At the current imperium, I would say twenty to forty. Just a reminder that a retinue may be bodyguards or household guards in function now, but they may take on the role of an honored regiment later down the line. Hereditary troops and all. So yes, platoon by 3 squads of 12 would work. Players' retinues may increase in size as we grow.
