NEWS of the Institute seemed to pop up overnight. One day it didn't exist, the next it was all anyone seemed to be able to talk about. Real live Pokémon! Who could have imagined such a thing was possible? The initial hype wave seemed to ride forever, but when the tide of excitement finally receded, skepticism filled its void. Biology experts claimed it an impossible feat, slander was thrown about around Nintendo's supposed lie, labeling the story as a marketing stunt pulled by the company in correlation with popular news media.

It wasn't until the next E3 that the story was proven to be entirely factual. A collection of Pokémon was brought to the convention to serve as a sort-of petting zoo, allowing all convention goers a meager five minutes to interact with the creatures. On top of that, during Nintendo's presentation, a Pikachu was perched on the company president's shoulder the entire time. So now Pokémon live in the real world - what was the world supposed to do with this information?

As it turns out, the Institute was built with the express interest of slowly integrating Pokémon culture into our world. As a means of accomplishing this feat, it opened its doors as a school for teens and young adults to learn about how to care for and train these Pokémon, both for tactical battles and contests of beauty. Students everywhere were invited to transfer into the Institute, promising both an education in Pokémon and standard academics as well. Tuition was high, but many students managed to find loans or scholarships to attend.

[div class=over]about[/div]
THIS has been an idea I used to entertain when I was in middle school and high school, but haven't done much with in recent years, so I decided to revisit it. The basic concept is basically about a research facility that doubles as a school dedicated entirely to the study of Pokemon. The twist is that it takes place in the real world. The institute is funded by Nintendo and the Pokemon Company, but it's not been disclosed where the very real and very alive Pokemon come from. Your characters are in the first class of students accepted into the Institute, and as such, everything is brand new, including the teachers, equipment and classrooms. Pokéballs have not been invented yet, so your Pokémon will have to walk alongside you for now.

[div class=num]1.[/div] First and foremost, I expect respect from each and every one of you, towards me and each other. We're all here to have fun, so please just be nice.

[div class=num]2.[/div] Please use proper role play etiquette. This means no god-modding, no mary-sues or gary-stues, no auto-hitting in or out of battle, and no excluding other characters from a scene. Do your best to include everyone fairly.

[div class=num]3.[/div] Keep romance PG-13 (kissing and hugging is fine, but fade to black if you go further). Blood and injury is okay, but no detailed gore or pictures of gore. Again, keep it PG-13. This is a realistic RP, but don't go overboard.

[div class=num]4.[/div] Characters can be minors, but I will not tolerate minor characters (characters 17 and under) in romantic relationships with adult characters (characters 18+) regardless of age gap. The hard age cap is 10-30, don't go over or under those years.

[div class=num]5.[/div] Most importantly, have fun! This is meant to be a fun hobby, not a job, so don't be afraid to leave if you feel like you need to. All I ask is that if you're ditching, let me and whoever you were responding to know you're dropping out. Your character will be removed via expulsion, and to rejoin you'll need a new character to transfer in.

I'd still be interested in doing this, yes, but it gained no traction, so I'm unsure?
