Thanks for the welcome! I still need to brew a bit on the character, though, seeing as there's another Moonsilver in play. Although...

As promised! I came to take a look. And propose my concept. A moonsilver archery stealthboi. A scout and/or seeker of truth, a skulker in the machines and under the ground, where people normally dont tread.

My girl's more of a Moonsilver melee master-of-disguises. A bit less pure stealth and a bit more "You won't notice me because I look like I belong here". So maybe not too much overlap...

There is enough wiggle room with each Charm set to allow more than one Caste of the same kind without stepping on each other's toes.

I seen her! Little Miss Mecury :) She looks pretty cool, and I liked her history.

And yeah, my guy is less socially stealthy. And more of the one on the rooftop spying from afar. Or sneaking in to plant or sabotage something. He probably wont be all that socially skilled lol.

And maybe they will know each other. Given their being in the same caste!

In weapons that have slots for elemental cores, is that the only way to make use of an elemental core?

Also, can a hearthstone be placed in such a slot instead and still provide the intended bonus of the hearthstone?

I believe so. They function just like a hearthstone that way. Also, the elemental cores can replicate any hearthstone in Odenol's Codex, so if you want a particular core to give you the effects of, say, the Stone of the Earthweb, you can buy it for the same cost.

Yes, once you go to Creation and find manses there, you can use the hearthstones they generate in the same way and sockets of the cores.

Cool beans! If one were to have a a manse of 5, how many manse would they be able to afford if an artifact of 5 allows 15points?

And do you know of any artifact or talisman or bandolier of sorts that can set a handful of talismans to be used? Or would I need a talisman or other artifact for each one?

In Autochthon, there are no manses. All the cores are purchased using the Artifact Background, one of the reasons that the Alchemicals get 3 for 1 on their purchase.

Some weapons, such as the Grand Daiklave, have multiple hearthstone/core slots, and that also applies to a Grand Beamklave. Other items, such as the Wrackstaff, have multiple slots to them. I am taking a page from the 3e books and ruling that all artifact armor (except for Silken Armor and the Infinite Resplendence Amulet) have a socket to them.

So rather than manse, background(as such can purchase something else with them). I would be spending artifact points for artifacts and any hearthstone equivalents?

Just to let everyone know, along with Epiphany Epiphany and D. Rex D. Rex , I've just gotten a nibble on my interest check thread from T Tinytiger28 . I'll probably close the board to newcomers after this, depending on how well talks go with Tinytiger28.

Heyo! I'm Tinytiger28, which everyone can probably tell, but yeah. You can call my Tiny, or Tiger, or Nikki, whatever you want, I don't really mind.

Anyway, I have arrived in the ooc ~('0')~ and I'm excited to rp with everyone!

So... onto character stuff. Where should we start Sherwood Sherwood ?

First, we need to see what kind of character you want to play. Here is a quick summary of the five Castes you can choose from:

CASTES
• Orichalcum: Holy icons, inspirational leaders and brilliant visionaries, marching toward a brighter future. The architects of Autochthonian aspirations.
Caste Attributes: Strength, Charisma, Intelligence
Caste Anima Power: Add Essence to the raw damage of all attacks for a scene.

• Moonsilver: Spies, infiltrators, scouts and assassins. The silent blades of state and god.
Caste Attributes: Dexterity, Appearance, Wits
Caste Anima Power: Reduce the Speed of all actions by one for a scene, to a minimum of 3.

• Jade: Industrial heroes of the masses. The populist face of the Alchemical Exalted.
Caste Attributes: Stamina, Charisma, Wits
Caste Anima Power: Add Essence to natural lethal and bashing soak for a scene.

• Starmetal: Spymasters, plotters, scenario designers and social theorists. Autochthonia’s greatest manipulators and intelligence specialists.
Caste Attributes: Dexterity, Manipulation, Intelligence
Caste Anima Power: Add (Essence ÷ 2) to all attack, damage and Join Battle rolls for the scene.

• Soulsteel: The secret police, troubleshooters, interrogators and gremlin hunters of Autochthonia. The all-seeing guardians of dogma and law.
Caste Attributes: Stamina, Manipulation, Perception
Caste Anima Power: Impose (Essence ÷ 2) external penalty on all attacks targeting the character for a scene

First off, welcome!

Second, we have my character which is an Orichalcum Caste that is focused a little on melee combat and some memory/mind alteration powers, and a Jade Caste warrior. We have two more people in the works that are making Moonsilver spies and intel specialists, but they are not done yet.

Starmetal is good. I can work with that.

Now, what kind of combat skill would you like to focus on? There is a couple of melee focused ones in the group, but we are not too strong on ranged attacks. That would be either Archery or Thrown. I personally like Thrown for the signature weapon of the Gyroscopic Chakram. If you've seen the move Predator 2, think of the razor disk that the alien had.

lol

So, what do you want to do in between using your big murder disk? Are you a spymaster, looking for insurgents inside the peaceful serenity of your city? Working to root out rogue cells of troublemakers using your network of spies?

Or are you more of the 'People's Champion', using your motivational powers to increase industry and keep morale high?

Just to let you know, we have only had one fight in the game so far, and we have been focused more on information gathering than fighting. But the game is still young.

Very true. I do plan on some good fights later on. Depends on what you guys stir up!

People's champion sounds best. I love the idea of a friendly, cheerful person that will occasionally whip out a murder disk.

Awesome. I can start working on it tomorrow, since it is getting late for me tonight.

Just some basics about the game.

For mortals, Attributes are rated on a scale of 1-5, with 2 being the average joe. A Olympic gymnast or weight lifter would be up in the 4-5 range, being at the peak of human performance. Exalts can under special circumstances raise their Attributes up beyond 5, making them even more incredible compared to humans.

The Attributes are:
Strength - lifting power and physical damage adder.
Dexterity - to-hit base for both Melee and Ranged attacks.
Stamina - damage resistance base and the level of your endurance.

Charisma - how likeable you are
Manipulation - being able to control the situation with your words
Appearance - how pretty you are.

Intelligence - how smart you are
Perception - a measure of your observational ability
Wits - thinking fast on your feet

Abilities are rated 0-5, with a person being able to have a professional level of skill at a 3. A Ability of 4-5 is a world champion level (Michael Phelps in the pool, Babe Ruth in Baseball, Mohammed Ali in Boxing, etc. . . )

Hey Sherwood? Can I make a bit of a change to my xp spending? I had originally snagged two Charm Slots to have more of my panoply on me at one time, but I'd rather get a Charm instead. Can I do that change?
