Chloe moved to the door, slowly stepping through as she stretched and looked to Adrian. "You're very musical this morning. Everything alright?"

Adrian blinked, looking over briefly before then looking to his food once more. "Yeah. Just. . . keeps my mind centered, I guess? Also, morning."

Adrian flinched at the flick, rubbing his forehead. "Ya got strong flicking fingers." He squinted with a small smirk before sighing as he leaned back with a piece of bacon in hand. "I uh, guess Zuzana didn't tell ya guys?"

"Wanted to wait until you were ready to talk about it. And trust me it was hard enough not getting those two not to say anything about it." Zuzana nodded towards Graham and Reaver.

Adrian shook his head at the two before giving Valerie a ghost of a smile. "Can't kill people that are already dead, can you?. ." He then stood up and made his way to his jacket, taking out the little demon book he was left with before tossing it onto an open space on the table in front of Valerie before sitting down again. "I was hit in the glass jaw yesterday, so t' speak, by this little. . . big birthday gift from mam and dad."

Adrian fiddled with the bacon in his hand before finally eating it. "But yeah, she, uh. . . coaxed me into going to the book and didn't even attempt to help me when I faced the agony. 've no idea why she didn't just get me to leave instead, especially since she knew about dad's plans all this tim. But, y'know, they've never been good with giving me a decent birthday." A painful smile etched on his face as he hugged his stomach in memory of that, alone. "All I wanted t' do was ask her something and maybe see her smile as a gift, but what's that compared t' the 'value' of a kick in the jewels from the one I didn't expect it from, yeah?. ."

He'd then muffledly yell into Valerie's shoulder, but not too loud since he wasn't trying to hurt anyone. "It could've just been a smile and a 'go back'! It could've been less painful! She could've never shown up! All would be easier than letting him win! IT ALL WOULD BE. It--. . ."

"Not t' butt in, but as relatable as that feeling is, I gotta toss the saying that you guys all threw at me - and that's not t' let yer mental illness become who ya are. Ya own the illness, it doesn't get t' own you. And just like in war, some things don't go yer way, some things slip and y'can't stop it. All ya can do is take back control of the situation again and learn from it." Dei-Loki kept a small smile, and raised his glass. "And always remember; don't ya ever tame yer demons, but always keep them on a leash."
