Magnolia
It's always tea time
Hello!
Magnolia here. I'm new-ish to this site and very recently reintroduced to the world of RP. Last year when I created this account I fully intended to use it to, you know, write with all you lovely people, but then I suppose that thing called Life happened because I never managed to get started. I hope to remedy that ASAP.
Any Kiki's Delivery Service fans out there? I hope so - it's my favorite Ghibli film. I'd like to explore Kiki's world in an original city with all original characters. The premise is similar to the movie: witches (and wizards) in training leave home to hone their magical skill. Coincidentally, and most inconveniently, all our characters choose the same city. Traditionally, only one witch or wizard takes up residence in a location at a time, but none of our characters are willing or able to leave. Tension ensues, and so our story starts.
In this take on Kiki's world, I'd like our characters to be 17 when they set out to begin their solo training. While 13 is a significant number, it always seemed to me a terribly young age to go into the world alone. So, for this RP, we'll say that witches and wizards (male characters have magic in this world, too) leave home when they come of age, at 17. I have a few more ideas that deviate from Kiki's world - more to come on these later.
I'd love to try this story out with 2-3 partners, but this can easily be a 1x1 if only one person is interested.
Communication: If you have an idea, please share it! I love world building and plotting with my partners. Concerns? Shoot me a message. Can't post for a while or need to drop the RP? No problem, just let me know.
Relaxed pace: I'll aim to write 1 to 2 In-Character posts per week, afraid I can't promise more than that. I'll be more available in the Out-of-Character thread and through private messages though. If that pace suits you, then great!
Quality over quantity: Write to move the story forward. Sometimes, less is more. Other times, more is required. I don't like to enforce word or paragraph quotas because certain scenes call for different amounts of writing from each person. That being said, I'm not keen on one-liners. I'll do my best to write something you'll enjoy reading. I hope you'll do the same for me.
That's all I've got for you for now. If you think we'd be compatible writing partners and you're interested in the idea, please let me know!
