Caelum’s breath hitched as he found himself submerged in something that wasn’t water, yet felt just as suffocating. His lungs burned, his body strained, and the weight of unseen chains tightened around his limbs. Regret. Desire. Ambition. Love. Each one wrapped around him, forcing him to confront the truths he carried within. The single eye bore into him, peeling away everything that wasn’t real, leaving only his raw essence exposed.

What made him worthy? Why him?

Caelum exhaled, despite the lack of air. He knew he wasn’t perfect. He wasn’t the strongest, nor the wisest. He wasn’t Solomon. He wasn’t even sure he wanted to be. But—

"I don't know if Solomon chose me," he admitted, his voice steady despite the crushing weight. "Maybe he did. Maybe he didn’t. But what I do know is that I won’t stand still when there’s something I can do. I’ve fought, bled, and nearly died to protect the people I care about. Even when I lose—when I fail—I get back up. And I'll keep getting back up."

His mana core pulsed, a steady golden light pushing against the suffocating darkness.

"I don’t want power for power’s sake. I don’t want a throne or a title. I just want to protect the ones who matter to me. If that’s not enough, then I’ll find a way to make it enough."

He stared back into the piercing eye, unflinching. "So judge me if you want. But I won't change my answer."

Urd, the world tree
Urd smiled and embraced Caelum, pulling his head into her chest. "My master was neither the strongest or the bravest man...", she said in a whisper. She hugged caelum tighter and continued, " He died watching everything he loved slip through his fingers", in a trembling voice. She paused and looked out in the distance, as if looking for something in the endless sky before her. "He said to me, if ever I found a person as desperate as he was to try and help that person. That my friend, was his dying wish". The forest would begin to fall away and the present would come back into focus for Caelum. Around his neck would be a emerald green pendant with a leaf inside of it. Power will flow within him and a voice would echo in his mind one last time.

"Your final test mr. heir, is to save what you want by borrowing my powers".

The power will be overwhelming. but you must navigate it or die in order to do what cha want <3

Caelum's eyes fluttered open as the warmth of Urd's embrace faded, replaced by the weight of the world pressing down on him once more. The pendant around his neck pulsed in sync with his heartbeat, a steady, ancient rhythm that connected him to something far greater than himself.

He knelt beside Elizabeth, his fingers trembling as he placed his palm over her chest. The corruption still clung to her like a death shroud, but he could feel something else now—beneath the decay, beneath the void's lingering stain, life still fought to hold on.

Closing his eyes, he reached out—not with force, not with desperate will, but with understanding. The World Tree did not command, nor did it conquer; it nurtured, it restored. He let that truth settle within him, and in that moment, he did not pull power from the World Tree—he asked for it.

Roots of light, thin as veins, began to emerge from his fingertips, weaving across Elizabeth’s skin like the gentle embrace of ivy reclaiming a wounded tree. The corruption did not burn away—it was drawn out, absorbed into the earth itself, broken down and repurposed into new life. Tiny green sprouts erupted around them, drinking in the darkness and returning only light.

Elizabeth’s breathing steadied, her body no longer locked in a silent battle against the corruption. But the magic demanded an offering, an exchange—energy for energy, life for life. Caelum felt his strength draining, his limbs growing heavy, his vision dimming at the edges. Still, he did not stop.

"If ever I found a person as desperate as he was… help them."

With a final pulse of verdant power, the last of the corruption was stripped away, leaving Elizabeth’s body whole once more. The emerald pendant dimmed against his chest as Caelum swayed, exhaustion overtaking him. His vision blurred, but he smiled.

Elizabeth was alive. That was all that mattered.

Doc did his best to help both patients- sure Caelum had originally stabilized, but losing consciousness was dangerous. His mind went through hundreds of hours spent memorizing maladies and diseases. None had been magic in nature when he fist started his studies, but over time he had learn of the arcane renditions of diseases- though his studies had been narrowed to his hatred of the undead. Certain curses where still unknown to science- though Doc believed a large amount could be explained through categorization and study.

He rarely was able to find these explanations, but still held firm. This world was terror- as a boy he had feared the undead, then he hated them- now he pitied them as well; at least the corpses they stole. He hated the disease, not the creatures it possessed. He tried his best to think of something. The blood would assist with general healing along with resisting any soul taints similar to the undead curse- though something of this things magnitude may be a different case.

He pulled back as he watched the first patient stabilize- at the same time the second was plummeting. He swore and looked closer at the kid, checking his vitals again. He searched his bag for anything- lingering on a ethnicization. Some forms of corruption left a host alive but changed- some things far more dangerous than the undead curse. If this thing operated as one case he had seen once before, there may be a chance he would no longer be an ally. Death would be a mercy- ending whatever pained him; whatever could take control- and sparing others from a corrupted Heir of Solomon. He shook his head and went back to his other solutions- tonics and ointments for wounds and affected areas- hoping to help the patient.
