Ryousan, the 3rd Continent
f5d461716251956ea48883b48ecbb54ee7c50a88_hq.jpg
In a world different from our own, existed three continents. One of these, was Ryousan, covered in lush foliage and it's incredible knowledge on magic. Such a place would not be out of common in a anime or Japanese Light Novel, and it's share of Japanese things reinforced this thought. However, we aren't focusing on some new hero. Well, we are, but not the ones you'd expect.

A unknown deity from this world has decided to give some people a second chance at life, allowing them to choose anything they'd want beforehand. Those people would end up here, in Ryousan. There was no goal set for them, and they were free to choose their path.

Thus, the first ones appeared in a old farm, covered in overgrowth and cobwebs. The crops on the area seem to be just fine, but the structures themselves are in a state of disrepair. Fortunately, this should allow the first group to arrive undetected, not startling any of the Kingdoms in the region.

((NOTE: if your OC has a different origin once reincarnated, you could simply form a reason for them to arrive at the farm.))

KRON

The first of the bunch to awaken, was a rather peculiar Wyvern. It's green eyes slit open, glowing fluorescently like the rest of the markings on it's body. This was not the world it knew before.

"It.. worked?"

The creature supposedly said. Unbeknownst to it, it was able to use telepathy, hinted by his jaws not moving. It also seemed.. rather curious and a bit excited for this new enviorment.

Zed blinked his eyes open, looking up at the sky. It looked different, strange... too bright. “Huh. Not the circus tent,” he mumbled, rubbing his eyes and pushing himself up. He was standing in the middle of an old farm, surrounded by tall grass and vines that seemed to wave at him, though he wasn’t sure if they actually were. He tilted his head, squinting at a large cobweb across one of the buildings.

"Is this a dream? Wait no.."

He grabs a bit of dirt, letting it crumble in his hands.

"No.. That voice.."

Zed twirled around, arms outstretched, letting the surroundings wrap around him like an old friend. "Ahahaha! New world!"

He took a step toward the old farmhouse, hesitating. “And why am I alive again? Or… was I dead? Hah! I can't even remember.”

Then he began wandering towards th building, half-skipping, half-humming a strange tune. “Ah, a farm, a farm, what secrets you hold! I’m here to stay, so be bold, be bold!”

KRON

"Hm?.." Hearing his words, the Wyvern turns towards Zed, looking awfully confused by his way of talking. "..Weird guy, I guess. Seems I'm not the only one."

Now that he knows he's not alone, the creature slowly begins to approach him, thinking that it should be a good decision to interact with him. Zed could hear the sounds of footsteps behind him, as well as the occasional high-pitched growls of the Wyvern. "Uhmm... Hey?"

Harmoon
Harmoon had already been awake since dawn had struck, leaning against the side of the old farmhouse all the while taking in the scenery. The images from what seemed like were so vivid, and he still couldn't grasp how life had given him another chance. It wasn't necessarily another chance, because he was still this stupid half monarch, half moth creature. What images was Harmoon thinking of exactly?

'Last Night'

The rain thrummed loudly as his feet sloshed in the over flowing water that was flooding this very rooftop. Harmoon had enough of this, all of this- his parents, those scientists, and his body. He had already reached the edge, the midnight sky all a blur from above. The pollution didn't help, and because of that, no reassuring stars comforted him. Buildings of all sizes and all kinds of intricate designs splayed all across from his line of sight. Right below was a stomach-reeling drop, one he planned on doing. Suicide had given him no choice. His life was a mess, he was miserable. The afterlife would be so much easier so long he just jumped...

And he did just that. With his wings tucked inside, he felt the ground give way as he came contact with whatever feeling that came first. He had flied before, but this seemed more peaceful. Especially since he knew he couldn't stop falling.

Present

That dream wasn't helpful at all, because here he still was. It was a whole new place, one Harmoon never seen. It certainly wasn't heaven or hell, but he couldn't accept it being reality. He sighed, his blue hair floating around him from the heavy, but enjoyable wind. A sudden jolly voice made him avert his gaze to see what looked like an idiotic jester making way to the barn. But even that voice couldn't even cover up the tiny but discernable growls coming from inside.

Zed paused mid skip, his ears catching the sound of growls and heavy footsteps behind him. His eyes widened, but rather than fear, excitement sparked on his face. “Oh, oh, oh! What’s this? A friend? A foe? A puzzle to solve, perhaps?!” he muttered to himself, spinning on his heel to face the approaching Wyvern.

When he saw Kron, Zed’s grin only grew wider. “Aha! A talking big creature! Of course you’d be here!” He waved enthusiastically, completely unbothered by Kron’s confusion or growls. “Hey yourself, big guy! Nice claws, love the scales! You ever juggle? No? Well, maybe we’ll get to that later!”

“What’s this?”
Zed spun around with a flourish, pointing dramatically toward the stranger leaning against the farmhouse. “Ohoho, and now we have a third player in this strange little dance!”

HOMURA YUKIMURA

8112026a039f60e2e578f139f5c9950d.jpg

After what if felt like an eternality, the clouds have finally cleared and the sun shone through from the sky. Now that he has reincarnated into this new world and gotten out of his previous, horrid household, Homura wandered around the land in hopes of finding something that would peak his interests. Going through small towns and areas, Homura has developed a fasionation on poisonous plants, even storing some in his backpack. If you'd ask Homura about them, he would happily show them off but he would not tell you why he grew fond of them as he doesn't know either.

Now walking towards to the farm, it was certainly a relief to find a shelter after a long day of walking. "Finally, some shelter," he grinned while pacing up to the farmhouse. As he entered through an isolated wooden gate which was just standing there by itself, Homura's curiousity perked up when he saw the disarray the farm is in. "Holy smokes, what a mess!" he exclaimed as he fix his backpack position with a jump, "Still, I usually find the best poisons in such mess. I'll get through just fine."

As he closed the gates and wandered closer to the farm, Homura noticed a rather odd group gathered around the farm as well. A clown or jester of some kind, a dragon and a person with moth features. Feeling his curiousity increasing, Homura desided to greet the group.

"Hey, nice meeting new faces around here," he started off, waving at the group as he walked up to them, "You lot seem to get along well."

Harmoon
Harmoon met gazes with the oddly speaking jester/joker, about to speak when another figure popped up. He sighed, wings fluttering in slight annoyance, but he shoved such negativity away. Life gave him another chance, he might as well take a positive approach this time. He lifted his hand in a small gesture of greeting, white silk masking his skin. Formality was clear in his ways, though Harmoon was sure the others would brush it off with such improperness. But he did hope no further weird creatures accompanied them.

"It seems we all are found in the same situations, ne? Though I hope we all do wonder why exactly we are here, unless it is only me who is curious."

Harmoon slid his hand back into his pocket, a small tilt of his head adding to the awkward atmosphere. It was clear everyone seemed a bit cautious- at least in Harmoon's eyes. The red jester looked as if he had no fears. The newcomer had a nice shade of fuchsia rose for hair, yet they did have a slightly appealing shade of glasses. Harmoon gave a curt nod, secretly opposing to the idea of getting along with the others when they just met- though the man who spoke probably was bein sarcastic.

Harmoon shifted, standing finally in front of the barn/shed instead of besides it and got a good look of what looked like a sci-fi cartoon monster. It had a coat of black with somewhat neon green stripes. And he thought he was weird. How odd for the rest to be far worse.

Zed’s eyes darted between the growing group with mounting excitement. First the lizard, then the semi moth , who had given a quiet, formal greet. Now, a new figure appeared, red-haired, carrying a backpack full of... something. Zed’s grin widened as the newcomer greeted them with a casual wave.

He twirled around to face the newcomer (Homura), his eyes beaming with curiosity. “Well, well! The farm’s filling up fast today, isn’t it?” he called out, his voice a little too enthusiastic for the state of the run down farmhouse. “Nice to meet you too! I’m Zed, and I’ve got no idea where we are or why we’re here, but isn’t that what makes this... great.”

Zed took a step forward, looking between the red-haired figure and the winged half elf, half tiefling who had just spoken. His chaotic energ y slowed just enough to show that he was actually listening. “Curious, you say? I’m with you there,” he said to Harmoon with a quick nod, his tone briefly more thoughtful. “Why us? Why here? Feels like the start of a twisted game, doesn’t it?”

The jester's response- who's name was Zed - made Harmoon sigh in relief. They all were in the same boat at least, so it made sense for them all to be here. Now he just had to learn why exactly they were here, and where. The first question was possibly the most hardest of them all, because all the assumptions one could make can never be confirmed. He shook his thoughts away and dipped his head, ready to introduce himself too since someone already did. At least it was one way of avoiding awkwardness.

"Greetings...Zed? And those who seem to be quiet of their own nature. I go by Harmoon if you all do please."

Harmoon glanced once more at the black and green looking reptile, questioning himself if it had spoken with Zed when they had just appeared at the very beginning. How could creatures like that speak? Wait...he was a weird creature too, he shouldn't insult himself. Oh how the odds came by, everyone was similar in some ways! Just...great...

"But I do hope that we won't stand here all of what the sun gives until night shines, because I really wish to learn more about this...area we've all come across?"

He arched a brow at everyone.

KRON

“Uhhh..” Kron stared in confusion at Zed’s eccentricity before he approached another person the old barn. As the Wyvern was left dumbfounded, he soon came back to his senses, noticing Harmoon looking at him. Albeit a bit nervous, the creature slowly moved towards the group, it’s glowing patterns less vibrant with the sunlight.

As the boy proceeded to introduce himself, Kron felt he should too. “In that case.. please call me Kron. I was surprised I wasn’t the only one.” His mouth remained unmoving, which meant he may be using some sort of telepathy.

He gave a little bow, arms sweeping out wide in an exaggerated, theatrical gesture.
“Harmoon, Kron nice to meet you both officially!” Zed exclaimed, his voice filled with warmth, though his movements never quite lost their chaotic edge.

He spun around, taking a few steps in a circle, as if trying to shake off the last of his pent-up energy. “You’re right, Harmoon, we shouldn’t stand around until the stars come out."
Zed spun toward the red haired newcomer with a dramatic flourish, fingers pointing like he’d just discovered a hidden treasure. “I am hoping that you join us aswell. You with the fiery hair!"

He clapped his hands together suddenly, the sound sharp in the quiet air. “So, what’s the plan, folks? Shall we poke around and see if this farm’s hiding anything useful?"

KRON

”Before that, we should see if we can like, access a system of sorts. If my memory serves correct, anyone who’s reincarnated are usually given one of those.”

Kron began slowly waking in circles, pondering how they can use it. He isn’t sure if this would play out exactly like the various animes he’s seen, or this world operates differently.

Zed raised an eyebrow, his grin flickering with curiosity as Kron mentioned a “system.” He gave a little chuckle, scratching the back of his head. “A system, huh? Like in those games?” He paused, looking around the group as if to gauge their reactions. “I’ve never been much into those, but I get the gist. Something like... menus, stats, powers? That kind of thing?”

He squinted at the air in front of him, his hands moving in vague, exaggerated motions like he was trying to pull up an invisible screen. “So, what, we just... ask for it? Like, ‘Hey, system, show me what you got!’ or something?”

Harmoon
Harmoon gave a half-hearted, sarcastic laugh when Zed made an attempt to being humorous. He could basically put labels on everyone, and Zed would possibly be the most annoying. Though, Harmoon did wonder how the others thought about him. First impressions really would get them all somewhere. And the way Kron mentioned having a system made him shiver. It made sense, but the way it was described made everything feel weird. That would also mean they weren't all the way reincarnated and instead they were forced to play some game that they didn't even know if anyone was watching. Everything was getting too weird.

"Menus?"

Harmoon asked when Zed started to joke around.

"I certainly do not see any clickable things in my view of sight."

He muttered, hoping for no ne to hear. His last/previous comment was supposed to be once again sarcastic, but there were chances someone had over heard. Oh well, it didn't really mean anything to him whether the hear what he says or not. Knowing if they had good hearing though could be a way of learning more about them.

HOMURA YUKIMURA

8112026a039f60e2e578f139f5c9950d.jpg

"Nice to see someone so enthusiastic! The name's Homura Yukimura," he grinned at the Zed's greeting while reciprocating his wave. It was quite entertaining to have someone like Zed around in Homura's opinion. Looking at the half moth who introduced himself as Harmoon put of curiousity, Homura decided to keep quiet to silently gather information about those who was gathered here.

Twisted game, hm? System too? Homura wondered, stroking his chin while listening into their conversation. At first, Homura thought that they were all groupmates from one of the local adventurers guilds but he'd doubt that such an odd selection would be travelling together.

However, Homura's suspicion went up when Kros and Zed mentioned something aligned to reincarnation. Where these people riencarnated from another world? His eyebrows scrunched up as he thought about it. Homura could barely remember when he was reincarnated into this world years ago and has gotten used to the basics of how world worked.

As he continued to listen in, Homura couldn't resist himself at sneakering at Harmoon's and Zed's banter. "Hehehe...you two seem to get along well," he noted as he watched the two.

KRON

"Pretty much.." Kron replied to Zed. He also heard Harmoon doubt the whole system thing as well. To see if he's right or not, he decided to try the first possible method he could think of. The Wyvern decided to just close his eyes, and think very hard. Perhaps it works with the mind-

..It did. Opening his eyes again, Kron could see a menu of his statistics, with him currently at level 10. "Oh, so we just need to imagine it into existence."

FB_IMG_1715478618193.jpg
He could hear it so faintly, voices of someone nearby, and another then more. Echoing into the treeline, from one branch to another and meeting his ears he began to stir. After so much time his senses began to resurface from a dark place where he had left his body behind. Slowly, Zō began to wake from a dreamless sleep, the place that once held joy.

His eyes, or the right eye rather, slowly crept open and let in the smallest ray of light from his wall of earth covered in moss. Such time has passed that even his secured hiding place began to decay, as the soil itself had it replaced. Yet still, a piece broke away letting in the golden sun.

He moseyed his hand to the floor where he left his two blades, recalling them to his side. Raising his shoulders as his posture straightened, so too did the ground around him stir. Small particles of dirt fell around him as it opened up for him to stand and make his way out of the tomb he made for himself so long ago. His eye on the clearing where the sun shined on it well, while only small cracks in the treeline let in the sun where he was standing.

He was without words, perhaps forgetting them all together. He was wary of others and how they might treat him, but with the highest hope he could muster, Zō approach the farm a distance away from him. He overheard the chatter that revealed them to be reincarnated here, just like him. He wouldn't assume that to be the case for all of those here, but it could mean they would be more understanding than those he encountered in the past.

The tall grass crunched under his feet before stopping an equal distance away from the others around this forgotten farm. His body was laxed with shoulders that drooped but did not hunch forward. He did not know what to say, so instead waited to be addressed.

ALICE
Alice blinked awake in a world she didn’t recognize, her small paws clutched against soft earth, and her heart raced as she took in her new form. She was no longer herself..whatever that meant, but a squirrel, her fur sleek and orange, her tail twitching with anxiety . Confusion swept over her; she had no memories of how she got here, or even who she had been before. The strange woods around her hummed with life, but none of it felt like home. Her instincts told her to run, to climb, but something deeper urged her to move forward. As she scurried through the ground, she stumbled upon a clearing and froze. Before her stood a humble farm, its fields filled with lush organic life..which was rather pretty

after hesitating, Alice approached the farm, drawn fiddling with her fingers. She paused when she seen a group of people and ..a dragon? having a conversation. They seemed at ease as if they had always belonged here. But Alice couldn’t shake the feeling that something was missing, that she was an outsider in this peaceful world. She inhaled a deep breath and relaxed herself before walking over towards the group “It's ok Alice, maybe this is a dream.. “That's what she hoped, but soon she would learn the harsh truth. "Never had a dream like this one." Though she comforted her self, Alice’s mind raced with questions, who was she before this life? Why couldn’t she remember anything? And most importantly, was this really a dream?

IMG_0609.png
Overhead above the woods could be heard a roar so loud enough to shake the trees, the familiar sound of thunder as lightning strikes the land with a rage. There is no rain as it strikes, and as it does, it stalls and freezes, before swirling around in a horizontal circle; emitting no noise. The trees behind it seem to be torn up into wood chips but they aren’t coming out the other side.

That is until a bunch of wood chips, pieces of metal, and the figure of a man gets shot out of it. He lands face first on the ground, and he seems to be unconscious. A few minutes pass and his eyes jolt open. Strangely enough he seems calm. He rolls on his back, and the thickest part of his left leg disappears briefly as he checks it for something. A strange egg that is still there and in tact,
“Thank Gaia”, his leg reforms and he just lays there for a second taking in his surroundings. There is a building in front of him and a few people that look vastly different to one another.

He smiles as if they remind him of something and waves, “Hi, don’t mind me, just-“ he gets up and turns to see the lighting portal shrink into nothing, “well that’s not good” he looks back to them, scratching the back of his head his eyes closed with a smile and his eyebrows turned, “heh…heh.. guess I’m stuck here.”, he steps toward where the lighting portal was and swipes his hand through where its center was, “just making sure… and yep… it didn’t open back up”

Christopher Darling seriously needed to remember to turn off his light before he went to sleep.
He rolled over, mumbling something as he slept, but instead of his comfortable pillow- or, as comfortable a lab pillow could get- he was met by the squishy dirt saying hello by smearing itself over his pale skin. His eyes flashed open, honey colored eyes finally meeting the sunlight, immediately making him squint. "Dirt." He said in disbelief. "It's dirt." He repeated, and smiled, laughing to himself with what could only be described as pure joy. He stands, and the white clothes he's wearing flow around him- a simple white shirt and white billow-y pants.
"Wow." He breathed out, brown eyes squinting as he stared directly at the sun. "It's so bright!" He said with childish glee, and spun in circles, finally noticing the different people around him... oh, and the random humanoid squirrel.

"Hello!" He called out- they were some distance away from him so he had to shout to be heard- "I'm Christopher Darling!" He introduced, and smiled his most friendly smile. This was what he was made for- cosmetic purposes- every freckle placed precisely, every strand of hair genetically altered for the ideal silky smoothness, and seductive honey eyes made to draw people in and keep them.

He was made to be trusted, to lower people's guard- but damn it all if he wasn't going to be smart as well. The nights he stayed up studying, teaching himself everything under the sun... those wouldn't go to shit because he had to start all over with new knowledge.

"Anyone know where we are?"

Zed's head tilted sharply as Kron announced his discovery, his eyes widening with genuine amazement. "You imagined it into existence?!" he exclaimed, spinning on his heel to face the Wyvern, half-impressed and half-baffled. "That’s wild! I thought I had an overactive imagination, but you’ve got menus popping out of thin air?"

Zed waved his hands dramatically in the air, squinting as if willing something to appear. “Alright, let's see... stats, stats... come on, brain, give me something!” He peeked through one eye, disappointed when nothing showed up for him. “Huh, maybe my head's too full of circus tricks and bad jokes to work like that.”

Just then, he caught sight of a figure approaching quietly through the tall grass, a man, calm yet worn, with blades at his side. The newcomer didn’t speak, and Zed’s eyes sparkled with intrigue. “Ooooh, we’ve got ourselves a silent type!” he whispered, theatrically leaning toward Kron and Harmoon. “Looks like someone straight out of a spooky campfire story.”

Zed’s attention snapped toward a small, orange blur approaching, the squirrel. His grin widened even further as he crouched low to the ground, his voice soft but excited. “A talking squirrel! This place just keeps getting better and better.” He waved at Alice, speaking as if she were an old friend. “Don’t be shy! We’ve got dragons, moth-people, and... whatever Kron is,” he joked, glancing back at the Wyvern. “You’ll fit right in.”

Zed heard the sound of thunder crashing overhead. His eyes darted up just in time to see a swirling lightning portal tear through the sky. Pieces of wood and metal flew out, along with a figure who tumbled face-first into the dirt. Zed’s jaw dropped, and for a moment, even he seemed stunned.

Harmoon
He gave an iconic eye roll to Zed, but indeed did start to focus and imagine this whatnot-of-a-menu, but even then did nothing appear. It seems Kron was the only one so far able to see these 'game controls'. Harmoon certainly did not like the idea of being in some sort of a game, but he guessed winning this thing was the only way out-unless this wasn't a game at all and was just some fantasy-reality they all were forced to live.

The mention of newcomers made him let out an audible groan, his normal, mature, and calm personality clearly off the bat ever since he found out he didn't die. A squirrel...some human mutation with scales...that made five of them all together. He hoped at the very least they were not at all childish like Zed or unable to speak like Kron. Well- he spoke, but not necessarily normally. Telepathy?

To top of it off, there was four males and one girl-not that gender really mattered- but were boys really that suicidal? Unless most of them died on accident unlike Harmoon. It was likely that was the case, only he'd ever been crazy to jump off a building and the others hadn't mentioned aything from their past quite yet. But Harmoon didn't expect them to, even more, want them to. Personal business was personal business, and it should stay that way no matter how much one is curious.

He unconsciously started to move his gaze to the upper part of the shed-looking barn. It only took him a few seconds for him to fly up and settle on the rooftop, still in voice range to Zed and Kron, but not too close that Zed was laughing loudly in his ear.

KRON

The stats menu immediately disappeared as Kron barely avoided whatever crashed, flapping his wings in a panic. “HOLY MOTHER OF-“ The Wyvern spat as he was fortunate enough to not be pummeled into possible oblivion. As the new people revealed themselves, or were immediately approached by Zed, Kron just remained silent for a bit.

With Harmoon flying up towards the upper part of the shed, the Wyvern decided to act as a temporary leader for the bunch, gaining everyone’s attention with a monstrous roar. “..Well, that worked. Anyways, I have a proposition for everyone. Since we are in an unfamiliar world, we should form a group. I’m okay if anyone wants to live solo, but I believe staying together might also give us an advantage.”

Zo stood there for a time, head angled down to avoid eye contact for now. He was unsure of this group that had formed in the ruins of this once humble farm. Though what he could reasonably guess is that they were all strange, like him in a way. Not quite as flamboyant as the Jester or astounding as the wyvern, but certainly not the common folk of this world. Perhaps they would not think lowly of him as they had. It was his fear, hence his choice to stay mute.

Head held down still, his one open eye flicked up as others arrived even after him. Zo found it strange that this was becoming a hub of newcomers, but the notion that these were people who came here, perhaps in the same fashion as he had some time ago, was becoming much more plausible. The squirrel mumbling to itself was most outlandish. Couldn't say he had come across that in this fantasy world. And then came something exciting, but not in a good way by any means. The sky seemed to crack open dangerously close to the party as all kinds of debris flew towards them.

Zo remained calm, unflinching as a large sharp chunk stabbed into the ground not far from him. That did no concern him, it was the figure who arrived with it. He was wary of him, but did not act. Placing a hand to rest on the end of his hilt, the man raised up his head to address the strangers.

"My name is Zō. Pardon my silence." He spoke clearly but with a shroud of darkness in his tone. It was calm and deep but perhaps mysterious. He glanced around and counted those gathered so far. With his hand raised he then offered some insight after the beast.
"I can be of assistance. This world is new to me as well, but I have been here for some time."
