Eden Parker || Gas Station, Downtown New York

The boy paused for a moment, and glanced over at Dante dully. A part of him wanted to say something more, anything for some desperately needed companionship . . . But he had work to do, and to better suppress that inner human need, he simply gave a two finger wave and resumed. There goes the first people he has seen in almost a year now, just like that . . .
Then a female walked in, seemingly unaware about how much more fucked up things were going to get. He had his molotov cocktails prepared and was in process of stringing, and now a new factor had arrived. Without skipping a beat, he continued what he was doing in a swift manner as he introduced the situation to her.
"If this was any other scenario, I would properly greet you but as you may have noticed we have an oncoming horde--" He stopped to snip at the thread with his teeth then continued, "Everything of value has been taken by the man you may have seen leave with the kid, and in a few minutes this place will be gone. I suggest you decide in the few seconds you have left whether or not you'll be running with the man and the kid, or if you're going to grab those bottles with rags in them carefully and be ready to execute." At that point he needed to take a breather. It had been a while since he had spoken so much, and not to mention he was literally going back and forth in the station while doing so.
"I'm Eden by the way . . . " He looked down, now having a second to fully assess her, "and I see you have a dog."
Once again, seeing another living being who wasn't trying to eat him alive caused his heart to ache. It would be wrong to force her to stay with this plan that had a 89% success rate (he never tried it at a gas station before), but he also wanted her to help him with this just so he could have a human with him. The dog was a bit of a downside though, but maybe along the way it could be used as meat or living bait.

Kyra smiled and began helping Eden. "Haven't had much interaction hae you? I haven't seen someone who wasn't trying to rip out my eyes in years," she strung a couple molotovs. "And yes I have a dog. He's smart, he won't get us killed, alright?" She had her katana at her side, a baseball bat strapped to her back. She was wearing a red baseball cap, varcity jacket, and jeans. She had an ordianary t-shirt on. "I don't talk to many people, so this is a relief." She grins and continues to help him. Cas was on alert, ready to tear anything apart that was trying to kill Eden, himself, or Kyra.

Shit, shit, shit...he had infected on his ass...pause, and the kid was crying - the kid also took his sunglasses, so now he was approximately 3 percent less cool. Quadruple shit. In the darkened parking lot, he could see his baby sitting haphazardly where he parked her...so close, yet so far away! His breaths came out shallow and measured, his long legs eating up distance as he sprinted forward like a track star. He didn't wanna look behind him - didn't wanna see their undead faces unhinged and salivating as they sprinted towards his-

"Fuck!" Dante growled, ankle twisting to the right as a large piece of loose gravel chipped off from underneath his boot-clad feet. The pain was distant in his mind - it fucking hurt, but even as he stumbled forward, Dante instinctively grabbed the kid thrown over his shoulder - the kid wearing his bomb ass sunglasses - and hugged him tightly against his broad chest. They went down hard, but Dante managed to land on his back, the air leaving his lungs in a forced gasp for breath. The kid...the kid was still good, right? Hell yeah he was. With a grunt of pure effort, Dante began to roll back onto his feet, but not before he caught sight of them. At least a dozen, sprinting at him with their arms and legs flailing like the God damned wacky arm inflatable jackass. They stumbled over each other on their mad dash for flesh, although two or three of them were ahead of the herd. He didn't have long!

In a blast of adrenaline, he was back on his feet, machete heavy in his grip. "Kid, hold onto my neck...!" Holding onto the child and his briefcase in the same arm/hand was difficult, but he didn't really have a choice, eh? The first zed was already on him, but Dante was ready. His right arm lashed forward like a scythe, the machete singing in the air as its serrated edge bit all the way through the zombie's neck - gore and blood spraying out as its head went flying askew. Grunting, Dante jumped back, light on his feet as the second pack leader lunged at his side. It managed to scramble a hold of his left leg, but he wasn't having it - stomping the gray goo out of its skull with his right boot. "Bitch." He spat. The others were starting to catch up, but the two leaders were dead - he could do this. Turning around, Dante sprinted again, gritting his teeth as every ounce of pressure on his ankle sent bolts of pain through his body.

Finally, moments later, he made it to his car...they were right on him! "Brace yourself!" He shoulder-checked the passenger seat window, letting out a pained growl as the glass splintered, slicing into his exposed face. Fuck that stung. Quickly, he forced Kendrick in through the gap, making sure to avoid cutting him on the broken window. The suitcase followed right after. "Hide underneath tha-"

A growl cut him off.

"Shit-"

A heavy impact slammed against his back, and with all of his strength, Dante shoved backwards, sending at least three zeds slamming against the pavement. Whipping around with murder in his eyes, making sure to keep the kid out of view, the engineer unholstered his sawed-off and immediately blasted a fallen zed's skull in. One pump, and another zombie found its undead life ending.

"Guy in the gas station...HURRY THE FUCK UP!" How was he not dead yet?! Dante growled, kicking another lunging zombie away, and hacking its jaw off. Another immediately swarmed forward, and he was struggling for his life, machete pressed against its throat as it snarled and growled in his face.

"You...tch...smell like shit!"

Amelia was tall with long curly chocolate brown hair. She wore dark blue jeans, dark brown combat boots and a blue t-shirt under a large warn cargo jacket. The women found herself inside a small convenience store, everything hand manly been taken already all she had found was three cans of lima beans. Walking down the next aisle she picked up a jar and flipped it over her nose wrinkling as she read the laybe. Jared sweet beats, she shivered at the thought of eating them. But she can't be picky he had to eat and so did her two little ones. She zipped up her bag and placed it on her back that was all she was going to be able to find in this smelly place. She stopped in her tracks as she heard a loud scream “..what was that?..a baby?” she said not wanting to know what horrible things was happening to the small thing as it sounded upset. Ignoring the thought she made sure to stay away from the direction of the scream and barks she heard in the distance.

For a moment, Ryoko's hand patted his cheek. In a way, that was her thanking him. Even though he wasn't looking for gratitude, he blinked realizing he had without thinking saved her from a horrid fate after all. And while she looked at him differently, he looked at her differently too. He didn't want her to die.

She was clearly agonizing over who she wailed calling Kendrick, whose echoed scream was young and high-pitched, piercing the city. Her son? Felix watched her with concern. "Cmon, Ryoko. Let's go get Kendrick."

BANG! The metal door bent at one corner, gnarled and letting in sunlight. A dozen skin-torn bloody hands with dangling broken fingers and long cracked nails wrestled through that little gap. Felix didn't have to say it twice. The zeds were relentless, coming through this room any second.

The horde seemed to have been more attracted to the kid crying. Even though having a kid like that was trouble, just hearing them reminded Eden of her. They seriously would have ended up being a nice cover . . . Shaking those thoughts out of his head, he finished up then signaled that it was time to go.
"When we get out, you might want to hold your dog, it won't like the noise." He warned as he started to lead her out, unraveling the spool until he got at a distance he was comfortable with. With one hard jerk of the string, everything that was strung up came crashing down in a loud bang. The last bits of fire crackers he had were used in the station, and with the moloctov's flames setting it up, they started making loud wailing sounds and flashing lights.

Eden held his arm out in front of Kyra, started to back up more, already counting in his head for the bigger stuff to go off. With the noise and lights, the horde of zombies had shifted their attention to the gas station, only a few still going after the other two. From the back outside, he could hear the zombies screaming as they stormed inside, another thing crashing down as the swarm triggered a trip wire. Kneeling down, his bulky umbrella open as a makeshift cover, he turned away as the bigger explosion went off. Soon the other gas tanks would blow up, but he was more concerned with the fact he used up more supplies than gained.

"It can't be helped." He muttered mostly to himself, then looked over at Kyra.
"Are you alright to run? There will undoubtedly be stragglers and more alerted to this." Eden stated, the remaining wails from inside growing louder.

Kyra held Cas in her arms, but he didn't seem affected by the noises. "Damn right I'm good to run," she grins. She puts her dog down, and unsheathes her katana. She saw te burning flames, and it reminded her of her father. He had died when a bomb went off under him during the war. Her eyes stung with tears, but she suppressed the urge to cry. She secured her hat on her head. She looked at Cas and nodded; she began running with Eden, her Katana outstretched, ready to slice off the head of any undead fucker she came across.

As Dante struggled against the struggling undead, the sudden and abrupt cry of fireworks and fire blasted through the air. The zed's spiny neck snapped towards the sound, temporarily relieving some of the pressure it had on Dante's body. Bad idea. As soon as he felt the slightest chance, the man took it, grunting as he slammed his left fist brutally against the undead's jaw. It's neck cracked and gave away with a disgusting spin, allowing Dante to push it away and blow its brain out with his shotgun. "...Shit, fuck...balls." He breathed out quickly and quietly, leaning back against the broken window of his Camaro as the rest of the undead began dashing towards the noise and chaos of the gas station. That guy inside totally did it...damn, the dude probably saved his life. Already, albeit vaguely, he could see him escape the station - alongside a slightly smaller form. A girl, it looked like.

"Alright, time to get the Hell outta dodge..." Sliding across the hood of his trusty sports car, Dante slammed open the driver's side door, throwing his ass into the warm leather seat and twisting the key into the ignition. "You doing okay, kid? I'm gonna find your 'Ryo' soon, alright?" Tossing Kendrick a slightly worried glance, Dante shook his head and pulled the car into drive. In a skrrt of rubber on pavement, the vehicle lurched forward, heading right towards the two who set off the explosives. The zombies were distracted, sure, but he could see quite a few still dashing and crawling around, their necks and heads twisting this way and that in search of a different type of prey. They needed to go.

"Hey, you two." Dante called out, hanging from the window. "Hop in! Name's Dante, and consider my Uber service a 'thank you' gift. For saving our asses."

Kyra didn't hesitate for aminute. She sheathed her katana, shoved it at her side, picked up Cas, and got it. "Thanks, dude. I'm Kyra. Call me Ky" Cas layed down on her lap. He was a smaller Pitbull. Most of his breed was larger. She watched Eden get into the car. The wailing of the child in the front seat was driving Kyra fucking insane. She didn't like crying children. For one, it was annoying as hell, and two, it made her sad. She buckled up and looked over at Eden, giving him a small smile. "You're pretty cool. Explosions are ALWAYS awesome," Cas licks Kyra's hand.

Amelia took out a folded up map of the area filled with multiple markings and crossed out the store. Placing the map away she kneeled down and pushed away a box. She checked the surrounding area before crawling out of the small opening and quickly crossed the street. The women tried to keep to the shadows and make as little noise as possible. Rounding the corner of a building that's when she heard the explosion “What the hell?!” she said turning to the direction of the blast. Again it was from the same direction as the child screams and dog barking. With that mess, she decided to cut her scavenging short for today and head back to her hideout. Something was seriously going wrong, one she did not want to be caught in between a swarm that knowing that noise would bring. And two she needed to get back to her sister in case they needed to relocate.

Today was exhausting, and he wasn't sure if it was the zombies or the sudden interactions with living beings. Either way he was relieved to see the man had returned with a car, welcoming them in. He settled in, thanking Dante quietly as slumped into the seat.
"I suppose they are." Eden tilted his head slightly as he answered Kyra. Only giving himself a few seconds to relax he sat right back up ready for whatever may come next. He leaned forward lightly, sitting directly behind their driver.
"Where are you planning to drive to?" He asked, the playlist ticking down in his head, "This car will attract attention to us . . . What plans do you have?" Since Dante was the one driving, he assumed he would be booking it, but from what he heard, it seemed like they were looking for someone.
Not exactly ideal since the zombies were all worked up now, and the car would surely draw them in on them. This wouldn't matter if they were just driving away, but if they're trying to find someone it made things complicated.
Interactions: Kyra ( XXDemonCutesXX XXDemonCutesXX ) , Dante ( Wasted Ink Wasted Ink )

Kyra sighed. She looked out the window, petting her dog. "Rotting fuckers out there, aren't they?" She was saying it mostly to herself, having no intention of someone answering it. She knew one thing: she was safe with them. For now. She wasn't sure why, but she knew that she was. Eden seemed clever, and Dante seemed strong. She was damn well certain she would survive longer.

Axel
Lean back, feet on the ottoman, an empty roll of paper between his lips. There was no denying Axel was cozy in the third floor apartment in which he had just lock-picked in about an hour or two ago. It had been a real jackpot, as he found beef jerky, a jar of soup and a tin of coffee, of which everything except the latter he had just eaten. Now, with a somewhat full belly, he could finally relax for a minute after weeks of running from the zed. That was, until a huge explosion was heard just outside his window. With a sigh, Axel got up from his seat, put away his stuff and took his bat, taking a shortcut through a few houses and fire exits to quickly get as far away from the gas station as he can on his two legs. He ended up on a balcony, where he managed to see a car coming from the direction of the explosion, heading past him.
"Fock, people," was the only thing Axel could think before bolting into action. No matter what, he wasn't going to spend another day alone. It's been a worse hell than what his old friends are probably in right now and he couldn't let this chance get away. Regardless if the people in the car saw him or not, he needed to get to street level quick.
Axel's body got ahead of his mind, however, and he just jumped, with no real idea how he was supposed to not break all of his bones. He got lucky though, his jump was good and he managed to grab unto a sign poking out of a building on the other side of the street. His hands, however, tired quickly and he fell a few meters down from the sign, onto the street.

Ryoko Lee
Ryoko nodded, not wasting time. She crouched down, and opened her bag. She brought out two flashlights and put up her bat, putting her hair up so they'd have less to grab in combat. She handed Felix a flashlight and reached down, petting her dogs. She had yet to thank them, but they'd hadn;t the time. She looked into his eyes, realizing for the first time they were blue, and she remembered Kendrick adored that color.

"Thank you, Felix." She said, saying his name for the first time. "You aren't a total failure with a disability like I originally assumed." Ryoko chuckled, before darting down the hall. The door had begun to bend beneath their crushing strength.

Kendrick Lee
He had never ridden in a car, and had ceased crying by the familiar rocking motions much like Ryoko's arms used to do. It was comforting, and he sat in Dante's lap rather content now. They were moving fast! Earlier, when the monsters were chasing him, he felt scared. This never happened with Ryoko, she kept him inside most of the time. This was his first time this far away from the station! And it looked like they were going to Grandpa Jason's house. He was really mean, but he had candy. And fruit! Fruit was hard to get, hard to grow. Speaking of growing, where were they going again? He adjusted the sunglasses, perplexed by the shade it held.

"Dan...tay! That way." He said, pointing in the distance.

At firecracker dude's question, Dante glanced into the rearview mirror, smoothly drifting out of the parking lot and past yet another jumble of undead monsters. His eyes, exposed for the first time in a while, was a strong, dark-colored amber that squinted slightly in the darkness. He gave the other man a smirk. "I have a plan...kinda. We're heading back to my place. It's pretty damn safe there." Returning his attention to the street, Dante leaned forward, his squinting gaze turning more focused as his eyes adjusted to the time of night. There weren't too many zeds on the street, fortunately - most of 'em seemed to be heading towards that gas station, so he didn't really have to stain his baby with nasty brown blood. Plus, his passenger window was still fucked, so until he could repair that...well, he didn't really want zombie guts flying into his vehicle. It was a pain in the ass to clean out.

As the kid in his lap - little tyke still wearing his sunglasses - suddenly spoke up and pointed down another road, Dante cussed and quickly slammed his right hand into the stick shift, going into a lower gear as he professionally twisted the car to the right and drifted around a corner. Despite his swear, however, a small grin was on his lips - eyes alit with a fire as he quickly hit the gear again and slammed on the gas. With a rev of the engine, they were going down another street - per his little buddy's suggestion. "Gotta work on your navigational skills there, bro." Damn he missed street racing. Almost ended with him getting expelled from college, but Hell if it wasn't exciting.

Going so fast, he barely realized that an entire fucking body was falling into the street until he almost hit the idiot. With another curse, but this one infinitely more annoyed, Dante quickly eased on the brake while his right hand worked at the stick shift. They grinded to a halt, thankfully not screeching and biting the tires on the crappy pavement. Exhaling slowly, Dante glanced at his two passengers in the backseat, before tilting his head at the guy in the road. "...Uh. Any of you know him?" He stage-whispered, although his hand was already reaching towards the Glock resting in his cupholder. Can never be too cautious nowadays.

FELIX | Downtown New York
He glanced at himself, wondering what disability she assumed he had? Irregardless.
The flashlight shone down a long corridor with a cement floor and white plaster for walls.
As they turned the corner, it grew more apparent which building they were traveling through.
Walking up a few carpeted steps, passing sunken theatrical movie posters, Felix eyed the
doors to every silent auditorium, wondering if there were more zeds waiting inside.

He would not tarry long, knowing how soon the door behind them would be bust through.
Still, his legs felt like jelly as he followed the dogs and Ryoko through a pitch-black movie theater.

Kyra shook head. "I haven't talked to anyone in quite a while. He's cute though.." She whispered the last part a bit too loud. Her voice was sweet, though she never payed her voice any mind. She ignored her ignorance and let out a breath she hadn't realized she had been holding. She grasps her sheath containting her katana.
Cas begins to bark at the stranger, thinking, GET AWAYYYY FROM KY!
Kyra continued to grip the handle of the sheath, gazing at the unfamiliar man.

Hearing Dante's answer didn't exactly put him at ease, especially when it was clear he was following the directions of the kid who had almost gotten him killed in the first place. Seeing the man down the road drop down, Eden held onto what he could in the car, already prepared for the driver slowing into a stop. He squinted a little for a better look, but he already knew he didn't know the guy.
"Never in my life till now." He answered, raising an eyebrow at what he heard from Kyra but he decided to ignore it as some sort of female thing. The man for the most didn't seem threatening to them, and his previous suspicions of some sort of trap vanished quickly when no signs of anyone else was near. Judging from his previous nagging pains, he could assume this man was just excited to see another living being and was willing to throw himself at them for it . . . Crazy, but insanity wasn't a new concept to him.
"How charitable are you feeling?" Eden asked lowly, leaning against the window. His attention shifting from the man on the streets, and at Dante, still trying to fully assess him.

Axel
While he had stumbled a bit when falling from the sign, Axel managed to get up quick and after a moment of confusion, turned towards the car:
"Oi, mates, room for one more?" was the question Axel used in attempt to get invited into the car. Any answer was cut short, however, as a zombie, attracted by the noises the car made, emerged from one of the alleyways and charged towards Axel. Luckily, he noticed the monster soon enough and got ready in a steady position, his bat near the ground. A second and a half later, when it was just a step or two away, Axel flung his bat up with great power and speed, breaking the undead's neck instantly and making its head fly a few meters before hitting the pavement.
The creature taken care of, Axel turned around to see that there was a big pack of zombies a few hundred meters away, running towards him and the gang. "Actually, you can decide that later," he decided in his thick Boston accent, not taking a second moment to think before quickly squeezing himself into the car and happening to sit next to Kyra: "Mate, I suggest we get the fock outta this place before some zed come and eat this car," he suggested, tapping Dante's shoulder to get his attention.

"Felix, let's get the fuck outta here. I need to see my brother. I can't believe he's dead. maybe, maybe, like, someone picked him up? Or it was someone else's scream?" She said, voice shaky. Ryoko finally gave up on the quiet, slow progressive act. Fuck the zombies, fuck the place, fuck the apocalypse, fuck safety. She needed to keep Kendrick safe.
Still holding Felic's hand she yanked him along, running, feet slapping on wet concrete. The place seemed to look more and more menacing, the walls smeared with bloody handprints and little bones everywhere- pehaps from a dog, cat or a... a child. She swallowed this thought, sweat running down her face. The brave her, the one without any fear, was gone. She was TERRIFIED. All of a sudden Felix and his dog comes along and she's chased by huge swarms of zombies. This has only happened three times in the past year, and she had a baby to take care of.

Kendrick had, of course, caused more trouble being the child he is. After screaming and nearly having the whole group killed, he saw fields in the distance. They were so familiar! Grandpa Clem! Kendrick began to bounce happily, and with the speed of a child, he clambered out of Dante's lap and slid down the hood of the car. He landed with an unsteady thump, and ran off, small enough to vanish without being noticed. All that was seen was an odd movement in the tall corn fields, and occasionally a child's laughter. Behind the fields stood a large red house- that would've appeared inviting except there were camera's everywhere. Also barbed fences, trenches, and random holes everywhere to help slow down the approach of zombies. It definitely wasn't the place for a child, but Kendrick had already disappeared into the brush.

(Perhaps AquaMarie AquaMarie is influenced!)

She grinned at Axel, before realizing that the little time had ran. "Fuck! That kid's gonna get himself killed!!" She would've ran out of the car, but Axel was now blocking the door. Intense worry rushed over her. "Shit shit shit.." She mumbled, panicking a bit.

Eden Parker || New York Downtown

It made him sour thinking about it, but a part of him was glad the child nightmare was gone, and he hated that even a bit of him thought that way. Seeing the kid run off, he noticed that the attention was still on them, and none of them seemed to be alerted by the kid. Eden hesitated slightly, still a bit iffy about being around humans again, but he ended up placing a hand on Kyra's shoulder in an attempt to calm her down.
"Its alright," He started to assure her, "The attention is still on us. Running after him now would endanger him more than help him with the aggression of the horde on us."
Eden cursed their luck silently, and prayed to any god that was listening to help that kid not get himself kid in the meantime.
"Either one of us tries to sneak off after him, which may end up bringing some attention to the kid. Or we drive off with the attention of the zombies, bring it to a different location and try to loop back past them to go look for him." This time Eden spoke more clearly for everyone to hear. His voice was starting to warm up more with each usage, something he was relieved about but didn't have time to dwell on that. "If we do the latter we'll remain as a group, and even if we just met it still increases our chances of surviving encounters. It'll be more time consuming, but it's one of the safest options we have. The kid might actually be safer than all of us right now if he doesn't manage to get himself killed."

Even if he spoke to the group, he turned mostly to Dante for the answer since he was the driver, and either way the looked at it the guy was about to lose his car. If they wanted someone to sneak out to go after kid, he would go since he was on the side of the kid, and he felt confident in his training to manage without the safety of others . . . Plus if he did find the kid, he had a nice roll of duct tape with his name on it-- whatever the kid's name was.
Whatever they decided, it had to be fast because each second they took was a second off their lives.

Kyra smiled, relieved. "True. If there wasn't a horde behind us, I'd run after him..." She feels a bit awkward, sitting in a car with now three guys. God this was weird. It felt so foreign. She had completley shut herself out from the world when her sister died. She messed with her dad's dogtags, and began to pet Cas.
