Tasia Mcknight: Home-School

After Tasia got her tag she immediately went to the stage to set her things down. Catching the eyes of a few people who were murmuring the girl rolled her eyes as the wind blew her hair slightly in her face. As Tasia was walking a few musicians she didn't know approached her which made Tasia tense up a little. What did they want,"Uh...Hi" Tasia said as she continued walking. The new comers kept behind her before one finally spoke,"Your playing in the festival right aren't you?" Tasia turned her head and gave a look a like "duh" and started to get annoyed until the last one spoke,"Why didn't you become a musician? Now I guess we all know who's actually the better player. Van is" Tasia was about to drop everything she had and punch the kid,but she kept her cool to not start anything.
Tasia stopped walking for once. While the groups were forming in ninth grade Tasia had the choice to become a musician. Heck there was even gossip that she could've become the leader, but she completely ignored it to become a beloved. Why? Because. Tasia had her different motives and if she wanted more power within the school she needed to be a beloved to do that. Even if she wasn't the leader being a known one was going to work in her favor. As the wind blew the girl felt her arms getting pretty tired from holding her instruments. Probably should've taken up Estelle's offer. Whatever. Tasia responded without looking at any of them,"Because. I don't care. Van is my mutual friend and I'd like to say we're on an even keel. After all he is pretty good" Tasia responded nochalantly. She started walking again leaving the other musicians behind as she reached back stage.
Tasia then set up a place for her instruments and started warming up a little with her voice. After a while Van took the stage and she listened very intently. He still had it. Very nice pieces, but Tasia was not going to let that get the best of her. After all it was a competition. After Van did his thing she went to her backpack and pulled out her launch pad along with her computer. From there Tasia started working her stuff.

Seeing that there wouldn’t be any sudden altercation between the leader of the Gurus and a Techie, Tati visibly relaxed even more than she before. Not knowing what was going to happen in those few seconds was enough to have the young woman on her toes so she’d be happy when it was finally done for the moment. She’d listen to those around her, taking note of how the group had seemed to get larger and larger as people joined but it seemed to finally calm down.

She’d be listening intently to Hadley and June until the intercom screeched to life. The festival was about to begin and if they didn’t get moving now, they’d miss getting a good spot. She’d smile at both of her friends, giving an excited kind of squeal.

“Good luck June!” She’d said, sending him a thumbs up before turning to Camilla.

“Good luck to you Cami. You’re going to do great. Don’t get nervous up there either! I promise you I’ll jump up on stage and act a fool if need be.” She’d say with a small laugh before waving them goodbye.

Turning towards Hadley, she’d follow along, looking around curiously.

“I hope she doesn’t back out.” She’d say after a moment, glancing up at Hadley with a worried smile. They’d finally find their place and Tati would look around, giving a small huff when her view was momentarily obstructed. Then it would officially start. The hosts would come up and speak and the first contestant would finally make their way.

It would be Van, a guy she knew about but never really talked to. One of the musicians just like Moses. His performance would be good and Tatiana would roughly enjoy his music, clapping loud and yelling out a loud ‘whoop’ in response.

It made her wish that she could have been musically inclined but Tati had never really bothered to learn. Maybe she’d spend her next summer learning an instrument so she could participate. She’d think about it momentarily before deciding that no- she wouldn’t have wanted to anyway.

“I wonder who is up next,” Tatiana would shot toward Hadley over the yelling. “Are they going to be better than that Van kid or worse?!”

Cesar
A hater is just a friend who takes judgment too far

Cesar jumped out his mothers car and booked it into the school as they arrived and kissed her goodbye. As He passed the flowers nearby some of the petals fell off because of Cesar’s raw speed. He was already running pretty late so Cesar ran into the office and waited impatiently as the person at the desk gave out bands very slowly. As her got his Cesar started running again but this time trying not to damage his instruments he needed for the concert. It was very hard as Cesar made his way through the crowd of people and politely saying sorry every time he accidently bumped someone. After a while Cesar found the stage and set his stuff down to where he found Tasia sitting on her computer.

“Hey Tasi! I’m going out to make new friends but text me when you’re about to go kay” Tasia only turned and nodded her head in response. Their parents were business partners so they met over the summer. They had become to be great friends having a very strong bond together through music. As Cesar was walking he saw a hotdog stand. He was pretty hungry so he started towards the scrumptious hotdog stand, but this guy he bumped into and apologized to earlier got pretty mad when he saw Cesar because he didn’t like how Cesar forgot to apologize. Cesar was all of sudden swept off his feet and in the air from the dude charging him. As he prepared for a hard collision Cesar was too late and fell onto a boy in line for a dog head on. Cesar hit the boy's back and completed his tumble when everything stopped by him falling onto the asphalt back of the head first. The fall hit Cesar hard so he was very confused for a couple of moments. As her lied there on the ground Cesar somewhat sat up and felt his head. Skull completely in tact. That was all that mattered. The millions of brain cells lost were going to be lost at one point anyways. Profoundcactus Profoundcactus

Kevin nodded along to Jay’s answer as if he were a bobblehead. Jay’s response flooded Kevin with a kind of relief, and the vagueness of the answer didn’t do anything to get rid of that relief. In fact, if anything it nourished it. She’d responded to him, he was talking to someone he actually knew now, and what she’d said didn’t require a deep response from him. An easy conversation to carry. Score.
As soon as she turned his question back on him, he opened his mouth to reply, but as fate would have it, the intercom crackled on, interrupting him. His head snapped towards the speaker closest to him and listened intently, even if the voice wasn’t coming from that speaker in specific. Hey, he was making an effort, m’kay? It finished, and he turned back to Jay. “Lotsa math for me, too.”
As Camilla took her leave, he waved after her, smiling brightly as usual even if he didn’t particularly care. “Have fun!”
Jay’s hand motion caught his attention, and he turned back to her, mouth shutting, lips puckering as he gave her his full attention. He nodded more as she suggested finding somewhere to watch. She smiled, and he smiled back, though seeing as he was always smiling, it might not have been that obvious. What could he say? It was kinda cute she wanted to watch her brother perform, even if there wasn’t much else to do. It was nice to see people support their family.
“Sure thing!” He began navigating through the moving crowd, trying to find somewhere they would both be able to see from. Every once in awhile, he turned around to check he hadn’t lost her. This sea of people was barely tolerable as it was; he didn’t know if he’d be able to cope without a friend. In his rush to get from one place to the next, he didn’t notice her sigh. Finally, they ended up somewhere near the front, and not a moment too soon, as the first performer was walking on stage.
He couldn’t help but smile and wave back to the guy coming onto the stage. Silently, he watched the following spectacle unfold, entranced. Honestly, he’d swipe right for this guy… theoretically. There was just something about how passionate he was, the way he seemed to get caught up in the music, the energy he emanated. He looked so happy up there, everyone’s eyes on him, watching him, and Kevin almost wished he’d decided to perform. Almost. He might have liked the energy of it all, and the happiness this was obviously causing, but he didn’t like people, and all the people currently watching Van would end up watching Kevin if he did that, and honestly, that much attention was something he could always do without. Still, watching someone else do this was entrancing. Eventually, he stopped, exiting the stage, and yeah, Kevin clapped.
“Omg, that was great. Wasn’t that great, Jay?” he said, awe-struck, forgetting for a moment her brother was performing.

Van would feel pretty happy with the outcome of his performance. The crowd had seemed to love it and he’d damn sure loved it himself. He’d even seen Eden in the front, screaming at him. It had made him want to laugh at the sight of her but he greatly appreciated it. Seeing his friends being supportive of his passion always left him feeling warm inside. He’d hoped that Lottie had seen at least part of his performance and briefly wondered if Muna had reached the school by then.

His second question would be answered however when Muna would pop up beside him. He’d give a small snicker, wrapping an arm around her shoulder.

“Hey there, pudding pop!” He’d teasingly greet her, giving her a small squeeze as he leaned forward to look at the picture she’d taken. He’d grin at the sight of it and give a nod.

“I look pretty damn good. It amazes me that you get my good side all the time.” He’d comment, looking at her before taking a moment to look around at the rest of the contestants. Some of them were familiar faces but none were really anyone he was particularly close to.

He’d, however, see June and give out a shout to his friend, sending a wave his way when he caught his attention before looking back at Muna.

“Hey you wanna grab some food? I’m a bit hungry-“ He’d find himself being cut off at the announcement of Lottie playing and blinked. “On second thought? It can wait. I wanna see Lottie.”

Eli shifted his gaze from the Latina over to the stage where the first performer emerged. Eli wiped the slight sweat off of his brow as the people began to crowd closer together near the stage in the beating sun, yet he had to smile. He knew Van was about to tear the stage up. He inched closer to the front, his exposed arms in the tank top swiping against some of the more sweatier folk but not stopping him in his path as he also pulled Rosalina along the little distance forward.

He listened with increasing hype as the guy came on with a classic introduction, not wasting time to fill music into the peoples ears. Public Service announcement, the introductory lines Eli had often used in order to get that adrenaline pumping through his veins on those Friday Night pre-games, though with a little spin to the lyrics as Van cut in at the end. The speakers booming at the beat drop caused Eli to jump up and down bobbing his head to the music. Though one sound that cut through the crowd caused him to pause and whip his head around before the Latina was shoved into him.

Eden Summers, looking like heaven on earth as she shot a little look over to him and Rosalina. He almost forgot that he had come to the event with the harlot as the Techie came into view. She was fine from her eyes to her thighs, the sun giving her mocha skin a glow as she stood before Eli, sass and all.

The sound of Van's piano playing moved Eli's body all on it's own as he licked his bottom lip moving past Rosalina and towards Eden.
"So this is what you do at school, huh?" She said as her brown eyes locked on to his, the beat quickening. He grinned un-phased by the slight shade she had thrown "Only when I'm not chasing after you." He said with a smirk as the man on stage sadly finished his performance and took off for the next one to come on.

He clapped his hands along with Eden cheering Van's name out and the wide approval of the amped up crowd.
"I'd jump on that stage right now and tap dance if it meant you screaming my name." He said an amused look on his face, "Of course.. I have other ways of achieving that." He said with a wink his white teeth shining with his grin as he stepped closer to her.

"I would ask you how your summer went but I know the days you spent with me were amazing." He joked giving her a slight nudge "You lucky the school held a music festival instead of a madden tournament or I'd have to bust your ass in front of all ya techie friends." He said knowing the girl had frustratingly beat him more times in madden then he has ever beaten her... A lot more times. He looked around at the faces looking for anyone who had came along with Eden. "So you came to support Van with friends? Or am I going to be attached at your hip for the rest of this festival?"

Aleksej glanced at Estelle, arching an eyebrow at her brisk exit from the little circle. His gaze drifted back to Charlotte. Whatever. Estelle could sort herself. A slight smile graced his lips at his crush's response. Upon seeing her blush when she looked at him, he wondered if he was dreaming and dismissed it. They were just friends, however wistful he felt about the distance that yawned between them though it was his fault admittedly.

"Why not?" he asked with a shrug. "It'd stand out too, for sure. Anyway," he took a look around, "we should head into the festival. No fun in loitering here all day."

Once he said it, he turned to lead the way in. He caught sight of Vandyke already beginning to wrap up his performance.

"Lottie," he called, "when will you be up?"

Just as he asked that, the announcer called for her. Aleksej didn't show it but he felt slightly troubled.

"Oh, it's your turn. Go up and show everyone what you're made of," he added. The words felt a little false for him and he dully wondered since when did he forget how to encourage friends.

It's taken 5ever, my apologies.

.:Erik M. Nielson:.

Erik’s eyes fell on the sausage that was offered to him. He grinned and bit into it, not even bothering to take it from Sabina’s fingers. He only seized it into his own hand when he was sure it was about to fall from his lips. The flavor burst on his tongue and he nodded in approval, genuinely surprised by the quality of the food. Regardless, the inner-snob within him made him remark that he had still tasted better.

"Thank you, my love," he remarked playfully.

His gaze landed on sweet, little Eden and he smile, amused by her excitement for their classmate Van. How could they not follow suit when she seemed so genuinely enthused? He shrugged in Sabina's direction and motioned for her to follow with a grand swiping gesture of his arm. Laughing at his own dramatics, he proceeded forward, all but a few strides behind Eden.

The stage came into view and Erik cracked a wry grin. While he was sure there were to be multiple exemplary performers, there would subsequently be mediocrity in the mix as well. And that would surely be entertaining.

He was instantly pulled from his malevolent thoughts by the sound of Rosalina's voice. A fellow harlot with whom he generally liked. She was with the athlete, Elijah Riley, someone Erik mentally referred to as Big Shot. As it was a conversation that involved him in no way, he replaced his gaze on Van as he began his performance. Van, he knew, was musically gifted and would not disappoint. Erik crossed his arms over his chest and listened to the music, all the while occasionally looking in Eden's direction, just to make sure she was alright. He heard the words Elijah was speaking to her and laughed to himself. He supposed that was one way to attract a woman's attentions, though he was almost certain that kind of phrasing would not have much effect Eden. He was being particularly lewd and Erik found himself frowning in response. While Erik was indeed a Harlot, he never treated any of the girls with whom he had relations with any disrespect.

He chewed on the inside of his cheek in thought. There was not much to think about; he knew Eden was capable of handling herself, but it was out of character for him not to make any snarky comments.

Turning towards Sabina, he raised a pale eyebrow. "What do you make of this display? And here I thought he was pining for our Rosalina..."

.:Charlotte "Lottie" Day:.

A cool breeze followed Estelle and her crew as she passed by Lottie, causing the redhead to noticeably blink in surprise. Something had clearly displeased the Beloved Queen, though the Musician had not a clue what it could be. Estelle had bid them a curt farewell, but not without shooting a chilly glance in Nathan’s direction.

Uh oh, Nathan must be trouble, she concluded.

Lottie looked between both boys and wondered if either of them had picked up on anything. She brushed a few stray curly locks behind her ear and decided that she should just ignore it. It was probably no big deal. At least, that was what she hoped for; the last thing she needed was to indulge in Beloved dramatics.

A smile spread across her face when Nathaniel voiced his opinion and she found herself give a gentle laugh.
"Then a wicked flute solo the people shall have."

Her eyes flicked towards Aleksej when he spoke, taking note of a subtle smile. He should do that more often, she mused to herself. In fact, she wished he would; he had such a handsome smile and its appearance made her feel like less of a stranger.

And he was absolutely right: if Lottie was truly intending to compete she should get out there as soon as possible. She could hear thee conclusion of Van's performance and her breathe caught in her throat. Oh no. It had completely slipped her mind how early he was set to perform and now she would only get a small fraction of his set. I'm the worst, she cursed herself. She was most definitely going to make it up to him, no doubt about it. Now it was in her best interest to hurry.

She walked towards the direction of the Festival beside Aleksej, but not before turning towards Nathaniel. "You coming?"

Before she could respond to Aleksej, she heard her name being called. She turned to him, green eyes widening in a slight panic.

"Shit, shit, shit," she muttered under her breath as she raked her fingers through her hair nervously.
The blond's words did little to comfort her, though she was not so sure whether it was her anxiety that caused her to not believe him or something else. She smiled reassuringly anyhow and subconsciously touched his arm. "Thanks, Alek."

Her eyes flicked between both boys, and she laughed in spite of herself. "Well, here goes. Maybe I'll catch you guys later!"

And with that, she was bolting down the hallways in pursuit of the stage.

Drawing nearer, her eyes caught Muna and Van in the crowd and hugged them both rather haphazardly. "I love you both, I'm so sorry this greeting is super rushed--" She grabbed Van's face in between her hands, squishing his cheeks rather comically. "And I am so so so so sorry that I didn't get to see your performance, but I heard it and you were as phenomenal as always. I will make it up to you, I swear, but, like, not right now because apparently it's my turn." She cracked a wry grin and disappeared before either one of her best friends could respond.

She took deep breaths to compose herself, feeling the prickliness of anxiety shed from her skin. She lived for this kind of thing, so there was no reason to be nervous. Her feet carried her to the front of the stage, where she adjusted the microphone to accommodate her short stature. Once she was sure that was satisfactory, she picked up her flute case, unfastening the the clips with the flick of her thumb. She quickly assembled the flute's pieces and brought it up near her face.

"Hey, everybody," she announced with a grin. "My name is Lottie Day and I'm going to play a little flute for you guys."

She licked her lips, already mentally deciding what it was she was going to play. As of late, she had been experimenting with jazz and beat-boxing techniques and she hd so badly wanted to show it off to people and there was no better opportunity than that very moment.

"This here is my take on Rodgers and Hammerstein's 'My Favorite Things'," she continued. "Hope ya like it!"

The moment the cool metal touched her lips, she was in the zone, beginning the song with a prefacing riff before she really tore into it, adding on her own improvisations as it continued. Jazz was her favorite genre due to the artistic freedom one could take while playing. The possibilities were endless as she continued to back-phrase and incorporate a little beat-boxing here and there to drastically change the beat and still bring it back to its original composition. With jazz, she could always put her own twist to a song and what artist would not want to indulge in that kind of freedom.

She found herself moving with the music, really getting the flow of it up until she riffed the last line and she found herself finished. Her face felt flushed and her lungs were working a little harder than usual, though Lottie was far from surprised. Playing the flute could really knock the wind out of someone if they weren't careful.

Lottie dipped into a bow and waved out at the crowd. "And that's all I got for today. Thank you!"

She jumped from the stage and made her way into the crowd, to open it up for the next contestant.

.:For those who want an idea of how she sounds:
