- Appearance
The picture is meant to evoke the character inspiration: Deathshead from Wolfenstein.
Because resurrection rarely is pretty, his appearance might have been vastly different from his hybrid body. Generally, Kalleh-e Marg is supposed to have an uncanny valley appearance as he is a human-paranormal hybrid.
- Personality
In life, he was brilliant but somewhat unpleasant to outsiders. During life, he respected and admired his colleagues with honor and decorum. After his death, he changed dramatically. Because of the horrors he experienced in the afterlife, he was driven insane after he was resurrected as a human-paranormal hybrid. Now that he leads the primary operations against ParaCom, he feels that his purpose is to take over humanity to make way for a new master race that blends the "best of the two worlds" with no "weaknesses of both" in his mind.
Don't let his cheery and optimistic demeanor fool you though. He is often described as having the brilliance of Victor Frankenstein with the madness of the Joker. The other paranormals even tell horror stories of the Head of Death.
- History
Born and raised to a family of moderate wealth in Iran, he didn't grow up rich, but didn't starve either during his mortal life. Before the war, he was an acclaimed engineer and scientist who worked hard and researched his way to the top in Iran. In fact, he became head of the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) programs in Iran's educational area. Once the paranormals attacked Iran, he was among the first to be slain. Once the war officially started, the paranormal forces resurrected him as a monstrous hybrid.
Kalleh-e Marg contributed heavily to the paranormal war machine. The weapons, armor, and even their automation are all of his labors. He first introduced himself to ParaCom on March 8th, 2022. Capturing a squad after a mission in Tehran with knockout gas, he chained them to the walls, forcing the operatives to vote on who gets to be dissected. One of them was a self-sacrifice and he gleefully accepted after a coin toss from another potential "candidate" for his dubious science.
- Equipment
Apart from his scientific tools, he has access to the armory of the paranormal invaders. When fighting gets serious, the Head of Death has a mecha-like colossus that he can pilot to fight the human forces.
The colossus itself is equipped with magitech that can penetrate and disintegrate materials without a modicum of magic resistance. The armor is no slouch either. With reinforced armor, magitech is required in voluminous amounts to pierce the armor.
- Skills
Apart from being a skilled engineer and scientist, the Head of Death also was fluent in languages such as English, Farsi, and even the paranormal lingua franca.
Due to his paranormal abilities, it was rumored that he was smart enough to be considered multidisciplinary, if not knowing every single discipline of science known. As an engineer, he was able to apply the knowledge to deadly effects in the weaponry.
But what was he most infamous for in the paranormal circles? The Head of Death was known to have mad torture methods during his experiments. He earned his fearsome reputation as a torturer.
- Useful notes
Adversary Uncertain was his first appearance. Whenever he doesn't appear, Kalleh-e Marg is sometimes mentioned and dreaded by the paranormal entities the humans are fighting
I also created Kalleh-e Marg/Head of Death fro two reasons. One of the players wanted to kill off one of his characters and that I was getting bored.
The Human-Paranormal War started on approximately New Year's Eve, 2020 or New Year's Day, 2021. The Paranormal were noted for their fondness of attacking during holidays. It was rumored that attacking during holidays would be Kalleh-e Marg's idea.
