Is there some kind of unifying RPNation metaplot?

The Stranjer

One Time Luck

Or are all these roleplays just kind of in their own bubbles, their own worlds, entirely disconnected from each other?

there are as many roles as players ... egoism follows us also into imagination and fiction

The fact that you have to ask means you haven't cleared the first stage yet. Don't worry, keep playing and eventually you'll find the conditions needed to continue in to the wider world.

I may or may not be lying,

There are no unifying metaplots but there are the nation builder section that might be somewhat similar. Admittedly I've never really dabbled there but I believe they work under a similar premise ( Nation Building )

Nah, Nation Builders have their own individual settings and plots, the same as any other RP. They aren't each interconnected in any way.

Some roleplays, especially Hosted Projects, will have one setting with multiple RP groups and storylines. That would be the closest you get. :)

So I've done a little bit of lurking on the forums and it looks like you just start writing. That is, you just show up in someone's RP thread and start typing as your character. Is that meant to be the case?

Not quite. Usually things like that are set up before time by pre-existing groups, so everyone already knows who's going to be posting and why. You should always always ask permission first before jumping in a thread, usually by sending the person running it a PM, or asking in the out of character thread.

Course there is.

This is actually a branch of the Illuminati to take over the roleplay worlds and make a new world out of them.

I will probably be banned for exposing the truth.

Definitely check out the Interest Check threads to find RP groups to join! Like JT said, you don't jump in without asking first, that's very poor etiquette.

I'm admin in a forum that has an unified metaplot... But is easier there because we have a way lower amount of users compated to RPnation.

I think that less players help the creation of a metaplot
