you know , don't think any one of them really have the time to deal with a monster on steroids currently , gin , but you know , you do you , hun . " there's not enough space to do anything in here ! this thing will only attract more of those things over here , we have to get out of here as soon as possible . " mayu had said , yes , it is stating the obvious but just in case someone's mind is still stuck in a moment where they are not processing anything . hey , maybe she can send herself out the window again as that will definitely save some time on them running down the stairs . oh yes she will jump out that damn window again flattening her round cat ears against her head , the girl kind of just squinted her eyes at gin when he said to just stay alive . no shit , sherlock , wHAT KIND OF GENERAL OR LEADER IS HE ?? NOT HAVING A DAMN PLAN WHILE THEIR LIVES ARE ON THE LINE , DANGLING BY A THIN STRING -- you know what , whatever , sir . the young female was on her knees and hands trying to reach for the weapon that's on the ground but during that time , she froze when there was a loud screech sounding throughout the clinic . her slender fingers reached up to flatten down her ears , trying to muffle the piercing scream that sounded through her leopard ears . this was just bad news , like , really bad news . once the battle cry was gone , she lets go of her ears while her eyes were widen in fear -- panic breathing has rolled in , she can hear very low and quiet rumbling noises sounding throughout the building . there are things approaching them , quite a bit of things .
shaking her head , reminding herself that she was just trying to grab the weapon from the ground , immediately snatching the blade off from the ground , the girl jumped up onto her feet . the leopard was about to do something but she ended up clutching her head tightly in her hands , another piercing roar sounded from the creature as it was infuriated by the attacks the guys were dealing to it . lifting her head up slowly , her lush green silver eyes flared up with shock -- kazuma being hit by the creatures tail , causing for him to collide into a wall . yuuna had her hand slightly stretched out as if she was trying to grab him but she couldn't , he was too far . hearing his voice had snapped her back into reality , blinking her eyes a couple of times before quickly scavenging through the bag for some sort of information . " uhm . . . i don't know . . . " mayu had muttered quietly to herself , she wasn't too sure if she had read about that but it feels like she has . . but it didn't seem like it had much information during that time when she read about it . " there were a couple of papers that just said that he had spotted them but that was all ! " the werebeast had exclaimed while looking through her bag in haste , grabbing an empty bottle , the female had chucked it towards the creature as soon as she saw that it was attacking the prince while gin had helped kazuma .

" oh , uhm , sorry ! " the young doctor had exclaimed to the creature when she had heard it spoke -- wait a damn minute , sHE JUST APOLOGIZED TO THE CREATURE ON ACCIDENT AND IT FUCKING TALKS ??? " i-it it talks !? " it took her by surprise when the damn creature had opened his mouth to speak to them , you don't see this everyday , you know ? you know what else you don't see everyday ? a FUCKING TONGUE COMING RIGHT AT YOU LIKE A DAMN SPEAR . grabbing onto the satchel for dear life , she tries to move out the way but she had under estimated the speed of the tongue and there wasn't much room for her to move -- causing for an unfortunate injury in the left shoulder . the feline had found herself leaning against the wall , one hand clutching her shoulder to try and stop the bleeding while the other clutching tightly to the satchel . " it's okay ! the satchel is safe ! " the young doctor had replied back , dear god , this burns . it felt like it had happened in slow mo for her , the feeling of something slowly tearing her skin and muscles apart in her left shoulder , it felt weak , her left arm felt really weak . . this really hurts . . mayu bit down on her tongue , trying to hold back the tears that were just swelling due to the pain , " we really need to get out of here . " the leopard had said before running over to the hallway of where gin and kazuma was by , another roar of pain had sounded throughout the entire clinic as if it could shake the building -- or maybe that's the storm of corpses coming over to them because they're creating a lot of noises . without a second thought , the feline had jumped out the window once again , weeeee , landing onto her two feet . hopefully nobody had noticed but this female had landed on her left foot at a wrong angle due to a rock on the ground , twisting it . can't this day be any better ? " we better run , i can hear an army of zombies and i doubt that mutant will let us get away if we just you know , jumped out a window . " an awkward chuckle came out of her blossom pink lips but they were covered in small red patches due to the fact that she was biting on her lips too from the pain , she really just need to rest --

𝐊𝐈𝐘𝐎𝐒𝐇𝐈 》 Just when he thought he had escaped from the crying gremlin, something anchored his legs down to the ground that prevented him from leaving the premises. “What the?!” Dropping his head down, his face went blank once again seeing the snot filled little girl. Seriously! What the hell is this girl’s problem? He’s not her mom so why is she so desperately trying to stick to him?! Getting just as surprised as she slapped her face and bowed to him in order to offer him a blanket, Kiyoshi couldn’t help but alienize this girl. She was probably the strangest girl he has ever come across. Shifting his gaze to the blanket that resided in her hands, the peach haired male just scoffed at her offer. He was fine with the cold, but look at her. She was literally turning into an icicle. What’s even worse, she had no shoes on. It was clear that either they wore off or she just didn't have any to begin with, but this was no good. Her feet could get stressed out and swollen. Grabbing the blanket from the girl, the convict draped it over the girl before picking her up in his arms. Ugh… kids were heavy- “Whatever… It’ll only be more annoying if you kept on following me even if i said no”.
Hm? Confused at the sudden statement, Kiyoshi pulled the girl from him to look at her directly in the eyes. “You’re hungry? Did you say something?”. Standing there puzzled, the man then pulled out a small rice treat wrapped and tied in a ribbon. It was given to him earlier from civilians as they somehow found it in their heart that they felt bad that he was probably starved before the execution. “Kids like sweet stuff right? Ugh I don’t know… just eat it-” Staring up ahead, It seemed as if a large void began to eat up the streets. It was dark and he couldn’t make sense of the figure, but he definitely sensed trouble. Normally he would have just walked towards it, but circumstances have changed. Shoving the treat back into his pockets and ducking the girls head into his shoulders, a cold sweat dripped down from his forehead. “You can have it later alright? For now close your eyes, kids your age should be in bed at this hour-”. Delivering his last line, Kiyoshi quickly made his way to leave the village. Whatever that thing was, it definitely wasn’t looking for a friend, and Kiyoshi had no plans of making friends with such an ugly fiend. Even though he didn’t have a plan on where to go, he had to find this girl someone to give to. It was impossible for them to stay together since it would delay his hope for death, but for now it was alright… I guess babysitting might be his new gig.

THREE TIMES . it came from the other side of this building, where touya had separated from gin and the prince earlier. just what exactly was that sound? even the five survivors heard it, their eyes filled with fears, " w-what was that? " genki stuttered out, the old man smoothing his chicken's soft, gold fur, trying to calm it down. the creature, feeling it's master's fear, squeaks out a cry, a weak cluck was heard, resisting the urge to chime out it's cocka doodle doo chants as it flapped its wings. " ah, please remain calm, everyone. there's nothing to be scared of .. " ayumi reassured her patients, her grey hues softened when they met with the were-beast wolf next to her, a small ghost of a smile appeared upon her lips. " after all, we have a royal guard here with us .. touya, right? " she asked again, glancing towards the golden-haired male, his tails wagging back and forth behind him, ears above his head twitching at the sound of his name coming from her lips. he nodded, chest proudly pump forward, however his words were quickly silenced with genki's hysterical cries. " he tried to eat shuu ! .. how can we trust someone who could eat an innocent chicken? " the old man sobbed dramatically into his child's coat of yellow, as though understanding it's master, beady black eyes seemed to have glared back at the were-beast, its pointy beast itching to dig a hole to the soldier's head. " oh, calm down, you old fool ! and, you call yourself a man? " shirori snapped back, the veins popping out upon her forehead, kicking the elder. crouching into a ball, a young boy who barely just turned eighteen, shivered cowardly over at the corner. " "but, shiori oba-san .. all we have are brooms and books. we can't fight, " tobi exclaims, " and, you're old ! who knows how long you will las-- " the heavy book dropped on the youngster's head mercilessly, the veins thicken even more on her flesh, her face growing red with anger as an accent was heard from her words. " who yer callin old, ya squirt? i am still in mah most youthful stage -- ya should be calling me big sister, i'll kill ya ! " next to her, a huff of smoke was seen coming from the kiseru, the laid back akane finally spoke out her words. " you mentioned you got friends on the other side .. how do you know they're even alive? surely, you won't tell me those roars came from them, right? " speaking clearly and rationally, she looks straight into the young man's eyes. this world is an ugly place to live in, it was even before these mysterious monsters came to them. asking for trust is the most difficult thing in this world, she jabbed her finger to touya's chest. " are you confident? that your friends are still alive? " chuckling at the question, a reply was given, his eyes staring back at the woman with confidence. " of course. my captain's even crazier than me, you know? .. the man laughs in the face of death. " akane released out another puff of smoke, this time she finally made her decision. the ex-gangster lady puts down her kiseru, tracing its pattern lovingly finally parting away from it. rolling the sleeves of her kimono up, she slips out her kitchen blade, " well, then .. let's all go meet this captain of yours. "
" no. " a voice chimed in, disagreeing with the entirety of the plan. taking off her white coat, she draped it over the young tobi, tying up her lock of blonde into a tight pony-tail. her pool of grey connected with touya's with sheer determination, there was no fear. she held his onto his hand, " didn't you say there's a renedveuz point with the nearby village here? " her question brought on many confused looks, however, she remained patient, the smile remained on her face -- her voice gently soothing over their doubts, guiding them back on the right path, " let's say we can fight through all those monsters .. and we do meet up with your friends, touya .. then, what? we're not soldiers. we don't have infinite stamina to keep fighting. we'll die, all of us .. " the area all six of them resided in is vacant and peaceful thanks to that mysterious roar. she'll be damn if they didn't take advantage of the current situation right now. they could do it, they could make the stairs and reach to the outside of the hospital. now is the time, especially with touya here, they can do it !

REPLY BACK TO MAYU ..

FORGET THE DAMN SATCHEL . " more importantly, are you okay ? " kazuma asked, hurriedly getting to the female's side. " seriously, what is it with you and windows .. you should've stayed put, i would've gone to you .. " he scolded slightly, his eyes quickly observing her conditions. he knew if he waited for her answer, no doubt the feline would cast aside all his worries and doubt and tell him that she was alright. his own gaze paused at the deeply colored red staining the fabric, located on her shoulder. his heart dropped at the wound, face turning pale, grinding down on his teeth. he released out a frustrated sigh, no, he wasn't angry at her -- he just hated their situation. he hated himself the most for having to be so powerless. if he had been a little faster .. if he had been by her side, this wouldn't have happened. " i'm sorry, " he whispered out, his blue orbs shimmered with regrets, his hand dab gently at the wound, barely even touching it. he wondered if it'll heal well without leaving a single scar behind, he hoped it did. he'll make sure it will. that's why they need to get out of here first, but before that -- rummaging through the bags, he pulled out the bandage wrap. " stay still, " he ordered, pulling down the sleeves off enough to give him a clear view of the bleeding injury. he wasn't a doctor, but he knew the basics of how to apply just enough pressure to stop the bleeding. if the girl loses any more blood, he fears she'd faint. after finished wrapping the cloth bandage, it suddenly dawns to him .. ' shit , what the fuck did i just do ? ' his ears grew red, realizing he had just literally touched mayu's bare-skinned just now. not only was he the cause to the scar, but now he's stripping her. unfreezing himself, he immediately covers her exposed ( now bandaged ) shoulder back up, distracting himself with other less embarrassing thoughts all while scooting away at a more appropriate distance from her.
on the other corner of the room, gin stared at the two idiots with a deadpanned expression on his face, " so, a shoulder makes you flustered and yet the hug did nothing earlier? " he questioned, amused by the prince's reaction. his ears, were red .. hanae's ears turn red too when he would tease her too hard. it was cute, but the massive bumps on his head tell a whole other story. wincing at the memory, he immediately covers the back of his head, preparing for the future attack that might be brought upon it. the princess was kind, yes. but, why the hell does the woman only get violent with him?? pushing his sword further into the skull of the monster, a satisfying crack was heard before it finally penetrated the flesh of its brain. " well, nevermind that .. her foots' all twisted. forget running, can she even walk? " his sword pointed out to the left foot, raising a brow at the self-inflict injury, " you gotta be the ungraceful feline i've ever met, kid .. "

HINATA WAS EXCITED . throughout the entire trip, he has been vomiting millions of questions to the doctor. his passionate liquid gold hues drilled a hole through the doctor's entire face. it's by this point, hitoshi's face started to grow pale the second the teen open up his mouth. " so, so and then what happen next? you said your lover turned into one of things -- what happened? did you kill her? like -- was it a messy kill or a clean kill? " hitoshi was sweatdropping, his hand smoothes out maron's mane, trying to send a telepathic message of some sort to mayu's horse to shift it's position closer to the quieter twin. however, it's like hinata doesn't know how to breathe, his mouth kept moving and noise kept coming out from there. " to be honest, i don't quite mind either but yukito gets really fussy when blood splatters. he likes to keep everything neat and tidy. touya says no lady is gonna wanna marry him if he's over -- " he stopped talking, thank god, but the old doctor found himself nearly experiencing a heart attack when on his left, a sword was whipped out without a single notice. " hina? shut up. " the tone was dripping with cold, iciness, glaring at his identical twin, wondering why he failed to murder his brother when they were both in their mother's womb. " when have touya's words ever been trustworthy? if you put a dress over a goddamn tree, that dog would go into heat with it. " a whimper slips out from hitoshi, his eyes glued on the blade, glancing to the tip which was at hinata's throat. blood slowly ooze down, but the boy did not look all that bothered. " ehhhhhhh, that's so mean yuu !! what has touya ever done to you? he's the friendliest ever ! ah, you're a mood killer, a total mood killer ! boo, boo, boo ! " pouting he has his arm crossed, but the corner of his mouth twitched, his own eyes glowed with anticipation and slight blood lust, claws already out ready to fight his brother if he needed to. his blood was boiling to move, to fight -- it was such a pity gin had sent him away, he wanted to stay and have fun -- see all those monsters too. " admit it, you totally envy touya, huh? boss totally chose him to stay behind rather than you~ " a menacing growl was heard coming from yukito, but before he could even say out his next word, makoto got in between them. " if you two are going to fight, i prefer you use that energy to the enemies in front of us. "
they've finally arrived at the village, however, what awaited them wasn't all that great -- there was no sign of life, the snow was painted in deep scarlet. the scent of blood could be smelled even without the heightened sense of a were-beast. makoto got off his horse and in a matter of seconds, he was already able to deduce what had happened. there's a reason why the team was set up this way, you know? yukito shoved his sword back into the sheathe cover, his eyes dilated. even without makoto's orders, he had already knew what to do from the start. you could hear the loud crack of his bones as they shift to the desired form he wanted. as part of the bird clan, the twins' features were very in close resemblance with the humans -- they didn't have features like seen in the feline and dog clans. large wings sprouted on his back, his talons ripped through the sole of his shoes, taking flight up into the heavens. hinata also transformed, but the form he took was different than his brother, it was one more adjusted to the land. his legs more powerful and enlarge claws that could rip out a heart before the mind could even process it. makoto sent over a gentle, closed eye smile, " please find a safe place to hide, hitoshi .. " however, the old man didn't respond, his jawline still remains agape to the sight before him, what was going on? why are they all going crazy? sure there was no form of life, but there's no dang -- splatter. blood spilled on his face. he made a mistake, the most terrifying being he should have been wary of from the start wasn't the twin, but this mortal of a man in front of him. two heads were impaled by his sword in a matter of seconds, completely separated from their body, which dropped loudly to the snowy ground. " i'm really not an awful person, you know. but, for now, we all know the plans right? just take everything in calmly and slow, breathe.. assess our situation first. don't jump in blindly. what was that our leader always says? ah, yes. and, of course, stay alive. REPLY BACK GO KIYOSHI ..

SAYAKA WAS DISTRACTED . " there's a bird, " the small child said, peeking out of the male's shoulder, she pointed up high to the sky. the creature flew near the area chaos was brewing, a loud thundering roar was heard. this time you could hear the voice much more clearly, " i'm HUNGRY . " sayaka flinched at the rage laced within those words, rather than feeling scared -- she felt sad for it. " what was that? " she whispers, her head turns over to the side to see what was going on .. however, they were still too far from it, she couldn't make out the figure but buildings and homes were disappearing. something was out there swallowing everything. however, it was starting to get closer and closer to them with each passing moment. her tiny hands clutched tightly onto the male's clothes with all the strength she could foster. she fears if she lets go, he'll disappear too -- she couldn't let that happen. with a newfound determination, the child had decided, she needs to keep an eye on him and protects him. " i'm not a kid, " she cast a small glare at him, detesting that word severely. being the stubborn human she is, she pushes herself off of him, she hops to the cold ground, feeling the icy snow beneath her feet. she winced, it really, really hurt -- but, it was fine. she needed to prove her worth right now. all the tears she spent shedding away was all dried out. gulping down the boulder of saliva building up from her throat, " my mom .. if we can defeat that thing, i'm sure she'll get better again. " the child said, hope shimmering in her violet hues. deep down, she knew it herself, that what she was saying was illogical -- but, she couldn't just stand here and do nothing.
her gaze stopped over at the mountain of dead bodies which was only a few steps away from them. one of them had a dagger in his hand, and that's something she could use right now. without a moment to waste, sayaka act fast, she ran to them, eyes glued to the weapon as she dug it out of the dead man's hand .. but suddenly, she wasn't on the ground anymore. she was mid-air. something was holding onto her, " huh ? " she remained frozen, in her hand was the dagger that she had finally pried out, but her hand -- it wasn't moving. the same voice that had been roaring several moments ago was now whispering sweetly in glee, " i'm hungry ... " wet, sticky saliva rain down on her small form as a gigantic hand grasp onto her tightly. her violet hues reflected back a black void cloaked figure with thousands of mouths decorated in its dark endless abyss. whispering again, this time sounding more like a desperate plea for help, " i'm hungry .. " tears streamed down her face, finally realizing why there were so many mouths .. they were humans, not just anyone. they're people she once knew. and, they're all starving. suffering ! she lets go of the dagger, somehow, all the energy she had left was just gone. her eyes fluttered closed, she was cold and tired ..

" this is why i hate humans, always dragging down others to join in your pathetic miseries .. " yukito growls, his feet landing on top of the creature, " oi, fatass .. did your taste change into little girls now? " the were-beast's gold hues connected with the peach-colored male in from of him. however, there are symbols written, made especially for people on death row. he scoffed, the plan was to save any civilian he could find -- but do criminals even count? " this is your chance to run, so do it now. “ yukito spoke, “ or you could die here, in the belly of this monster. “

her ash grey lashes fluttering open and closed when the crowned prince had questioned her , once again , whether or not she was okay . wait , he was asking if she was okay , mayu thought he was asking about the satchel because the information that was stored in this pouch of her’s . her pools of pure silver with hints of green flashes with surprise - did he just jump out the window like she did because you know , easier ? “ i am okay , i am not missing a limb or anything , just got pierced , no biggie . “ shrugging it off but to only agitate her injury , the feline winced before quickly regaining composure , smiling through her veil and then a thumbs up . “ i am not sure either , pure instincts kicks in when i am in a sticky situation and my instincts says jump out the window . “ she was just as confused about her choices as much as the next person was , looking down at her left ankle before looking away once again - it didn’t hurt that badly , it was throbbing a little but she can still move . although she would recommend too not use it so much because that certain area is trying to repair the damage but if you put so much pressure , it will take longer to heal . sigh , curse werebeasts genetics , it doesn’t go that far as to help you with changing your feet shape to not twist when you land on a rock . while thinking about all of the situations in her head , she heard the clear words of sorry coming from the male in front of her . white ears twitching slightly from the sudden soft voice , “ oh don’t be sorry ! i will be alright ! nothing i can’t handle . “ the young doctor had tried to reassure the prince but on the inside , she wasn’t too sure of it herself . was she going to turn into a monster ? if she does , she wanted to see her mother one last time and give her one of the biggest hug she can muster up . . the fear was swelling up in her stomach , it was overwhelming . what if she hurts people that she loves when she turns , the doctor was freaking and panicking in her mind and it was as if there’s no switch to just flick off .
her breathing was getting slightly rapid , was it just her or was it difficult to breathe here ? nope , just her panicking . you know what snapped her back to reality , when she felt a small graze against her wound which causes for her to wince , snapping her out of her panic mode . “ you know , just because i said i am okay , it still hurts - . . . “ trying to lighten the mood a bit by making a lighthearted joke , the female’s voice was cut off by the royal male and the sudden move he had done . mayu tensed up as her mouth gaped open just by a bit , the cold air that had hit her injury felt rather nice . . soothing if you must , but the actual scene they are having wasn’t that soothing . her voice got caught in her throat as this whole situation caught her off guard - the daughter of the yuuna family merely blinked in shock , she was a doctor and she could handle her own injuries but did a prince just - well then . after it was done , mayu quickly readjusted her clothes a bit before looking over to the side . “ uhm . . thanks . . “ is that what you’re supposed to say after that ?? who the hell knows , this whole thing is confusing as it is , this was just the cherry on top . clearing her throat once again before nodding her head , “ i can walk and run , it’s okay ! but yeah , i am not the type to run and jump a lot and genetics didn’t help me with giving me feet that can avoid rocks twisting my ankles , ahah . . okay , i will stop . “ mayu had tried to joke about it but to end up feeling awkward , she closed her mouth and bit down on her tongue .
” it’s about to be dark and i doubt that people will come out and help light our lights , so come on while we still have a bit of daylight left . “ mayu had said , although her ankle did seriously bother her , she was doing the best to suppress the pain as there was enough adrenaline pumping through her to help her keep moving , she has to head into the next town where her mother was located , she was worried sick about her mother . she has to be okay , right ? she has to be . . oh screw it , they won’t know until they reached the other side of the town . it didn’t take them too long to reach to the other side of the town , since this is a rather small town , it definitely wouldn’t take too long . her pools of liquid silver green had landed on a giant gluttony steroid mutant , great , another one . something caught her eyes , it was a little kid with bright crimson red hair and eyes like the amethyst gems - a low inhuman growl came out of her , her tail sways in a warning manner . “ hold this , real quick . “ the girl had said to kazuma and without a second thought , threw the satchel at him . the leopard had charged at the giant creature with the sword that she had stolen from earlier , with all the force she can muster up including the adrenaline that’s fully pumping through her , she had cut the hand that held the child - mayu had leaped into the air and wrapping her arms around the young girl in a protective manner . “ pick on someone your own size . “ growling her words , mayu held the girl’s head against her chest protectively while her tail wrapped around the child gently , as to comfort the young girl . for now , the pain was dull within her body , but once the adrenaline loses its effect , she will experience wave of pain . for some reasons , she also felt a wave of heat along her body , mayu winced a bit before shaking it off . right now wasn’t the time to worry about some silly injuries , there’s a mutant here that just screeched out in pain from losing a hand and of course , raging . mayu had held sayaka close to her body before leaping out of the way once again from an incoming attack , hopefully her body doesn’t give up on her before this thing dies . .

𝐊𝐈𝐘𝐎𝐒𝐇𝐈 》 Kiyoshi didn’t know how to process what had happened in a matter of seconds. First the little girl ran off, a chicken man appeared, the thing picked the girl up, and some cat girl cut off its arm? Yeah, maybe he did die and this was all in his head. Forming eye contact with the boy who landed on top of the monster, kiyoshi just let out a sigh; “Never in my life would I think I would witness a zoo outbreak- Let alone be spoken to by a chicken kid”. Tilting his head to the side to wrap his head around what he wanted to do, the peach haired male started to make his way towards the gluttonous mutant. “If any situation even has a fraction of a chance that I’ll die, I won’t run from it. I’m sure you’ve already realized I’m a criminal on death row so maybe whatever happened to this town was a blessing and god is giving me another chance to redeem myself. I’d rather be eaten by whatever this thing is than live, but as you can see. It hasn’t even taken into account that I exist”. Picking up the dagger that sayaka had previously dropped, Kiyoshi began his way towards the monster with a blank expression. “I know the pain of starvation, it’s not a nice feeling but don't you think having to live with that pain is worse? Why not just die and never have to feel again? Come on now, I have no clue how something as big as you can die. Maybe you should starve to death. I’ll make sure that each mouth you open hurt so bad that you won’t even think about swallowing anything up”.
Reaching into one of the mouths of the monster, Kiyoshi dug his nails into the tongue of that mouth and roughly tugged it out, exposing it to the frigid winter air. “I’ll cut up each and every one of these mouths. Starting with the tongue. Then I’ll shove this blade inbetween your teeth and break them apart before I dig each and every one of these mouths off of that black void you have for a body.” Kiyoshi’s voice dropped with each sentence that rolled off of his tongue. Even if you couldn’t see his face you could see the man was serious. Just the charm of a murderer, right?

EVERYONE WAS FINALLY REUNITED . okay , okay. there was so many things they all wanted to say with each other , for instance , " what the fuck are you carrying touya ? and , what are you wearing ? " gin uttered out , giving the dog a deadpanned look , staring right at the chicken which touya was holding very protectively within his arms. " captain , langauge , please . you're going to make shuu feel scared . oh , his name's shuu . " ayumi gave the male a look , correcting his words , gently patting his back , chuckling softly with one hand covering her mouth . " her . it's a she . " the female ook one more glance at touya's outfit again , one he had to wear due to him pissing off akane earlier , it's a really , really long story . touya cast an apologetic look to the young nurse before finally continuing on with his story , " well , she's actually not shuu , more like a shuu jr .. was the last shuu's daughter . i know , i know . my mind's pretty blown away too , by the fact there was actually two chickens this entire time . anyway , long story short -- he was a hero and that hero's blood runs through this one's very vein right here ! " touya raised the chicken up hight to the sky and like perfect timing , the gallant sun pulls up forwards , shining it's light upon the child as it let out a loud sound , " chukka doddle doo !! "
" i - that's .. " gin was so lost with everything , makoto who stood next to him shook his head , but his eyes held amusement in them . " you mean while mayu , kazuma , and i fought for our lives , you were there partying with five others over a chicken .. i - you know what , i don't care . there's a monster swallowing up everything around us , go wag your tail at it ." touya nods , his hand tapping at his forehead , saluting his leader , before running off to the other side towardws the chaos , handing the chicken over gently to ayumi , who joined the other six ( hitoshi , genki , tobi , akane , shiori ) -- setting up the survivor camp . she quickly adapted to the ever changing environment , her eyes soften as she reassured everyone with her gentle words. with every new person the team found , she quickly brought them into safety . shiori's voice booms , " alright , one at a time , ya damn brats . we're limited on supplies , so one scoop of potato stew for each . " akane was to the side , chopping the ingredient non-stop while both tobi and genki were both task with cutting woods to continue the warm fire. hitoshi , found himself tasked with looking over the people's health and tending their wounds.
" how long did it take this camp to set up ? " gin asked , it wasn't perfect , but the fact that there were this many survivors still left from the village was a little bit overwhelming . " i didn't do it alone . to be honest , i didn't quite think there would be any sign of life here , but hitoshi found them all one by one . with me and hinata dealing with the other walking deads , we gathered up some talented people here to set up this area . it helped that , we got quite a skillful red haired lad over there with yukito right now , they been delaying the arrival of gluttony . " a cheeky grin spreads on makoto's lips , teasing the male , he taunts him with his words which only seem to tick the silver - head even more . " it's all about luck , gin~ " hinata rushed over to the two , he immediately shifts back to his regular human form as he jumped onto gin's , giving him a hug with a huge grin plastered upon his face . " ah , leadeeer , you're back !!! " he cheered , rubbing his own cheeks to the man's. his eyes glowed in excitement , " did you see that red haired man ? leader , let's recruit him . yukito said he's like a criminal on death row .. so , we shouldn't , but we toally should -- also , i am booooored . how come i'm here and not over there with gluttony ? can mayu-chi even fight ? she looks really pale .. she really looks like she's about to collapse any mo- " gin clamps his hand over hinata's mouth immediately , shutting the teen up , trying to process through the words . " wait .. hold on , she's where ? oi , kazuma , you were supposed to be watching he- fuck , where the hell did they both go ? " dropping the hinata down , the male turned around only to find the two he had come with just sorta disappeared . he literally just turned a way for a quick second and now they're gone -- one was severely injured and the other was a royal , he needed to watch over . it's honestly safe to say that gin sorta fucked up big time . " you should go , take hinata , i'll handle everything from here , " makoto reassured , " most of the undead are sleeping right now since the sun rise earlier .. right now i'm having all the surviving men gather all their bodies in one place , so we got it from here . IT'S LIKE IT COULD UNDERSTAND KIYOSHI'S WORDS . not reacting well to the male's threat , it squeezed thre child in it's grasp even tighter , sayaka gasped , her own nails digging into the creature's hand, trying to gasp for air . her face turning red , tears sprining out from her eyes from the pain . she still couldn't find it in her to actually hate the monster nor could she ever fight back -- their voices . they belonged to everyone she once knew . old man shigure was scary , yes . he scolded her many times , but whenever she got hurt , he'd give her a piggyback ride . and , big sister hiyori .. she could remember her voice , the older female who would tell her stories of all the adventures she had in the cpaital , how all the men would be captivated by her beauty . yes , so many familiar voices she could hear each time this monster spoke , it was hungry .. " i'm sorry , " she whispered out , wondering to herself why she was still alive when so many others have been devoured . everyone in her village was lovely , they worked hard despite the famine they suffered . the hopes they held onto tightly and they were good , good people who never deserved any of this .
gluttony let out yet another roar unaffected by the sun rise that just awoke after the long night . while its allies scurried quickly to hide within the darkness of the comfortable shade , it remained standing and growing . thousands of soul churning within it , the negative emotions filled it up with anger . " FOOD .. MUST .. DEVOUR .. " wet saliva dripped on sayaka as it brings her forth to one of its open mouth . however , before the child could end up in its belly , its hand was slashed off , the red-haired child fell within the arms of the snow leopard . gluttony was slow at reacting to its' own lost limbs -- it took around five minutes for it to realize for one of it's tongue to turn into ice by kiyoshi earlier . biting down on her lips , sayaka weeped into the female's arms , " please .. " she didn't know who the lady was , but her hand reached to clutch tightly onto the fabric of her clothes , " please .. is there any way to save them ? their voices , they're all good people .. "
" mayu , get out of there ! " kazuma yelled , throwing his sword at it's heel to slow the movements. the male quickly covers the two gials with his body , pulling out the second blade he had stole from one of the dead bodies from earlier , to block the other arm that aimed to him . yukito let out a huff , his gold hues turned irritated , " we've already tried that , you idiot prin- king . " his wings flapped , creating a strong gust of air , " it moves slow , but it heals hella fast .. this psycho and i here tried hacking it apart , but nothing worked . i'd go for the brain , but as you can see genius , they're all mouths . " glancing over to kiyoshi , he throws the male a look , " i mean , considering the fact its been trying to eat anything but you .. we can always try to see if throwing you in it's belly will do the trick in ending it? who was the peach blonde male ? pools of floral evergreen wanders up and down on the tall male , she doesn't recognize him from his attire but something did stand out to her . the male had the symbol that belongs to none other than criminals on the death row . to mayu , it didn't quite surprise her that he actually survived but what surprised her was just the way he acted . the male seems to not show any sign of fear in his eyes and actions , grabbing the creature by the tongue while speaking to the mutant with poisonous words . well , isn't he a pleasant fellow . . yuuna had held the shivering girl within her arms , she felt a gentle but strong grip on her clothes - looking down at the girl , her eyes seems to have soften up before she crouches down to her level . brushing away the tears and the crimson strands that had clung onto the porcelain skin of the child , mayu could only offer a bittersweet smile . " i'm sorry , dear . . i would love to help them and i'm sure they were good people . all we can do for now is put them out of their misery and i can help you give a proper burial , if it will make you feel a bit better . . " the feline had said , stroking the head of the young child , this was all she could offer to the girl . as much as she wants to , they know nothing of this current epidemic , it was only just the beginning . . .
turning her head to the voice that had called out for her name , the leopard looks up before getting onto her feet once again , keeping the child behind her back . " kazuma - " mayu had flinched a bit before grabbing the young girl , she picked the kid up and brought her to a safer area and crouches down to her level once again . " the young doctor had said before giving sayaka the dagger that she had dropped from earlier , mayu can tell that sayaka is just trying her best to survive in this world . unfortunate timing . . . sigh . . the snow leopard looks over at the mutant once again . . . " mayu had that line on repeat in her head , watching everything from the side very attentively . . it's true they're all mouths but there is something that they are missing , one of the heads seems to show a whole different type of aggressive near the mid top , covered by other limbs and corpses . it's hard to catch a glimpse of it but mayu was 100% sure she can aim for it . " here goes nothing . . " the doctor had said to herself , this was a suicide mission , but while the mutant was distracted by everyone around , she can definitely do it .
" please just hang in there a little while longer . . . " mayu had said to herself , she felt her vision getting blurry -- this was definitely not the time for this . " begging her body to keep up with her , picking up the sword with both of her hands -- the feline had started out with a full sprint before jumping over kazuma and landing right onto the mutant . " gah ! just . . . let me . . . help you ! " yuuna had exclaimed , clinging onto the mutant who was now just trying to swing her off , her grip was slipping slowly but she couldn't let it go . not right now . she was too close ! climbing a bit higher before lifting up the sword with both her hands and plummeting it right into the skull of a female . ' i-i . . i did it ! i really just did it ! i . . . ' the snow leopard had cheered in her mind but it seems like she has reached her limit , while the mutant had just been stabbed in the brain , it had immediately threw the young girl right off . she couldn't move , her body felt really heavy as if everything in the world was just holding her down and her vision was just . . blacking out . . skidding across the ground , the doctor couldn't do anything but let her eyes close . .
" mayu ! " dropping a woven basket off her back , a taller and older female who looks relatively similar to the young doctor had slid right to the unconscious girl . the same long moonlight silver locks , the same texture of curls , rosy white skin , and the silver green eyes . " one of you guys , pick her up ! dear child , come here ! " signaling to one of the guys that were just standing there now and to sayaka , " my house is not too far from here but deeper within the forest , we can bring her back there . if you guys have others , bring them along too , you can't stay out here . " the mother had explained before looking once again and pointing over at kiyoshi , " you , guy with the hair , bring my basket with you . "

This seemed to have created a much more negative atmosphere despite the smile the first princess had presented. Retrieving her hands away from the queen to take a step away from the woman, Hanae took a good look around at the others. They all appeared like they were about to take their last gulp of air. It wasn’t surprising, especially since she had said such foul and immoral words to the queen. “Ah, It seems you have all forgotten your place in this world of status and structure. Shall I break it down for you all again?”. Waving her hands as to dismiss her maidens to spare them the heavy atmosphere, the princess walked right over to the seat where her mother used to sit which now riddled the stench of Fumiya. “It doesn’t matter if I am only a princess and you stand on the throne of her majesty. I am my father, the late king’s, first born daughter and you are a mere replacement for my father’s constant heartbreak. You are no queen in the eyes of man but instead a straw puppet who will soon decay in time. His current highness left the castle in order to discover more about the sickness being spread to his people while you sit here eating extravagantly as your people starve on the streets. Riches do not make you royalty, but your loyalty to your people and country do. This goes towards the lords and ladies as well. Your unfair treatment of the country's people will only drag you to the deepest parts of hell. As you raise the taxes of your land to eat off of my people, their anger boils and will not think twice if your body was rotting on the side of the road. Sitting in awe, every man present seemed to have a look of uneasiness at what the princess had just said. Slamming her palm down on the table, the princess demanded silence while was easily obliged. “A lower rank? Who could fall any lower than you? Yes, I am still just a princess, and I had no problems offering the role of King to my younger brother when my father passed. Though that doesn’t make me any less capable. It just so happens that you lords do not fancy the idea of being controlled by a woman. Even if her majesty were to pass I would never become queen for you to toy with. Instead I would rather rebrand that position as another kind of King… If the word king is what it takes to get you men to listen then I guess that’s what I’ll have to become right? And sir hatake? I refuse to be another woman who will pass in your home. Which reminds me. He was just trying to find a way to die, but if his hypothesis were correct; being in this group would mean his survival rate would shoot up. They were armed with blades and even had were-beasts at hand! It was such a drag, but he couldn’t leave until he knew the little girl was okay… and maybe the feline girl even though he was pissed off that she killed the thing that was supposed to give him that sweet delicious taste of death.”So who even are you people… Street performers? I mean that the girl has an okay face, but you guys look like you got hit by an iron pan. Maybe that’s part of the show? You guys are just ugly to make her stand out? Quite smart if I say so myself”. If you were wondering; ‘does this guy have a death wish?! Does he want to die?’. Yes, yes he does. Plain and simple.
Tripping over tree roots as the group were making their way to this lady’s home, Kiyoshi took more interest in the branches of the woods. Were they sturdy enough to carry his body weight? It would be a shame if they ended up breaking off like last time. And the time before that. Ah but the forest also homed a huge variety of toxic plants and fruits! A ‘dream come true’. Once the group finally arrived at their destination, the convict made a face in awe. It was a lovely home and it fit this lady most definitely. The setting even fit considering she’s a feline. “Those two will be alright in your care right? I haven’t had a chance to thank miss bouncy cat over there for helping that kid out... Anyways! It was a pleasure to meet you folks, but I really should be on my way! Death waits for no man!~” Handing the basket to one of the chicken boys, his eyes wandered back to the little girl. OKAY , NEXT ARC . to explain things, everyone is together. most of the dead bodies have all been gathered and been lit on fire. you could see the smoke rising, even from deep in the forest of the snow leopard's home. ayumi rushed to hug mayu, her eyes tearful, " oh gods, i am so happy you're okay ! " she pulls away, chuckling to herself, briefly looking at the shoulder injury. she reach to capture the female's hands, holding them gently, " i guess i shouldn't have done that. how did you get hurt? last i saw you, you brought in a patient, dressing his wounds .. i saw so many of our friends died, our patients. i tried to help, but .. " on the other side of the room, there stood hinata who literally jumped onto kiyoshi's back, sayaka hugging and clutching over the male's long left leg with her entire body. the hyper twin-spoke his words out, " no fair ! you got to spend time with yuu .. now that i'm here, you're going away?! " sitting down, with a book in his hand, yukito cast a glare to his brother, scoffing. before the male could even make his rebuttal, makoto clapped his hands, gathering attention to himself. " okay, okay. shall we all introduce everyone? let's just swap information and catch up on everything first, okay? i'll start. " the green haired man took charge, standing in the middle of the room as he gave a polite smile to the older silver haired lady who kindly offered them her shelter. " i'll keep it short. my name's makoto, when i arrived to this village, it was infested with these walking deads. people were hiding in hays, barns, it was chaos. currently, we're hunting all the dead, infected bodies we can find -- they seem to sleep during the day, so i have to assume they do not like sunlight, therefore, i can assure everyone that it is safe to move about from here on out. " hopping right off, hinata gazed at each and everyone excitedly, wishing to speak about his experience, but, " zip it, hinata. and, hold on to that suicidal maniac before he does something dumb. " sayaka didn't quite like the tone of that specific older brother, she glares at him, " don't call him dumb ! he's not !! " closing his book, yukito rose from his seat, he rolled his eyes, " and, who the hell are you supposed to be, you shrimp? " her brows furrow at the nickname, burying her face, hiding herself away against kiyoshi's leg. " sayaka, but this big brother's a really nice person !! " scoffing at the child's words, yukito waved it off, following along with makoto plan. " he's only nice beacuse he saw a chance at death. i fought with him, god knows how many times he tried to throw himself into the creatures mouth until that girl over there destroyed the monster. " yukito pointed directly at mayu, before continuing, " as most of you all already aware, there was a mutant, we codename it gluttonny .. it swallowed down everything in it's path. it was slow, but it was strong. from what i gathered, despite their strength, they are not intelligent. i don't even think they can tell who their allies or foes are .. i saw it swallowing down most of the undead earlier. " bringing a tray of food into the room, kazuma sets it down, literally already making a home for himself here. he basically already caught the gist of everything that was going on. " we encountered a monster similar to gluttony at the hospital too .. it took on a different form though, but it didn't speak as much. only when it died, did it spoke its final words. " pouring the tea, gin pushes the old doctor hitoshi towards the middle of the room, " oi, you're the one with the answer here, speak .. that kid over there injured her shoulder because of that monster. " adjusting his glasses his face was full of concern for mayu but before he could speak, genki beat him to it. " WHAT? THAT MONSTER DID THAT TO HER? " holding onto his chicken, the older man looks horrified, suddenly backing away from mayu like she was a disease. tobi, shiori and akane did the same, doubt filling their gazes. " you see what happened. all it takes is a bite and you become one of them, who knows what she'll do to us when night come. " ayumi squeezed mayu's hand in comfort, " calm down, everyone .. i'm sure mayu's okay. you guys remember mayu, right? she tended your wounds. she cared for everyone here .. she's not the type to hurt anyone. " shaking his head, the young tobi looks to the two nurses, " you can't trust anyone anymore .. she's definitely infected. she's not going to be mayu anymore .. " he rolls into a ball, his face burried in between his knees. " wow, you guys are depressing .. captain, this was what i had to dealt with on the other side of the hospital, so can you cut me some slack already? " touya spoke out, opening the door to enter into the chaotic mess of a room. he walks over to mayu, " look, guys. we can burn the dead bodies, that's okay .. but, i don't know how i feel about burning her, she still looks .. alive .. and, there's the other matter of the sword she took too, but for now. i think we all should eat first before we discuss what to do with her. " what have you done for our country exactly? i don't understand why you're so upset, darling. especially on such a joyful event. the way you're phrasing things, it sounds we're all doing something bad ! " she rests her hand over her heart, the other over her unborn child. all tears she spilled had finally dried out, as she forces herself to stand. " but, did you forget my dear .. " she took a step closer to hanae, tucking the loose strand of hair behind her ears, hands ran down, smoothening the silk robes. yuuna , kanade - the mother of yuuna , mayu , everyone probably discovered that these two are related by blood . the mother's cold icy blue eyes glances around at everyone before pouring a cup of tea for herself , picking it up and drinking it . the mother was sitting there quietly , listening to what everyone had to say while mayu felt herself tackled into a hug by a familiar face , mayu's pools of silver widens open while her tail seems to have frozen in time from the sudden embrace . " a-ayumi ! " the young leopard was happy and relieved that a familiar face was with her , returning the embrace to the working nurse , slowly dropping her arms down once again with a gentle smile playing upon her lips . " i could be better but i will manage , like always . " mayu had said , trying to reassure the worried female and offering a smile . feeling a pair of warm hands wrapping around her own semi cold ones , " oh . . ahah . . it's kind of a long story , ayumi . . " the young female kind of was feeling a little awkward , she doesn't know what to do or how to explain herself . . she doesn't know how to tell them about it . . mayu's mother immediately offers a cup of tea to ayumi after sensing the discomfort from her own daughter , " here , ayumi , have a cup of tea . " pouring a cup of tea and gently pushes it to the other young doctor . kanade gently rests a hand on her daughter's back , stroking her back while eyeing the wound -- they have to treat it immediately despite being bandaged . " we have to get you cleaned up and taken care of . . " mayu's mother had whispered quietly to her daughter and in response , mayu had nodded her head in agreement . " i'm mayu as some of you guys already know and this my mother , kanade . " the young leopard had introduced both herself and her mother , before lowering her head a little . she's not too sure on how she feels about the whole situation that they are in right now , her mind was flooded with thoughts and panic . although it seems like everything was fine right now , with people talking but it just became white noise to her ears . she was genuinely panicking about her condition , the blood was slowly seeping through the bandages that wrapped around her left shoulder , slowly but surely . the iron smell was stinging her nose and it made her scrunch up her nose , was she going to turn by the night fall ? how does any of this work ? mayu wasn't too sure of it herself . . . she was just as confused as the next person was , even her mother on the other hand was worried about the daughter's wellbeing . it wasn't fear for her daughter to turn into one of the walking dead but it was a fear that her daughter's life getting cut short . kanade's heart hurts for her daughter , she couldn't bear to watch her daughter to die in front of her and she really hopes she doesn't and lives for a while . . as long as she can't . . the young doctor's body seems to have tensed up and her eyes has widened up , everything that she has been panicking about and being scared of is happening . gin had told everyone in the room that the injury on her shoulder was caused by a mutant . her hands gripping onto her clothes tightly , her knuckles turning ghost white from how hard she was clenching her fists . the sudden outburst by the elder male with his pet chicken startled mayu , she lifted up her head with eyes that were just filled with pain and sorrow . . . she was scaring them . . . her heart felt like it had dropped down to her stomach , even ayumi's word doesn't seem like it's reaching into their ears -- they looked at her with . . fear . . it felt like the world around her was crumbling -- meanwhile kanade on the other hand , the mother's tail was swinging from left to right - brushing against the tatami mat floor , she felt some sort of rage within her stomach . she has been quiet the entire time , she wanted to know how they were all going to handle this situation and what they were going to do but it was getting to the point where she can feel the pain from her own daughter , that's where it was just hitting her buttons . mayu lifted up her head to look up at touya , her white crystal eyes were glistening with orbs of water clinging onto her eyes and lashes . " touya . . . " the leopard had whispered out , was he trying to help her ? if he was , you caught her at the right time where she is about to cry . bang . a loud slam onto the table sounded throughout the room , silencing everyone's voices - kanade lifted up her head while her cold icy blue eyes were scanning throughout the room , mostly to the cowards of the group . " if any of you have any comments on my daughter , i will kindly ask of you to leave this place , as i do not welcome you to my home to talk badly of my daughter . even if she is injured by a mutant , if you come onto my property , then i ask of you to respect the things and the people in my home or you can walk yourself right out , or i will personally escort you out . " her tone of voice was ice cold and lingering with poison , kanade was not going to tolerate anyone to talk badly about her daughter and have them make her feel so bad about herself . " now , if you would excuse me and my daughter , we will be right back . you can leave if you don't want to be around my daughter and because of your fear . " the older feline had said before helping the daughter up and escorting her away to tend to her injuries . skipping the moment of the mom taking care of mayu's injuries because too much work . sliding the door open once again , kanade walks in before looking around the room , " you , the one being a tree for two smaller ones , come help me with prepping the food . " pointing a wooden spoon at kiyoshi once again , something about this male makes this older woman want to pick on him . oh , mrs . yuuna knows that he is a criminal on the deathrow but who gives a fuck ? " what do you like to eat ? " once the male was standing in front of her , the leopard had asked kiyoshi of what he would like to eat and will teach him to make things . while mayu on the otherhand , she kind of slowly walks back into the room with her hands behind her back . " hey. . . uhm. . sorry for taking your sword earlier, i cleaned it up for you ! hopefully it would make it up to you ? " mayu had said as she took the sword from behind her back and placed it onto both her palms , so that touya would have a easier time to take the sword by the hilt .

𝐊𝐈𝐘𝐎𝐒𝐇𝐈 》 The heavy burden of having two toddlers hanging onto you was something Kiyoshi has never felt before… but instantly disliked. There was no way in HELL he was going to be a babysitter for all of these kids- If he took a closer look at them all, they all seemed to be younger than him! God… He felt like an old man trying to converse with a bunch of teenagers. “Huh… You fought with me? I thought of it more like a chicken bawking around for corn. Oh, there’s two of you now. Well, don’t be going around calling someone a shrimp. Not only do you also look like one, but I believe you stayed safely in the sky while this little one ran at the thing. Which was stupid of her, but I doubt you could even walk in the streets by yourself when you were her age. Now that I think about it. Twins and were-beasts hm? You two must’ve brought someone great fortune hm? Kinda like a freakshow~ How pitiful. Maybe that’s why you two turned out to be such brats.” Sending a smug look at the twins (specifically yukito), his eyes soon averted its attention towards the oldest in the room. Damn she’s loud. Maybe that’s why she’s here alone. Her husband probably got annoyed and left. But, It was respectable that she was defending her daughter’s name. Afterall mayu was sort of thrown to the wolves with these guys. One even smelled like a wet dog so quite literally too-
As soon as the two leopards returned, Kiyoshi had a bad feeling as soon as the older woman made eye contact with him. “Me?! Hey lady, sure I can work a blade around, but trust me; I’m not one for cooking. How about asking that thing there for help? He already went snooping around for food. Wait, what the hell??? Why are you making yourself at home already?! Were you all raised in a pigs pen or something? Do you not have any decency?” Disappointment lingered in his voice up until he saw the wooden weapon Kanade was holding; in which he instantly dropped his head after peeling sayaka off of his leg. “I will get straight to cooking ma’am. I can eat anything, even tree bark, but I’d rather feed the rats that rather than myself”. Quickly scurrying to the kitchen, the convict took a look at all the cooking utensils. Possibly… they should have something hot to eat. Chicken rice porridge? Curry? Well these were just ideas- He had no clue on how to cook. If he were lucky, the old lady would just ask him to cut some vegetables. Oh but most of them are really considered carnivores. Ugh. Even though he didn’t have a care in the world about werebeasts and humans, it really ticks him off imagining them complaining about eating greens. “I hope they get scurvy”.
Never in his twenty eight years has he cried while cutting something. It was embarrassing, painful, and just a drag. His cutting work was delicate and finely done, but that seemed to be all he was doing. Trust me, he’s tried to talk his way out of it, but the bumps on his head clearly shows that it never really worked out in his favor. “Can I stop yet-” Ducking his head down, finally he got a point! WHACK. Nope, this woman was definitely a feline. Her fast reflexes always won no matter how hard he tried to dodge the wooden spoon. That makes it 0-14 with the woman winning. “Can’t you be any gentler?! You’re gonna knock me into a coma before I can finish. Actually that sounds pretty ni- OW!”.

kanade looks over at kazuma , who had carried a platter of fruits for them and she kind of just shrugged it off before looking back at kiyoshi . her cold blue crystals were staring straight into evergreen emeralds , squinting at the tall male as he was going to say no to her for cooking until she had pointed her wooden spoon at the male . well didn't he just change his answer rather quickly , a smile played across her lips before retracting the weapon spoon back , " nothing in particular ? i see , maybe some braised pork with porridge and some soup . how does that sound ? " kanade had asked before grabbing her basket , walking along with the young male , anyone that is younger than her is a young male to her , so yeah . kanade crouches down to the ground , picking a cabbage , potatoes , and carrots from her basket and handing it to kiyoshi . " the young child called you kiyoshi , right ? well , kiyoshi , wash these before cutting them . peel the carrots and potatoes too . " swinging the wooden spoon around while she was talking and pointing to each vegetable that she was talking about .
while the young male was cutting up the vegetables she had instructed him to do so , kanade was washing the rice clean so that they can start on the porridge . " no you can not , you'll finish it . " interrupting the male's sentence with her voice and possibly a whack in the head with a wooden spoon - she missed the first time , which caused for her to swing once again . " after the vegetables , cut the pork . heat up the knife and scrape it across the pig skin , it will get rid of any hair and cut it to cubes . " the older female had instructed before pouring the washed rice into a claypot that was sitting over the open fire , not even giving him a look , the leopard had swung her arm once again at the male who was babbling about a coma . " huh . these are cut so nicely , you should definitely cook more , kiyoshi , i think you have the talents to do that . " kanade had complimented while looking at the nicely cut vegetables and nodding her head .
" okay , you want to cook the rice in quite a bit of water , a 1 : 3 ratio , i would say . while in another pot , you will put in the vegetables , to bring out the flavor . " kanade had said before smacking the male in the back of his head with her hand this time , " pay attention . " the leopard had said while teaching the male how to cook different things and instructing him to cook it . basically , she wasn't cooking , she was teaching this male to cook and hitting him with her hand this time instead of the wooden spoon . she was going easy on him by using her hand this time instead of her spoon , but she will still use the wooden spoon as her pointer , telling him what kind of seasoning to put in it while instructing him to start another pot for the soup .

𝐌𝐀𝐒𝐔𝐈, 𝐇𝐀𝐍𝐀𝐄 》The princess was in awe. It was a dangerous game she was playing. The lords had already sided with the queen to empathize with the ‘upset’ woman and even began to villainize the princess who was just trying to make a point. It was definitely some show that the royals were putting up, but Hanae didn’t want this wretched woman to have the last laugh nor make the call for shutting the gates to the capital. Although this was an argument of wits and human morals, Hanae lacked the knowledge of the common man. She lived in extravagant clothes and luxurious meals with the only contact of commoners were when she was accompanied by gin and makoto. Hanae couldn’t understand starvation or illness, she’s always been blindly comforting the commoners facing these hardships. Digging her fingernails into the palm of her hands, the princess was shaking in frustration. She has never lost her temper quite like this before… only a few times but that woman was always there to calm her down. Ah, If only she were still here. Maybe none of this would have ever happened. Maybe father would’ve spent more time with Kazuma and gave him the parental love that he needed rather than despise the child. Hanae understood more now that her father’s heart belonged to that maid, but she also knew that this woman in front of her didn’t in fact love the late king. “I don’t want to think ill of you. You were one of the ladies whom I looked up too ever since I was young. You remember too right? We would talk a lot whether it would be about boys or silly stories of romance. What happened? You used to have so much light in your eyes-”.
If arguing won’t get her anywhere, hanae’s only choice was to try to buy some time and twist the situation around so that Fumiya changes her mind. Hanae and Fumiya had a great relationship in the past. The queen was the closest person hanae had after kazuma’s mother passed away. In fact, Hanae even looked up to the woman. She was the reason that the young princess constantly ran to gin and makoto, begging them to teach her how to use the sword and ride a horse. “Your highness. I beg of you to rethink your choices on shutting the gates. Please give it a few more days. If you fulfill my request I will never question your authority again and… I’ll accept the marriage arrangement”. Sure hanae took a full turn in this discussion, but all she had to do was buy enough time for kazuma to get back. She couldn’t baby him forever so him ruling by himself wasn’t something she was worried about. All she could do was hope and pray that her brother would return soon and take charge. Adding to that, the princess wasn’t too upset with the marriage arrangement. The only thing bothering her was that she knew she was only being married off in order to get her out of the picture.

𝐊𝐈𝐘𝐎𝐒𝐇𝐈 》 Was this old hag just forcing him to make food? It definitely seemed more like he was just getting bullied into doing everything rather than helping out an elderly in the kitchen. Glancing over at the older woman and back at the handy work of his cutting, the 'ex' convict could only let out a scoff of irony. Cut nicely? Well he knew a few things here and there about cutting into things. Just not himself since the blade would always miraculously dull when pressed against his own skin. Kanade didn't need to know that, but she probably knew why else he was good with knives. "for knowing what kind of person I am, you're rather calm. Maybe it's true that the older you get the less sense you have. Letting a group of people stay with you during a time of crisis is rather dense of you. Not only that but do you really think that child of yours is not gonna turn? Not like I care, but you must be worried to some extent." Kiyoshi shrugged as he followed the woman's instructions closely. Honestly. he was kind of hoping that cat would turn and just kill everyone including himself in the middle of the night but... if he let that one slip out he would surely get hit by a mallet next. Wait would that kill him? Peeking over his shoulder to the shorter female, he decided to not try it. If he managed to survive, it would probably hurt like a bitch.
"hey I said I would help. not do everything for you" Kiyoshi groaned as he was now grinding the raw ingredients to make the spices and seasoning for the meal. Did this woman do everything from scratch?! Next she's gonna make him walk four miles to the nearest river to gather water to boil- Oh god please no. "why don't you pick on any of the others out there. I'm sure some are more skilled in this fiel-" With another slap to the back of his head, kiyoshi decided to just shut up and continue doing the feline's bidding. "evil witch" the male grumbled as he silently continued to grind up the dry ingredients. But he couldn't help but ponder. If that woman's child doesn't turn, what would be their next move? Stay here forever? Find somewhere to settle? Well with the monster that they came across, it probably won't be long before the earth is wiped of healthy individuals. ah... he could just drool at the thought of that.

giving the biggest smile the older woman can muster , through gritted teeth , “ am i supposed to be scared of you ? once people have gotten to my age , there is nothing that you haven’t seen or people that you haven’t met . “ quickly and swiftly while she was talking , the leopard swings the wooden spoon and looks away as if she didn ‘ t do anything when she heard him talk about her having less sense . “ she is my daughter at the end of the day , she is the most important person in my life . “ as she was talking about the young girl , her voice and eyes softens up as mayu was her soft spot . mayu and kanade only have each other in this messed up crazy world , they have their arguments but they treasure each other more than anything in this world .

” as for the others , this world has fallen into chaos , we need someone to help other people out if possible . if we don’t , who else will be left in this world besides walking corpses ? “ kanade had replied before blinking her eyes , “ also they helped me bring my treasure back to me . “ she said as her vision wanders over to mayu , who was basically the splitting image of her younger self . hearing about the young doctor have a chance of turning made her heart pinch and twist in despair , no mother wants their child to experience pain or have their life cutting short . letting out a deep sigh , the older woman shakes her head as an answer .

kanade on the side was starting a dough for the bread , since there was so many people , some breads , soup , and a bit of meat would suffice . the older leopard ‘ s forehead seems to have a irked marked before she slowly turns to the male next to her , the ex convict , she grabs a handful of flour and flings it on his face this time before smiling once again . after kneading the dough , she left it on the side to rest before starting on the meat , mainly just cutting them into cubes — kanade was now waiting for the seasoning to be done so that she can marinate for a moment at the very least . the feline ‘ s ear twitched at the name calling , grabbing a skillet with one of her hands . “ who are we talking about ? “ smiling with her eyes closed , the mother of mayu just held the skillet aiming for his head , making sure he sees it without swinging it .

” if you have so much time to talk , you want to also prep the table ? “ kanade said before throwing the knife against the cutting board . the leopard was ready to make this old guy to work , like work hard as if he owes her .
