  Why DeBois?
  Eliza applied to many schools that were in the top ten. She settled on DeBois because she knew that they were among the best and granted her a good scholarship. It also helped that they were a long way away from Kansas and she would never have to go back.

  Persona: Eliza is very serious, and can appear cold and apathetic. Maybe even a little bit aloof and asocial. it.

  • She self-sabotages, usually without realizing it - ie she needs to learn some self care
  • It can be really hard for her to warm up to people, and yet she desperately needs one or two people to rely on.

  History: Eliza grew up in Kansas. During her childhood, she was a talkative kid who would always go on small rants about stuff that she learned. While this was sometimes encouraged by her family, sometimes it was met with apathy or even anger if they didn't like the facts. Her household was very religious, and some things she learned were contradictory to what the church believed. Still, all was fairly normal until she turned 13 and made two pretty big discoveries about herself. Both of these discoveries shook her relationship with her parents, and it was never really restored. Throughout her teenage years, she went through the foster system half a dozen times because her relationship with her parents was so rocky. She really focused on school throughout this time, knowing that she didn't have much else. She just knew that she wanted to go to a good college.

Fast forward a few years, and the family gets bigger with the adoption of Jada's older cousin, Nic, and Jada's birth. Jada gets a pomeranian for her fourteenth birthday and names him Feliz. He ends up coming with her to DuBois.

Appearance

✧ Appearance: Jada's on the shorter side, with her height falling at just around five feet & three inches. Even though she's slightly lacking in stature, she has a bit of defined muscle due to cheer. She has earlobe piercings and a tattoo of lignum vitae flowers (the official flower of Jamaica) along the back of her right shoulder, similar to this. She has dark brown eyes. She also has naturally curly, black hair that falls just below her shoulders. She likes to switch up the way her hair is styled (down, in a single braid, in buns, etc).
