Dice Kazragun - OOC

I was wondering, now that we have an actual cleric to be able to do some healing, can I retrain my Feat of Extra Lay On Hands for something else? If not, that's ok. I can always use the heals on someone.

Normally two-weapon fighting has a -4/-8 penalty for fighting with a one-handed or light weapon in the primary hand and a light weapon in the off hand. The two-weapon fighting feat reduces that by 2 for the primary hand and by 6 for the off hand. That makes the penalty -2/-2 for one attack by each hand. When you get your second attack at a base attack bonus of +6, that second attack is with the primary hand at a -5 penalty. The new attack progression is now two attacks with the primary at +6/+1. With two-weapon fighting, this becomes a base attack with the primary at a base attack bonus of +4/-1 and an off hand attack with a bonus of +4. Improved two weapon fighting adds a second off hand attack similar to the second primary attack. This progression is +4 primary hand attack, +4 off hand attack, -1 second primary hand attack, and -1 second off hand attack. Thus the penalties are -2/-2/-7/-7 from the base attack bonus of+6/+1. When greater two-weapon fighting becomes available at a base attack bonus of +11 the penalties will be as follows: -2/-2/-7/-7/-12/-12 which will be reflected as +9/+9/+4/+4/-1/-1. These base attack bonuses are adjusted by strength and magic. Hope this dissertation helps. Also if the off hand weapon is a one handed weapon the penalties are worsened by an additional -2 for each.

The -2/-2/-7/-7 is what I was thinking it would be, but thanks for going over it for me in detail.

Thanks for the patience, y'all. Post is up, let me know if I missed something!

About the retraining of feats: Generally, I'm okay with changes like that as long as they go well with the theme of the character. After all, the Pathfinder mechanics are a tool to describe the character, not the other way around - if you feel like something just doesn't fit well with how things play out, just let me know and tell me what you'd like to choose instead.

I actually decided to go with Burning Arc as a spell for lvl 2, can't wait for this rp this in character and bring the whole "anger at being useless" to a close :P Also, I plan to have Baird ask Io about her sister soon.

Thank you. I'll go ahead and pick up Great Cleave instead of the Extra Lay on Hands.

A quick question for those more familiar with Pathfinder than I. The Feat Weapon Specialization says that one prereq for it is Weapon Focus and to be a 4th level Fighter. Does the Paladin class count as a fighter for this, since they are both martial classes, or do I have to be an actual Fighter to get that Feat?

At first glance, I'd say that it's one of the special feats for the actual class "fighter" - one of the feats to make sure that fighters are actually better at killing things the hard way than anyone else.

Any feat that has a particular class as a prerequisite means only that class can take it. This includes the hybrid classes, even though a few have fighter as a parent class it doesn't mean it counts as the fighter class. That was done to prevent the hybrid classes from outshining the core and base classes.
There are, I believe, paladin only feats, but I'm not sure what they are.

To continue on after being so rudely interrupted by work.
There are exceptions to that rule. Some hybrid classes and archetypes will state that they count as class levels for purposes of qualifying for the prerequisite of class restricted feats, but they are exceptions for just those classes and archetypes.
Hope this clears things up.

I haven't found many Paladin-specific Feats, but there are a couple that I just spotted that I have on my wish list: Greater Mercy and Ultimate Mercy. The first adds 1d6 to the Lay on Hands ability if there are not conditions that the Mercy ability can heal, and the second lets you spend 10 Lay on Hands to be able to Resurrect a dead critter.

Cool! I like the idea of being able to be brought back from the dead if things go badly for us in the future.

There will be more than enough opportunities to use Ultimate Mercy later on - given her fighting style thus far, you might need something else to revive Renna first, though...

True - on the other hand, toughness is relative, and I think both Wren and Baird have actually more hp to offer...
