Hey guys, I've been reading Jurrasic Park for English class and my love of dinosaurs has been resurfacing over the last few weeks so I wanted to pitch an idea if anyone is interested!

70 years ago science reached the pinical of bio-engineering, and those with the right equipment (and funding) are now able to establish private projects without the knowledge (or permission) of the government. Provided nothing go wrong, and considering many of these projects have resulted in huge advancements for mankind, many are happy to allow this behaviour to proceed.

EVO: a prime example of one these 'back-water' groups, and newest prodigy of the bio-engineering programs recently revealed its advancements to the public. It is most notable for being the first facility to reconstruct the DNA of extinct species, and reproduce them through modern cloning technologies. Creatures such as Sabre-tooth cats and woolly mammoths have both been artificially 'birthed' successfully, as have several others of that era . All creations of project 'Melt Down' are now displayed during the tour at the main EVO island facility.

Their next goal is far more ambitious: EVO plans to go further back in time, they plan to go back to the age of the dinosaurs. The project has already been in progress for several decades, longer in fact than its Melt Down counterpart. This 'new' project has yet to be named, but testing is already occurring on a regular basis. Despite this and the numerous safety proceeders set in place to keep anything from getting out of hand, something is always bound to go wrong. But In this case things took an unexpected leap along the evolutionary line.

During the process of filling the in the missing pieces of dinosaur DNA it was exposed to a small sample of human DNA. The resulting creation, albeit short lived was an exceptional member of its species with a larger brain and increased intellectual abilities. Curious, EVO decided to pursue cross species genetics and soon dedicated two thirds of their investors funds towards the altering the evolution of their new dino's. They have not been revealed to the public (Yet!) but are scheduled to do so within three weeks, however a mole within the company has spread the word to their secondary employers, and as you can imagine their just a little too eager to get some of their own.

* So yes, these dinosaurs will be (can be) just as intelligent as human beings, they (may) have the ability to feel emotion and many (some) can be taught to read. Because of this, yes you may have a dinosaur character, and because EVO enjoys playing around with bio-engineering they may or may not have feathers, as well as any other number of unique traits. (Please confirm any alterations via PM) they interact with humans on a regular basis. They are (at the moment) content at living in EVO lab and man made habitats, but all that is endangered when the rival cabal decides they want in (Whether or not the dino's feel like cooperating).*

*Yay, you made it to the bottom of the page! (Thank you, thank you!)

I love the Jurassic Park book. Both movie and book are special in their own ways. I'd love to join

((Oh my god this week is Filled with similar roleplays!))

Welcome and Thank you for your interest! I agree, both are unique, although I prefer the book as it contained so much more detail.

((Yes, I am aware. It was actually the final push I needed to get this one going ^^.))

That and I'm watching Jurassic Park 2 :D

It's pretty good so far, I'm enjoying it more than I did the third (but I haven't watched that one in years) I'm glad to see Malcolm's back. He was my favourite character in the book, and I don't think he had much time in the first movie.

Have you heard about the fourth?

If you mean Jurrasic world then yes. I'm very exited

This sounds so cool. I love Jurassic Park with a pation. I'd love to join. A few questions though: first, how do the dinos communicate with humans? Second, are they all similar to Raptors or are there other breads? Third, what kind of detail are you looking for In a post. And finally Dinosaurs are freaking awesome!!!

If I can be a feathered dilophosaurus, I am totally game for this RP. -proceeds to make hissing noises and flare up angrily- -giggle-

@JW Suzusihi I'm glad your interested, I love answering questions! I've also been thinking over some of the smaller details overnight:

#1:The dinosaurs have been equipped with special collars that vocalize their thoughts, emit a tracking beacon, and monitor the dino's health status. They cannot be removed without surgical tools due to internal wiring, but settings can be tampered with. The collars are charged with solar energy and have a battery life of 6 -12 hours (depending on dino and collar size). Currently researchers are attempting to design an alternative method.

#2: No, all breeds are welcome. However for resource management some of the larger additions have been reduced in size. There are still a few giants roaming around, but they tend to be older than their altered (smaller) counterparts.

*Doubles are fine.*

#3: A fair amount. I do expect everyone to use basic grammar and spelling. I don't expect anyone to write a novel, but I want the average post to contain more than one paragraph. Most of all I'm looking for description, something to help build up a world from a dinosaur's point of view.

#4: Love the enthusiasm!

Of course!

((Ever since Jurassic Park the diliphosaurus has been on my top dinosaurs list.))
I want a Micropachycephalosaurus. They are adorable no matter how you look at it. Plus there's so little known about them.
All dinos are welcome ^^.
I may have a human and a dinosaur.

Yes, I'll be making the thread tonight along with all the available roles and factions/whatnot. There is no limit to characters, provided you use them actively ^^.

When i imagine a feathered diliphosaurus I imagine a giant puffed up colorful ball of feathers. Its amusing and cute at the same time.

P's. Your idea for some reason makes me think of avatar with dinosaurs.

Sure, why not. I'm a huge fan of snakes, and Titanaboa existed in the same period as the dinosaurs :D
