OOC: We will be keeping a 3 day post frequency per round. The rp is expected to last under 2 months. Ask any and all questions. At present it is a free for all as far as who posts when so long as it is done within the post period. First round may be stretched a bit as folks sort out what they are doing and how they are coming in. Out of combat, action economy will be ignored, but be mindful to play within character limits otherwise. Some abilities are better for ignoring cooldowns than others. I repeat: ask any and all questions. Multiple posts per round are possible and acceptable when not waiting on something from the world (me). Do not wait on others to post unless you have directly told them you are waiting on them and they have told you they will post. Anyone getting skipped is no one's fault but their own.
Time: Sunset
Weather: comfortable temperatures with gentle breeze. mostly clear sky with a few scattered clouds.

Our adventurers, Rios, Malik, Māo, and Crymaria, find themselves gathered within the cozy tavern known as the Whiskered Sake House. With sliding paper doors, tatami mat floors, and low wooden tables, the establishment radiates a sense of harmony and tranquility. The party has been brought together by the Adventurer's Guild for an admission test, their first challenge as a newly-formed group.
A wizened old beastman, the guild clerk, hobbles over to their table, presenting them with an ornate scroll. "This is your test," he says, his voice gruff but wise. "You must work together to decipher the riddle within and uncover the secrets it holds. Good luck, young adventurers."
Unfurling the scroll, the group is met with an elegantly-written riddle:
"In the heart of the village, where the spirits reside,
A sacred tree stands tall, a guardian and guide.
Follow its shadow as the sun sets low,
To the place where the waters of wisdom flow.
A hidden path lies beneath your feet,
Unveiled by the whisper of the wind so sweet."
As they ponder the riddle's meaning, Boris the bear can be found outside the Whiskered Sake House, basking in the warm afternoon sunlight. The gentle breeze ruffles his thick fur, as he lies down near a cherry blossom tree. Given his well-behaved nature and the fact that the village is primarily inhabited by beastmen, the locals regard Boris with curiosity and admiration, rather than fear.
A group of young beastman children slowly approach Boris, marveling at his size and strength. Sensing their presence, Boris lifts his head and gazes at the children, his eyes gentle and welcoming. With a playful chuff, he invites them closer. The children, reassured by his friendly demeanor, draw nearer and start to pet his soft fur, giggling with delight as they stroke his massive form.
Boris, enjoying the attention and affection, rolls onto his back, inviting the young ones to give him a belly rub. The children's laughter fills the air, as they oblige, creating a heartwarming scene outside the tavern. As Crymaria and the others work to solve the riddle within, Boris provides a moment of joy and connection with the locals, further endearing the group to the people of Kemonomura.
As Malik examined the ornate scroll, his eyes narrowed in concentration. He traced the lines of text with his fingers and muttered softly to himself. His mind made connections between the different phrases, and he felt a spark of excitement as the meaning became clearer.
He glanced at his fellow adventurers, who seemed absorbed in their own thoughts and discussions about the riddle. Assuming they had reached the same conclusion, Malik casually stated his thoughts aloud, "This line here seems to be pointing to a specific location in the village."
His voice blended with the hum of conversation in the Whiskered Sake House, but he didn't push for attention. Instead, he continued to study the scroll, feeling satisfied that he had contributed to the group's understanding of the riddle. Malik's focus remained on the mysterious message, as he patiently waited for the others to share their insights and form a cohesive plan for their next destination.

Whiskered Sake House
This chapter of Isekai Hell begins with the sun casting a warm glow over the village of Kemonomura, nestled within the heart of the Republic. The settlement is bustling with beastmen of various shapes and sizes, going about their daily routines amidst traditional wooden houses adorned with ornate roofs and paper lanterns that gently sway in the breeze. The streets are lined with cherry blossoms, their petals fluttering through the air like a soft pink snow, painting the village with an enchanting serenity.
