"Anything beside that, these guys are not nice people and I don't want them to get any ideas. I know it's an inconvenience but for me?"


"We should head for the office. If you may, set up the coffee and tea area right there so you don't have to go all the way to the kitchen"


Yukio leads the the way to conference room. It was just a single table but it was very long. With at least 40 chairs on either side and one both ends. Yukio takes his seat at the head of the table.


"Jessenia you will be sitting to my right after you server the refreshment. They will be seated in the opposite. Pay close attention and don't speak unless spoken too."

Jessenia simply nodded and changed into black pants and a nice shirt. She followed Yukio and admired how long the table was.she listened to his rules and simply nodded.


"Than I'll be back Yukio. I will go get the refreshments." She told him and went to get the drinks and brought them closer to the conference room. She stood by the conference room door and waited for the men to arrive. She didn't know why Yukio was so various. If these men were business men then they knew manners correct?


When she heard a knock on the door, she walked out to get the men but noticed one female in the group with them. She led them to the conference room and as they sat down and saw the refreshments, they began to ask her for some and she did as told and served the drinks. She felt uncomfortable however by the looks the men were giving her.


When she finished she sat to Yukios right like told and just listened then the female of the other mafia spoke, "daddy couldn't be here. What is your proposal?" She asked and Jessenia could only assume this female was like the second in charge of whatever company they owned.

Yukio usually is a rather calm person but he was quiet irritated that the other head did not attend. He tried to hide his frustration with the situation...he sighed


" It's a shame your father is not hear to talk. Basically the proposal is that we end this feud. We have have been spilling blood since before my father's time. As a symbol as of our friendship I would like to extend to you an invitation to the yearly Tanaka Black and White party."


Yukio reaches into his pocket and pulls out and envelope


"Jessenia would you please"


He extends his arm with the envelope


And you take it to the end of the table and hand it to them.


"I hope we can come together and end this nonsense. And tell your father he was missed today"


Yukio stands up and buttons his middle button on his suit. He give a slight bow and in their direction.

The female simply smiled and took the invitation from Jessenia but noticed the burn on her hand. "So you're the new maid for Yukio. What a shame you're so clueless to his real life." She told Jessenia who became a bit surprised by with the words the female said. The female leaned in and whispered, "you aren't safe around him. Now that the longer you stay here, the longer your life will be threatened." She then stood up straight and smiled then walked out and the men followed her.


Jessenia didn't know what exactly this female meant but she stayed quiet and began to pick up the glasses and put them on the cart. "Is there any you desire at the moment Yukio?" Jessenia asked not making any eye contact with Yukio as the words continued to replay in her head.


Jessenia was so deep in thought, one of the glasses fell to the floor and the sound of the glass shattering is what caused her to come back to reality. She immediately squatted down and began to pick up the pieces.


"I'm so sorry Yukio. I wasn't paying attention to my actions." She told him but it came out so fast it was hard to understand.

"No no it is fine please clean up the glass. I will be back at the balcony when you get the chance meet me there with a cup of coffee"


Yukio rushed to his room and grabbed a small brown box from a container and pulled out a cigar. Yukio was not much of a smoker, he hated cigarettes but he would have an occasional cigar to calm his nerves. He did not enjoy it as well but it was something he had picked up from his father, something he did not want to think of at that time. He stepped onto his balcony and began to smoke it. The only thing that was running through his head was the thought that he was stood up by the other head at their "important" meeting. He began to wonder if they will even take the invitation or proposal. Something in him wished they didn't. Something wished they would refuse it, so he can put a hit on her precious daddy's head. He took a rather large hit from the cigar. He thought aloud...


" What am i saying I swore to be nothing like my father."


He sighed as he looked into the distance, and thought to himself that now Jessenia knows the true nature of his business at least that he is heavily involved in the mafia. He knew he would have to explain some of it to her now but not too much as to not overwhelm her.

Jessenia simply nodded and when she finished cleaning she went to the kitchen. The words still lingered in her thoughts. What exactly did she mean? Why was her life in such danger with Yukio? She never once would have thought that. Jessenia let out a sigh and then began to make the coffee Yukio wanted.


When she finished making it, she walked out to the balcony and then coughed when she inhaled the smoke from his cigar. She set the coffee down on the table that was next to him and then moved back a bit to where the smoke wasn't near her. She disliked smoke. She was always around smoke with her mother that now the scent disgusts her and it gives her major headaches but she wasn't going to tell Yukio that. She just sucked it up.


She wanted to know what the female meant so Jessenia found it the right time to ask, "Yukio.... The lady, she said my life will always be in danger if I stay with you." She said softly and looked at the ground.

Still facing out in the distance, when he heard what Jessenia said to him he looked up at the ski, put his cigar out and faced her. He waved his hand to rid of the remaining smoke.


"Sorry for the smoke is a bad habit"


His face quickly got serious


"Jessenia to understand what she meant you have to understand what I do. I bet from that meeting you could tell I am not just a business man. With my inheritance of my fathers wealth came the inheritance of the responsibility of running one of the largest mafia group in Japan, the Yakuza. Well part of it, there are four main branches and I alone am the head of the 3rd branch because I have no immediate family. Remember when I said you are the closest person to me now, people will use that. They will use you to get to me, that is why you are in danger. Why don't you think I only keep you by my side,i would not allow you to go back that first night to get your things. These other branches have money power and spies. I am sorry for the position I have placed you in, but she was wrong.


He grabs both her hands and looks her deeply


"You are not in danger as long as you are with me I will make sure of that. No matter happens at the very least you will be safe you have my word. All my life all i had was Sakura but she is deathly sick and there is nothing I can do. But you Jessenia i can do something about, I will protect you."


His eyes began to water but he forced himself to keep his composure.
 
A mafia?! He is the head person of a mafia?! Jessenia couldn't believe what she was hearing and now she really felt like she was in danger. She was stupid for ever agreeing on this job. She could be killed any day just so some other mafia can get to Yukio. It scared her, it terribly did. She wanted to live life longer and without any worries but now she was more worried then before. Not for herself really but for Yukio. Then and there Jessenia vowed to herself that if she ever became kidnapped by another mafia, she would risk her life for Yukio. She couldn't explain why that's just how she felt.


When she felt his hand grab hers Jessenia raised her head and looked up at Yukio. She noticed his eyes began to water and Jessenia looked at the ground, her hair falling to the front like always.


"I trust you." She told him but then slowly pulled her hands away from his because of the blush upon her face. She tiptoed and gave Yukio a soft kiss on his cheek then said, "I'll protect you before you can protect me." She blinked and then stared back at the ground. "S-sorry. I had no business doing that. I'll be in the kitchen..." She told him and walked off. Why had she done that? It was just out of instinct.

Yukio grabbed her hand as she was walked away and flung her around and close towards him. He gave a a quick smile, pushed her hair behind her ear and kept his hand on there.


He kissed her, a deep passionate kiss


His grasp on her hand loosen as he continued to kiss her. He pulled away and moved his hands.


"I'm... I'm sorry Jessenia it was just an impulse. If you would like to excuse yourself you may"

Jessenias eyes had grown wide as Yukio kissed her but she didn't try to pull away. She couldn't put her tongue on it but she was enjoying this kiss from Yukio. She closed her eyes and when Yukio pulled away, she looked at the ground, her face a bright red.


"It's... It's fine Yukio. Please excuse me..." She said and turned around then walked off. She went to finish washing the dishes. She sighed softly as she could still feel Yukios lips upon hers. She wanted to keep kissing him but Jessenia was a mere maid and his right hand. Nothing more.

Yukio just sat on his bed and slowly began to lay down. He completely forgot about the meeting. All he could think of was her. The feeling of her lips against his, her body so close to his. The whole incident was repeating in his head over and over again. A smile began to form on his face as his eye began to slowly shut.


Yukio fell asleep and woke up around dinner time. He was still in his suit, he quickly changed to something a bit more comfortable and headed towards the dining room.


He didn't what to say to Jessenia let alone how he would react to seeing her. How would she react? This would be the most nervous Yukio has ever been for a dinner.

Jessenia was preparing dinner and setting out the plate for Yukio on the dinning room table. She had the widest smile on her face and she hummed a song to herself as she continued to set things up. When Yukio came over, Jessenia walked over and placed the food down infront of him and then poured his coffee for him. She didn't say a thing and she didn't set up a plate to eat with him.


"I hope you enjoy dinner tonight Yukio. Please excuse me while I go clean up the pots and pans in the kitchen." Jessenia stated as she smiled and bowed before walking off to the kitchen and began to wash the pots and pans. She felt awkward in a way but the event continued to repeat in her mind and she couldn't help but crave his lips once more.
 
Yukio noticed she was in a very good mood. He thought Did she enjoy the kiss? She was the one who kissed him on the cheek. He decided he will call her to his room after dinner and discuss the incident.


For right now he was hungry because he had slept through lunch. He finished his food and looked towards Jessenia.


"That did not taste like a meal my chiefs would make. It was very delicious thank you Jessenia.


Then it just came out of him unexpectedly.


"Jessenia would you meet me in my room when you have the chance. Bring two wine glasses with you as well."


Yukio made his way towards his room and grabbed a bottle finely aged win from his liqueur cabinet. He wasn't much of a wine man but suspected Jessenia to enjoy this over rum or scotch.

"You welcome Yukio. I told the chiefs to take a break." Jessenia said as she picked up his ate and began to clean them and when he asked her to go to his room, she did as told. She grabbed two wine glasses and then walked over to his room and set the glasses down on the little table that was there. "You needed me Yukio?" She asked as she stood by the door and then noticed the wine. She herself wasn't much of a wine person. She preferred scotch over anything. Sure it was abnormal but that was what she preferred.


Her legs were killing her and she walked over to the bed and sat down in it. She didn't ask for permission but she didn't mind. She still had that genuine smile on her face.
 
"Jessenia about the kiss earlier today..."


He stopped to pour wine in her glass


"I hope you enjoy the wine, not much of a fan myself"


He poured some for himself and took a sip.


"About the kiss, I apologize it was so sudden. I do not know what came over me. at that moment I felt something I had never felt before and it just sort of happened. I never want to make you feel as though because I am your master, that puts this expectation of pleasing me in that sort of way. I fear with that kiss may have come off in that way. Jessenia you are very special to me, I don't know quite what to call it but it is not so much as I need you as maid any longer. I need...want you Jessenia."


He finishes the glass of wine immediately after saying that.
 
Jessenia was in utter awe at what Yukio had just said. She took a sip of her wine and had nothing to reply to her. "It's fine Yukio trust me.... I have developed feelings for you that I have yet to figure out what they are but.... I liked the kiss." Jessenia admitted and smiled as she looked at her lap and then took yet another sip of the wine. She however became startled when she heard thunder. She was never one to like thunder storms.


"I-if you can excuse me Yukio.... I um... I need to go finish cleaning." She lied and when thunder struck again, she tensed. Her hand gripped the glass with dear life. She was afraid she was going to break it in her hand.

Jessenia are you ok? It is just thunder, you basically got threatened by the mafia today, yet you afraid of a little tunder.


He smiled and rested his hand on her tensed hand.


"You do not have to be afraid when you are with me, remember that. I am here for you just like you are here for me."


As now the rain is coming down hard with no sign of letting up.


"It looks we are in for a storm tonight and a pretty nasty one at that."


He looked at Jessenia and it is clear to him she quite terrified of the thunder


"Jessenia, if you want you can sleep in my room with me, I am sure we can make some sort of arrangement. "


Yukio poured more wine and took another rather large sip.
 
Jessenia didn't say anything she simply just took another sip of her wine and then put the glass down and sighed. She stood up and hugged Yukio tight. She couldn't do this. She hated thunderstorms with all her might. She felt like the flashbacks of that night would forever haunt her. The night her father came home so drunk Jessenia was beat terribly. She shivered at just the thought of it.


"Yukio I'm scared..." She whispered and cried softly.
 
Yukio quite frankly was shocked by Jessenia admitting she was scared. He remembered when she was purchased, he knew she was a strong willed girl and this was the first time she showed any sign of weakness.


Yukio hugged her back embracing her warm body. He felt her shiver though.


"Jessenia you are staying in this room tonight." He said trying to sound serious. "You will be sleeping on my bed and I will look for a sleeping bag or something. Do not worry about me just know that I will be in the room with you tonight."


He knew he had to make it sound like an order or else Jessenia would just decline. This was the only way to try and help her.


Suddenly Yukio picked her up and laid her on her back on the bed. He then began to search his closet for a sleeping bag or a large blanket to sleep on.

Jessenia would have done exactly that and denied what Yukio wanted her to di but he was smart and it was an order. She simply nodded and the minute she was laid on his bed, she curled under the blankets and hid her face and she shut her eyes tight. She was terribly scared and yes she was a strong willed girl but thunderstorms were her biggest fear.


"Y-Yukio....... C-can you sleep up here with me....?" She asked and then realized what she asked and said, "n-nevermind..... It was dumb for asking..." She added and stayed hidden under the blankets. She wasn't going to get any sleep tonight.
 
Yukio's face turned a bright red and he scratched his head as he gave a nervous smile. The bed was big enough where they could both sleep on it and Yukio didn't have anything to to sleep on. He could tell the way she said it she needed him on the bed with her for her to not be scared. Still it was unexpected to Yukio. He decided to pretend he did not hear the "never mind..." part"


"Jessenia if it is ok with you? I kinda don't have anything to sleep on, so could you move over?"

Jessenia moved over and made room for Yukio and when he laid down she curled up close to him. She was shaking from the memories that would later be haunting her dreams tonight. She still had a few scars from being abused but on her back where people wouldn't be able to see. Now that she thought of that, she needed to look at the back of the dress she was to wear.


"Sorry I'm showing my soft side to you..... Be glad though..... It only comes out with people that I trust." She whispered and slowly began to fall asleep as she felt his warmth. His scent was intoxicating for her as well and she loved it. She didn't want to be interrupted by anything. She just wanted to stay like this forever.

Again Yukio did not expect Jessenia to snuggle so close to him. He enjoyed it though he slipped his underneath her head and faced the ceiling. This massive bed no longer felt so massive, he used to feel so lonely sleeping on it alone. It was a king size and he had only had a king size for as long as he could remember. It had always felt like an island, and island where it was just him and him alone. It alway stook him awhile to begin to fall asleep because of this. This time though it felt right, it was no longer an island it was a bed, a bed he was sharing with Jessenia.


He looked at Jessenia for a second and noticed she was falling asleep fast, he mouthed the words


"I love you" and fell asleep
 
Jessenia stayed asleep thought the entire night, even when the phone rang.


The one on the phone was no other then the female from earlier. Her and her father were not going to accept their arrangement. They wanted to take Yukio and his part of the Yakuza down. She was growing impatient as she waited for Yukio to answer. She knew he would do what they wanted. If he didn't well then, Jessenia would get killed along with him.
