Inspiration in the Dumbest Places

I dunno' date=' I really digged the Abyssal guy in that show. His name escapes me at the moment.[/quote']
I think you're talking about Mozenrath. He was quite Abyssally, yes. Originally, in fact, it was going to turn out in the third movie that they were brothers, so that's an interesting parallel to the Abyssal/Solar relationship. But they decided to move away from the tv series, so it had his father instead.

he always started, the n he'd quickly devolve into a whiny high pitched voice upon losing and squeal "I'll get you aladdin" and run away

A friend of my girlfriend's made a mix-CD for her. I don't know who does them, but there are two songs on it  that were the inspiration for an NPC and story thread.

The first song is about a woman lusting after a man, using a lot of references to fire and flame, and the music makes me think 'cabaret.' "You flicker you amaze me, Your lips illuminate me, I want you now to tell me I'm your only flame..."

A fire-elemental God-Blooded cabaret performer that uses Dragon's Suspire in her act. The PCs meet her in a podunk little mining/trade town somewhere in the south. She hitches a ride with them (possibly by stowing away) to Gem or Chiaroscuro where she's gonna "make it big." She thinks awful highly of herself, but has a good heart and makes friends with the PCs.

The other song is about a woman named Eliza Dane who turns to prostitution to get by, and kind of falls for a regular because he's a nice guy. One day he takes her to the place where he picks red roses for her and he bashes her head in with a rock. "I kissed her good-bye, Said, 'All beauty must die,' Then I knelt down and planted a rose 'tween her teeth..."

The above-mentioned cabaret performer is named Eliza Dane. The Circle sets up in a bigger caravan town or suburb of one of the above metropolises, the Dragon-Blooded prince of which takes an interest in Ms. Dane and patronizes her. Her career is going places and she's getting kinda cozy with him, when the tweaked bastard takes her to a rose patch by the river and, for all the ways he could kill her, bashes her head in with a rock so that she can't leave him.

And then the PCs get there.

And this from a mix-CD. Just goes to show inspiration can come from anywhere.

That happens to me all the time but the other way round, I'll be thinking about characters or a RPG in general (In Nomine was the first time I noticed it happening) and walking the dog whilst listening to my piPod and the songs will seem to suddenly make sense and be about that game (only some songs mind, I'm not nuts)
