SAIGO-NO-HEATS

A drifter, returned
It was spring of the year 1939 NC when the first Vaasan troops came storming over Age's border. Initially attacking small villages and towns, the Vaasan forces quickly gained a foothold on Agen soil by way of rapid mobile assaults spearheaded by advanced armor units. Though Age's initial forces fought bravely they were unable to hold back the iron tide, and within the first month Agen's border cities had fallen. The next major offensive took the port city of Mer, while not financially or materially important the port provided an important refueling point for Vaasan submarines who quickly began to choke Agen's trade network with the northern Nations. The battle of Vitry lasted 6 months, galvanized and determined to avenge their string of defeats the Agen forces rallied and transformed the city into a veritable fortress. Fighting block by block, room by room, Age's fighting men seemed poised for victory at first, but with the loss of supplies from the north the city was eventually choked into submission. It is now the summer of 1940 and just this month the city of Rouben has fallen as well. Vaasa seems poised to strike Agen at it's heart, the Capitol city of Rochelle, seat of the royal family.

But by the Crown's decree, they will go no further! In this darkest Hour Age calls upon all her people! Men and women, young and old! We must unite and drive these invaders from our land! For if we should fail, if we should falter, than the sun will have set on our great nation!

Invasion: 1940 is a faux-WW2 rp in which players will act as soldiers for either the Kingdom of Age, who fight to retake their homeland, or for the invading forces of Vaasa, who's dreams of world conquest begin with Age's downfall.

HELLLLLLLLL YES. in fact I made one like this with magic recently, also I like how every thing is split evenly in the votes

Also can there be mercenary troops hired from nearby countries such as Dover and Liege

Not mercenaries, but Volunteer and lend-lease troops who have come of their own volition to help for any number of reasons, be they a search for fame, fortune, and adventure or out of some personal or moral obligation. So in effect they'd fill the same role.

Got it

;)  I hope we do, every war needs some goddesses of the battlefield to rouse the men's spirits.

I plan on having a medic who supports Age but fights for Vaasan and is intentionally mistreating their soldiers to do her part. A roleplay is incomplete without a good ol' turncoat

I plan on making two characters, one for the Kingdom of Age and the other for the Vassans. That's so both sides will have their share of characters and I wouldn't want one side to be under-represented. Besides, I wouldn't be left out when something exciting happens to the Agens and the Vassans, whether I'm suffering defeat or seizing the glory of victory in my hands.

The Agen soldier comes from a noble family that has a strong military tradition and a reputation for fighting wars for countless generations. He acts like a knight in shining armor and he firmly believes in the ideals of chivalry and fighting honorably. Though he is tasked with protecting the weak and defending the lives of innocents, he still looks down on the "unwashed masses" of the kingdom for being poor and ignorant even if most of the people today are educated and faithfully practice sanitation.

The Vassan soldier would come from a long line of disgraced commoners that have the reputation of getting the shit end of the stick handed to them. They were always unfortunate, if any good thing happened to them it was usually short-lived, for another great misfortune would follow after that. The Vassan soldier would enlist in the army in the hopes that he would finally move up a notch from his miserable life, and he has succeeded to some degree. Sure, war was hell, people died and many bad things happened but at least he was used to shitty things happening.
