Infernals?

Ok, Zoronos, Sarodinian, you ran it close and difficult for me. Good job on making great concepts. But the winner is..... Sarodinian.

Sarod: Your Urge is to Turn the Blessed Isle from the Immaculate Philosophy. Because it affects Law/Custom, and it affects authority, civil and religious (The Wyld Hunts are state-sanctioned technically): I rule it a Cecelynian Urge.

Also, I'll be looking over the Fiends and Slayers later. I need to start planning a time and medium of AIM or similar chatting programs to discuss some stuff and answer questions, once the coven is all filled up.

THE COVEN, ROUND 2

Slayer: (TBD)

Malefactor: Ferric Glaston - Sarodinian

Defiler: Shara Wave-song - Feantari

Scourge: Smile Scorned - Pendragon

Fiend: (TBD)

My AIM name is the same as my forum name, except for the [ _ ] between the two words (Ebon Arbiter).

I am currently online for any questions you may have, and you can also contact me on any other moment in which you see me online. :)

Edit: Ooops...after re-reading your post, i understand that you will need AIM discussion after selection. Sorry, initially i thought you had questions regarding character concept, background etc. Sorry again.

Awh...Thank you, Zoronos ^^ I've had a hard time coming up with a concept, and I asked Adder about this idea I had for a Slayer instead, so I guess it came across wrong. The idea wasn't coming along well, though, and I got inspired for a Defiler.

I'm gonna work today on that Slayer idea, see if I can't make something work.

Well, hopefully you have better luck than I guess I did. :-P Sorry for speaking from not understanding the slayer vs defiler thing.

Hope everybody else enjoys the game.

Ahh, finally...I'm not sure how good this is; it took a long time to make the concept work. I'm glad I got her in on time, at least.

Name: Torun Zeia

Concept: Rock and roll god-eater

Caste: Slayer

Motivation: Vanquish gods with her music and devour them.

Urge: (I might need a better one; open to suggestion) Corrupt the Blessed Isle through her music.

Unwoven Coadjutator: Unsure.

Torun Zeia was the product of a most auspicious pairing. Daughter of Torun Kalim and a goddess of war, she had excellent chances to exalt, and was blessed with a talent for battle from both lines. The couple had settled in a satrapy of the Realm to the East to avoid persecution. Torun Kalim marshalled a suffering town to fend off its bandits and quickly rose to become its lord, establishing the worship of his lover as the focus of the town's prayers that did not go to the Dragons.

Zeia grew up in comfortable surroundings in a protected home, but the stars did not arrange themselves into a pleasant life for her. Since the time she could walk, she was taught to carry and use a weapon. Her parents abjectly refused to give her any option but training to become a soldier, certain that she would be chosen to exalt and bring the family fame and fortune. As she grew, she did indeed display an uncanny talent for war, but her parents were disturbed to see another passion burn in her heart.

The girl proved herself a lover of music above all. While she had to have battle strategies pounded into her head, she learned hymns and tunes with a casual ease. When she was strong enough to hold a shield, she instead picked up a guitar, and delighted in the sounds of strumming strings rather than clashing steel. Though her parents were concerned, they imagined the passion would die down on its own, and remained focused on their goal. Years passed, Zeia grew, and she had forms and strategies and the workings of war burned into her mind. Though she could overcome any mortals of her own age in combat, her father and mother sparred with her countless times, and every time they expressed their disappointment that she was fended off so easily.

It was when her teenage years found her sneaking off to practice guitar, or organ, or singing that her forebears began to grow frustrated. Each day she did not exalt and they caught her humming or scribbling sheet music, until her father, in a rage not uncommon to the Chosen of Hesiesh, broke and burned her guitar and every sheet of music he could find in her room. Zeia wept and yelled and pleaded, but her father gave her only the back of his hand and told her that a warrior had to be strong enough to protect what was theirs. If she was too weak to stop him, she did not deserve what she had.

The years wore on and Zeia grew more desperate. Under closer watch from her parents, she prayed to the Dragons in the hopes they would bless her with their power, and she trained harder, hoping to become strong enough that her parents would allow her her freedom. And still she dueled them, and still she was beaten down. They said the music had made her soft. She still practiced in secret, obtaining another instrument and sneaking off at night to play away from the town, when her muscles were aching from hours of work. Music had become her only pleasure, for everything in her home was a sign of her impotence and failures.

It was in one of these nights that the girl was caught. Her mother, wandering the forests in animal form, had heard her playing and investigated. Upon finding her daughter holding the infuriating instrument once more, she manifested in a fury and came forward, shrieking curses and telling Zeia to throw the instrument away. Frightened and furious as her mother demanded she give up what she cherished most, Zeia was inspired and charged forward. She swung her guitar at a goddess, hoping in vain that such an act was brave enough to garner the attention of the Dragons.

It was not. Her mother caught the instrument and tore it away, knocking the girl down by breaking it over her back. Brooking no further distraction from her duty and future, the goddess pinned Zeia's hand and thrust her sword down, cutting off the tips of her three last fingers on her off hand, rendering her unable to play most instruments.

Zeia was taken back to her father, bleeding and weeping, and her parents sealed her in her room. There remained only a few weeks before her birthday and she was old enough to enlist in the Realm's legions. She would have time to heal and then be enlisted, given only a sword and buckler that could be strapped to her arm, for any other shield was beyond her now. Wounded and heartbroken, the girl wondered if she couldn't die of misery before her birthday came.

Such was not her fate, however. In the darkness of her room, while her hand ached and she wept, a voice came to her. It spoke of the crimes done against her; how her parents tormented her for refusing to give herself to war. It told her she deserved her freedom, that loving parents could never have treated their poor child so. She was weak, yes, but not broken. The gods and Dragon-Blooded were tyrants, oppressing all to guide the world in their favor. She was but one prisoner among millions.

It promised her the strength to free herself. To free all people from such torment. It promised her her music. How could she say no?

Zeia was swallowed by the darkness. After five days, she emerged, bursting forth to find herself surrounded by her father's guards. Her hand was whole again, and she was strong. She leapt into the guards, laughing, and tore them apart. Her father came at the sound of the alarm to find his warped daughter drenched in blood, pulling on clothes and smiling. He came at her with his sword, horrified and enraged.

But Zeia smiled and caught his swing, tearing the sword out of his grasp. She told him that he could finally be proud of her, before plunging it into his gut.

Torun Zeia walked the streets of her town that night, bloody and dragging her father's sword. She came to the steps of her mother's temple and ascended, humming a tune. She found her mother within, who failed to notice the demonic taint with her. Knowing the war goddess could not refuse a challenge, the girl called her into a duel, and demanded it again after the single warning the mother gave her child.

The girl tore her mother's heart out and ate it, before burning the temple to the ground.

Ok, the Winners are:

I'll be busy working on setting up stuff, and we need to figure out a time on AIM to discuss what's what. Unfortunately, Ed's Exalted Tools is giving me a headache. :P

I...would not have called that. But yay! Happy to be in the game. Sorry to those who didn't make it...

YOU SHOULD BE!!! :P

Seriously, what are you apologizing for, you had a good character and as such you'll be the one to suffer the inevitable heartbreak of the game not making it out of the prelude. :P

Seriously seriously though, have fun.

This is going to be an interesting group. ^_^ If you have trouble getting things together for an AIM session maybe just use an OOC thread once we get a forum?

^^; I don't like it when other people miss out, but...awh well.

My info is available on request too, and my schedule's open whenever.

Have fun everybody! Just remember, if you take too long Zerik will devour you and take your place.

Thank you for the acceptance Blackadder. I'll try to be a decent player and participate properly in this interesting story that is to unfold. :D

You AIM user id, "leastinsane221" is actually available to anyone that clicks on the AIM icon under your name...

Thought you may wanted to know... =P

Have we a plan? I see still no request of the forum. Are we supposed to be setting up a time to get everyone together on AIM, or did you just need to talk to us one on one?

If the former is true, then I'm available at any point after ~6:30PM EST, and any time on weekends, with few exceptions. Also: Perhaps we players should get in touch with each other to see how our intended concepts and the like will play off each other.

Sounds good, I would sort of expect that to happen in a thread in the game forum once we get it, but outside of that I guess here will do.

As for availability I can be available in the same time range as Sarodinian this weekend, but only if there is advance notice (like the day before).

Sorry, been a little busy, and having to figure out a time on the weekends to chat. Who's up for something on AIM at: 10 AM EST, Saturday?

I'd be probably fine with that. I live in Europe (C.E.T+2/EST+7 if i'm not mistaken) so it will be around 5p.m in the afternoon for me and i could arrange it to be home for the chat.
