I actually rewrote this scene & I'm so happy with it, lol but there was a bit of surprise when we realized we wrote four of the exact words (like same context and everything, friggin crazy). I can tell ya we didn't plan that!

Idk. I don't think he's either. He lacks manipulative and narcissistic behavior associated with a psychopath and the impulsiveness of a sociopath.

Actually there's a poorly defined difference between sociopathy and psychopathy. But it tends to be agreed upon that while neither one experience emotions and form bonds quite like other people, psychopaths are better able to pretend like they're normal, while sociopaths aren't interested in acting like anyone else. Also, some sources say that sociopaths can form bonds and feel some sort of empathy, albeit only in narrow situations and to only very specific people, while psychopaths never do. By those definitions Kais is definitely a sociopath.


On the other hand, sociopaths are supposed to be more impulsive and less organized than psychopaths, which doesn't describe Kais at all. Also, it's often said that psychopaths are born and sociopaths are made--usually through abuse, etc, during childhood. Kais had a reasonably uneventful (if unsociable) childhood, so by that he should be a psychopath.


So @whitefoxkiller is right; he's not really either, but is a bit of both.





Of course, by the above definitions, Sherlock isn't really a sociopath, either, for most of the same reasons.

I would just like to say! you guys are lovely and respectful people and thats awesome. I've been on Rpnation for a while (different accounts, this one isn't my first) and I think Rpnation has gotten kind mean in some places (which is why I stick to roleplays with people I know mostly) but you guys are very nice, very civil. And I just love that so much. I mean, Raizel actually told us he was leaving, how class-act is that?

I've seen this happen so often lately on RpN it's kinda crazy. Early last year when I joined I rarely came across this, and when I came back I found it everywhere. Mostly why I haven't joined a lot of RP's cause... damn... who wants to deal with that kinda bs?? ( ) I'm happy we're a bunch of civil minded Rpers.
