Notifications are non-functioning, and have been for close to a decade. Naturally, the staff know of this, but they have not done anything about it yet. Anything that has actually helped.

Allow me to illustrate how the notification system works (and does not):

After having participated in any thread, or location, in which you are notifiable, you will receive a notification from this place once it becomes viable. However, there are two thresholds involved:
One, you must pass an undefined amount of posts within an undefined amount of time to activate the notifications function.
Two, you must continue to pass the prior thresholds indefinitely. If you do not, after an undefined amount of time notifications will no longer work and you will have to start again.

It can be solved through electronic mail notifications. Or the discord bot.
