This sounds interesting. Do you know what times you'll be planning on hosting it?

Are you referring to when I'm active on the site? If so I'm going to be quite inconstant since I work weird work shifts and don't have anything even close to resembling a proper sleep pattern.

I have no idea what class to play.Originally I was planning paladin but I'm not sure anymore.First person to recommend me a class Is what I'll be.

I would like to mention that there is a cleric provided for you at the KoS home base. She may join you in small forms on certain missions but for the most part she'll makes healing potions for you and heal you if need be at the fort. I encourage clerics but by no means should anyone feel obligated to be one. I know being the designated healer feels like a burden for a lot of people, but I certainly encourage healer characters.

Oh, you've got to force someone to be a cleric.
And then you have to blame them when you die.
(And this is why I've only ever made one cleric character).

Reasons to get arrested in Austansia:

Alright, so as you can imagine, it’s not too hard to get arrested. Obviously the big crimes of western civilization are applicable here - things like rape, murder, assault, thievery, property destruction and what not - but surprisingly enough, there are exceptions. For example, if you are a high enough figure in the church, and your not blatantly slaughtering people in publically, you could theoretically get away with a murder or two. Also, if you're a regular citizen and you slaughter a family, but it turns out that family worshiped a different god, you can claim that you murdered them in in the name of the Living Sun and get away scott-free. There's quite a bit of corruption that exists and the politics of these matters often gets in the way of a fair trial. People get arrested all the time for simply being labeled “a threat to the church” which could literally mean; “I once said a mean thing about my local priest ‘cause he’s kind of a dick.” Whoops! Looks like you're arrested now and you’ll probably be burned at the stake.

Here's the list of the big things you should keep in mind:

  1. Speaking blasphemous words in regards to the Céile Giran is punishable by imprisonment and death.

  2. Speaking poorly or negatively of the church can be complicated, but usually ends in death.

  3. Worshiping another god besides Ghiran will lead imprisonment and eventually death depending on which god (any of the evil ones or the ones who aren't on good terms with Ghiran).

  4. Rape and sexual assault will lead to castration and public execution. Unless you’re a high member of the church, in which case you can get away with rape if you’re discreet about it.

  5. Murder, manslaughter, assault, etc. punishable to imprisonment and death depending on the severity and who was killed. Again, members of the church can most likely get away with this kind of action depending on a number of factors.

  6. Gambling. People caught gambling will be imprisoned and subject to the removal of an eye on the first offense and death on the second. Not hard for a members of the chuich to get away with this one.

  7. Organized gangs or other harmful organization. All member will be incarcerated and put to death.

  8. Preaching blasphemy. Subject to death on the spot should it be necessary. Incarceration and death if not put to death on the spot.

  9. If the church deems you too dangerous, you will be arrested and most likely put to death unless you commit yourself to the church.

  10. Thieving, taking property that is not yours, especially property of the church. The thief and anyone else who touches the stolen goods are subject to imprisonment and execution. If a merchant catches you stealing their wares, they are allowed to take your arm.

  11. Practicing of dark arts. Subject to imprisonment and execution. Execution is always a public burning for this one.

  12. Holding connections to fiendish or bestial creatures deemed evil or dangerous (this means anyone who is a tiefling or has otherwise demonic/evil lineage would be apprehended and executed).

  13. Paying homage or receiving powers from patrons outside of Ghiran (all warlocks) will be burned.

  14. Questioning the Céile Giran’s holy law is subject to imprisonment and possible execution.

  15. Destruction of property, especially church property is subject to imprisonment and death.

  16. Claiming to be a prophet of Ghiran is subject to public hanging from the walls of the Céile Giran’s tower.

  17. If an artisans product or trade causes harm or death to another, their closest family member is killed. If there is no immediate family to be punished, the artisan or merchant will receive the punishment.

  18. Any merchant caught selling or trading illegal goods will have all of their property taken from them and put to death.

  19. Any drug or illegal mind altering substance (e.g. Silk, Bliss or Shrada) is found on one's person, they will be put to death.

So those are just some examples, and of course they come in all sorts of extremes that you can put your own spin on if you would like. If you have ideas outside of the list I thoroughly encourage that, but please confirm with me whatever your idea is. As you can surely tell, the church is incredibly corrupt, and so it’s important to note that it’s okay if not all characters are evil or scummy. You could very well be someone who was standing up to a priest who had gotten away with some sort crime and been arrested because of it. It’s entirely up to you.

Gambling, Thievery, Speaking negatively
This is just my wizard in a nutshell.

If there is still room in this for more players I would like to throw my hat in. Character wise I was thinking a human barbarian who died for his Pagan God in battle, achieving a good warrior’s death, but was brought back as a revenant for unknown reasons. He now works for the Knights of Sin as the Church told him they’d help him return to the afterlife if he renounces his God and serves Ghiran. It would all be Player’s Handbook stuff except for the Revenant race from here: Unearthed Arcana Gothic Heroes. Thoughts?

In this situation, was it the church who revived him?

Alright Knights! Are you ready? Tomorrow we begin, so get your characters all sorted out.

IC Section

I know it's a lot of reading, but there's tons of important stuff there so please, read what you can. There are also links to everything spread through out and neatly organized at the bottom in the spoiler that says "important links".

I'm gonna be awake for the next couple hours, so if you got questions about things, now's the time to ask.
