I guess it's just me, that have a thing for sounds. That clanketiclank that old trains make with the howling of those great engines, thundering across silent planes with strange beasts watching hatefully from the shadows. It just sends chills down my spine

Just had a thought.  The Autotonians are the ones most likely to bring the idea of trains to Creation.  They are used to using rail lines inside the Great Maker, some of the lines that link cities reach speeds of several hundred miles an hour.  Now that they are here, they need to be able to men and material to and from the Well of Souls.  I can see them turning to a familiar technology and set up lines for a high speed tram.

The Jadeborn already have rail.  The Autochtonians use pneumanic tubes provided by Autochton himself, they do not know how to create them.  While steam power is not unknown to them, the technology for making moving steam vehicles and steel rails would be and would take a few years to develop.
