Abilities:
- Unique weaponry: From a young age, Nobu has learned that the Takahashi clan stores an infinite amount of weaponry from katanas to spears. However, Nobu took it upon himself to master the usage of less-popular weaponry such as the Kyoketsu-Shoge and Sai.
- Battle/ War planning: Because the Takahashi clan is vital in ensuring the passageway of the Floating Realm does not allow anyone or anything that is unauthorised cross from Ametsuchi and Ukiyou, they have also taken upon themselves to ensure Plan A-Z, if chaos were to wreck, will not allow any form of compromise.
- Spiritual training: Since Nobu has been reeled in by his father into the politics of the Tadashi family, he made it a point to use his free time to train and avoid spending time with his family strengthen his spiritual sights.
- ‘Street contact’: Because his ‘businesses’ (Refer to Misc. He has to have some trash in him. X)) requires import, export, buyers and sellers, Nobu Takahashi has made it a point to retrieve any and every contact information (that is useful) he can get as to harbour information and possibly, solicit help if needed.
- Persuasion and compromise: Nobu is an expert in cutting deals, compromises and convincing others to alter their frame of mind by convincing them that he has altered his frame of mind (even by the slightest).
Reason for contract:
"Look, having an Ayakashi contracted to you brings you a lot of advantages, especially to my businesses, heh. But on a more serious note, slowly remedying this idiotic family politics could start with Kassh."
Reason for wanting the Ground Cherry:
“It’s a secret but if you must know- BRING ME THE MONIES.”
- Nobu plans to actually hand the Ground Cherry to Kassh (the Ayakashi he is contracted to) since he owes him a debt for tricking him into contracting with him. But he also has no desire to own it for himself. He believes that Kassh would live longer than he will anyways (being able to live an immortal life would be rather painful after awhile), he might as well invest it in his best friend.
Stance on Ayakashi:
"They're so weird and cool at the same time. One time, I saw an Ayakashi with its eyes up his- Fine, I won't say it but isn't it cool to just be something other than human too? They live long, they have another form of themselves, they have magical abilities. Plus, they know firsthand what discrimination feels like. I mean, what's more to like about them? (Other than that one Ayakashi that decided to be a jerk and disrupt my shipment plans, hmph.)"
Appearance:
Nobu stands at 6 feet and an inch tall (approximately 185 centimetres) which showcases his most prominent feature which are his slightly long but toned torso. He would describe his body type as ‘fit but not bulging pectorals’. His shoulders are broad but not broad enough to have trouble with his attires. Speaking of which, he is usually seen wearing grey robes that are adorned with his long infamous golden yellow and green outer vest-scarf.
His hair is a chestnut brown that is usually kept in an unruly fashion with locks of hair curling ever so slightly at the tips. Nobu has also kept a bunch of hair on the back of his head that reaches mid-back for reasons unknown to many, refusing to have it cut off.
Personality:
The most distinctive quality of Nobu’s is his flair for defiance and stubbornness. From a young age, Nobu realised that following through orders and responsibilities was one thing but that could not stop him from having another life outside the clan. So much so that he has a few ‘businesses’ of his own under one alias- Souma 颯, which translates to ‘sound of the wind’. He is also rather cunning or street-smart in his way, whether for his businesses or having to sweet talk his way to the workers at his home as to not alert his father of his whereabouts or doings. However, one could also describe Nobu as fun and humourous in the matter of thoroughly enjoying himself as well as the company of others on any given moment or time.
He enjoys the company of others and hates being alone most of the time, as such, one might even call him clingy (even though he wouldn’t admit it). Despite giving off the impression of being irresponsible due to his defiant nature, Nobu recognises and distinguishes his duties to his clan and his people as well as to himself. One could also consider Nobu a rather lazy individual but he does have a soft-spot for those who are at a disadvantage of getting a task done (again, without admitting it).
A trait that can be seen as both positive and negative is his overprotectiveness. His relationships are usually based on the foundation on him requiring a contact or help in the future, however, once he deems someone an ally, he will make sure they are as far away as possible from getting hurt. Another core trait of Nobu is his general friendliness as he is usually seen with his infamous side grin.
Background / History:
Nobu Takahashi was born into a rather large family of five children from his grandfather, Katashi Takahashi. His grandfather was married twice as his first wife had passed away shortly after giving birth to her second child, Nobu’s father. Katashi’s second wife was the daughter of one of his workers. It was quite a disgrace to marry a non-nobel but the Takahashi clan concealed it as a lost nobel’s child being discovered after having finally come home.
Nobu’s father and his grandfather’s first child was unhappy with the decision that was boiled down. Politics were bound to occur in families but this, they saw as blasphemy- a matter of legitimacy. As such, the tension between the children of Nobu’s grandfather grew stronger as the years passed by. It was only a matter of time before Katashi was to pass away of old age. As such, from a young age, Nobu had to undergo numerous training and protocols but at a more strenuous speed. In the words of Nobu’s father: “Before they beat you, you should have already taken them down.”
It didn’t help that the number of Onmyoujis were dwindling from various causes. Not many stepping up to the plate, some even refusing to stay within the Takahashi family because of its politics. Nobu’s father saw this as an opportunity. If Nobu could help in restoring the once glorious clan, maybe the end of illegitimacy would end. Even Nobu’s younger sister had run away, married a member of the Urushizaki clan illegitimately. But Nobu was going to end this nonsense, one way or another.

- Nobu’s ‘businesses’ aren’t fixed on any scale. He describes it as ‘giving the hand that pays what they want’- Basically, he can get almost anything you want from and/or across other clans without extra fees and sometimes, can even come across rare items.
- He despises tea with a fiery passion. “You literally dump leaves into water and drink it. Why not mash vegetables and drink it while you’re at it?” Is his usual statement.
- He loves dark chocolate, not too sweet and not too bitter.
