"Hell, I’ll kill a man in a fair fight, or if I think he’s gonna start a fair fight, or if he bothers me, or if there’s a woman, or if I’m gettin' paid; mostly only when I’m gettin' paid."
Hey, hey! I’m mayhem TR4NQU1L17Y, and I wanted to see what the users of RPNation thought about a new thread idea. So far, I have yet to open up a single thread on the site due to extensive builds and too many ideas. SO… without further adieu, I finally settled on what could be my first thread on RPN. … a Suda51-themed thread. Don’t know what a Suda51 is? WELL THEN! Heard of Killer 7? Killer is Dead? Lollipop Chainsaw? No More Heroes 1 & 2? Don’t play video games? It’s alright! You don’t even have to go into the thread knowing these games! All you need is a strong imagination, good humor, and a love for all things bloody, death defying, and amazing combat scenes. Hell, they can even be amazing fight scenes inspired by John Wu!
The story revolves around the top eleven assassins in the world that all reside in the infamous Smash City. Each and every single person had hurt, maimed, deceived, destroyed, and killed their way into the rankings in order to stand tall as one of the best killers on Earth. However, for some, it’s not enough. They have their eyes set on the number one spot and will do anything to take it! You play one of the ten cast members (with no. 1 as the NPC) living your fairly average life as a bloodthirsty and crazy killer. Along with those seeking to rise in ranks, each character has an opportunity to increase their wealth and reputation by taking on liquidating missions. Whether it’s to take a life of a single person, a vast army, destroy an iconic image, or take out an empire empire, the job is offered to ALL assassins, making it competition of who can succeed while following the criteria of the mission.
In this thread, there are no limits of what kind of super, over-powered character you can conjure up. I have experience in running threads where there are nothing holding users back. That said, I expect a level of maturity with this kind of power. This means that fights WILL be plotted out… all the way to the conclusion (information on determining the winner will be stated below). I want logical insanity. I want a fights that has everyone in their seats and going bat shit crazy. Toss vending machines. Have an all out duel at an amusement park. Destroy a damn building and crush that bastard Steve from accounting! This thread is for the thrill and entertainment of great action sequences and comedy (to boot).
For this thread, I plan to have ten users maximum with a maximum of one character per user (if you have shared a similar idea I had for a rank and you’re psychic, come PM for further details when the thread is a thing). So… for this thread to be a thing, I need nine additional users to be interested and want in. If I can’t get nine users, then this thread WILL not happen. That’s it. The dream is crushed. It’s over.
POSTING & CHARACTERS
The following thread idea will be Detailed. According to RPNation:
“Detailed Roleplays are games for people who are interested in improving both their roleplaying abilities and their writing abilities. These games expect posts that are at least three plus (3+) paragraphs long. Players within a detailed roleplay are expected to develop the roleplay’s plot, add details to their character and the setting regularly throughout their posts, as well as pay close attention to their own individual writing/grammar in their posts.”
However, for this thread, I would like to see users put out the effort in posts, character development, and plotting. I want users to go above and beyond to consciously think about the purpose of their characters, what makes them tick, and answers to why they are the way they are. I don’t want to see characters that are rushed, thrown together, a complete rip of yourself embedded into the shell of your creation, and a character that has no business belonging in this universe. Characters should develop just as much as the plot in the thread. If I’m putting forth the effort to bring out kick butt plots, then I expect the same treatment for everyone else! Got a killer idea for a mission? Want some crazy ass shit to happen? Want to go M. Night Shamallamadingdong? Great! That’s what I want to see. For posts, every post should remain 3 paragraphs and above that has a point. Sure, it can be minimal or fluffy, but there’s got to be a point. And, no, having your deadline close isn’t an excuse for piss poor quality.

DICE MECHANICS
Characters are able to free to do what they want in the thread. Whether they choose to hang around in the first IC in “free city roam” or engage in any of the missions/ranked fights, it’s honestly up to you how you want to progress things.
For those interested in missions, it will be posted in the second thread. Each mission will have a main objective, prerequisites, and reward. Any character can take the mission and battle one another to complete it. If the main objective is failed, then there is no reward. If a single prerequisite is failed, an estimated sum will be subtracted from the reward. The “winner” of the mission is determined by dice rolls! Yep, ladies and gentleman! Dice will be rolled near the climatic end to determine who snatches the prize… or if everyone involved fails it. All characters will roll 5d20 (five dice with twenty sides). The total dice are tallied together. Whoever has the highest total roll wins. If there is a tie, then it means the pot is split. If all characters’ total roll calculates 59 or below, everyone loses and the main objective is failed.
As for ranked match, they take place between characters that are one away from each other. Meaning, if a character is the eleventh ranked, they can only challenge the tenth rank. And, so on and so forth. A user can issue a challenge in the first IC by tagging another user. That user CANNOT refuse the challenge and the two have to fight it out via the second IC. A fight CAN be to the death if the users desire it (at most, the loser will be severely wounded and their pride broken if no one wants their creations to go). A location will be decided by the owner (me) and a set time that the characters must meet. Other characters can witness the fight if they like. Fights MUST be plotted out nearly to the end for the sake of creating bad assery. The winner will be decided by the same mechanics of a mission: roll 5d20 and get the highest total. If both users get below 59, then they knock each other out and they remain the same rank. Getting the same number will also result in a tie. Whoever loses go back down a rank (or die and open up a new slot in the thread).
All rolls will take place in the Dice Section on RPNation so they are all public.
