Into The Deep [Inactive]

Great.


We may need to make our characters again.... So I'm going to post mine. 
My Character...


Name: Halia


Gender: Maiden(Female)


Age: 15


Species: Mermaid


Personality: Adventurous, stubborn, hyper, caring, funny, more in rp. :P

The blue on her tail and in her hair glows, which sometimes gets her caught when in shallow waters.

Here's the necklace, except it's lighter colored.


Extra: A 'land-friend' gave her the necklace and told her if used correctly... would grant the full-breed mermaid legs. She didn't believe this of course and told her friend that she was full-mermaid, not a semi-mer.


However, her friend died moments after giving her the necklace and she was alone again. Days later she tried using the necklace and....


It worked. It gave her two legs.


As a human she wears faded blue short-shorts and the same top.

Personality/traits: Jack has always had a knack for adventure and studying the unknown ever since he was a child. He can be a bit shy at times but also can be a bit of a hellion. He is pretty handy with small knives and lock picks.


Powers: None, he's extremely good with lock picks and an above average thief.


Weapons: small knives. Throwing knives and a dagger.


Extra: due to his background as an orphan he had to survive by taking things that didn't belong to him. He was bit of a street rat and a bookworm all at the same time.

Jack leaned his head over the side of the boat. He sighed. "Three weeks and still nothing interesting" he said to himself. The sounds if constant pirates barking orders were behind him. Everyone around him had a rough exterior yet he seemed to have a certain criteria. He had a sense of virtue about him, yet he seemed so dull there staring into the deep blue.

Halia had been roaming the sea with a bored expression until she heard something and a moment later there was a pod of dolphins frolicking around her merrily. Halia grinned then began following their joyful movements and soon enough the pod and young mermaid were leaping through the water and diving back under just to do it all again. Halia laughed, the cheerful noise ringing about the area like an echo.

Jack heard noises in the distance. He pulled out a telescope to get a better look,but one of the pirates bumped Into him and he dropped it into the ocean. Jack turned around. "Hey!" The pirate continued on walking giggling a bit. "Kid you keep spacin out like that and ya might end up fallin overboard." Another pirate walked by. "Why dontcha make yourself useful and do something other than gazing out into the ocean like with that smile like a small child." A group of them began laughing. Jack angrily grabbed a mop and mumbled to himself. He dazed off while mopping. "I could've sworn I seen something....else."

Suddenly Halia saw something large in the distance. The dolphins were heading towards that direction too. Still playing with the dolphins and even with their quick pace and never fading ethusasm, she found herself gradually growing more tired with each passing minute, but she enjoyed being the the dolphins and plus, she wanted to see the giant thing ahead.

The ship came closer and closer to them. Jack continued to mop the deck as the pirates lowered a net down to catch fish, trapping some dolphins in as well. "Hey look at what we snagged here." One of the men said laughing. "Some dolphins? Where's they come from?" Jack murmured to himself as he approached the net.

Halia was near the front of the pod when they had been snagged into the net and Halia found herself stuck against the netting and squished by screaming dolphins too. Suddenly, she wondered if now -before she was discovered- was a good time to shift her fin into legs. That would bring only suspicion and questions, of course. The girl whined to herself softly and hoped they'd just throw the net overboard and release the contents.

The pirates continued to laugh barbarically and point. Jack noticed Halia and forced his way through the crowd. "Hold it there is a woman among them!" The men all noticed her . "Looks like we got a poor woman at sea to "use" here." Hack jumped in front of the net. "Stop!"

"Move kid!" One of them said. He glanced into Halia's eyes. He jerked back when he was grabbed. "Listen people like us don't get the opportunity to see a woman in distress this far off land. Captain Geof wouldn't be happy about this sort of behavior kid." Jack pulled out a lil dagger and began cutting the rope, ignoring them all. A bigger man came up yelling at him. "Hey you idiot!" He punched Jack and it turned to a fist fight. Jack was losing. The crowd was cheering. Eventually Jack was slammed into the already weakened net and was plunged into the ocean with Halia and all the other other dolphins. "Well forget em!" The big one said."if capt. Ask he ripped apart the net and fell over." The men agreed as Jack sank in the water.

Halia stared in their direction, her wide blue eyes holding nothing but terror. Suddenly the net was loosened slightly and she tried pushing it up and away from herself, but the dolphins made it impossible to free herself. Suddenly she screamed when she was tipped over into the sea again, the human boy sinking just before her eyes.


Halia made a noise that mimicked a dolphin and soon they all began chirping and whistling and fighting their way out and soon enough, Halia was free. She dove after Jake, aiming to grab one of his wrists and pull with all her might. Luckily the water made people lighter, otherwise this mission probably would have been much harder. Her tail worked against the water as she tried to raise the boy to the surface, completely forgetting about the ship of pirates just behind her.

The men screamed in anger but lost sight of them. They eventually gave up looking around because the captain had another mission to attend to. When Jack made it in land he bean to cough up water. His eyes were still shut as he did this yet he sensed the presence of another person that wasn't just a mere fish. He opened his eyes slightly, feeling a bit weak from the surprise shock of the attack and the plunge into the water.

Halia struggled to bring him to shore and when she finally did, she layed her head down on the sand. Her eyes would open every few moments to look at Jack next to her, just to see if he was alive and OK. Suddenly he began coughing however and she slowly propped herself up with an arm to turn over onto a hip and elbow to better face the boy. She made no movement to speak or even move though.

Jack looked her straight into the eyes. His were half open and when he notice her bottom half his eyes shot open with shock. "Y-you! Are you a-" he passed out in mid sentence. His body seemed to have taken quite a beating from the prior events.

Halia stared back, and merely rolled her eyes when he freaked out.


Slowly she dragged herself farther onto shore and sat down better, then brought her necklace to her lips and whispered something, moments later she hissed and withered in pain, she was actually biting through it as much as she could. Suddenly her fin split into legs, and luckily they were clothed. Blue short-shorts.


She sat silently a few moments, just breathing. Finally however she faced him again and waited for him to come to.

Jack walked towards her amazed. "You really are one aren't you? Can you understand me?" Without thinking to much into it he touché her legs gently. "How did you do this?" He sat down in front of her panting slightly

"Whatever are you talking about? One of what?" She asked, not wanting to be discovered so easily. She figured she would lie and pretend she was just a normal human and eventually he would think he had imagined it all.


She flinched at the touch and lightly glared at him. "I did nothing except drag you onto shore..." She trailed off, shutting her mouth firmly. She had no idea how to lie about saving him from drowning at the ship, which had been at least a mile from this shore.

Jack thought for a moment, rubbing his head due to the whole ordeal. "Hmm maybe I imagined the whole thing." He looked at his fingers which seemed to have a little bit of blood from his head on them. "My memory is a bit foggy from the incident though." He got up and brushed himself off a bit. He wobbled a bit. "I'm Jack by the way."
