"It isn't so bad," she shrugged. "I get to do my own work." She smiled. Natalie blushed when he took the cream of her nose, gingerly touching the skin. "Oh yeah?" She laughed, sticking her finger in the cream of her coffee and licking it off before taking another sip. "So, why'd you agree to coffee with me?" She tilted her head, smiling gently.

John bit his bottom lip slightly as she licked the cream off her own finger. The hairs on the back of his neck rose up. "Well," he started, searching for an answer other than 'You're hot', "I like meeting new people. I feel like the world is something to be experienced, and I'd love to experience you." Ah shit, that came out wrong. Too late to take it back now, though, so just go with it. "What made someone like you offer to have coffee with me?" he retorted, raising the coffee cup to his lips and taking a ginger sip. "For all you know I could just be another one of the crazy bums living under the bridges around here."

Natalie blushed a bit, rubbing the back of her neck. "Well, if you're a crazy bum it's just as well. I agreed to coffee because you were pretty cute at the park." She admitted, feeling a bit shallow with herself. He actually had a real reason. She made a pouting face, but quickly smiled to hide it. The girl sat up more, smiling as Frieda brought their orders. "Here you two go." The plump woman smiled and walked away, giving John a look. Natalie laughed a little, it was small and more to herself than for him to hear.

He laughed aloud and thanked Frieda for the food before turning back towards Natalie. "You think I'm cute, really?" he asked, obviously shocked. John chuckled again and shook his head. "It's been a while since I heard that, honestly." What an ego boost. "So do you have family around here?" he asked her, before taking a bite of his tuna sandwich.

"Actually no, they all live down south in Texas." She smiled, biting into her scone. The female blushed a little, putting a hand over her mouth as she chewed. Natalie swallowed before speaking again, "And yes, you are cute. Do you have family?" She returned the question, tilting her head in interest as she absentmindedly twirled a lock of her hair.

John sipped his coffee and leaned back in his chair, one leg stretching out to the side of the table. "No family to speak of," he said simply. "I have friends here, and they've been there for me a lot more than my real family. I'm originally from Alabama. They didn't really like the idea of me moving here after high school to pursue my own dreams." He shrugged and then smiled, dismissing the faint sadness that he felt.

To keep himself from talking about it any more and killing the good vibes of their date, he took a few more bites of his sandwich. "Do you party?" he asked, suddenly.

Natalie blushed and her eyes widen, taken back by the question. "I did in college." She admitted, pushing her hair behind her ear as she looked at her lap. "My family didn't like me coming here either." She leaned back as well, crossing her legs.

The girl grumbled as her phone buzzed in her purse. "I'm sorry." She admitted, checking her phone quickly. "Ugh, they need me at the office later tonight. I really don't want to go." She stated, running a hand through her hair.
