Just one big Coincidence (Overly and Infinity)

The Original Chef Kitten

After many miscarriages from the couple, Christoph Kire and his wife, Amanda Kire. All hope for children seemed highly unlikely. Feeble baby after another, they would all fall ill and die after a couple of days, leaving the couple in the utmost stress and sadness. The doctors suggested they stop attempting and try adoption, however the family was determined and for the last time, they tried.

Around 7 months later they discover the fetus's in Amanda's reproductive system were twins, a boy and a girl. All sense of hope was lost. The babies would most likely be too weak to even live the first 3 seconds of life. Even the doctors were saying that because of their current standing of health. By this time the wife of the couple considered of abortion as their only solitude, to at least put the twin's miser at a halt. But the husband objected, being a man whom thought of abortion as immoral and cruel, but he was desperate for a child, as was his wife. So they powered through the next two months, crossing their fingers and hoping for the best.

Like as you expected, the story at this point, ended in a happy moment. The twins were born miraculously, each with their own serious illness and disorder. However after weeks of surgery and work from the doctors the babies were able to finally leave the hospital, perfectly healthy with two happy parents.

After about 3 months for caring for the twins, tragedy struck, a record breaking Tornado. Even though the couple had lived out in the country all their life and Tornadoes were now just a simple drill that they did as if it was practise. But this one was different. When it hit their house it was if three jets crashed into it. The effect was deadly and the parents, as well as the children were sucked into its funnel. However then a miracle sent from the heavens occurred. Somehow, like a set of fine plates and cutlery, the children were set down onto the ground gentler than a women's kiss. However each in dramatically different places.

After a year the babies were adopted by separate families and moved away from each other. Not to see one another again. Or were they?

Twenty Years Later

Setting: Chicago

Weather: Rainy, 48 degrees Fahrenheit

Time: 7:58 p.m., June 7th, 2017

=~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~=

Gary took a quick glance at the clock, 7:30. At the time the weather looked crisp and clear, just a couple clouds floating in. If he were to rush he could easily make it to the café before the weather would frown upon the surface. He grabbed his jacket and slung it on over his body, as a simple preparation if he was indeed caught in an unlikely storm.

His brain was absolutely fried he had been working on his homework since early in a day. It was a boring way to spend his day off from school, but if he wanted a future, he would have to tough it out. At least now he was done, he had finished everything to his standard of perfection, which was quite high and he was quite satisfied. His efforts had definitely warranted him an hours rest at his favourite coffee place. Which was now where he took his breaks, as lame as it sounds.

He was finally prepared, he had his shoes, his jacket, his wallet and his keys. Observing that everything was in place, he nodded to himself and left his apartment and made his way to the Café on foot.

Around twenty minutes later he arrived, only slightly pelted by the incoming rain, that seemed to get worse by the minute. Luckily he was inside and away from the sky's wrath. Now he could just sit and watch the storm come down on people, while he drank his nice warm coffee. When the waiter came around he ordered the cheapest thing there, like he normally did. He wasn't exactly strapped for funds, but he was a little anxious about the bills at the end of the month. He was always terrible at estimating the amount he would have to pay. However, the cheap stuff wasn't exactly terrible. Certainly better than the stuff his room mate bought. That stuff was beyond horrid!

Once the waiter came back with his warm beverage he slowly sipped away at. As a rich man would sip his wine. The storm was certainly entertaining, it was at the point where all that was left on the streets were the cars, the pedestrian had already ran for cover. The shop was also getting filled because of this but the seat next to him was yet to be taken.

Laughing as she ran down the street, stomping through any puddles she found, Kaoru hoped she didn't trip. She was already soaked to the bone, she didn't need to get covered in mud while she was at it. Though she giggled slightly at the thought. Drew would've rolled his eyes had he seen her.

While she knew getting sick would do her no good, the raven-haired girl found she could not bring herself to care, wanting to enjoy acting like a little kid again. Though according to her parents, and Drew, she always acted like a kid. Shrugging slightly, the twenty-year old woman continued to make her way down the fairly empty sidewalk, passing a few people with umbrellas by.

"Be careful little lady!" someone called.

Turning Kaoru flashed the older man a bright smile. "I will-!" she let out a startled 'eep' as she slipped slightly, waving her arms wildly, trying to regain her balance.

Feeling like she was about to fall, she closed her eyes tightly, when arms hooked under hers, lifting her up off her feet. Blinking in surprise, the soaked woman looked around before glancing up, blushing slightly in embarrassment at the man who held her up. With her short stature, the man had easily been able to lift her completely and save her from falling and soaking herself even more.

She thanked the man, stuttering slightly through her embarrassment as he laughed, continuing on his way. Though not before he warned her to be more careful. Nodding with a small smile, she gave the man a wave as she continued down the sidewalk, much more carefully this time.

Cheerful once more, Kaoru started towards her destination again. She'd been planning on meeting up with Drew at the café near their new apartment building before he showed her the way. He'd been down here for a week already and had been moving their stuff into their place before she finally came up from their home of Texas. Hearing a sudden ring, brought the raven-haired woman out of her thoughts.

Kaoru

Hey honey~
right
Drew! What's up?

Hon, I'm not going to be able to make it to the café. Too much bad weather. I know you're almost there so you'll have to sit tight there for a bit.

Darn! :(

Was looking forward to seeing you

Sorry :(
right
It's fine :)

Putting her phone away, Kaoru looked up, realizing she was in front of the café. Smiling lightly she shuffled inside, shivering pleasantly at the sudden warmth the surrounded her.

Looking around, she frowned, realizing there were no free tables, and almost all of them were full. She sighed, pulling her hair over one shoulder and squeezed the water out of it. Spotting an almost empty table, she hurried over to the white-haired man sitting alone.

"Hi!" she chirped, smiling brightly and waving. "Um, sorry, but the storm's gotten really bad, and every other table is pretty full, do you mind if I sit here?" she asked.

Gary noticed a nice looking girl waiting outside the café. She looked absolutely soaked, thank god he rushed here before the storm hit, or he could very well be like her. She kind of looked like a soggy and unhappy cat, waiting to dry after a bath. She looked slightly amused though and that in turn made him smile. It was good to see that there was still people who could smile even though the situation did not warrant it.

When she barged into the café he realized how soaked she actually was. When she walked his way her heavy looking hair made him chuckled slightly. However he stopped when he realized she was seemingly coming to go talk to him, then he remembered, there was a lone seat next to him waiting to be adopted. He wasn't sure on how to react, he felt like the socially awkward kids in high school who struggled to speak to girls. He was sweating, but it didn't really show. He just needed to calm himself, like he always did and everything would turn out fine.

"Hi!"

Her words echoed into his ear and he simply got up and pushed his chair to the right a little bit, so that it would be much easier for her to get in. "Hi! good evening Ma'am. It's raining pretty hard isn't it." He humorously asked with a bright smile and awaited her to sit. She would know best how rainy it was out there. He awaited for her to get into the seat where he would then push it back to its place, so it would not seem he wanted to get farther away from her. "Anyway. It's nice and warm in here. Must be like a warm hug after the soaking and cold you went through?" He gleefully told her and looked into her face. It was a lot easier than he expected. It was enthralling to finally be talking to someone else, no less, a person of the opposite sex.

Giggling softly, Kaoru nodded, gratefully sliding into the chair he pushed over for her. "Thank you," she told him, slightly startled that he was such a gentlemen. She'd almost thought chivalry was dead. Maybe here in Chicago, some men had some decency. She chuckled softly to herself again before shooting the man another smile.

"Anyway. It's nice and warm in here. Must be like a warm hug after the soaking and cold you went through?" he said, and she nodded, calling over a waitress.

"Yeah, it was nice." she said. "A lot better than out there," she nodded towards the window. "Very cold, though I got used to after a few minutes. Feeling the water against your skin constantly for fifteen minutes does that you." she laughed, gesturing to her soaked sweater and mini skirt along with her tights before quickly ordering a warm white chocolate mocha cappuccino.

She liked this man. Drew had warned her that the city could be full of creeps, especially since she was brand new in the city. She was supposed to have started the school year with everyone else, though this time she would live off campus. Sadly she had to hurry back down to Texas because of her mother suddenly entering the hospital. This would be her first time in the city at night.

Though she could understand that there were creeps around, she didn't think this man was. "Oh! I'm sorry, I'm Kaoru." she told him, turning slightly in her seat so she could face him properly. "Kaoru Takamori."

Gary tiled his, head taking interest into what she was saying. "Hm kind of like a really hot shower. You turn up to high and burns for a little while, but the longer you are in it, the less pain is causes it you." He inquired and drifted his eyes onto her appearel, but withdrew his gaze, avoiding to look creepy. He clothes were so wet he could almost see through them. Though a tiny mini-skirt was a rather odd choice on a day like this. But then again, it was sunny a couple of hours ago.

"Oh! I'm sorry, I'm Kaoru."

Gary put his right hand up and shook his head. "No, no, no. I should the one that is sorry. I should have introduced myself when letting you in. Anyway, my name is Gary Kire. But just call me Gary." He said kindly and watched her order her drink. She seemed kind enough, the girls he knew at college were a little more obnoxious and studious kind of like him. Though they were also kind of annoying, as were the guys in a sense.

However her name was quite intriguing, he had never heard before. Perhaps she was foreign, though she didn't look as if she was. "Kaoru, what a lovely name. What nationality is that? I would assume an Asian country." He asked her, in an interested tone as he took another sip from his coffee and looked back to her, listening and awaiting her response.

"Nice to meet you Gary." she said happily. So what if it was storming and Drew was unable to meet her! This was one of the moments in life she lived for! Meeting new people and making friends. Well...That's probably because she only has the one. She laughed embarrassedly in her head at the thought. She really didn't have friends....

"Kaoru, what a lovely name. What nationality is that? I would assume an Asian country."

Flushing, Kaoru couldn't believe how warm her face felt. "A-ah, thank you." she murmured, scratching a random spot on her cheek. Coughing slightly, she continued, answering his question. "Yeah, I guess my parents thought it was pretty name and gave it to me. But I think mom told me that it was Japanese." she explained, thinking back to a conversation she'd had with her mother one day.

"Fragrance, I think she said it meant." she stated, nodding that she agreed with what she was saying. "Yeah, I'm pretty sure. I have no idea what my last name means though." she admitted with a small laugh.

Gary smiled back. "Pleasure to meet you as well." He calmly replied. This girl seemed rather friendly. It made him remember how much he liked to meet new people. Experience new things. He was now considering coming to this place more often. The people here certainly made it worthwhile, so far at least.

He realized he made her blush, and he wasn't sure how he managed too. Perhaps he still had it in him? Though on the topic of names, he never really understood his, though he never took it seriously. It most likely wasn't his original name, just one quickly thought up by his foster parents. "Well it certainly is a nice sounding name. I like it. Your parents have good taste." He remarked and took another sip of his coffee.

"I wish my name had such a, uh, fragrant meaning. My name means bold spear. Personally I always saw my self more as a book, something killer would not what would come to my mind when I fathom myself."
He told her with a jesting smile as he scratched the back of his head.

"Anyway. Is this your first time coming to this café?" He inquired her and took yet another sip from his mug of coffee that was now getting slightly cooler.

Flushing again, Kaoru attempted to hide it by taking a large sip of her hot cappuccino. Which in hindsight was not a very smart thing to do. Hurrying to place her drink down, she covered her mouth with her hand, face reddening, as she forced herself to gulp the heated beverage. Gasping slightly once the liquid had made it's way down her throat, the raven-haired woman stayed a dark shade of red as she coughed, looking away from Gary as he continued, causing her to smile.

Taking a breath, she finally looked back over at Gary, tilting her head slightly at his words. "What do you mean?" she asked, wondering what he meant by that. "I mean, obviously you don't seem like a killer-I mean! Not to say that that couldn't be a possibility," she started to ramble. "Ah! Wait, I mean...Ummm..." she trailed off, as she slid down in her seat. 'THAT was horrible....' she thought dismally, looking down embarrassedly.

"A-ah um," she coughed lightly. "Y-yes, this is my first time here. I go to the nearby college, but this'll be my first year living off campus." she explained. "I'm starting late this year since I had to go down to Texas for a bit longer than expected..."

She was starting to seem quite cute. Not just aesthetically, but her actions were just plain adorable. When she took too large of a sip, he couldn't help but giggle slightly. He decided not say anything to avoid upping the embarrassment for her though. He just continued sipping from his coffee and listened to what she had to say.

"I mean, obviously you don't seem like a killer-I mean! Not to say that that couldn't be a possibility,"

"Uh." He stuttered a little baffled by her words. But he paused a moment and began to chuckle. "Don't worry, murdering people is never on my agenda. Thankfully" He added. He wasn't bothered in the slightest by her comment, it was just a small mess up, no big deal. He returned from a baffled face to a calm face and went back to sipping his coffee, finally making some dents in it.

"Ah. Well I have been living off campus since the very beginning. I have an apartment pretty close to the College, so it isn't a really big deal." He said to her.

"In any case welcome or welcome back to Illinois. So what classes are you talking here?"
He curiously asked her.

"In any case welcome or welcome back to Illinois. So what classes are you taking here?" Gary asked, causing Kaoru to look up startled. So...he didn't think she was weird or crazy? PLUS! Mentally, she slapped herself. Not the time! Coughing slightly, she forced herself to focus.

"Ahh, biology, medical stuff. Not exactly sure. My roommates' been picking up all our stuff."

she told him. "I'm working to become a veterinarian." she said, smiling lightly. "I love animals and want to help keep them healthy." she explained.

Looking up at Gary from her drink, she blinked curiously. "How about you? Classes? Desired career?"

"Ah." He remarked slowly. "I guess in a sense, we have the same mind set. We both want to help living beings. I am studying to become a doctor, currently I am taking biology and medicines before I go off to medical school." He told as he took another, final sip of his coffee.

It seemed she had a rather consistent cough. Or perhaps she was doing so to cover her embarrassment, he knew of plenty of people who would do such a thing. "You are coughing quite a bit, are you okay?" He asked her, in a tone that made him sound slightly worried for her health. It would make sense that she would be sick, she was soaked to the bone.

Kaoru smiled, liking the man sitting next to her more and more. "That's amazing." she told him honestly. "I'm under the assumption that I'll have to do something similar." she said with a small laugh. "My roommate has pretty much been making sure I take the right direction for what I want to do." she grinned.

The raven-haired woman really liked Gary. He seemed so smart and kind and had a small sense of humor. Though she doesn't really know much about what causes people to become friends, she didn't have much experience, it seemed like they were well on their way, and she hoped he felt that way too. It would be nice to have another friend. Even if they were both guys...

"You are coughing quite a bit, are you okay?" he asked in a worried tone, causing her to blink startled.

"Huh?" Kaoru asked after a moment of silent brilliance. "Coughing...? O-oh!" she murmured out, suddenly understanding what Gary meant. Flushing, Kaoru nodded. "Y-yes, I'm fine." she said, waving a hand in front of her red face before taking a small sip of her cooling drink. "S-sorry, I just..uhm....I'm not sick." she told him, feeling a bit like a dolt.

"Well a Veterinarian is quite impressive as well." He responded. She seemed to mention her room mate quite a bit, he or she seemed quite helpful, unlike his own. If only his would do a little micromanagement for him, but his was a lazy, narcoleptic drop out who partied all day and night. However that is not to say he disliked the parties, he enjoyed observing drunk people as if he was watching the discovery channel.

"This room mate of yours sounds nice. I certainly wish mine could be up to the standard. Though he can be a little amusing at times, I'll give him that." He remarked calmly, he wasn't that bothered by Sean. Though he was a pain in the ass sometimes.

"Y-yes, I'm fine."

Her words pleased him so. "Good, I guess I won't have to inject with 3 pounds of cough medicine through a meter long needle. The masochist part of me isn't as happy though." He said seriously and paused, looking into her eyes and began to chuckle. "I only kid. It must be hard to stick a needle into a crying child's flesh. That's the one thing I fear in becoming a doctor, but I must grow past it." He added, to make himself seem completely sane. Perhaps that joke was a little risky.

Kaoru smiled brightly at him, happy that he thought her career choice was nice. Sure Drew supported her and helped her along the way, he was always constantly asking her whether she was sure about going down this path. Though he honestly didn't have any room to talk. Seeing as he could never decide what type of scientist he wanted to be. So...he'd be a hypocrite right?

"I-I'm glad you think so!" Kaoru told him happily.

"This room mate of yours sounds nice. I certainly wish mine could be up to the standard. Though he can be a little amusing at times, I'll give him that."

Laughing, the raven-haired woman nodded, already thinking back to some of the good memories she had of Drew. "Yeah," she agreed. "Drew's a life-saver." she said. "I don't know where'd I'd be if it wasn't for him." she thought aloud. Which was true. She honestly had no idea where she'd be if it wasn't for him. Who knows...Being the girl with one friend was pretty hard, if she hadn't even had that one...? She shook her head, forcing the dark thoughts away.

Giggling, Kaoru nodded in understanding at Gary's words. "I understand that. One of my largest fears is sticking the needle into a whimpering animal." she said. "Whenever I would take an animal to the Vet, I was always so in awe of what they did. Making animals better, but I was always worried about sticking them with a needle." she sighed.

"Well," she announced after a moment, a grin on her face. "I think you'll definitely be able to move past it!"

He responded to her thoughts of her Room mate, who he now knew as Drew, with a smile.

"Well I am glad there is someone special in your life." He gleefully replied, but then she brought up putting down animals.

She was probably right, using anapaestic on an animal would much harder to do then sticking a whining kid with a vaccine that could very well save his life. He thought a moment on how he would reply, but he nodded at her comment.

"I personally never had an animal myself. My father was allergic to cats and my mother was allergic to dogs and I wasn't up to taking care of an animal of any type." He responded, looking slightly disappointed that he could not feel her connection to animals. Though he feared he might get close to his patient and watch them die because he was too incompetent, that was another one of his fears.

"Anyway, you are right. Putting down an animal would be a lot more challenging. I should have thought of that." He added.

He then pulled out a couple of coins, equal to the amount of his drink and called over the waiter.

"Well, it appears I shall be leaving soon. Pleasure meeting you." He said and looked outside the door. It was still raining, if not, harder than before. 'Great.' He thought to himself.

Laughing slightly, Kaoru nodded. "Yeah," she agreed. "He's like an older brother to me," she told him. "As far as I know I'm an only child, so it's refreshing to think of Drew that way." she explained.

"Anyway, you are right. Putting down an animal would be a lot more challenging. I should have thought of that." he replied, leading her to frown slightly.

"Both would be hard either way. Well, I hope one day you do decide to get an animal!" she told him, shoving away all the dreary thoughts. "I know dogs are good for loyalty, so you might like one! Or even a cat, if they like you enough!" she joked. She could understand that he didn't feel the same connection she felt, and hoped one day he'd be able to. Gary did seem like someone who would be a good pet father.

She giggled lightly at the thought, before her phone went off again.

Curious, she gave her companion a sheepish smile, before pulled out the device, reading the text from Drew and responding quickly.

Kaoru
left
Hey, it's getting late. I know the rain hasn't let up much, but start heading home alright?
right
:( Yeah....you're right...I'll be there soon then.

Looking up, Kaoru noticed he called over the waitress, paying for his drink. "Ah! Hang on," she told them, quickly digging into her pocket and pulling out the amount for her drink.

"Well, it appears I shall be leaving soon. Pleasure meeting you." Gary said, standing. Looking back up at him, she saw him staring at the rain outside. She sighed at the sight.

"I have to leave as well." she said, a small frown on her face as she stared at the unending fall of water.

'An only child, much like me...' Gary thought with parallelism. Perhaps, by chance, this girl was much like him. No parents, determination to heal rather than just take, it seemed very likely. Though he had no one to call an older brother, only a friend, but he used that word with the lightness of a feather balancing on a ballerina's toe.

"Well I am very glad you have some that special to you." He remarked with gleeful eyes. "I only wish the best for you two in the future." He hinted subtly and followed it with the quietest of snickers. He almost felt like his grade six self again.

"Both would be hard either way. Well, I hope one day you do decide to get an animal!"

Gary tilted his head at the thought of owning an animal of his very own. He'd probably not be so good at it, it seemed like the creatures had it in for him ever since he was little. Dogs always barking at him, cats always scratching and birds cawing. He also certainly did not like the extra noise. "Er. No that would not be the best of ideas." He replied shakily, but soon followed with a silent chuckle. Lying to please her probably wouldn't be a good idea either, he preferred to keep honest.

"I have to leave as well."

Gary quietly nodded to her comment and slowly arose out of his seat. "Well Kaoru see ya' around, till we meet again. I'm sure it will happen one of these days." He told her optimistically and begun his way outside the door.

"Well Kaoru see ya' around, till we meet again. I'm sure it will happen one of these days." Gary started before heading towards the door.

Smiling, Kaoru nodded at him before following after him. "Maybe we'll see each other around," she called out, stuffing her phone safely into her pocket. She really didn't want it to get wet and, Gods forbid, get damaged. While sure she was well off money wise, she only had so much, and most of her money was being used for school and her apartment with Drew.

Catching sight of Gary walking out the door, she smiled. She really hoped they did bump into each other again. With a small giggle at the thought, she made her way outside, not looking forward to getting sick.

Humming softly to herself, Kaoru started towards her apartment building before blinking, showing her slight confusion. Stopping for a moment, she laughed loudly.

It was Gary.

"Gary!" she called out, jogging to catch up with him.

The rain pelted down as if the skies held no remorse for what it hit. By this time Gary was soaked despite the jacket he wore, he believed it to be fully water-proof but it seemed to only partially do the job, his hair was a completely different story. His bangs hung heavily over his eyes and it was flat like a newly pressed waffle. It was rather disappointing he though he had exceptional luck today, avoiding the first wave of rain and all, but it seemed his day had to have some misfortune.

Finally in the midst of his eye sight he could see his apartment complex. Diminishing from his sight as the rain somehow grew even further in strength. He powered his way through the harsh winds and now thunder sounded... This was one hell of a storm.

He was about fifty meters away from the entrance until a faint voice bounce off the rain drops and hit him in the ears.

"Gary!"

The voice was familiar, as if he had heard it many moments ago. But the rain was making it hard to distinguish, maybe it was an old friend, or maybe it was his mother or something? However as he turned back the figure and hair colour made it obvious who it was, Karou. Upon seeing her come his way, he awaited her in the rain, looking glad to see someone else was going through the same troubles he was. Once she reached him he let out a light chuckle, maybe just enough to be heard over the crashing of the rain.

"Hey Karou, great weather ain't it?" He stifled, the constant fall of water made it a little hard to breath with it all coming into his mouth, and it forced him to brush his soggy hair out of his eyes. "Anyway you live in this area?" He asked.

(Sorry for the delayed post Infinity. Maybe we can dedicated a day during this weekend to get a couple of posts back and forth c:?)

Happy at the sight of the male ahead of her waiting, Kaoru hurried her pace slightly, making sure not to trip and hurt herself. She'd had enough of that before arriving at the café she'd recently left.

"Hey Karou, great weather ain't it?" Gary greeted, shoving some wet hair away from his eyes. She laughed, nodding in response.

"Yeah, fantastic," she agreed, a wry smile stretching across her features.

"Anyway you live in this area?" he asked, causing her to look at the buildings behind him.

"Yup!" she answered, squinting slightly as she held up one hand, trying to cover her eyes so she could see without the water getting into her eyes. "Um, let me see...." she mumbled, trying to read some of the building numbers. "Aha!" she cheered only a moment later, pointing towards a medium sized apartment complex behind them. "Right there, in that building." she grinned.

"How near here do you live?" she asked, momentarily forgetting about the pouring rain around them.

The area flashed as a nearby flash of lightning hit. This made Gary's heart skip a beat and caused him to desire a place inside, away from all this depressing weather but he could wait, the rain wasn't all that bad. When she pointed to the building she lived in, he was gratefully surprised.

"Oh!" He replied in a surprised tone. "I believe that would be another similarity we have as I too, live in that building." He gleefully concurred with a smile on his face. He never really paid attention to who came out of the complex, as far as he was concerned, it was just him and his room mate inside that building. Gary never really took the time to observe the people he shared a roof with and he would be way too shy to openly speak to a girl like Karou, well before this night that is.

He was hoping that the rain would slow done, but it seemed to have no desire to. If he kept outside any longer his bones actually might begin to soak, turning into stringy strands like spaghetti... Or atleast it felt like that was going to happen.

"Anyway, I guess we should start getting inside." He suggested, once again pulling his hair out of his eyes.

Eyes widening momentarily, Kaoru laughed at their luck. "Ha, seriously?" she giggled. "I guess we'll be seeing more of each other after all, ne?" she grinned, a small flush covering her cheeks.

Honestly, the raven-haired woman was very happy at this coincidence. The two of them living near each other would actually give them a chance to get to know each other better. Something Kaoru was hoping for. She liked what she'd seen of Gary Kire so far, and she wanted to see more. Well. If he let her that is.

"Anyway, I guess we should start getting inside." he commented, brushing more hair out of his eyes.

Blinking startled, Kaoru remembered all the rain and laughed. "Yeah," she agreed before boldly grabbing his hand. "Come on!" she grinned and started running again, hurrying towards the building, tugging Gary behind her.

"Ha, seriously?" she giggled. "I guess we'll be seeing more of each other after all, ne?"

Gary smiled brightly, though it might have been hard for her to see through the constant pelting of rain. He was happy that he had such a sweet neighbour that he could possibly spend some of his time with. Someone to possibly fill that void of loneliness that kept beating away at his skull.

When she grasped onto his hands his cheeks heated up and he felt a warm sensation despite all the cold water practically drowning him. Upon being dragged through the wet street he wasn't sure how to feel, it had been a while since someone held his hand. Soon they would both be inside the warm walls of the apartment building, the rain actually began to quiet and now it was just barely spitting. This day was full of coincidences, it was about time an unlucky one occurred.

"Well, I guess it's about time we went to our rooms, which one do you live in?" He asked curiously and began to wring out his hair, the floor was already wet so it did not make a difference.

Pushing open the door to the building, Kaoru laughed. Once safely inside the warm entryway, she let go of Gary's hand, and started to squeeze the water out of her hair, a bright look in her eyes. "That was fun," she laughed, smiling at him. Barely glancing at the puddle of water she was creating, she started to dig in her pocket for her keys that Drew had sent her.

"Well, I guess it's about time we went to our rooms, which one do you live in?" he asked, leading her to send him a small smile.

"Ahh, hang on, the tag is on the keys Drew sent me." she said, finally grabbing the keys from her seemingly endless pockets. Flipping over a key, she spotted the slightly soggy white piece of paper.

Bringing it closer to her face, Kaoru squinted, trying to read the now blurry writing. "Um...I think it says 3B." she told her companion. "I'm guessing 3rd floor, apartment B?" she guessed a loud with a sheepish grin.

"Um...I think it says 3B."

In response Gary pulled out his keys and checked what it said and held them in front of her eyes so that she could read it. On the plastic it read '3E'. "It looks like we are pretty close." He told her with a smile on his face and he put the keys into his pocket.

"Well I think it's about time I hit the hay. I have school tomorrow, maybe we can see eachother? If that is okay with you?" He proposed and opened the door that led to the stairs. He would sleep better tonight, much better than his past nights.

(sorry for the short post. Do you want to do a quick timeskip after your post?)
