Fantasy Kolan and The Raven Guild

Rhi'on: The Phantom Thief
Celebrating the Spoils
Drinking at a Pub

Rhi'on sat in the tavern with an empty pint. It has become a habit, ever since he was able to tolerate a drink he had hit up the barkeep after a spree. He never thought that it was then he was most vulnerable. After all, he was going to be hung over and defenseless. Literally anyone who could recognize his white hair could point him out.

That's why today, he's going to learn the hard way.

He gave his regards to the barkeep, and made his leave. Of course, he didn't make it far. It was to be expected, so he at least didn't pass out on the street; for he was smarter than that. He waltz over to a nearby tree, leaned back and closed his eyes. The lean slowly regressed into him sitting down, clutching his legs. After that, he dozed off, free to be captured.

The man nodded at the guild's response. "Thank the heavens you lot are in Niniva." He glanced over to the side, checking if anyone's behind him. "Rumor has it that this thief has wandered from all over Kolan. Barkeeps tell of a white, pale, figure. A phantom, they say," he explained. "And it's not just his skin, he has white hair and dull eyes, as if the life was stolen from him."

He motioned for them to come outside, as he'd led them to a shady spot under a tree, for the day was hot and he didn't want to cause discomfort- either to himself or the ones who is aiding him.

"I thought it was just a mother's tale, but I saw a man of that description run off from here," he pointed from the other end of the stalls. "He came through, as if he was chasing something. If I wasn't gonna head to the tavern for a pint, I wouldn't be any the wiser. However, I swore I had three coins with me," he emptied his pockets, further supplementing their emptiness. "However, they were gone once he passed me.

"Fools like me had lost some coin here. Although, there's a snowflake's chance in Kolan that he's still hanging around, even he couldn't have made it far."

The man shut his trap afterwards, and let the Guild take the lead.

Little did he know, the thief was literally right next to them. The same tree they were under, was the same where Therion was dozing off.

'If you would rather spend more effort speaking or yelling from the deck, then be my guest. I only quelled your worry that I would even have the vaguest of interest in anything in your hold. Beyond that, adjust the course of the ship a little. Some sirens took a swipe at someone on the port side (Zirla) and I'm sure you'd rather the men you command NOT willingly plunge into a watery grave.'
The vampires voice in her head agian made her snarl but her made a good point about the sirens. Which annoyed her more. Though before she could give the orders Anahita listened to R avus for a few moments.

Again. It seemed the Vampire had made it a habit to speak through mind, as Ship Captain Anahita said. While it was by no mean harmful, the thought that he could read the mind of people around him gave Ravus a sense of discomfort. He had learnt of the value of privacy while he lived among the Damned; sometimes secrets were better kept as secrets to maintain harmony within a community. The ability to read mind went against this principle. He hadn't learnt much of mental magic, but it wouldn't hurt to learn it, perhaps? Confirming that Henry Sask had stopped sending mental messages toward Ship Captain Anahita, Ravus gave his answer. "It cannot be said that I am the most knowledgeable regarding the matter of the guild," he started with a clarification "my information should be on the same level of Roland, lower than Miss Calla yet higher than Henry Sask or the... dragonling." Ravus' relation with the dragon and Henry Sask was complicated. While his wariness toward the dragon came from past experience, there was something disagreeable in Henry Sask. A chasm he couldn't understand. Maybe his hesitation to ask the master in mental magic to teach him about divination stemmed from this distortion. "Miss Calla Rose, human, is the Raven Guild Master. Roland, shapeshifter, and I, Ravus, elemental, were among the early recruit of the guilds. We have gone through precisely one quest, which end satisfactorily. The current request require us to escort a passenger ship safely from Hybridios to the destination." The dark elemental made a pause here. The dark essence around him intercepted a mental message heading to Ship Captain Anahita, but he couldn't stop it nor hear its content. He frowned again. Not everyone was comfortable with mental message, himself included. "For the dragonling and Henry Sask, this is their first official quest. I apologise for any trouble or discomfort they cause i the future on the behalf of the guild, Ship Captain Anahita," with an apologetic tone, Ravus continued. He made a slight bow with his body. A gesture he performed often, yet look a bit unnatural due to the fact that he had nothing under his torso.
Anahita nodded, seemed like this Calla Rose was secretive with her on members. Though perhaps the newness of the guilds that may be the reason behind Ravus' lack of knowledge. His words on the vampire amused her some what. The mental menace was a new recruit and yet acted like he owned the guild. that showed a lot on his ego didn't it.

While it seemed like Ravus was heargin something, the vampire most likely Anahita shouted some orders to adjust the ship's course. "Sirens on our tail all of you get your charms give extras to the guild members. Even you Aces better take one. " Though once the necklaces of little charmed shells were passed out, there was one person who would be with out one. "Looks like you're going into the hold, those songs will charm even the strongest of you all. And its worse when trying to fight 'em. " Better hope they were only interested in the fish and now the potential food on the boat. Usually Sirens only liked to mess with sailors but some do try to sink ships for looting or take sailors for food, or fun. Anahita's days as a Siren toy were long over, man do Sirens hate to be dumped.

'SIren's toy? Hm.... curious.' the man thought to himself. He couldn't exactly see the captain as a Siren's pet given how unruly she had proven herself to be... but then again, it could be what made her become the way she is. Henry was a kind hearted family man... once upon a time.

The silk-cladden noble heaved a long sigh as he was well aware of who exactly was going to end up without a paddle. The psychic mentally spoke to all members of the guild along with the captain of the ship and her first mate. 'I'm already down in the hold and I can put several psychic blocks in my mind to prevent a siren's song from affecting me. That being said, I won't be able to hear or see anyone with my physical senses so all communication with me will be purely mental.... to the dismay of many I'm sure.

Distribute the charms among all of the guild members. Ravus, my awareness of things in the water around the ship will be dulled with these psychic blocks in place. The new ability you discovered last night will be instrumental in keeping us all safe. I would have you lend us that strength. I will be able to see what you see."

Though the Half-Fae's reaction was minimal as she really only directed her attention towards the noisy townsman, raising a brow slightly and folding her arms over each other before glancing to Calla as the lead Raven spoke. Arleth returned a sort of deadpan look that was indiscernible before her expression broke into a toothy grin that unabashedly displayed the straight rows of her pointy, white teeth. Again, the exact motivation behind this expression was indiscernible but it was joined with a simple, "of course," which Arleth surmised was an appropriate response to both Calla's question and statement.
"I thought it was just a mother's tale, but I saw a man of that description run off from here," he pointed from the other end of the stalls. "He came through, as if he was chasing something. The same tree they were under, was the same where Therion was dozing off.
She followed the man with Arleth, standing by the tree and listening intently. The fae nodded, walking around the tree to think on his words for a moment. Coming across a sleeping man, to her he reeked of liquor, among other smell. Her foot kicked him lightly, he didn't wake. He did seem to fit the description of some sort of phantom. "Is this the man sir?" Calla leaned over to look at Arleth and the thief's victim.

The man looked over, his eyes widening in realization. He nodded vigorously, not wanting to say anything in fear of waking the ma who stole his money. Call spoke in a low voice to Arleth. "Come over to his other side, I'll bind him you search for the stolen money if he hasn't spent it all." She knelt down beside Therion, using magic on the grass beside them, the blade lengthening and braiding until it became ropes that coiled around his hands and feet. "An enchantment on the ropes may be useful to keep him asleep until we give him to the authorities. "

Anahita looked at her first mate as the vampire spoke again. Her gaze turned sharply to her closest crew member, "Bar the hold, he doesn't come out and no one goes in. Anything breaches the hull, he's on his own." Her voice serious as she rubbed her thumb over the charm constantly around her own neck, a simple pink seashell, glistening as enchantment on it was renewed by her touch. A trick that took her years to learn on her own. It took a lot of her power but her magical ability wasn't what she used to fend off creatures and sail the sea.

"Farecan." She shouted. "You're on protection, ice preferred, the rest of you, get this ship through these waters, the sirens already have us in their sight, adjusting course may not shake em if they feel ever so persistent tonight." The captain turned to the guild members. "Looks like you quest may have a started before its begun, any fighters better be able to fight damn well on a ship." The ship rocked as something hit it below. She cursed and went to the wheel. "Full sails! Marei, winds!" The wind elemental she shouted at nodded and started to help give them speed. The ship rocked sharply again, worse than before. Henry could sense more than three sirens for sure around the ship, much more...

Rhi'on: The Phantom Thief
Aprehended
Currently Being Stopped and Frisked

In reaction to this sudden apprehension, he fluttered his eyes open. He wanted to cover a yawn when he awoke from his slumber, however his hands were bound by some form of green rope. He squirmed about for a moment, but realized it's futility.

Instead of continuing to struggle, he began to assess the situation before him. His dull, gray eyes, scanning the scene. They moved slightly, and blinked even more slowly. He saw 3 figures, a man of insignificant appearance. To him, he must have been just a tavern regular. The other two he had to scan more carefully.

He first scanned the woman with white hair. She had a bruise that covered most of her left cheek. Scar- a name he subconsciously gave her.
Since he woke up, he didn't want to bother to think too much more about it. He moved on to examine the 3rd figure.

It was a woman of black hair and white skin. Albino- the name he gave her. After all, he doesn't know who they are.

Alright, he concluded. I have been apprehended, most likely because that man, whom I stole from, whined about me. He thought.
It dawned on him that he was caught.

In response to this conclusion, he furrowed his brow. He was not in a position to do anything. The worst they can do is rob him dry. He had 5 gold coins left on him, and he also had his weaponry. They can't take his feet or his arms he thought, I should be fine then.

He also considered the idea if he was gonna be handed over to the local authorities, and subconsciously smiled in the back of his mind.
I've been caught before. Guards in Kolan are easy to pickpocket, so I guess it'll just be a one-night stay in the slammer for me.

After concluded his line of thought, he closed his eyes, feigning sleep. After all, he was mute. If they wanted a confession out of him, tough luck.

"By the Gods, he is!" he whispered. The man looked at the man before him. No, this is not a man. he thought. "He's but a wee child," he noted. The tavern regular sighed, "He's a lanky one too, I bet you he hasn't had a bite in ages." He referred to Rhi'on's thin, bony structure. It was true, it's been a while since Rhi'on had any food.

He tried to hold in his surprise at Calla's way of binding him. The poor lad was asleep, only to be bounded up by hands and feet. However, there was something that did alarm him.

The poor boy's eyes fluttered opened. Rhi'on struggled for a bit. The man met the boy's dull gray eyes. As he was struggling, he saw a glimmer of metal. This gave the poor regular an idea that there was a fight about to start. After all, there's so much that grass can do to contain a person.

"Oy! The lad's armed!" he exclaimed. "I'm not going to get myself into a brawl, you can deal with it!" He then made his exit.

Ravus felt his heart went cold. Even about his Astral Eyes, he knew? He sealed his room with darkness essence last night. No magic could pass through his door without him knowing about it. The probable explanation... he had read his memory.

Shock turned to anger. Was he to have no secret from a mentalist? His arrogance only fueled the fire. Henry Sask was not on the deck. Even if he wanted to rip off his face, he would need to dismantle the barricade of the hold. Doing so would endanger their passage.

So what?

I'm sorry, but I refuse to open my mind to one who does not know the meaning of privacy.

His voice echoed within the hold, seething with icy wrath.

What was Astral Eyes? Ravus projecting his mind to a cluster of darkness essence. How difficult projecting a voice would compare to projecting a mind?

Emotion was a strong fuel for esoteric magic which relies on a symbiotic relationship with the users. Ravus had often used his affinity to darkness in order to hide his presence in the past. However, it required his conscious will and action to do so. The reason being, there was no need for a permanent cover for his presence, even during the war. The intrusion of his mind changed it.

Darkness essence formed a layer around his mind. His body, permeable to darkness essence, did not disrupt the process. A layer of protection for his thought. In essence, it was not something that fell under Mental Magic. Ravus utilised his darkness essence to create an energy barrier to simulate how a mental barrier would work. A Pseudo Mental Magic, if you may.

I will extend my sense to the surrounding of the ship

This time, his voice echoed everyone on board. The voice overlapped with each other, like how one would sound inside a cave. His voice projection, making use of darkness as a conduit, reached every part of the ship. Ravus hovered toward the hull, where the wind elemental, Marei, was blowing wind above him. Ravus drew his sword.

Roland, I will depend upon you

With him immobile and Henry under deck, Roland would be the only one able to fight freely on board, discounting the dragonling. Perhaps it would be easier for Ravus to let Henry hijack his sense. However, his pride would not let him. Ravus activated his Astral Eyes, and his sense went beyond the ship. He saw the waves, the water, and everything hidden below.

Roland had waited for the dragonling to respond but found his attention drawn to Ravus and the Captain - the telltale signs of telepathy being at work with sudden shifts on their faces were evident. Was it their resident vampire then? Roland held no secrets to hide from his fellow people, though from how they reacted, it did not seem that Henry valued any sort of privacy. Roland had encountered mental magic before. He had, indeed, given them any information that they wished - not that he could stop them. But there was something about privacy that was important to others. But well oh well, it didn't bother Roland that much. Let him read his past - there was nothing that stood out.

He then looked back at the captain as she began barking orders - sirens. Roland had never really been affected by them mostly because he rarely travelled by boat and they didn't exactly think to sing to a raven who's flying above the water. Roland gratefully accepted the charm and wrapped it around his neck - a small smirk on his face as he looked at the shell pendant with interest.

"Do you think sirens hate being carried above water?" He mused, more of a thought than an actual question. He leaned on the edge, not bothered by the rocking of the boat. He couldn't see anything from where he was. "Do they like being taken out of water? Hm..." The musing of the cheerful shifter was more out of boredom than genuine curiosity.

When Henry began speaking through their minds again, pointing out the fact that it had to be mental communication, he couldn't help but laugh out loud - more of a chuckle really. "Like it's any different from how you usually communicate, eh, Sask?" The shifter joked. They never really talked using their words aside from the initial introduction. So really, for Roland, it was like the usual. Maybe if Henry couldn't actually talk to them at all, then it would have been something special.

He then pushed himself off of the edge, the rocking intesnifying and the possibility of him being thrown overboard was greater than what was comfortable. He looked towards Ravus as his shadowy echoey voice projected in the deck. "Roger that Ravus!" He cheerily said before taking out his bow and then took to the side of the ship. He didn't have any targets yet so he felt like they were still in the clear. Once they started though, he just hoped there weren't too many. "Don't tire yourselves out yet. We still have another mission after this yeah?" He reminded both Henry and Ravus, worried that they may exert too much effort and leave no more energy for later.

A mental chuckle echoed throughout the ship. Mainly because of Roland's attitude to the whole situation but a small portion was for Ravus. The vampire actually hadn,'t searched the shadow's memories and he was now wasting energy in creating a primitive but effective shell to block Henry out. The elder undead could push through with some time and effort but unlike their dark leader, he knew there was a time and place and this was not it.

'You are correct, Ser Eltrask.' Henry replied, his tone unfittingly humorous for the situation. 'Though as you have noticed, not everyone is so appreciative of it. BUt then again, as you said, you have nothing to hide. It seems Ravus wants to kill me for it, however.'

'He must have quite a few secrets for one so you- about 6 degrees to the left from where your aiming. Fire a few arrows. You'll hit a few- For one so young.'

Henry then turned his attention to the captain, 'We are currently surrounded and more are on the way. Don't be alarmed if you are suddenly moved.' As if on queue, one of the sailors was shoved aside by some invisible force just in time to avoid a sliding barrel of gunpowder used for the cannons. 'Similar to that. Also, I would suggest not tiring out the wind mage above. If the sirens are determined, we will not be able to outrun them. Her abilities will help keep them off the deck in a pinch. Though, I suspect you knew this.'

One of the sirens lept elegantly out of the dark waves below and very nearly made it to the deck. That is, until fishlike features flattened abruptly as if she ran headlong into a castle wall. In the blink of an eye, her limp unconscious form was blown backwards as if kicked by a giant. She soared far away from the naval vessel and splashed into the cold waters.

She wasn't dead but once she woke up, she would surely be dissuaded from trying again. After all, she wasn't malovelent. That siren was merely mischievious. There were quite a few that felt otherwise and their bloodlust practically painted the sea red for Henry.

He didn't have the time or energy to search the reasons as to why the sirens were after them, but the Captain's earlier thoughts pricked the vampire's suspicions. If they were here for her, things would not be pretty once this was all over.

However, his pride would not let him. Ravus activated his Astral Eyes, and his sense went beyond the ship. He saw the waves, the water, and everything hidden below.
Ravus could see the swarm around them some to the sirens swimming full speed at the hull, either trying to tip the ship or rip through the hull as some were scraping at the wood. Some of the sirens were young looking and beautiful, others had barnacles on their skin, coral growing out of them, seaweed for hair, others gnarled hands with claws. angler fish like teeth protruding out of them. deep sea mermaids usually don't bother with the pain of swimming up this high unless it was truly important to them.
He then pushed himself off of the edge, the rocking intesnifying and the possibility of him being thrown overboard was greater than what was comfortable. If they were here for her, things would not be pretty once this was all over.
Anahita cursed as the siren almost made it on deck. A harsher cursed escaped her as her crewman was slid to the side, she didn't like giving the vampire the satisfaction of how useful that was. Passing her elemental she told them to keep it up for a while longer but to quit once it was clear they couldn't shake the danger mermaids even by leaving their territory. "Jeon! I want to know why the hell these musical fish are on our tail!?" She shouted as she kept the ship on course, "Some one make sure this ship stays topside!" The whole thing seemed to lurch in every direction every other moment. Her first mate just looked at her wide eyed and told her he didn't know. Which a certain some one would note the dishonestly in his head.

Henry in the hold could see and the goods and supplies falling and moving with each lurch. items falling and tumbling about as the scratches of claws could be heard from those wanting entrance to the ship. The music was muffled by the water outside. A chest would stand out sliding in the corner of the hull, that and the personal effects in the sailor's hammocks jangled around as the sirens kept up their assault.

(Mobile)

Henry's face visibly twitched when he noticed the first mate's lie. He couldn't afford to search deeper without risking the ship or his own well-being. He also couldn't risk telling the captain at this time. She trusted him and laying down news like that would take time. He would need to convince her and they not only didn't have the time but they ALL needed her focused on the task at hand. No one could afford any distractions right now. Least of all, Henry and the female captain.

That being said....

Several dainty, but frighteningly strong hands finally punched through the hull. Henry's focus shifted to those arms sticking through and he spared no mercy. The elder vampire placed a frightening amount of pressure just on the elbow joints of the sirens. A literal mental vice. He applied even greater pressure quickly and simultaneoulsy twisted at them, contorting the joint into unnatural angles.

it was mere seconds until the joints popped out of place and few more seconds their joints popped out of their bodies. Henry had placed equal parts pressure and contortion on siren elbows until they were literally torn off. Sea water began to enter the hold with the diluted crimson of siren blood.

The psychic's brow furrowed in frustration at the situation. Henry didn't exactly need to "breathe" to survive but the hold flooding with water didn't bode well for anyone. Even Henry wouldn't be able to last against Sirens on their home turf. Luckily, the hold wasn't anywhere near filling but how long would it be until it became a problem....

The tanned noble would normally just plug the holes with some pyschic "tape" but he couldn't afford to loosen the hold on his senses blanketing everything within and around the ship. Gods forbid something even more dangerous comes about and Henry didn't trust Ravus to warn everyone in time. At least, not better than he could.

Two more sirens jumped out of the sea and met the same fate as the previous one. Pyschically regurgitated back out into the sea, unconscious and limp.

'A few holes have been popped in the hold. It's not serious but the ship has begun to take on some water. ' the vampire sent to the captain. It was up to her whether she would relay that to the crew

The hull

Ravus snapped back to his body, only to once again feel a migraine. The backlash of Astral Eyes was not as strong, but it still annoyed him to an extent. He shook his head, staring at the wild sea to ease the throbbing pain on his head. It was lucky he didn't have legs anymore. Otherwise, he would be lurching all over the deck like the rest of the crews.

Once he managed to concentrate, Ravus gathered the darkness essence in the area in front of him, forming a too familiar figure; a clone. It was no normal clone, however. It wore no cloak, nor did it had a sword. Where there supposed to be nothing, a pair of fin protruded from the lower part of the torso. Its teeth were jagged; sharp. An aquatic beast.

Go

Without any verbal command, it jumped into the water once completely formed. The darkness beast headed for the sirens gathered at the hull, glaring silently at the creatures. With sharp claws, it slashed at the uglier sirens, aiming to bite off their neck.

Ravus was not well versed in vassal battle. It was not a lie. However, he had spent two months travelling the ship on his own person, only accompanied by Vale, the water elemental. The two of them had traversed the Arcane Sea together, meeting strange creatures and beasts perhaps unknown to mortals. He was no stranger to sirens. And the appearance of their uglier, more mysterious sisters at the surface brought suspicion.

Everyone, the sirens, beautiful and hideous, are aiming at the hull. Focus on killing the Sirens over there.

His voice echoed all over the ship. He continued by echoing a message near the captain.

Hideous Sirens rarely surfaced. This is not normal. They must swim upward for a reason.

Of course, while he had met strange creatures, he had no way of knowing the 'proper' name for the strange creatures he met. The names he knew were the name Vale and himself used along their journey.

This reason must be found.

Of course, the only way to do so was to search the hull. Which was impossible for the Ship Captain, who need to steer the vassal. Nor was it possible for the rest of the crews, who had their task or Roland who was fighting. By elimination, the only person eligible to search for this would be...

Henry Sask. Although the irony pains me, I ask you to look through the ship's private belongings and find the item that may cause the Sirens to go after this ship. I will help you in a few minutes.

This time, his voice only echoed at the lower part of the ship. Asking someone who does not know privacy to look through personal belongings... nevertheless, if he waste time due to a silly reason, he would not dare to show his face in the guild.

After delegating informations, Ravus focused his eyes and started creating a second Darkness Aquatic Beast. Through his eyes, he could feel the first beast fighting, but the ferociousness of the Sirens meant it would not be able to kill all of them alone.

It seemed like his own take on the situation had managed to bring some form of joy to the vampire who had echoed a chuckle through their minds. Maybe it was because he was making the situation lighter than it should have been. Hopefully, their leader for the quest does not hold it against him. After all, it was all made in good fun. "Not everyone's as open as me~" He claimed before letting out another light chuckle out loud. Truly, it seemed like Roland was slowly devolving into a madman had everyone not been informed of there being a mentalist.

He had not responded but moved his aim to the left, following his precise instructions before unloading a couple of arrows. As Henry had claimed, it had hit a couple of sirens who had skulked back to the water to lick their wounds - or however sirens heal their wounds. While normally, Roland would have hit to kill, there was no time to go looking for the prey. They had more pressing matters to attend to. "I'm rather sure that both of you are older than me so I don't think I have any position on saying that Ravus is 'young'." He pointed out. Elementals and vampires live longer than shifters do, after all.

He leaned down as a siren lunged at him from - jumping out of the water to try and rip off either his weapon or his entire torso from the rest of his body. He was planning on nocking another arrow back when a dark creature had delved into the water - maiming the older and much more uglier sirens. This was Ravus's creature. Roland didn't waste time to get to the hull where, indeed, sirens had been clawing at it. He began raining a barrage of arrows upon the sirens - to either deter them from continuing or injuring them enough and convincing them to retreat.

Roland had half a mind to bring up a barrier to at least protect the hull for a short while, but he wondered how long the magic will hold against the creatures of the sea. "If you guys have a plan to get away for a while, it would be much appreciated!" He called out. He was going to run out of arrows at that rate and he didn't know if it would be a good idea to just turn into a griffin and try to fight near the water - which was out of the animal's element and completely advantegous to the sirens.

Ravus's train of thought was certainly logical but there was just one thing wrong with it. A small detail...

'Certainly ironic but not in the way you think. I sealed my sense of sight and hearing so I am not charmed by the Siren songs....

Hence why I was asking for your eyes. Instead you throw a tantrum while everyone's lives are in danger. I only heard your message because the accursed Sirens down here heard it.

Speaking of, the sirens have breached the hold down here. Their song will charm anyone who comes down and my powers are spread too thin to search for anything physically.' On queue, Henry shoved another crew member who had wandered a little to close to the ships railing and was very nearly pulled into the monster infested abyss.

'So, young one. You'll have to find another way.'

'And if we die... Know that it was your fault.'

The brief, open connection was abruptly cut off.

"Heh nah, I haven't been here long enough. I have traveled a bunch of other places though. The only reason I'm here anyway is because of Calla and now we finally got together...I hope that doesn't stop you from uhh...flirting with me. Calla understands that us elves sometimes partake in Poly relationships. And it just turns out I can't resist other women as well." he explained as he got some food for the both of them. It was some pretty amazingly smoked meat on some sandwiches, the taste was rich and had nice juicy flavor to it. "Hey umm...would you rather join Calla on her quest so that we could all get to know each other? I mean I understand if you don't..." He said with a nervous tone. He felt he was saying too much.

"And it's not just his skin, he has white hair and dull eyes, as if the life was stolen from him." He motioned for them to come outside, as he'd led them to a shady spot under a tree, for the day was hot and he didn't want to cause discomfort- either to himself or the ones who is aiding him. Although, there's a snowflake's chance in Kolan that he's still hanging around, even he couldn't have made it far." The man shut his trap afterwards, and let the Guild take the lead.

After collecting her arms which she had previously left in her room she had quickly rejoined Calla and the stranger and followed along to Niniva. She seemed to have little interest in anything the man had to say, her gaze drifting over the scenery as they made their way and no questions did she ask nor input did she offer as he related the rumors he had heard as well as his own possible encounter with the supposed phantom. Arleth hadn't even turned her eyes on the townsman once during their trip, it was only when they stopped at the tree that she finally looked directly at him, giving him the same glance from head to toe as he turned out his pockets that she had given a few of the guild members previously.

Arleth's silent scrutiny of the petty theft victim was only momentary as soon her line of sight trailed Calla when she ventured towards the other side of the tree. By body language alone it wasn't difficult to ascertain that the woman had stumbled upon something even before she spoke and that small detail had prompted the Half-Fae to follow in her footsteps, stopping slightly behind and to the side of Calla so that she might catch a glimpse of what she had come across before she questioned the man that had led them there. As Calla asked him, Arleth also looked towards the man and awaited an answer, and again through body language it was easy to determine that this was indeed the thief they had sought even before the townsman vocally declared it. That fact led her gaze to fall on the seemingly unconscious individual in question and while her expression did not show it, she simply couldn't believe that after the pilfering spree he had evidently gone on in broad daylight, how could he be so foolish as to simply fall asleep next to a tree.

As Calla addressed her she nodded slightly, striding to the other side of the tree as she was directed but not without releasing a slightly exasperated sigh. She crouched down beside the tree, the leather of her armor gently creaking with the motion, the smooth shape of her refined nose wrinkling slightly at the smell of this sorry oaf whose person she had been assigned to search and she couldn't help but mutter under her breath, "honestly..." she wondered why the guild would be notified of such a menial task while there had to be law enforcement outside of the guild, though that brought along the whole idea that maybe they were all idiots and that thought did bring a slight quirk of mirth to the edge of her tinted lips.

Rhi'on: The Phantom Thief Aprehended Currently Being Stopped and Frisked In reaction to this sudden apprehension, he fluttered his eyes open. Victim of Rhi'on's Thieving Spree Exeunt Fleeing the Scene (His usefulness has run dry.)

Despite her low to the ground position, Arleth's movements were smooth and graceful like a cat's as she moved nearer to the as of yet unnamed thief and it was only as her gloved fingertips neared his person that he then decided to grace them with his presence. Her motions easily halted as this 'phantom' seemed to be taking in his current circumstances and she continued to crouch beside him, watching him steadily as his eyes drifted from one of them to the other before finally arriving on her. It was relatively obvious that he had noticed each of them and in the instance that he closed his eyes once more, she had to wonder if he had thought them all to be a hallucination, the tethers that held him there being accounted for as some sort of drunkard's dream brought on by too much drink. One could find his reaction amusing, Arleth on the other hand turned a glance towards Calla before those multicolored eyes turned a skeptical look on the one that had brought them thence before speaking in a somewhat detached tone, "of course not, by the stench of him I would say he has been much too busy consuming his pinched coin through hops rather than mutton," yet another tally owing to the thief perhaps being plenty decent at his chosen lot while perhaps more diminished in other capacities.

As the townsman then turned tail and fled after exclaiming about the thief being armed, it was all Arleth could do to just shake her head. As though this young man were the only one present that was armed and considering he seemed to be in no physical state to actually start a fight with the two women, it didn't seem likely that there was anything for the villager to fear, though none of this put a stop to Arleth placing her hand on the knife at her hip, an easily and smoothly drawn weapon useful in such a proximity as the one she was in crouched about a foot to his side. Her gaze remained steady on him as she then addressed Calla, "he does not appear to be as stone drunk as we perhaps originally thought, Mistress. How do you wish to proceed?" To the Half-Fae, the answer was obvious. Bind him more appropriately, turn him in to the authorities, and be done with him. Though of course this was not her call and she would simply follow the orders she was given.

He was going to run out of arrows at that rate and he didn't know if it would be a good idea to just turn into a griffin and try to fight near the water - which was out of the animal's element and completely advantageous to the sirens.
Anahita cursed. Her ship was taking on water and these damned creatures were not letting up. Despite the many broken and disjointed arms the sirens retreating were being replaced by others willing to try to get further into the ship. She ordered her members to get those fish off her boat by any means necessary, repairs will be done later. If they could just, get some where or find another vessel passing by to aid, that would be a needed miracle.

The siren's songs were getting louder, they were putting all their effort into hypnotizing the vessel's crew. even with the dark beast holding them off in the water they wanted that ship ripped apart if it meant achieving their goal. Though with so many injured the attacks lightened up, but Sirens weren't with out healers. In no time the injured would swim back up to keep up the assault.

A certain first mate was getting nervous, thinking this wasn't worth all the trouble...but the pay off of what was in that chest...was worth millions of boats. This ship had to stay afloat long enough for him to get what's his to land and to a wealthy buyer.

"JEON!! Take the wheel, I'm going down there myself. Marei! if push comes to shove, we'll be going up and out! Save your magic everybody! " Anahita gave the wheel to Jeon and went to get her spear. The captain jumped into the water, the charm doing its best to protect her mind. Some sirens in the water saw her and went after her but the aquatic captain wasn't having any of it. "Tell me what you want!! else you all will rot at the bottom of this very ocean!!" she growled and speared a few of these fish, her spear enchanted to return to her with every throw. The sirens snickered and just tried to get her under their spell. Anahita did her best to send many sinking to the depths but had to return to the deck of the ship. "We need to get out of here. or keep them from sinking my ship. " Siren Blood and saltwater dripped off her. It was a fair effort going down there but she still had no answers. "Some one, open up that hold." Her voice was still and cold. What ever they wanted down in that hold they were going to get it. "Marei, everyone else, prepare to up." she yelled out viscously, sick of this fight and sick of these damned mermaids as she made her way to deal with the sirens from the inside out, the charm of hers will hold long enough to get them out of here.

"Jailing him won't put back the money he's stole nor could we track down all his victims. He won't be forthcoming or even remember all those he's taken from." Calla's hands hovered over the ropes and she whispered to make it seem like she was using a more exoteric spell to turn the grassy ropes to iron chains. making the spell last longer than the few second it could take her to do it to keep her guise up.

"We'll take him to the guild. I'll tell the authorities about him so they can have a report of it but he'll be doing the community a service by using all the quest rewards that go to towards donations on behalf of the raven guild to the city if Ninva's many charities." Calla stood up again and lifted the thief up to his feet. "There's no use to try to escape now or in the future till it seems you've paid back enough. I'm sure Niniva isn't your only hunting grounds for coins. " Calla looked at Arleth and looking pass her she caught a glimpse of Genji with that elf. Their eyes met and she looked back at the thief."Arleth you take him back to the hall and I'm sure you can manage to make him a temporary cell in the meeting room till I get back with the copies of those reports."

Rhi'on: The Phantom Thief
Staying Silent
Soon to be thrown in a cell.

The boy's expression told volumes, but his voice stayed silent. As he heard about his fate, he scowled. He lived to survive, and he isn't planning on living to serve someone else. In defiance, he sat back down, and curled up into a ball, using the new chains that he had on his arms to keep his knees together. Clearly he had no intention of moving, and was clearly fine with rotting away in a cell. I suppose escape will be more difficult then, he concluded.

Such harsh treatment reminded him of what happened to him back in the orphanage, whenever he was caught. He was locked up in a cage, no food, no human interaction. He was given water so that he didn't die. There was only a black board and the instructions: write the following phrase all over the blackboard, wash it off. and write the phrase again 5 times: "I shall not commit thievery." He ended up producing more water than he consumed during that time. Eventually, the caretakers released him, however our jailbird just ended back up in that room, doomed to write and rewrite that meaningless phrase.

He wanted to cry right there and then, but his eyes cried as much as his mouth spoke.

Instead he just kept a blank, wide-eyed expression. One that haunted, like that of a phantom. Anyone could just pick him up and toss him in a cell. Hell, he might as well just roll into the cell while he's at it. Nonetheless, he wallowed in sorrow.

The victim of the phantom ran, the thief looked at each of them and shut his eyes again, Arleth wanted to proceed with more caution and bind the boy more before throwing him to the authorities.

There hadn't been reason to move so Arleth retained her position, her focus on the seemingly sleeping drunk. Her position did shift slightly as Calla spoke, one of her knees pressing against the ground while she rested her elbow on the other, her gloved fingers curling slightly as she rested her chin on them, drawing in a deep breath. Her gaze gravitated towards the Raven Guild Leader as she worked her magic over the grassy ropes and turned them to chains, though there wasn't much interest in her eyes as she observed the transmutation.

Their eyes met and she looked back at the thief.

As the spell was completed, and Calla once more rose and began detailing what she had planned for the thief, Arleth also stood and dusted the dirt from her knee, "as you wish," the words came out a bit reluctant though the motive behind them was uncertain as her expression did not betray her thoughts. She had once again been watching the thief before her eyes turned to Calla who had seemed to spy something that was behind her, as she was immediately after saddled with the responsibility of transporting the prisoner back to the guild hall, one of her sleek black brows rose slightly as her arms crossed. Whatever was behind her must have been more interesting to the guild mistress than attending to the current task.

"Arleth you take him back to the hall and I'm sure you can manage to make him a temporary cell in the meeting room till I get back with the copies of those reports."
Rhi'on: The Phantom Thief Staying Silent Soon to be thrown in a cell.

Of course Arleth was not one to shirk an assigned duty and so she offered no protest to the contrary, instead her gaze then fell on the individual that was to be her temporary charge. There wasn't any pity for him in her eyes, though his own expression did not go unnoticed. She only watched him for a moment before her eyes narrowed slightly and she lowered her hands to her sides, "Of course mistress."

Once she had given her brief words of acceptance of the job, she took a step nearer to the captive, "I suppose there is no need to tell you this will go better for both of us if you don't try to escape?" While the delivery was stern, the words still carried an oddly amused tone to them with just a touch of daring, as in she almost dared him to try. At least that would be something interesting. She didn't even wait for a response considering how silent he had been up till then, it didn't seem like there would have been a point.

She wrapped her fingers around a bit of the chains that bound him and tugged gently, "well, come along then, Phantom," and began to lead him away from the tree and in the direction of the guild hall.

"ahh i see so your just as new as me? " Olive smiled softly before she looked over at him then she looked at him as she watched the waiter arrive with their food. she smiled happily as she started to eat the smoked meat on the sandwiches. She smiled happily before she wiggled her ears before she looked around "ohh your dating Calla too? ohh thats fine i don't mind plus Calla's kind of cute " she smiled as she looked at him before she finished her food before she got up and she giggled softly " Hmm Hmm lets join her" she smiled softly as she looked at her before she bounced a little as she looked excited " cmon lets play them and head out" she smiled as she looked at him with an excited look on her face.

Rhi'on: The Phantom Thief
. . .
Soon to be thrown in a cell.
Rhi'on, whether in protest or in his detached state, refused to budge. Hell, the taunts of the Albino didn't even resonate in him. He knew well how easy it is for him to escape as he assessed earlier that the green rope was clearly a binding spell. However, the rope turned into chains, so that it may bind him a bit longer. He intended to stall out, for it wasn't the first time he was bound. But that's how it appears to be on the outside, what's going on in his mind is a very different story.

What he saw wasn't even reality, only flashbacks of times when he got caught. Before him, the stones of the pathway that led from the tree back to Wolf Guild HQ turned into the stone cold faces of spectators, watching him as he was publicly humiliated in the stocks, laid out there to rot in the streets of Prussia, in his own home town nonetheless. Yes, if you were wondering, this is the tale about how he was forced to go on the run.

That day. . . it's one he reflects upon many a time. If you consider him restless and reckless now, such adjectives fail to describe Rhi'on's ways before he hit Niniva. Prussian moms their children to be wary of The Phantom Thief, a thief that can steal tomorrow's groceries today. The rich didn't even bother to go outside, for they feared their very clothes, rings, and jewelry will vanish before their eyes. However, the most shocking part about Rhi'on's situation then, is that he was framed. But... enough exposition. Besides, if I finish the tale now. . . there won't be other opportunities to insert snippets later, no?

Back to reality, shall we?

Rhi'on was playing the stalling game. His gray eyes bored into ground, dull and listless, as if he was bored of this charade- rightfully so even. To him, there was no way in hell he was gonna stay put and serve out some "community service." His arrogance and stubbornness won't let him. Ironic isn't it, that I must pay my debts to society, however it is them who have stolen the most from me, he thought. As Arleth attempted to drag him by chain, he rolled over on his side, and extended his hand to the tree, and proceeded to hang on, using up the last of his current strength to stay put so he can wait for this binding spell to wear off. In his struggle, the pen and paper he took from the ship fell out. His way of communicating, on the floor by the tree.

[div class=textbox]Zirla had stared at the man warily who had addressed her. She hadn't meant to be rude but she was not used to talking to anyone except Henry, and that was usually mentally. She hated speaking out loud most of the time since the words didn't roll off the tongue like they did others. Her voice was melodic and light like a bird chirping for the most part and hard to understand. The man eventually walked off and Zirla remained for a few moments until she noticed the disruption among the crew members. They were speaking of sirens which Zirla had no idea was until she saw the familiar face she had scratched a few moments before. The siren threw the dragon a glare before diving under the waves, her crimson tail slicing through the water like a sword. Zirla's new plan was to get that stupid creature no matter what.
Come out, coward! Zirla screeched as loud as she possibly could before diving over the side of the deck and stretching her wings to get a gust of air and hover a few feet above the murky depths below. Zirla sensed the stupid creature before it could even leap out of the water and wasted no time barrel rolling to the right before the annoying siren lept up and let out a howl of anger. Time seemed to slow down as the siren hovered there, the energy exerted from her launch out of the water. Zirla reached out a single claw and the siren's eyes widened as its wet skin started to freeze. Water from where it had lept from started flowing up her body like a reverse waterfall and the creature let out one last strangled cry before it was completely consumed by ice. The statue bobbed in the water and Zirla perched right on her head. She could see the other sirens notice their friend's tragic downfall and they backed away from the small dragon who gave them a toothy grin. One of them began making the awful sound again that Zirla realized was singing and soon the others joined. The awful noise reverberated through Zirla's scales and made her gnash her teeth. It started to physically hurt and so the dragon retreated to the deck of the ship where a crowd had formed. She noticed Henry immediately and wasted no time flying over to him and landing rather harshly on his broad shoulders .

I heard about the holes in the ship. I could probably patch them up with ice and even get the water out but I'd need someone to cover me. I want to add spikes to the hull though, really big spikes. Actually, why stop at just the hull? It'll look bad...bad ass! Henry, use your mind tricks to make the Captain allow me to make ice spikes! Of course, you could always rely on the dragon to be childish in a serious setting. The screaming and outright chaos around the dragon faded away as she focused on her vision of an ice-clad ship riding the seas. Now that sounded like a proper sea voyage.

My Astral Eyes cannot see through solid

His voice contained a hint of annoyance as it answered Henry. Solid objects couldn't let light pass through. His Astral Eyes relied on the sparseness of darkness essence to 'see', so of course he couldn't see through solid. Ravus had finished creating a second aquatic beast, sending it toward the first one as reinforcement.

Ship Captain Anahita jumped overboard to negotiate with the sirens. From her expressions when she climbed up, it didn't go very well. She ordered for the hold to be opened. With nothing else to do, Ravus removed the barricade that blocked the hold. He couldn't help even if he stayed above.

"The hold is opened, Ship Captain,"
his eyes gleamed as he shouted over the wave. "I will accompany you to look for this item."

He had no way to attack in long distance, nor could he help controlling the ship. The most productive path for him, at the moment, was to help looking for what the sirens were looking for.

Roland had been mercilessly shooting arrow after arrow, often changing to the other side to keep a lookout for any siren. While the others were trying to find out what was causing the sirens to attack them, the shifter was simply trying to fend them off. He didn't quite care why they were doing all of this. As long as they can get out safe, then he would try anything. He stopped firing when the ship captain dove into the water to negotiate or attack the sirens in their own element. Roland avoided that area for a while in fear that one of his arrows were going to reach and hit her.

Zirla had also gone down to beat some sirens up. He wasn't sure that such a small thing could do that much damage to something, but he guessed it would be understandable considering she is still a dragon. Young or not. When she had left that area, he had taken over to pick off any sirens that still dared attack from that side.

"Heh ya basically new in a way, though like I said I have traveled almost everywhere else with Calla so I have been to places where a lot of people may recognize me." He smiled at how well she was taking in what he was saying since not everyone was okay with him being with multiple women at once. "Heh, I am glad you have no issue with my style of relationship. Let's go see her then." He led them over to Calla who was basically eying him down, he has been around her for a long time but has never seen this look so it was hard to tell if she was upset with him or if she was just happy that he was happy. He finally got to Calla after they ate and kissed her on the lips. "Heh, how are you doing my love?" He hoped that even if she was upset that would ease a bit of her anger with him.
