Roleplay Start

August 20th, 2024

The day was pretty warm, though the streets were crowded as usual. Ian sighed as he made his way through the streets towards his school. He wished he could just fly above all the madness, but because he lived in a human town, and there were restrictions on flying he could do no such thing, instead he kept his wings as close to him as he could, which was rather hard because of the fact that his wings were around 20 feet in length.

Long Description, just a fair warning!

---------------------------------------------

Year: 2607

Date: September 27

Time: 23:00

On this day we've created the perfect specimen, part human, part bird. Its quite amazing really. Though we have no idea how long it will live, it may live to be only a few weeks. Then again that's what the testing is for.

Maybe we can find a way to make these hybrids live like normal humans...maybe they'd be more productive, polluting the world less. We will never know unless we try.

-------------------------------

The above paragraph is from the journal of Dr. Linora Stevens, a successful doctor, and physicist. She wasn't tied to any specific university or facility, she worked on her own.

The Human-avian hybrids live a long time, longer then the average human. They have extraordinary eyesight, agility, and have wing spans of 15-20 feet.

The hybrids, other wise known as Arvion, are rather peaceful people, who dislike conflict...most of the time. There are some Arvion who were very dangerous, thus giving the race a bad reputation.

Since it has been nearly 500 years since the Arvion were created, they have adapted to the world, and the humans have gotten used to the flying version of themselves, and even have gotten married.

When a human and an Arvion have children its about a 25% chance that the child will have wings. Though as more and more hybrids have children, the more and more that number goes down.

--------------------------------------------------------------

What the Rp is about:

You are living in modern day Earth. Arvions and humans live together happily. You can be either human or Arvion, and on a day to day basis there are new encounters, whether it be enemies, romance, or even crime.

Lately, the human leader and the Arvion leader have been getting into a lot of fights, which might lead to separation, racism, and hate towards the two races.

Before that happens, make the most of your life!

-----------------------------------------------------------------

Arvions:

Arvions are taller then most humans, ranging from 6' to 7' though there are many who are normal size of 5'-5'10. They are light-boned so that its easier for them to fly. Their wing span is 15-20 feet in length, and they can fold their wings so that they aren't in the way. Arvions can fly at will, but can only fly for around 2 hours before they must take a break, and an Arvion who is sick cannot move its wings.

Humans:

Standard everyday human

Half-bred:

Half-breeds can have wings, or no wings. The majority of them are normal human heights, and are light-boned as well. They do tend to get sick easy, and their wings are only about 10-13 feet in length. They get tired easily.

---------------------------------------------------------------

Arvion:

Half-bred:

Note the wing size on the half-bred is much smaller then the Arvion.

If you have any questions feel free to ask, I don't bite!

The basic idea is something like this:

The_City_of_Future_by_e_designer.jpg

Though there are a lot of wasteland areas, where the humans and Arvions alike refuse to go.

Those areas look like this:

500x_cities0.jpg

and are usually where the worst criminals go for death sentences.

1) Let's be literate

Example of a good post:

He sat down on the cold ground and fanned out his wings in annoyance, "Do you really have to be such a pest?" he asked the girl in front of him.

Example of a bad post:

He sat down, "do you have to be a pest" he aked, the gurl in frnt of him.

See the difference?

2) Be considerate

Would you want someone saying that you are being stupid? Or that your character is a Mary Sue (when in reality it is not)? Yeah, I thought not. If you don't want it done to you, then don't do it to them.

3) Curse words allowed

Just but an * for vowels please. Example: Sh*t

List of words that do not need a *:

Damn

Hell

4) Romance

Romance is allowed, including Gay or Lesbian couples, I'm cool with that, but please fade out if it goes that far. You know the RpN rules, follow them!

5) Follow RpN Rules

Do I have to explain? Follow the rules you agreed to when you signed up.

6) Be active

I don't want the Rp to die, also, if you read the rules put the word Watermelon at the end of your post, otherwise I will not accept it.

7) Have fun

Enjoy the rp!

If you read the rules put Unicorns at the end of your post!!

Shumei was thrown into the brick wall by his apartment for the second time this morning, the corner of his lip was already bleeding and his hand slightly bruised after one of the Half-Breeds stepped on it. He didn't groan or moan in pain once, and was actually smiling most of the time as the Half-Breeds gave up and walked away towards school, where Shumei was heading in the first place. He stumbled onto his feet again, coughing up a bit blood as he wiped the blood trailing down his cheek from his lip and grabbed his black shoulder bag, brushing off some dust. "Just the same old routine. They beat me up, laugh and then leave. I don't get how they can feel any sign of achievement out of throwing me into a brick wall twice in one day," Shumei thought to himself and sighed as he straightened his black cardigan and ruffled through his dark red hair, hoping that most of the blood wasn't visible for anyone to see. The last thing he wanted was attention.

Shumei kept walking with his head down, and coughed occasionally as he made his way through the crowds and closer out on the main street. Most of those gave him stern glares, that Shumei completely ignored, and others ignored him as if he was never there from the beginning. He didn't meet the eyes of anyone, as he continued making his way through the crowds of people. It only lasted a few minutes
before Shumei who was rushing to school was tripped, making him fall flat onto the ground, as most of the people around him laughed. His hands took most of the fall, but as his hand was already bruised, it bled more, making Shumei slightly flinch, but he hid it from sight as they would only laugh more if he showed any sign of pain. Shumei looked up to see a known face of one of the Half-Breeds that had attacked him earlier, but didn't say anything, just looked back at him with an unfazed expression on his face, as the Half-Breed left him alone.

Ian watched the whole thing happen at the school with the human boy and the half-breeds, he glared at the half-breds before walking over to the human and holding his hand out to him, "Here, you look pretty beat up," he said. He honestly found it disgusting when half-breds or Arvions hurt humans or the other way around. It sickened him to no end.

Shumei watched as the half-breed finally left him alone, it wasn't a normal routine for them to bother him twice in one day. Even though it was to be expected, the brick wall probably didn't give them enough satisfaction from beating him up, as the brick wall did most of the work. He listened to the others laugh at him, pointing and whispering their small rumors and giggling. "I find it funny how they always laugh and whisper, as if I cannot already imagine what they are already saying. It's no secret that I am hated, so I don't get why they just don't say it to my face. I don't get people at all," Shumei thought to himself as he grabbed the bag he had dropped, looking over at his hand as some blood dripped on his books, as he placed them neatly back into his bag. He was about to make an attempt of standing up, but a hand was reached out for him beat him to it.

Shumei looked up with his one visible emerald colored eye, scanning the Arvion standing in front of him, holding out his hand.
"I do not need your help, nor did I ask for it," Shumei answered the Arvion, as he tried to stand up, but his hand gave him no support at all and he fell back down on the ground, making a couple of people laugh more. He looked over at his hand, seeing that the bruises were worse than he thought, but what did he expect after it was first stepped upon and now scraped by the pavement? He sighed, and looked over at the hand that the Arvion stretched out for him, hesitantly taking it with his good hand, letting him pull him up from the ground. "I do not want you to get involved with me. I'm bad company, find someone else to help out. If I ever want your help in the future, then I'll ask for it," Shumei told the Arvion as he looked for something in his bag to cover up his hand with, not wishing for his teacher to worry once again, but it seemed as no matter what he did his teacher would always worry. It's better to reject him now, so that I don't need to bother doing it later. The less people I know, the better.

Ian raised an eyebrow, his usual smile pulled into a slight frown as he looked over the human in front of him, "You're in pretty bad shape you know, I can tell from here that you bruised your hand pretty badly, do you want me to take you to the nurse's office?" he asked, completely ignoring the human's words, as he didn't really believe that this human (who hasn't introduced himself) was really bad company, but that he just thought that because of the times he's been messed with.

Xander Brooks

"Good morning Mr.Xander." The receptionist greeted while looking up from her desk. Xander had his usual smile on and, of course, a dark blue suit. He waved at the receptionist and ,after a small chat centering around today's weather, he walked towards the changing rooms. His nurse uniform was inside the locker marked as XB. "I should probably wash it soon, it already begins to smell like an old man..." He thought while putting it on. The uniform had a couple of pins: One of them with the classic yellow and black smile, another one with radiating sun and the last one was the peace & love symbol. He hanged his suit inside his locker and then exited the changing rooms.

After he entered the recreation room it was only a matter of time before the children were already surrounding him. A bright smile appeared on his face as he crouched in front of them so that they were at the same height. "So kids, what fun activities will we be doing today?" The children chanted at the same suggestions. Reading a book. Xander couldn't help himself but to chuckle. "Oh kids, if you keep choosing that one we will soon ran out of books! Come on, lets go." He incorporated himself and walked over to a chair, the children following him like small ducklings. Xander picked up a random book and sat on the chair. The children became silent. Xander cleared his throat and slowly began to read them the tale.

Isabel sat outside her Foster Home. She was almost an adult and still hadn't been adopted. And soon, in one year, she would be an adult and be able to go out into the world and live out on her own. In one year she would be free to fly wherever she wanted. God did she want to fly. Isabel placed her chin on her hands, and her elbows rested on her knees. She was waiting until it was clear. She was waiting until she could fly without anyone noticing. Around dinner time she would eat quickly and then while everyone else was eating, she would go outside and fly into it was time for lights out. Her wings were restless and she wanted to unfold them and let them stress, but she couldn't out in the open. Because then she would be called a freak.

She yawned and rubbed the tired out of her eyes as she waited. Of in the distance, she saw two figures. "Maybe I could get to know some people while I wait." She said, standing up.

Flora twirled as she made her way to school. She wasn't really liked all that much but it was better then being alone in her small apartment all day. She hummed and begin to sing about a fish and a bird who fell in love. She had woken up in a very good mood this morning and had know today was going to be a very good day...or so she hopped. Flora spread her wings a little, maybe she wouldn't get int trouble today for not wearing dress code. She hated those stuffy uniforms and had always went dressed ready for a ball. She keep walking lost in her own world, not seeing the other boys on the street. Her wings brushes one of the boys and she begin to fall. "Ahhhh..." She tried to catch herself but it was too late and she was on the ground. "S-sorry!" She flailed to get up, her face hot.

"Is he deaf or something? I already told him that I do not need his help, and if I needed it, I can manage fine on my own. What a stubborn person," Shumei thought as he pulled out a handkerchief from his small shoulder bag, and began clumsily tying it around his hand as it was difficult with one hand. The Arvion was probably just acting nice towards him anyway, hoping to get on his 'Good Side' and then push him down the stairs, or close him inside a room for days. Shumei had already done that, it wasn't happening again as he had learned from his mistakes. "If I need your help I'll ask for it. This is nothing," Shumei said once again to him, still not knowing his name, but was happy that he knew as little as possible about the Arvion in front of him, there was a few others that gave him a couple of stern looks that Shumei was talking to him in the first place, but Shumei ignored their glares.

However, Shumei was suddenly hit by another person rushing their way, making him fall to the ground once more. He was already feeling slightly dizzy, and the half-breeds had hit him pretty hard earlier, so holding his balance was harder than he thought. He looked over tot he Arvion and sighed, of course it had to be an Arvion to rush him down.
"Don't think about it, I'm used to it," Shumei reassured her and got up on his feet on his own, despite his bleeding hand wincing as he barely managed to stand up properly, coughing up some more blood in his hand. "This is getting annoying, there's two of them here already. Was this the plan all along? Getting more and more of them here and then corner me? They are getting smarter, I'll give them that. If only I would stop coughing, then I could get going," Shumei thought as he continued to cough into the poorly tied handkerchief around his hand.

"Oh my goodness, did I do that!" She was panicked at the blood and pulled out some gaze out of her bag. "I-I so sorry! I didn't think I hit you so hard." She held out the gaze to him, tears begin to pool in her eyes. What a klutz she was, first day and she had hurt someone. She stood looking very worried about him. He seem to need a real doctor and she was scared what if he died because of her. "D-Don't die!" Flora's voice cracked as she looked at him.

Ian sighed and looked over the very stubborn human, He's extremely stubborn isn't he? he thought to himself as he stood up, and picked up the human, "I'm taking you to the nurse, you obviously aren't ok," he said, before placing him gently on his back and walking to the nurse's office, that was just down the hall. He got a few glares from the other Arvions and half-breeds, in which he returned ten fold, making them back off. Jeez, I wonder what's making everyone hate him.

Shumei stopped coughing, catching his breath again before he looked over to the girl, she was flailing around and panicking more than a usual person would. "It can't be that bad, no one else seems to care about it, so it can't possibly look that bad, can it?" Shumei thought as he looked over to her once more, examining her with his one visible emerald colored eye, hearing her voice crack as it almost brought a smile to his lips, but he remained unfazed by it, he wouldn't be as lucky and die. Not here, not right now, he felt very much alive and nowhere close to dying. He had been through worse, and frankly today was one of the best days except from the bad cough he got after one of the half-breeds kicked him in the stomach after throwing him into the wall.

"Do not concern yourself with me, I am- Wha... What are you doing?" Shumei was about to reassure the girl that had recently joined in their group as he was picked up from the ground by the other one, not even getting the chance to object before he was carried away towards the nurse's office. "I- I said I am fine. L- Let me down!" Shumei said stubbornly, coughing as he shouted ever so slightly too loud for his own voice's sake, as he was too busy coughing to pick up the glares they got as they passed through the halls, but he was already used to it. Does this guy not understand? I am only bringing him misfortune, why can he not leave me alone? I can walk on my own, I'm just coughing. It's almost as if I am a dying person. I don't understand him at all... Shumei thought, slightly flailing around on the Avrion's back, but made sure to not flail too much to make them both fall to the ground.

She gave a small laugh as the boy was picked up, the nurse office huh well she would follow them just to see if the boy would be ok. Flora skipped after them, smiling at the glaring people. Why were people so mean, there was nothing wrong with either of the boys she was walking with. "I am concerned with you, I mean I fell on you and you started coughing blood, how could I not be worried." She smiles at him. "To the nurse we go!"

"....and then they lived happy ever after. The end." Xander said as he closed the book. He jokingly bowed as the children began clapping. "Thank you, thank you very much. You have all been a wonderful audience! Now, if you would excuse me, I need a cold beverage." The children nodded as they moved towards the center of the room and began playing with the toys that were laying around. Xander went to the corner of the room, where there were some drink and snack bending machines. He placed the dollar bill into it, pressed the buttons and after the cola dropped he sat down on a nearby chair, looking over at the children. There were three Arvions and two half-breeds in the group. At first they always seemed to stay away from the group, but after countless attempts by Xavier they finally began to get along. "It makes me sad to think that out there some of them get discriminated....But if kids this young are able to look past these differences then so can adults." He took a sip from the can.

Christian sighed as he walked through the noisy crowd of humans trying to get to where they needed to be. He wore a bright colored purple t-shirt that had two slits where his wings stood out freely, his brown cardigan was wrapped around his waist. I really dont feel like going to classes today.. he thought to himself. He reached a hand up and began to twirl a purple strand of his hair. He spread one of his wings out slightly and walked into a grocery store for his daily watermelon snack. He walked through the automatic door and went straight to the fruits, getting a box of watermelon cubes and going to the register to pay for it. "You really like watermelons.." The old human man chuckled "Yeah, pretty obvious." Christian chuckled as he paid, he came here everyday. He had gotten another box on the house which made him even happier today, he just hoped his happiness wouldnt get ruined today. He walked out the store with the bag in hand and went towards a tall building, slipping around back he spread his wings and flew up the side of the building easily. He sat on the roof and began to eat his watermelons in relaxation, spitting his seeds out on the side of the roof.

Shumei sighed as he understood his efforts of getting out of this situation was useless, and as two Arvions were already gathered around him, even running away from them now would be impossible. They could easily catch up with him in the air, and if he was unfortunate enough maybe they would fly and drop him, he honestly didn't get why they were so concerned with him, where they really bringing him to the nurse or where they hoping to lock him inside a room, and then he had to wait for the janitor the next morning again, it would honestly be twice this week and he didn't like running late on working on his new book. "I honestly don't want to go to the nurse, I already wrapped my hand up, and I was coughing earlier, at the very least I could go on my own," Shumei thought as they brought him inside the nurse's office, as she turned around and they were immediately met with a worried look on her face.

"What happened this time Shumei? Have you not realized you need to be careful?" The nurse asked, looking over to Flora and Ian and her usual gentle smile reappeared on her face, as she gestured to Ian to place Shumei down on one of the nearby beds. "I walked out the door," Shumei answered the nurse, as she looked a bit around for her first aid kit. The nurse only sighed as she looked over to Shumei, not exactly happy with his answer, before she turned to Flora and Ian again. "Who might this be Shumei? Have you gotten some new friends?" She asked happily, her voice sparkling with hope. "I ran into them. They insisted on bringing me here. I have no clue who they are. Feel free to leave," Shumei said as the nurse looked surprisingly over to Shumei, but didn't say anything. "Thank you for bringing him to me, you did a good job. Do any of you know what happened?" She asked as she turned to Ian and Flora, giving up on getting an answer out of Shumei. "I said they could leave. It's a hint that they should just go. I'm none of their responsibilities, and the less they get involved the better. It's not as if I am dying," Shumei thought and began coughing more, as he sat up on the bed, ready to leave the office once he got the chance.

The nurse seemed really nice and Flora smiled back at her before looking over to the boy on the bed. "I'm Flora! And well I was just walking to school when I bumped into him ad he started coughing blood! I didn't do much but follow them here but you're welcome. Is he going to be ok, I didn't think I ran into him that hard but I wasn't paying attention and ohhh I'm not usually such a klutz. Will h-he be ok?" She looked worried at the boy, why did he seemed to know the nurse so well and why did he seem so sad. Flora sighed at least she would be getting out of first period, she really disliked the teacher and was glad to get away.

Ian set Shumei on the bed, and took a step back to talk to the nurse, crossing his arms over his chest, "He was getting bullied by two half-breeds, they hurt him pretty bad, I suggest checking him over thoroughly," he said, with an uncharacteristically serious look on his face. "If you need me to, I can escort him to class, he may not have noticed but I have all the same classes as he does," he said, shooting a side glance at Shumei.

The nurse walked over to Shumei and gently hit his head with a small notepad, before she began examining Shumei. "Do not worry Flora, this does not look like anything that-" The nurse stopped as Shumei sent her a quick glance, not wishing for her to bring it up in front of the others as she only sighed and began unwrapping the handkerchief he had tied earlier around his hand, looking at the bruises. "I can walk on my own. I don't need to be escorted," Shumei objected to the Arvion's request, as he coughed a bit more. "Have you had this bad cough for long Shumei? Did you remember to take the medicine I gave you last week?" She asked as she rummaged through a couple of drawers and cupboards, looking around for more bandages and a couple of pain killers, even though Shumei had gotten some earlier. "Could one of you be a dear and grab the box on top of that shelf? It seems to be out of my reach," She asked them a bit embarrassed, walking back to Shumei and continued the examination.

"I'm fine. I've tried to tell them that for the last walk we shared, but they won't listen. This is nothing," Shumei answered, as she gave him another light hit on the head, frowning. "That sounds like a great idea... Ian was it? Shumei should definitely not walk alone, but he simply will not listen to me. Oh, and you are coughing blood Shumei, that is far more than nothing. You need to take it easy, I'll give you some bandages for your hand, remember to change them often at least ever other hour. Oh and Shumei, are you sure you don't want to speak to the principal about this?" She asked concerned, as Shumei grabbed the bandages and put it in his bag, coughing a bit more before he walked towards the door once again. "I appreciate your help, but I am fine on my own. The principal won't do anything, we've talked about this before. Just stop bothering me," Shumei said as he walked towards the door, stumbling a bit as he walked.

Freyja was sitting at her working table as is the usual for this time of day. It was the one work table she had by the front door in case a customer came in. In front of her was a naked porcelain doll with an unpainted face, its clothes layed out next to her for when she needed to put them back on. The paint was drying on the arms while Freyja slowly started at the dolls face. It looked sad, like they all started to look. But she couldnt help that it looked that way. She tilted her head as she examined the doll, her hair tied back in a long ponytail. She had her sleeves rolled up and the frills bunched up on her elbows. "We really need to work on your pout.." She sighed and gently put the doll down, it was so quiet in this place. She sometimes wondered if she should get a dog. She stood up and dusted her dress off at the chest since the apron caught everything else. Her wings stretched from the long period of time in the chair, their black feathers ruffling slightly. She walked over to the mini fridge and grabbed something to eat. No customers would probably be coming in today.
