Bertie let out a roar of pain before it bit Watson in the cephalothorax using Ice Fang, aiming to get Watson off of him. He can feel his own streangth fading fast though from that well placed poison sting.
At this point, Chance made his move and attacked Ryuko while her guard was down. However, Ryuko stepped back and flipped into the air, before ascending to a height out of reach by melee attacks and glaring at Chance.
"Big mistake!" she spoke, in a enraged voice. She was however, getting quite excited, as she drew both of her swords, ready to fight. She looked to her Charizard, who was on standby, and he was growling.
"Char, use Dragon Claw!"
She ordered as she flew down towards Chase, her swords glowing with dark blue energy. At the same time, Charizard flew at Chance, as dark blue energy claws overlapped his arms and in a position to strike.​

"You okay girl?" asked Jackie, still cradling Cinccino in his bruised arms. She stirred slightly and gazed up at him giving him a shaky nod. The hurt Hyde's cloud like coat had done it's job and protected the two of them, the Dark type coming off with a few bruises though the Scarf Pokémon looked the worse for wear after the Bulldoze. Rolling off the trees, Jackie gently placed his Cinccino beside the long logs.

"Better sit this turn out mate" he said softly as he rooted through his pocket "Here. Have a Soda Pop while I get back to it"

He twisted the cap off the bottle, a sharp twinge flaring up from his shoulder as he did so, before handing it to the nicked Normal type who weakly accepted. Jackie hopped over the logs and looked for Shiftry, the roaring Rhyhorn still voicing his dismay from the Rock Blast. Well time to add to it

Locking eyes with his Shiftry who was safe among the grass, Jackie shouted "Shiftry! Torment!"

Using it's mental powers, the Dual Type forced the Spiked Pokémon to focus on the results of his Bulldoze, the nagging pain in his eyes, making the Rhyhorn think twice about doing such a manoeuvre again. All the while Jackie had been approaching the mutant monster ready to even the score. Standing face to face with the tormented titan, the hasty Hyde's legs suddenly gave way and he crumpled to his knees before him. He was now an easy target for the hurt and enraged Rock Type, the Rhyhorn's move taking the wind out of the downed Dark Type....

Or so it seemed.

Already Jackie prepared himself as he was now in the perfect place to Sucker Punch the rough skinned rhino. With either the soft underbelly or the bloated battered face to hit, the heinous Hyde couldn't help but smile at the possibilities.

Lucas shook his head. "Haven't been here for a good sixteen years or so." He said. "It's nice to meet you, though." Once the shopkeeper asked him if he needed anything else, he thought for a moment. "Yeah... Probably should get some potions, for the road. I think six supers should be enough." Opening his wallet, he pulled out the cash and slid it over the counter to the shopkeep to pay for all the goods. Having done this countless times already, he knew by heart the amount of money needed for the requested goodies.

Wattson writhed and squirmed under the jaws of the polar bear Pokémon which had him in it’s maws now. He was proud of himself for landing his own attack, but the ice gang chilled him to his bones and hurt quite a bit. He scuttled away from Bertie once the two hit the ground, and up a still intact pillar a ways.

Meanwhile Chance was being advanced upon by two opponents at once. He smirked at this. The Charizard was closest, it’s trainer having dodged away from the two of them after Chance had failed to strike her. The dragon attacked him with Dragon Claw, and he met both it’s claws by activating plasma fists. A single punch to meet both swipes cancelled them out, and he dissipated his move. Next Ryumaru was on him in an instant, if not for his already active speed buff caused by his ability, he would not have been able to react. Thankfully, they were evenly matched, her ninja training versus his electrically charged enhancements.

“FUSION BOLT” Said Chance, and Wattson reacted from the pillar behind him. He shot an electro ball from his mouth, which leapt onto Chance’s scabbard in an instant. He swung it to meet both the challenger’s knives at once, the two moves clashing and dissipating. He put pressure on so that their ‘blades’ stayed connected, and smiled at her. “Come now, surely you can get more creative than that.”

Assault, mental and physical had enraged the Rhyhorn. His feelings were hurt, he was hungry, and there were bullies attacking his den! He let out every one of these primal frustrations out on the surrounding area, not necessarily in any certain spot, but with his move Stomping Tantrum. Large shock waves shook and disturbed the earth, but he missed Jackie and his Pokémon entirely and utterly. His wild behavior and confused state made it even worse when he felt a Dark-Powered uppercut catch him on the chin, sending him flopping onto his back. It was also a critical hit, doing massive damage to his health. He flailed, unable to get up and exposed to a follow up attack.

“Well, sorry to disappoint you young man, but we only carry locally grown medicinal herbs here. A young lady just came through and bought half my stock not too long ago, as well, but I do have a few things here, and the cash you gave me covers it.” He took the money from the table minus a few bills and placed on it two revival herbs and three medicinal powders. “That’s all I have leftover, unfortunately. You have yourself a fine day now, son.”

Camille blushed right along with Cherry when Ryuko complimented the ice type and inquired. She silently turned back towards the glass to view the fight. She noticed Doragon, down for the count some ways away from Chance who was just catching his breath. Chirashi and Kaminari were still in combat at the top of the stadium, but she charged straight down the stairs and onto the field.

"Chance Bridgerton! What is wrong with you you hotheaded simpleton!" She called after him. He flinched at her words just as if someone were striking him with a powerful move. He turned around with a guilty smile to greet his class president, and called after his pokemon.

"Kaminari!" He called strongly. "That's enough now!" Kaminari stopped it's sweet kiss, and limply let itself fall to the ground. Whether Chirashi pursued or not, he paid no attention. He trotted up to his trainer and nuzzled his leg. "Chirashi! I ask you to end this exhibition in a draw. Your trainer is out, and I'm nearly beaten as well. You and Kaminari have done well to fight by our sides, even if we got a little carried away." Said Chance, bowing first to the pokemon and then going to Doragon's side. Camille had already lifted his head on her lap and poured into his mouth a tincture made with Revival Herb. He should be feeling in tip top shape as if nothing happened. To Chance she tossed a berry with an indignant,

"Go address your guests, Gym Leader. Your challenger is here as well." Chance could nearly feel the static from her glare before she looked away back to Doragon, ensuring he was alright before she could leave him. The leader did as he was told, returning Kaminari to his pokeball and hustling up the stares, munching on his Oran Berry to regain a bit of energy to show to the crowd. Some of the people in attendance cheered, mostly Chance's students, and others stayed silent at his arrival. Some even stayed pressed against the glass to make sure Leader Doragon was alright.

"Everyone! That will conclude the exhibition matches for this evening. I hope everyone sticks around as long as there's cake! You're all welcome!" Then Chance turned to Cherry, whom was closest. "Cherry, follow me. I need to gather Lucas and Jackie as well. And, ah..." Chance scanned the crowd. There were three gigantic pokemon, a few scragglers around the snack table, Lucas, Jackie, Jackie's Scrafty, Jackie's Cinccino, where was that challenger Camille mentioned? Then Chance spotted her, right next to him and Cherry nestled amongst a Beartic, Charizard, and a Tyranitar which dwarfed her so much that he had missed her when he first scanned the room. Despite his surprised expression he attempted to greet the girl immediately. "Hello! Are you Ryumaru Ryuko?" said Chance with an almost-perfect Johto Accent. "I'm Chance bridgerton, Ecruteak City Gym Leader. As you can see, I was preengaged when you showed up. Give me a bit to catch my breath, and we'll be able to conduct your gym challenge properly. I've got a bit of business to attend to with some of the others here who will be participating in the Pokemon League Tournament this fall. I'd be happy to invite you along, if you earn your badge this afternoon that is." Chance said with a wink. He then nodded his head for Sherry to follow. He approached Jackie and Lucas, whom were gathered by the stairwell. He looked at the black belts who were still loitering about. One of them looked as if he was about to say something, and Chance spoke up first. "Would you all mind giving us some room? I'm going to speak with Lucas and Jackie here." The martial artists looked incredulous. As if the Leader wanting to speak with a ruffian and somebody no one here recognized over some prestigious trainers such as themselves. After a moment chance bobbed his head for them to 'get along' and they reluctantly walked right out the front door as a pack.

"You three impressed me this afternoon. When Doragon comes too I'm going to tell him to join you all for a bit of special training out in the wilds off route 42. There's a mountain there known as Mt. Mortar. There are strong pokemon in the cave system which spans to it's peak. I'd like you three to go ahead of me, to the east out of Ecruteak and find the cave's first entrance. I'm sure you'll be able to handle the wild pokemon on the first level. Wait until I join you to enter the second cave once you reach the first clearing, however. I'm about to give Ms. Ryumaru here her final Gym Challenge. If she passes, she'll be joining us as well! I'm planning a race to the top, so no cheating!" Said Chance with a wide smile, practically giving away all his surprises he had planned right off the bat. He couldn't help himself sometimes, he was like a kid declaring the rules of a game he made up. He awaited their responses before he broke from them to talk to Ryuko about their match.

Dragon was walking calmly across towards the wilds on route 42- he had been revive a while back, and the only reason it had taken him this long was because he wasn't in any rush. Curious he was now about the "special training" on route 42, and walked with a purpose, swiftly towards it. People seemed to get out of his way fast, probably because he had a intimidating Dragapult behind him, flying along statically. Chance had really did a number on him- he underestimated the pickachu from before, and though that dragonites strength would be enough to win the fight. Well, the proof was infant of him that it wasn't the case, with dragonite back its its ball resting.

As Doragon had awake, he had waked up almost immodestly from the couch, started. Then Camille told him about the special training, and he decided to come in for it. It might be fun, and there was also the hope he could catch more Pokemon for his gym- not for him however, but for the Gym Trainers.

And all that led him here, to route 42. He had already gotten supplies like potions and balls, getting a few Heavy balls imported from Galar. Walking along the street, the Gym leader got attention, but he ignored it. After all, he needed to figure out where exactly to go, and decided to wait in the town for everyone else- even though he was the late one.

Dang. This snake wrapped Tenniel up big time, not intending to let go. Cherry really had to act quick on this one. Seeing Tenniel's desperation to break off and the wild Mankey hanging on Henry's chords, she returned the Lucario back to his Great Ball with one hand and conjured an icy spear with another. With that, Sherry jumped into the fray herself by swinging her spear to form a refrigerated Sonic Boom to try scaring the Arbok away. Not without telling Henry to stand back beforehand, of course.

Ryuko smirked when he said that as Bertie Leaped down from th pillar he was on, using Blizzard as he made his descent. Ryuko pushed Chance's sword up away before dropping her swords down to the ground, the blades sinking half way into the ground. She put her hands together and drew them bach before shouting
"Dragon Pulse!"
And firing a beam of blue energy at Chance. Charizard added to the united offense by using Air Cutter, sending spinning blades of wind out from his wings towards the two opponents.​

"Damn that felt good!" screamed Jackie as the Rhyhorn flipped over, sending out a dust cloud that would rival that off an atomic bomb test.

The delighted Dark type was over the moon even with his shoulder screaming at him. The feel of his fist colliding with the Rhyhorn's chin sent shakes up Jackie's body in more ways than the one, as his muscles waged war against unbreakable bone and came out victorious.

Stepping over the fallen trees Cinccino could see Jackie was giddy to say the least, and she too was feeling better after enjoying her Soda Pop. "Your back? questioned the fur coated fighter as she came scurrying over, the Scarf Pokémon nodding in response "Good! Lets finish this then!"

"Shiftry use Growth!" ordered Jackie looking at his Pokémon in turn "Cinccino. Tickle his belly. We can't be having all the fun" he cackled, as he walked around the rolled over Rock type feigning one way then the other as he readied to strike.

Suddenly the Arbok's prey had escaped it, returning into one of those pokeballs the humans use to kidnap them! Then, a woman jumped at him with a blade. It struck him, having caught him off guard, and he recoiled away from her, slithering into the grass and out of sight. A simple meal would be easy enough to find again, this lady was clearly far more powerful than him, and fighting her was not worth his life. The mankey cheered, and the rattatta in the grass came out again to celebrate by dancing around Cherry's feet.

Strong attacks hit Chance from either side. An air cutter from one half, and a dragon pulse from the other. If not for the rigorous physical training he put himself through constantly, he surely would have fainted from the double impact. He yelled in pain and tensed his muscles, taking in a large breath of air to attempt to steady himself. Meanwhile, Wattson had fired a string shot at the cieling and swung down towards their area, firing an electro ball at Charizard from behind just as he attacked his trainer.

Rhyhorn was briefly snapped out of it’s misery by a tickling sensation in it’s tummy. It laughed a strange bellowing rocky laugh briefly, but the Shiftry it was battling caught it’s eye. It was attempting to flank, and Rhyhorn couldn’t let that happen if it wanted to live. ‘Tis the law of the wild. It rolled left, and then right, carrying the Cinccino with it as it turned over. Even if the Cinccino dismounted it would be tossed to the ground near Rhyhorn. That’s when the Rhyhorn felt another solid punch to it’s front shoulder. It’s natural armor took much of the blow, but again the dark energy of the man’s attack left quite a scratch. No matter, two of the attackers were at point blank range now, right where Rhyhorn liked them.

A use of Rhyhorn's signature move, Horn Drill caused it's horn to become elongated akin to a Narwhal. It stabbed with the speed of an Olympic fencer at the Dark Type trainer once. If he dodged, the drilled would continue on into the earth behind him creating a small crater.

Rather than the Rhyhorn's face Jackie's attack hit solid shoulder making the Dark type take notice as he commanded Shiftry to use Growth again. His oversized opponent began to roll, flinging Cinccino to the ground as the Ground type locked eyes with him. Seeing a fire in its eyes that could almost match his own, Jackie wasn't too surprised as the Rhyhorn's horn began to increase in length, the powerful Pokémon pulling out all the stops to win and with the huge horn almost three times the size the Rhyhorn lunged at the fur coated fighter. Unsure if his fluffy jacket would help if the attack made contact and knowing the move would instantly knock him out otherwise, Jackie surely couldn't take the risk.

But with an ecstatic exuberance the honoured Hyde upped the stakes as the Rhyhorn proved a worthy foe. Taking on three guys at once was far too commendable for the Dark Type to ignore so with a suicidal shout he ordered Cinccino to use Encore. Already dusting herself off she began to cheer for the Rhyhorn, the complete antithesis of what would you expect during such a life and death battle, encouraging him onwards in Poke speak as she clapped and cheered, making the Rhyhorn want to use his holler inducing Horn Drill again and again.

Fortunately the move made the puissant point rather oversized reducing the Spiked Pokémon's sight and Jackie would use this to his advantage in this dance with death. Feigning to the right before slipping around to the left and towards the Rhyhorn's injured eye, Jackie prepared to deal another Feint Attack.

After the attacks hit, Bertie felt his strength leave him. Having no more options, he fell, aiming to pin Chance under his massibe weight.
Charizard heard the crackling of electricity, as his right hand became enveloped in it. With Thunder Punch active, Charizard quickly turned around, before throwing the punch at the Electro Ball. Connecting the attacks, the electricity from both dispersed as Charizard
used fire blast. Hot flames flew out from his mouth towards Wattson.​

Aww...

Cherry smiled upon watching all the Rattata dancing around her. These little critters clearly saw her as a hero for them. The icy spear in her hand dissipated, effectively turning her back to her (seemingly) harmless self.

"Now now, come along everyone," Sherry said softly at all the little critters there. Luckily for everyone, the Pokemon March was still playing by then. The young lady got back to her trip, this time with Henry floating by her side. The Mankey from before were still hanging there on his chords, with some rowdier ones occasionally got him in trouble.

Rhyhorn had somehow become even angrier, and more confused. He felt himself wanting to use horn drill, but also too enraged to use the same move in a row. He felt cornered, and scared all of a sudden. In a daze, it stomped, flopped around, and felt more pain spring up in it’s already injured eye. Cinccino had been caught underfoot during it’s Struggle, taking some damage. The giant roared, rearing up onto it’s hind legs, and turned to run off more towards the mountainside. With an alarm swiftness for it’s size, it was nearly inside the threshold already, but not out of sight.

Cherry wandered far enough down the path that she could catch the tail end of Jackie’s battle with a gigantic Rhyhorn, likely the biggest one she’s ever seen. It was galloping into the mouth of a large cave at the base of Mt Morter. The Mankey jumped off of Henry and retreated back into the trees upon seeing the massive Pokémon. The rattatta all cowered behind Cherry and refused to accompany her another step, despite her radio.

Wattson could not stop his spider-man momentum and fell headfirst through the dragon’s flamethrower. However, this had also allowed him to charge through the flames and connect right with the dragon’s chest. He took a large amount of damage, and received a chronic burn, but decided it was worth the pain to aid his trainer. The spider clung to the thing’s large neck and wrapped around it tightly. Another delivery of poison sting left two out of the three Pokémon Ryuko has poisoned. It did little physical damage, however. Chance looked to add to his discomfort, at least, turning to strike it in the body with his makeshift weapon.

it was a strong sideways swing, and he used his ability Bolt Strike to spin, four more times at incredible speeds. He began to look somewhat like a top producing electricity from it’s core, and the lightning might hit Bertie and Ryuko if either came close enough.

Bertie got struck and fell back to the ground hard. His eyes spun from fainting as Ryuko stepped back, looking towards Charizard. She called to him, as Charizard pulled the electric spider off of him, and tossed Wattson away before flying down next to his trainer.
"Char, can you still fight?!"
Her pokemon nodded, a short roar let out, though Ryuko saw the purple bruise on her long time friend.

She looked towards Chance, before looking back at Charizard.
"He's strong... but we aren't gonna let that affect us!"
She turned towards Chance, swords crossed as Charizard shot flames into the air, also showing his strength.

The retreating Mankey surprised Henry big time. He looked around, then tugged Cherry's arm to let her know whatever's going on. "Huh? What's wrong?" she asked, to which the Drifblim responded by pointing at a huge Rhyhorn seemingly desperate to fend their intruder off. And that intruder turned out to be Jackie, of all people. Henry looked at Sherry again with a "What should we do?" look on his eyes. Sherry only shrugged before returning him to his Pokeball and dashing ahead into the cave. All while trying to avoid the Rhyhorn's "tantrums".

Chance caught Ryuko’s knife slashes onto his own melee weapon defensively, and noticed the condition of his scabbard was not good. Neither was the state of his partner. Wattson had rushed to his side after being shucked off by Charizard, whom was putting on an impressive display which made the bug type flinch a little, remembering the flamethrower he just took to the face. Nonetheless, Kaminari would need more time to rest before he could be brought out with any sort of effect. That is, if Chance could stay on his feet that long himself.

Ryuko put her swords back into her sheaths as she looked to her pokemon.
Her Charizard looked to her and nodded, a look of determination on both their faces before looking back at Chance.

"You are strong, but this fight ends now!"
A dark blue aura surrounded her, as another aura of the same color surrounded Charizard. Ryuko slammed both her fists together, before pulling them away and shouting, as her aura and Charizards aura flared up and connected.

"Now is the time to go beyond our limits! Mega Evolution!"
The aura around Charizard morphed into a sphere of energy that concealed her pokemon, before the orb shrunk. Black arms, black legs, a black tail with blue flame, followed by black wings and charizard's own face, with blue flames frothing from his mouth, had emerged from the blue sphere, before letting out a powerful roar that sent a shockwave of intimidation, out to their opponents.

“Well..... Fuck...” Murmured Chance, waiting for the girl to finish her transformation as he glanced between his newly powered up opponents and his Pokémon. Wattson was as loyal as any Pokémon that loves it’s trainer, but there was no need for Chance to take advantage of that loyalty. Chance took out his poke ball, and returned the gigantic electric spider to it’s temporary home. Chance let the ball fall into the sleeve of his somewhat ripped Kimono and as it disappeared, it was replaced by a yellow pokeball, which looked identical to a basic pokeball except for it’s red top. Chance smiled and looked over at the challenger and Pokémon respectively.

“You seem to want me to go all out for some reason. Very well.” Chance pressed the button on the ball and in an electrical charge came out Kaminari. Chance took a fighting stance, activated Plasma Fists, and ensured his abilities were all active. Both the Charizard and Trainer’s speed would be boosted by their bond, and he must meet them full force to keep up. An electrical charge moved through the ground over to Kaminari, in a similar fighting stance beside him. Kaminari’s eyes glowed with crackling yellow sparks. Chance ran the couple of feet between him and Ryuko, then lunged at her to put all his body weight behind this powered up punch. Kaminari ran directly behind his master, and jumped into the air fifteen feet to fire a bolt of lightning at the ninja trainer as well. Following it was a clap of thunder which would shake the walls and disorient all Pokémon on the field. “Prove to me that mega evolution isn’t just a Gimmick! Then you can have your badge!”

"Pffft. What the heck!" Jackie exclaimed.

The Rhyhorn had turned from a proud Pokémon to flopping around like a Splashing Magikarp in one turn. Gone was the fire in his oversized opponents eyes, replaced quickly with fear as it fled. The damning Dark Type must have really done a number on the Spiked Pokémon both physically and mentally. Or maybe he was just a sore loser slash scaredy Meowth. Either way Jackie was done with him now.

Shouting all matter of obscenities in a Parting Shot at the retreating Rhyhorn, and probably making him feel much worse, the fur coated foul mouth let Shiftry take over, with the Wicked Pokémon already calling on Nature's Power once more. An Energy Ball appeared before the twice grown Grass Type, it too grown bigger as Shiftry's Special Attack rose, crackling and pulsing with increased power.

Jackie sorted out his coat, brushing off the dirt and dust as an explosion rocked the entrance to Mt Mortar, not even bothering to witness the certain defeat of his once formidable foe at the hands of his Shiftry.
