Sunlight filtered through the small at tick window, sifting along a green-masked boy, his face ambushed into his old stained white pillow. He bore nothing but a pair of grey boxers and socks. Snores rippled through his chest, makimgnthe dust alomgnthe slivers of gold dance. The kid dreamed of slaying predators on the streets, neon lights guiding him to a building with glass walls. Always in these seemingly never ending dreams did he spec tate the death of Frank D'Amico, the father of Red Mist.
He woke with a jolt, the image if Frank's fear frozen on his face burned behind his eyes. The sound of his blaring alarm clock filling him from a heavy sleep. He breathed out sharply, air rushing into his eyes from the restrictive cloth hanging over his cheeks. He ripped the Kick-Ass mask from his head, tossing it onto the side of his brawl before standing to his feet. He glanced in the mirror, ridding his right arm while raising his left eyebrow with a cocky sneer. "Rawr." He said to his image before slumping sadly at the view of his figure. "Getting soft, Dave." He said to himself. He grabbed a black backpack, placing the green and yellow suit at the very bottom, rearranging his school things to fit the superhero costume. He then bound for his white dresser, whistling a tune as he shifted through the top-drawr. He pulled out a red shirt, sniffing it to make sure it was clean before pulling it over his frizzled curly hair. He then grabbed a pair of jeans, sliding them over his hipbones. David grabbed his phone, checking a text that Mindy had just sent him.
**Getting your lazy ass out of the house today, we need to train.**
Dave sighed, a small whine escaping his pink lips before replying.
**I guess if we really have to.**
After that he set out for school. He pranced down the stairs with his bag across his shoulders. He glanced in the kitchen, waving his hand to a grumpy half-sleeping man. "Bye dad!" He exclaimed, plopping ear-buds in, and grabbing his green bike.
He enjoyed riding his bike during the summer, ot allowed him to get a feel of the streets. A large black limo passed him as he traveled down Farewood Drive, his eyes narrowing to see who was sitting in the very back, gaze falling on Chris D'Amico. His heart sank, guilt sliding down his throat.
