My Interest Check
Should you want to play in this original world inspired from dnd and other fiction. You would be making a unaffiliated adventurer new to the city/kingdom/lands of Stelmaine.

The Rp starts in the Guild of Heroes and Adventurers, your character unable to take on paying work due to not being apart of a group. When a voice catches your attention. "Screw these dumb rules...I'll be back with a party..."
A fierce looking hobbit is soon seen and heard about the tavern attempting to recruit anyone who looks suitable, capable or at the very least alone. Your character is approached and for whatever reason they agree to join. Once four or more are assembled, the group follows the Hobbit who kicks a chair towards the reception desk and hops onto the counter to take on whatever quests would be given...
When asked what the name of this party is the Hobbit says the titular phrase, "just call us Whatever and give us the job"

Thus begun the daring tales of Whatever, a party made up of strangers due to the kingdom of Stelmaine having a bias towards freelance adventurer/mercenary types.
Guild quests can only be taken by a party of four or larger you see. No trio, duo or solos allowed.
The Whatever party soon becomes heroes in the city of Stelmaine, perhaps across the world they will become known as legendary?
=========================
This is a world of magic and monsters, races of all sorts you can play as ranging from typical humans elves and dwarfs aswell as beastkin like minotaurs lizardpeople wolfmen etc.
You can even play as a goblin or monster so long as it can communicate and makes sense they start in a human city (disguised in some way most likely)

Point is your character/ideas are most likely allowed or can be easily adapted to fit the lore/story as needed.
Examples off the top of my head...
"I wanna be space marine"
One can acquire enough magic armoury to be a 8ft metal death tank in the shape of a person.
"Can i be a Necromancer?"
Yea but it's considered evil, hard to paint a situation positively if the protagonist doing good accomplished their deeds with undead minions created by trapping souls into dead bodies.
"do races have unique traits and abilities?"
you bet they do, easiest examples to point at is elves and beastkin.
elves have the ability to use some magic inherently.
Beastkin would vary physically, a Owlman can fly and twist his neck 180 but would be frail. Minotaur is physically stronger than others. A lizardman might have a chameleon ability etc etc.
Ask and I shall provide, home-brew your own idea and I shall accept or suggest edits accordingly.
To touch on magic somewhat...
Unless one is born with a inherent ability for magic, performing a spell often requires two or three components.

Vocal, somatic and material components.
A magic phrase/word,
physical gestures,
Magic items/ingredients,
Take "fireball" for example...

A elf mage can say "explode in flames" in the Wonari language alongside the physical act of thrusting a staff to cast a ball of explosive fire.
Same way a hobbit thief can yell "fireball" whilst throwing some Sulfur mixed with batshit to result in a fiery explosive.

Both can cast similar magic but the elf is considered a wizard and can use that spell until they get tired. The thief can only use said spell so long as they have enough sulfur and shit to throw... most successful thieves don't travel around with pockets and satchels full of guanos.

The other type of magic is done via instinct and it comes from worship and devotion to a God. There is many gods of various kinds and should one be pious enough their chosen God might bestow upon them magic powers. These "Higher favours" or "God magic" as its sometimes called. Range from healing, holy light, necromancy, generally anything related to the particular worshipped God. If your God is all about the sun and fire, a cleric or champion of said God might have a fire ability alongside healing.
Higher favours are earned and given (sometimes freely) but can just as easily be taken away should your God feel it necessary.

Hoping for three or six people able to post two paragraphs or more once a week. More if the players have time.

Hasn't started yet so there's still room.

The bare minimum amount of players/characters needed to start is 4
The cut off (including me) would be 7

Hey there! I might be interested in shooting my shot. Something dnd related could be cool.

So what you looking for? Or what you wanting to see? Needing a wizard? A tank? A healer?

Specifically, I would love a large beastkin race to act as a partner to my hobbit character. "A big little duo"

But I encourage everyone to make what they want.

If you wanna make a tank capable of healing thanks to religious beliefs go for it.
If you wanna make a Artificer who specifically makes weapons and items to be a up front fighter we can make it happen.
If you wanna be a ninja minotaur im sure we can find balance and fun in playing it

Though a ninja minotaur would probably be hiding in plain sight and any victims of their thieving probably noticed them but were smart enough or scared stiff thinking

"if I ignore the 9ft horned beast man of muscle maybe they will leave me unhurt..."

Funnily enough. I do have a big muscular tabaxi ninja monk dude that could fit that bill. Big. Intimidating. Definitely would employ such a tactic.

I haven't used him in a while.

Also got a bear barbarian somewhere i think. And dragonborn tank. Not as big. But still tough. Drowned a blacksmith in his own quenching oil once for selling him a faulty shield.

Oh yeah. And a human. Not as big as any. But he makes a very fine complimentary partner, specializes in witty banter.

Up to you, once a sheet is up ill read it and if need be I'll suggest some edits or ask for a change
Alright, just thinking out loud as I'm deciding what to make. Talking helps me get my thoughts in order.

I'll try to out something up once I narrow it down.

May or may not be interest, is there an OOC?
