from the huge boars they need to clear or if they would manage to do it on their own.

Upon hearing the name of the place and its owner, Ken pulled out his journal and wrote them down. "Miss Rura of A'antara. "Seeing that Rura was the one in charge of the domain. Ken decided to go ahead and had a look over the papers he received to make sure he wouldn't sign something insane for him. But Rura seemed trustworthy enough but she was still a demon so he wouldn't take her lightly. He knows from the advice of his farmhand days he should probably ignore what she might have almost said. Plus the things he had heard about her don't make him want to get on her bad side.
Signing the papers and then two of his fingers together showing an almost unnoticeable display of broken channel. Blood drips from his finger onto the paper. He at least knew Rura would see it maybe Lacora but didn't care. Before handing them back.

"The apprenticeship I'm not sure about that right now, but I will keep it in mind." The first part of the apprentice deal wasn't bad but the second he didn't care for. Taking a look at the others Regulus and Lacora.Regulus seems like he's ready for action so all he could do was wish him luck. While Lacora seemed a bit on edge of him so he gave her a friendly wave before turning back to Rura." Miss Rura I don't mind a second-hand phone. " Taking a look at the weapons he debts if he should get the greatsword or battle-ax. After a minute picks up the battle-ax he wanted to try out heavy weapons more. Then picking out some armor. "Also Miss Rura have you... Sorry, what I was going to ask is any advice on the hunt." He was going to ask about his friend but he doesn't know if she has made enemy's yet so he stops himself. Giving a bit of a smile.

Tracing his steps down the route he'd run earlier Remy eventually made his way to the empty plots the Demon Lord had mentioned. Yes it was clear how the boars could be an issue, given their size. Getting gored by one of those would easily be worse than getting hit by a truck. Still, if Remy had one thing it was confidence, getting hit wasn't even a concern. He had the body of a demon and the desperation to live of a cockroach.

A deep breath, sword drawn, and he's off. He really didn't want to risk getting hit by one even once so to start with he made sure to keep away from it's face side and to keep his distance. Manga protagonists normally have two approaches to this, brute force it or play it smart, after all the work earlier he'd rather play it smart. Do everything he can to stay to the side of it and only be right near it when stabbing into it. Unfortunately it's not a foolproof plan and after having sufficiently angered the beast and not having done as much damage as one might hope it body checked him when he next moved in. No significant damage but boy did it knock him off his feet and he barely managed to scramble out of the way as it stomped where he was.

Being cautious was getting him nowhere, it frankly just wasn't doing much damage. Still he'd taken enough time he'd figured out how he could probably take it out swiftly. He faced it head on, slipping between it's tusks and slashing it across the face before hopping back. Blood in the eyes will normally anger most creatures and this was no exception. It pawed at the ground before charging at him, in return he ran right towards it as well before sliding underneath and sticking his sword deep into it's torso. It stumbled as it passed, rolling onto it's side and giving him time to recover, grip the sword in it's chest and plant his feet to pull it out and stab once more between the eyes to finish it. Now they just had to deal with the rest of the infestation, keeping in mind that he probably wasn't going to be getting many mano e mano fights.

(I guess we just skip Miss Bumbles turn until she returns. If she returns.)

As Ken managed to draw blood from his finger with his broken channel ability, Rura took notice of it. "That is some interesting ability you have there. If you are able to produce something stronger, it must be pretty useful." Rura complimented. She then finalized the papers with her lord magic and handed Ken his copy. "Congratulation, you are now a citizen of this domain." She said.

Ken then seemed to be fine with just having a second-hand phone to which Rura grabbed another phone that had belonged to a recently deceased demon and a panic whistle and handed them to him. "Don't go dying on me like the previous owner did. About 30% of new citizens die within their first year here and another 30% is strong enough to survive long term here. The rest either eventually die within a couple years or emigrate to another nation." Rura warned.

When Ken asked about the hunt, there seemed to be something else on his mind. Rura didn't want to push him to revealing what he originally was going to ask, so she answered his request for advice on the hunt: "Dire boars always run in straight lines when attacking, making them easy to dodge if you are quick on your feet. If you come across a dragon in these parts, even a small one, use the whistle. You can't win a fight against the dragons here, at least not yet. When you are done clearing your plot, seek me out. I will either be here or further down the road working on my future palace."

Speaking of the hunt, Rura was wondering how Remy was faring against the dire boars and whether Lacora had made it ther yet.

Naburius Naburius Stern LuLuLu Stern LuLuLu MissBumble MissBumble

When he heard the tips that Rura give him about the hunt Ken decided to write it down in his book." Alright, thank you for the advice. If a dragon does show up I'll probably be the first to blow the whistle."Ken felt confident in his abilities but not enough to fight the dragon for an extended period. After he was done writing down his notes he started down the road to where his new home should be.

Coming up to a view of the plot of land he sees a dire boar. Stopping to think about his game plan for it. He figures it's best to take a couple of practice swings. After getting a feel for his ax Ken heads straight in charging, calling out the boar." Hay bacon gets over here." After calling it out the dire boar charges at him. Using the information he got from Rura he does a hard pivot to the side using the ax to give him the extra movement right before the boar dashes past him swinging it in a full circle getting a good slash in its back. Continuing to spin a bit after only stopping himself by digging the ax into the ground. "Wow, that was too close". The boar turns around and goes in for another attack." Straight into round two, I see." But before Ken gets the ax out of the ground the second charge was already upon him .making him defend with it throwing him back and numbing his hands some. Picking himself up off the ground, he sees the boar getting ready for a third charge kicking up dirt as it does." I see you want to finish it alright, let's end it." Touching his metal gauntlet to the blade of his battle-ax small sparks come off of it. He then holds it behind him with one hand with the other in front of him almost touching the ground. The boar charges at full speed at Ken. Putting all of his strength into a downward swing with one arm and using broken channel on his gauntlet near the ground pulls the ax down with magnetic force right before the boar can hit him splitting its head open. But still pushing him back some as it falls dead. Once he catches himself, Ken looks to if his other newcomers are faring well. Seeing not too far off Remy emerging victorious in his fight. Getting his head back in the game." One down how every many else to go." Walking off for his next boar.

Well clearly it was going a bit smoother for the newcomer than it was for Remy. He held off for a minute to watch Ken fight before being dragged back into the scuffle when a boar charged him. He was caught a bit off guard but starting to get into the rhythm of things and managed to tumble out of the way. He then got to his feet and maneuvered himself in front of a tree before whistling for the boar that had just missed him. He yet again dodged out of the way when it charged, this time a bit more neatly as it rushed past him and crashed straight through the trunk of the tree. Not exactly to plan but he did manage to cut it as it passed at least. One more time nice and cleanly. He braced himself and waited for it's charge, keep it cool. He sidestepped it a little later than he would have liked but remained safe and plunged his sword into it's throat, being pulled along as it crashed into the ground.

Rinse and repeat that three more times and he was tired, a bit battered, but lacking any major injuries. Granted it could be hard to tell his condition given the amount of blood he was covered in. Frankly it was rather uncomfortable but definitely better than being dead. He used his shirt to wipe as much blood as he could off the blade, not wanting it to get tarnished before taking a look around the clearing. It was certainly a suitable amount of space, no doubt about that, ignoring the corpses taking up some of it. He turned to the Demon Lord and gestured to the bodies littering the ground. "Are these good eating or is there anything else we can get from em?" It was hard work taking them down and he wasn't gonna let it go to waste if he could help it. Granted he could only keep so much meat without any form of refrigeration, he could maybe skin them but he didn't really have the skill to do so and wasn't sure how high quality their hide even was.

Rura followed Ken into the forest and watched Ken and Remy fight the boars from a distance. They seemed to get the hang of it and with some difficulty they managed their task without extra help. Ken continued to the next boar after finishing the first. Remy meanwhile seemed to have finished those on his plot and approached Rura asking if the boars could be eaten or if they can get something useful out of them.

"You can keep the meat for eating. Just cook the meat first, otherwise you may get sick. You can sell the tusks for a little money in town. I must ask for the bones of the boars though. I need them to make a cement paste for building walls. If you need cement paste too, just bring me more bones and I can make some for you too. Anyways, I will have someone come and set up your temporary housing for until you get your own place built." Rura said.

She turned to look at Ken and called out: "Ken, how are you faring? Once you are done, just give me the bones and you can have the rest of the boars for eating. Like I said to Remy, with the boar bones I can make cement paste for building walls. If you need any then bring me bones."

Ken having put together a plan on how to go through his battle-ax training in live combat. Knew it wouldn't be easy but still wanted to go through with it anyway. "Alright, you can't make an omelet without cracking a few eggs." Heading headlong into the next fight with the nearest boar. Upon meeting eyes with his target, it starts charging at him before he could even fully prepare him only time to block with the battle-ax. I once again eating dirt and feeling the after-effects of it in his arms. That's going to be a problem sooner or later. But he figured it was better than taking the hit directly. When it came around for the second time Ken drug into the ground grabbing some dirt and throwing it in its eyes before nearly dodging it. Then following it up with a swing from his ax. But because of that, the boar had found out where he was. Doing another straight charge at him Ken did the same in return but before they could get too close to each other Ken hit the ground using the ax as an anchor behind him. Letting the blind boar do the rest for him. Spilling its guts on the ground to which Ken took a breath of relief. Picking himself up off the ground and grabbing the ax. Looking around for the next one Ken thought he sees why so many newbies fail to make it out here. Then hears Rura talking to him "Alright, for now, Miss but I will keep going ."Heading off.

After finishing his part Ken was dirty and sore. Mostly from his multiple plans on taking them down. But worst of all he seems to have dislocated his left arm from all the blocking. Even still when he got a chance he wrote down what Rura to say what the remains could be used for with his still good arm. Thinking that's nice there bones can be used for that. Then he thinks I hope they taste good. Before he walks over to the others." Hay I don't believe we have been properly induced I'm Ken."Walking over to Remy and using his working arm. He would just fix his arm later.

Alright good to know he'd get something extra out of this struggle, not just bruises. He nodded to Rura, trying to look thoughtful. "Noted, I'll keep it in mind." It's not like he had the tools to get much out of the corpses anyways, he wasn't about to use a broadsword as a hunting knife. He'd probably only keep as much meat as would stay fresh. Didn't want to deal with the smell if too much went bad either.

He watched Ken finish up shortly after him and took note of how he fought. Swinging around a battle axe like that was a little intimidating but as far as Remy could tell the guy was being too upfront, trying to block that many hits. Once Ken finished up and introduced himself Remy took his hand and answered as formally as he could. "Apprentice of Rura of A'Antara, Lord of the Wilds, Regulus Armand at your service. I'm impressed with what you've shown. Would you care to form a party?" You aren't sure if that's purely a video game concept or one in this realm at well but regardless it seems more advantageous to work with others. Besides then you can possibly just join plots, homes take up less space, more for recreation, and you don't have to set up multiple camps for the time being.

Ken finished his part of the job and Rura noticed that there was something wrong with his left arm. "Of course, you have only introduced yourself to me but not to Regulus. Also, it seems you have injured your arm. Depending on the type of injury I might have an ointment for it. Like if it is broken, I have medicine to make it heal faster. If it is dislocated, we can probably just quickly correct that." Rura said to Ken.

She then turned to have both Remy and Ken in her view. "The carpenter is currently a bit busy, so I decided to bring your yurts along with me. Just give me a little to set them up and you will at least have a dry place to sleep in case it rains. To keep additional creatures away, I will set up a ward using my blood as a repellent. Most creatures should avoid the plots for the next week with the ward up. Once you have permanent housing, the creatures shouldn't be an issue anymore." Rura said.

Rura then walked a little up the road and came back with two large packs. They seemed kind of overdimensional compared to her but she handed them as if they were empty bags. "Just show me where to built them and I can build them. Unless you want to build them yourselves." Rura said.

*the packs contain the materials to build the yurt, a solar panel, a large battery, a power socket converter, a communication antenna, a bedroll and basic cooking utensils.*

Ken thought about Regulus's offer for a bit. Seeing the benefits of teaming up with someone would be useful for his search. It would but he would wait for a bit before he bought that up to anyone. "Alright, we can party up as you put it. I see you took the apprenticeship with Miss Rura I may join soon. Also, I don't mind joining plots it might be useful to me and my research."

Hearing Rura list off ways to treat his injuries. Ken figured he could use something to make him feel better." I guess I will take some help it seems I dislocated my arm as you said. A bit embarrassing as it is to say." It would be better to get his arm back in working order sooner than later. "So what would be the most ideal place for a plot also what if I wanted to start a garden of sorts as well?" He would like to try seeing if the land around here could grow a multitude of plants and herbs. While he started making his new home.

Remy grinned at Ken's response. "I'm glad to hear it. I look forward to our partnership." He was a little jealous at the thought but could deal with Rura having a second apprentice, rivals were a must anyways. It was much easier to have a friendly rival anyways and another thing to check off the list for full fantasy immersion. All he needed now was foreshadowing of some legendary weapon or prophecy passed through the kingdom and that'd be all the introductory flags marked off.

"I'll make my own." Even if he had to copy her it'd probably be better in the long run to know how to put the yurt together. In a world so unadvanced he was severely lacking in survival skills and that was something he'd have to remedy quickly if he wanted to last long. He'd gone camping once or twice before when he was younger but that didn't really have much application here. These were yurts not tents and he wasn't even sure any marshmallows had been invented to be roasted. Regardless he at least got to work attempting to put together the building to the best of his ability. Theoretically he could do this just fine, he knew what it was supposed to look like and at least something about structural integrity.

Since Ken accepted her offer of help, Rura temporarily interrupted his home building to help him out. "Relax. This will hurt a tiny bit." She said just before she grabbed Ken's arm and fixed his shoulder. Rura then held out a handful of herbs. "Here eat these. They might taste bitter and a bit metallic but they will soothe the pain and discomfort you are experiencing."

When Ken asked where to build so that a garden could be made, Rura answered: "Best build near a water source like the creek over there. You could like dig a little to divert the water to supply the garden with water."

In regards to Remy, Rura just stated: "Good luck getting that thing together. If you don't mind, I need to get to continuing build my wall for my palace. If you need anything, I am down the road. You will notice where I am at. If you have questions, my number is on your phones already."

Rura then went down the road to the construction site of her palace. It was a large clearing and full of the carcasses of large creatures that had dared to wander too close. A wall had already been started there. Rura then put on short overalls and a cowboy like hat and began shaping large boulders and building a wall.

Ken knew it would hurt but he would be worse if he put it off for too long. But once Rura was done putting his arm back in place. He ate the herbs that she gave to him. Being somewhat to things having some sort of flavor it was a bit hard for him. Once that was done downing the medicine, Ken decided to start on his garden area before moving on to his yurt. It would help him be a bit more independent instead of just helping with other people's farms.

"I thank you for the offer and the medicine but I would like to try on my own first."Starting at the creek where Rura told him would be a good spot to start. Ken started making a patch to the place where he would make setup his garden. Making a small broader to separate the food from the herbs. It took some time but he had a bit of fun doing it. Reaching into his bag Ken pulls out some of the seeds he got from the framers as gifts and plants them. Once done he pulls out his journal and starts making a blueprint of his yurt. Laughing as he does.

Apparently Ken had thought out the living off the land thing a good bit more than Remy had since as soon as he'd finished setting up his ramshackle yurt he'd called that good enough for now. Frankly he wasn't really focused on housing when the prospect of quests and adventure was right around the corner. Her Lordship was busy for the time being so he'd have to find some other way to entertain himself and frankly gardening was not the answer. Strength had to come first and foremost obviously. He wasn't actually sure how much harder a demon would have to work out given their already naturally impressive strength. Still the best way to test that was to do so himself, he'd had enough life threatening combat for now but it wouldn't hurt to at least run a few laps and practice with the sword he'd been gifted. Sure part of it was just wanting to swing around a sword and look cool but practice was genuinely important so he stationed himself in front of his yurt and got to work on practice swings. They seemed to make a difference in the light novels he read, even if at a relatively slow pace over time. But that was barely on his mind as he visualized the kinds of monsters he'd get to slay and swung his sword like an idiot.

Rura had made decent progress on the wall of her future palace and decided to take a little break. She wondered what the other two were up to and thought to check if they react to the quest board. Rura went onto the government website and put up a quest for the A'antara area. Quarz gathering: Gather as much quarz crystals as you can and deliver them to the palace construction site. Reward: The one who delivers the most gets a week of provisions and a kiss on the cheek by your lord Rura. Consolation prizes: A free dinner or a slab of meat. Conditions: Teaming up can't be more than two people.

That would make sure that they have a quest and at least some competition at it.

While she wrote the entry, a large wyvern had snuck up on Rura. Wyverns of that size would be dangerous to even experienced demons. But then again, Rura wasn't a normal demon or might not even be a demon at all. The wyvern lunged for an attack. Rura dodged it by a hair. "Ara ara? You here to waste my time and precious break?" Rura said as her eyes glared red at the wyvern. It was mildly aggravating for her. "Compared to dragons, you are nothing." Rura said as she drew her greatsword. The wyvern attacked again. Rura countered it with her sword, knocking it back several hundred meters. Rura jumped up against a tree to more efficiently propel her forward towards the wyvern. The amount of force make her feet sink into the wood of the tree. The speed Rura flew through the air at the wyvern caused a minor shockwave. It was a near miss as the wyvern had just narrowly dodged the attack and flew into the air. Rura managed to destroy several large trees.

"You aren't getting away from me. If you start a fight, you better finish it." Rura said. She went into a kneeling motion but then jumped towards the flying wyvern. She was sure she wouldn't miss. The force of her jump created a large crater under her as the ground gave away. She flew up at high speed and made a direct hit, slashing the wyvern to pieces mid-air, showering the forest with wyvern blood.

"Well I guess I already have the meat for the quest reward." Rura said after she landed and put her sword away. She approached the wyvern pieces to salvage meat from them.

Ken finished the blueprint of his future abode but realized the materials were not enough for the goal. Now redoing his plans with everything in mind. He ends up goes with just making something that looks like a tool shed."That will do for now alright, how about I walk around town and meet the locals. I can see if they can give me some more info."Walking with a bit of a pep in his step. He will try to come off as friendly. He would first go meet whatever seller of any goods and services. But if anything he would look for a trader if he could not find any he would have to become one.

He would also have to wait to see what Miss Rura was truly capable of before he became an apprentice. But given the bizarre and frankly scary rumors, he was he heard he might just believe them.

Alright he'd better do something more productive with his time rather than just idle training, he'd more than likely receive plenty of that under Lord Rura. Remy pulled out the cell phone he'd been gifted and was immediately hit with nostalgia, ah the conveniences of modern technology. While browsing through the applications on it he noticed the previous owner had left it open on the government website and decided to check it out. He'd been expecting a physical quest board somewhere in town but this was certainly much easier to access. Ken was already gone so he'd be doing this quest solo for now.

Deciding to take the quest Remy got to his feet and headed into the more developed part of town, bringing the Boar tusks with him. Remembering his laps through town earlier he made his way to the general shop and lightened his load knowing he'd need the money. So long as he was there he decided to ask about what and where these quarz crystals even were. The shop owner revealed a rather small one from behind the counter and informed him of a nearby mine that one could pay to get access to. For now it was certainly easier than finding his own deposit so it seemed to be the only available option and after acquiring a pickaxe Remy was on his way.
