Hisssssssssssssssssssss... replaced by the tumbling sounds of struggle and the cries of a deer in desperation

Jesse sat on a dying tree that hadn't grown very high up and he watched the viper jerk forward and consume its prey. Once it swallowed the creature down Jesse cleared his throat and hopped up. The viper hissed to him and lunged forward. Jesse held up Kobra and its eyes flashed. The giant snake stopped cold and slowly rendered himself back, coiling into a pile. "Leviiiathan, my lorrd. You have returned. Forrgiiive my inssssolencce."

"Close. But I'll thank you anyways. You must be King Viper. My land form needs you to regroup at once."

"Of coursssse my lord. But therrre issss one dilemma. There issss a rival, a ssspeciesss that mussst be exterminated. One remainsss. Destroy it, and I shall return."

Jesse chuckled and shrugged. It was funny how even a servant could find some way to send him on an errand. "Alright Viper I'm on it. Regroup as soon as you can." Jesse shook his head as he walked past King Viper. "You will find it in the tombssss" Jesse noted his advice and headed forward. He was looking for tombs in a forest. Lovely.

Sebastians left hand felt little resistance- nothing like a collided blade should. Sebastian watched in horror as his sword slowly went up and up and through her hand. He was paralyzed with apology, and her laugh only partially released him. He matched her eyes and the fear from harming her faded. She was okay. And she was also on the offensive- no more lollygagging. His grip secured while she spun, eyes looking for an opening. Just then she was gone. He felt a prickling sensation and turned around. With little reaction time he took a half step back and bent his knees to hold himself steady and held both swords up to protect himself from the slash. Their blades collided and Sebastian pushed against her force to hold them there. "I thought you couldn't fight! This is amazing snow keep it up!"

Snow: She breathed out heavy, her blades against his, their bodies so close to touching as she looked into his eyes. She let the sound of metal on metal ring out as she drew her blades back quickly. "I remember Sebastian. I remember what my body used to do." She bit her lip softly, a bit distracted by his eyes but she shook her head and her gloves glowed so much she winced. Her skin was desperate to touch him. She bent at the waist, her legs kicking up as she flipped in a graceful arc, her legs landing in her no handed cartwheel.

She turned naturally with the spin and tapped his blade before she pushed back in a back flip, her wings appearing to help guide her, her entire body vanishing in the air in splash of water. The water continued the arc of the flip and hit the ground, forming her body again as she looked at him panting from far away. Her clothes had changed to more flexible clothing. "Also I am inspired Sebastian... to be useful to you." Her bow gleamed and her knees wobbled from tiredness. She had remembered what her body could do... but this body did not have the stamina. She stretched her arms and her blades seemed to sink into the palms of her hands, waiting to be called forth and used.

Sebastians eyes and body moved along to watch Snow's bounds. It was marvelous. The glistening of her water caused a smiled to slowly spread across his face. As he was panting the smile grew. Just watching her agility was tiring. "As am I, Snow. You're magnificent.. I knew you had it in you." From her demeanor Snow was reaching her limit quickly. The fight wasn't about wining rather helping her learn, and Sebastian felt he had done just that. "Should we call it for now?"

Snow: "Oh yes please. I am so tired from this." She sighed, looking at him and grinned softly, her skin quickly absorbing the sweat, the shine she had created from the work out now gone. She straightened and her gloves flashed as she reached out and nudged him a little on the shoulder. She quickly pulled her hand back, not used to being able to touch. "Thank you Sebastian... I... I um had a lot of fun."

"Probably not as much fun as I did" Sebastian laughed and let his arms fall relaxed. "I'm beat. Let's head back home now." He shared the blades in one hand so that he could grab hers with his other. He held her close and guided them back to their cabin for rest. "All of this time we've been here.. I just realized we never picked a room for ourselves."

Snow: She nodded, blushing as she looked at his hand. "Y-yea." She whispered, looking down as her gloves glowed, her arm numbing to the feeling of touching him. She bit her lip and looked around the cabin. "It's pretty big... I wonder if I can find a room for me. I really... I'm nervous about not sleeping in water. What if i melt right into the bed?" She laughed a little, trying to bring in some humor to her dark joke.

"No... that's a realistic concern, Snow. Maybe we should find you a decent body of water to stay in. We haven't checked the backyard, there could be a pool? Though if there was I doubt Jasper has kept it clean... we might get lucky with a pool cover..... Snow, dear.." Her hand felt.. cold. He let go and looked at her with worry across his brow. "Are you alright? You're freezing!" Though, in retrospect, how would he have been able to tell if that was her normal temperature or not- he'd never been able to hold her. He smacked himself mentally for the suggested worry. Her name was Snow after all. It made sense for her to be a bit colder than the average person. But he couldn't shake the feeling to make sure

Snow: "Oh um... its the gloves. Alex changed them, made them instead of freezing the things I touch, they freeze, well numb, me. When my skin reacts, it makes it so the chemicals don't ever come in contact with you. It just gets a bit dangerous when I touch for too long and it stops numbing and starts freezing. But I am made of water so it just turns my arm to ice." She laughed softly and looked up at him to see if he was okay with her turning to ice when he held her hand.

"Is it dangerous? Are you in any harm from our contact? I mean you're water, ice is water but..." He just exhaled and sighed it off. He was just freaking out. "As long as you're okay...." Sebastian offered his hand once more.

The sun was rising high and bright above the camp. Without the light of the fire the camp became more... calming in a way. There was a gentle breeze he hadn't caught before. The trees rustled together and whispered to the wind. Birds morning songs of joy chirped all around them.

The warmth of the sun on his skin pleased Sebastian. But they couldn't stay outside for long. Clouds rolled over the sky and periodically dimmed the light to a gentle calm blue

Snow: "I... don't really know. I believe Alex would. Do you think he is still running tests on the samples I gave him?" She looked at his hand and bit her lip to keep in a smile. Her eyes could not hide the smile though. She looked up and went to him, taking his hand softly. The glove started to glow again. "It just seems to be around you that my skin needs to be numbed."

"Only around me? Is there something special about me, or do you just like me too?" he opened their cabin door, "The more love and attraction you feel towards me, the more your heart flutters, the more your power is produced and is secreted out of your body?"

Snow: Her eyes widened and she opened her mouth before closing it, looking away with a blush on her skin. "I um.. I just.. it's um. You are just the closest relationship in my life at this moment. And as your body mistook my power for affection my powers are doing the same. They think you love me. And want to respond to that." She blushed and sighed as she walked faster, in front of him as she headed for the kitchen to cool down. Her arms stopped glowing. She of course in her ramble left out that her powers thought he loved her because she was feeling affection for him as well. But she couldn't let that happen. Sure if they touched... it would be great. They would be in love. But it would be forced on his part. And his life would be shortened... she didn't want that.

Well Snow, I've never experienced love. You would know better than me. But Snow, if it feels anything like how I feel... Sebastian would have professed his heart to Snow but she was so quick to evade the topic. He didn't want to push her, but he couldn't keep letting her believed he only THOUGHT he loved her. This sensation... this pain in his chest.. this is what heartbreak was like. "Snow I..." He followed her to the kitchen "I just.., um..." Where was all of his confidence? His hands were so clamy and moist.. "I don't know how to get into the backyard from here, the dining room?" What the hell Sebastian? Just tell her. Ease both your fears. Sebastian gulped. "I love you, Snow. I know I do. I know it. This way I feel isn't made up, it isn't just your power, Snow. There's my own consciousness, my own desire to be with you, Snow. Fine... your power caused this. But I could have left, I could have resisted and said no. But I didnt, because I want to be with you Snow, only you. You can deny that I love you, it's fair it'd been only weeks at best, but you can not tell me what I feel for you is either just your power or just a deluded fabrication in my mind."

Snow: She turned as he asked her about the backyard. "Oh, I don't really know either-" but her words were cut short by his. She stood, her gaze locked on his as he confessed to her. Tears rushed to the edges and her bottom lip trembled. Her heart sung so loudly in joy she wouldn't be surprised if he heard it. She took a step to him and breathed in shakily as he went on. This... it wasn't good. Her gloves glowed so bright that the ice her arms were started to spread past her arms to her shoulders. She reached for him and her icy touch rested gently on his chest. She shook her head, wishing she could rest against him, hear his hearts song. "Sebastian. It would kill me inside to destroy you because I was too selfish to stop loving you." She finally whispered, her blue eyes wet with tears as they fell from her face in snow drops, frozen from the gloves.

Sebastian placed his hand over hers. It was so cold.. he held on to her fingers. "It would take so much to destroy me Snow. I am a... Seraphim. An angel of the God. Love me, Snow. Love me as much as I love you. And love me more and I will never leave you. Be with me Snow. Teach me what It means to love with you by my side"

Snow: She gasped softly and leaned forward, allowing her head to rest against his chest. To any passersby they would not consider the two intimate. But Snow was allowing herself to touch him. To listen to his heart. She turned her face, kissing over it softly. This was the most contact she could allow herself to give him. "I do love you Sebastian. I feel like in this life I was made to love you. But to love means to cherish them above yourself. Doesn't it?"

"An undeniable responsibility. Their happiness, their safety, their success, and to be their support, their guidance, their light in the unknown and the darkness. But having enjoyment, satisfaction, and fulfillment in doing so. Not to cherish them above yourself, but to cherish them as oneself."

Snow: "Sebastian, my love wouldn't be safe for you. If this was reversed... If you knew that if you loved me, if you held my hand, skin to skin, I would die sooner then I was meant too... what would you do?" She looked up at him, stepping back, afraid of letting him have any more contact with her at this time.

"What would I do? I wouldn't touch you. I would force myself to contain my.., need, passion." He took a small pause. He didn't need to think, it was like the words formed themselves. He looked into her eyes, and at some point his gaze turned from watchful, loving, and full to a deep, almost reminiscing wonder. "You would be my world. You would be the reason I would rise and the reason I can rest knowing you are safe. There would be a flame inside of me that I could never exinquish. I would be fueled by the inability to be completely with you. I would want to envy those that could have would we could, but I would pity them more because they could never truly understand a love like ours. You would be my other half, you would be an extension of me. I would feel incomplete without you. I would feel your joy and I would feel your sadness. I would do everything I could to keep a smile on our face. There would be a responsibility not only for myself but for you. And it wouldn't be a burden, oh no far from. How could I? Why would it be? Wouldn't I want joy? Wouldn't I want fulfillment? Homeliness and... completion? An angel must be in control, not just of jurisdiction, but also of themselves. If our roles were reversed... I don't see a difference."

Snow: She shivered, her eyes almost closing in the thought of that. Of the love he was describing. She turned away from him and held herself, shaking with tears. This was killing her inside. To hear how much she would mean to him. How there wasn't a difference. She thought of the envy he spoke of, if she had to see him with someone else. She walked away quickly down the hall, wishing to find a room to lock herself away in. She couldn't think with his eyes on her. The deepness of them. She thought of him containing a passion and her gloves flared, a small yelp sounding from her as she fell to the ground. The fabric burned her and she tried to tear them off but couldn't. Her skin started to freeze everywhere, not able to control her body's need to love him. She looked around for Sebastian, not knowing what to do. "Get Alex, somethings wrong..." She whimpered, sitting against the wall, biting her lip to keep the pain in.

"Sir... Major Benavax reporting. The espionage infiltrate has not responded back, at all sir. Sir... I would deem it wise we relocate. The infiltration may have revealed us."

"Just the opposite, Major. Ensure the medic leaves our friend in the field. Stripped of course." The inorganic admired the light reflection and rapid rainbow streak in the clear crystal bounded in a claw.

"We move once everything is packed. Better, instruct our platoon leave everything not important. If the Horsemen know we're coming, and they've shown us they do, then they're prepared. We can only thank them for preparing us too. And what better way to thank them than to use their own power against them?"

"Of course sir"

Sebastian could practically feel his words overwhelmed Snow. She was losing ability to even look him in the eyes. But he couldn't, just couldn't let her believe...

She ran away. She always ran away. It was almost inevitable. But it was starting to hurt less.

Sebastian leaned on his hands and back to the island. He didn't realize how... quiet it was in the house. It was so empty... familiar.

Snow's yelp startled Sebastian. His body tensed, relaxed, then remembered the stairs incident. She needed him. She called him. The pull in his chest assured him. He rushed out of the kitchen and to the hallway. The first sight in the dimly light walkway was his Snow leaning against the wall. He rushed to her side catching her message. He didn't want to leave her alone, but looking at her arms... she said the gloves froze her. He touched her quickly and pulled back. Ice.. "No.... his lab is two, three days away at least.." What could he do? Then

He reached into his shirt and pulled out Alex's gift. It had changed, drastically. How had he not noticed this? It didnt matter

Sebastian popped the lock and a brilliance radiated off of every page, spilled over and gleamed out of the book. But as he opened the cover, it was surprisingly lighter than it looked, the light only brightened then quickly faded

The writing on the pages wasn't similar to any other written syllabary man had known. He knew it, it was angelic. A smile spread on his face and he slowly ran his fingers over the writing. Quickly he stopped. He need to save Snow, but it was just so.. familiar. Nevertheless he turned the thin crinkled pages. This book was thousands and thousands of years old.

"No.. no... no....

He would check every page if he had to. A bible, an ancient word as old as Sidhe herself must, m u s t, be something. Even if he would make it himself.

Snow: "Sebastian... ge..get the gloves off of me." She whimpered, watching him try desperately to help. Her torso began to turn to ice and the boots she wore glowed as well, her legs ice. She tried to move but couldn't. It wasn't even painful anymore... it was if everything was being numbed. She let her eyes flutter close, her heart slowing down in the cold depths she was being trapped in. "Could you fly? I would love to see your wings..." She sighed softly and forced her eyelids to open, to look at Sebastian. "It's as beautiful as you.." She whispered deliriously, her mind affected by the cold. But the bright light... the cover. She knew it was so lovely just by how it made him smile. "Even if I freeze I won't die Sebastian... I just don't... I don't want to freeze. To be locked away from you even more then I am."

Sebastians response to Snow was delayed rather than immediate. He found something, his eyes quickly read the page over, and placed the book face down. Quickly he put his fingers under the gloves and tried pulling them off whilst speaking the words of power he found.

"Here and now, I envoke the elemental force of Water, the fluid of infinite shapes and forms. Flowing source of adaptability, emotion, and life. I seek the pure spring within that I might drink deep of change, relationship, nourishment, and grace. I call you.. I call you forth to wash away all that needlessly binds and to move fluidity in this world. Ocean and river. Ripple and rain. Water, I call thee hence!" Sebastian wasn't sure envoking Snows water form was a good thing, but it was better than watching her freeze to death. She had more options to survive and resist in water-form, he could at least be sure of that

"FUUUCK!" Alex's fists pounded down on the desk. His hands ripped through his mounded hair. He had been working on trying to chemically recreate the compounds he analyzed within Snow's blood, but it never held.

"WHY WHY WHY WHY WHY?!"

I believe, Alex, that your approach is flawed.

The blood is more complex than the water, Alex. We might find more answers starting with the source of the problem.

Alex's forehead was placed on the desk. His eyes opened, his eyelashes scrapping across the metal.

I've run many tests on the water. It seems to be broken down into two parts: Dihydrogen Monoxide and a celestial compound. I can't say foreign, but it's not earthly.

"What do you mean?"

I'm not sure myself. The  knowledge was mostly lost through time. But what I've come to collect, the compound is a fragmented collected of the celestial element aether. Aether is the core element of celestial creation.

"No no... I've heard of aether.. ether..." Alex admire the vial in the light of his monitors. "Aether... pure aether....."

Impure. And fragmented. But yes, Aether.

"If I can combine the fragments properly.... distill the water..."

We will have made the first step

"Let's get started, then"
