I don't know what you did, but I know 99% of you don't deserve to starve, or get eaten alive.
That was the last thing that the last guard in this place said to you. It was right before he unlocked your cell, refusing to meet your shocked eyes. Rubert was a good guy, he never harassed you, never spoke to you like you were less then human. Kind of crappy that made him stick out so far above the others here.
You'd all been kept in the dark for a while, the TV unplugged and the staff under strict order to tell you nothing. I guess they wanted to prevent a panic. Obviously rumors got through. There was always someone who could weasel information out of security, be it with bribes or threats, though it took a while for them to be believed. 'The dead walked the earth', that was about the only consistent thing you heard.
They were unkillable, only headshots killed them, only fire killed them they spread through bite it spread through the air they could fly they could think who the hell knows? Who the hell could decide what to believe from third hand information, mostly gleamed through some slimy bastard who wanted five cigarettes to share it?
Still, you knew when the first cases started in this city. The guards told you that much, if not with words when they stopped coming in. At first it was a few people blowing off work out of fear, then more and more just didn't show up. For a while a skeleton crew tried to keep you fed at the very least, then even that stopped. Then two days later Rubert came through, lacking the uniform you'd never seen him without, but thankfully carrying the prison's master key.
He didn't answer questions, he had a look in his eyes like a shell shocked infantryman. He just made his rounds around the facility unlocking cells, you had to ask why more then once just to get that one sentence from him.
This is going to be a somewhat dark, largely character driven game. There are going to be some significant differences between this and a standard zombie setting, but I don't want to spoil anything as I think discovery will be a fun part of the game. Just know that I'm probably pushing the 'realistic' tag.
I'm looking for 2, maybe 4 players if interest is high, the premise is that your cellmates on good terms. We're also gonna say this is an experimental unisex prison, so don't worry about gender. I personally don't think a mechanics system is necessary for the game, but I could be persuaded to use apocalypse world or something simple. I do plan for there to be a strong emphasis on rebuilding, whether you start or join a settlement, and I might use a hard stats system for communities. If you'd like to play just post with a little bit about your character and what role you see them playing. I'll most likely start as soon as I have two that I like, but I'll give it at least a couple days to see what interest there is.
