But think about it, Charlotte is a Weapon Specialist not an engineer, she has absolutely zero experience in engineering so who do you think went to when she got her rusted Vector?

Here; it’s because when she got her gun, she went around the engineers at the academy and asked if they’d help restore it but all of them either outright denied her or said it wasn’t worth the time. All except one, Vincent, who made time to help her.
That’s where her disdain for them comes from and the root of the crush.
