Idle Arrangements: [Four Factions ]

+ I would like to get a retinue of demons/elementals from my Ally. I'm not sure how much I can start with, but whatever I can't start with I'll just start summoning during the game. They are listed in the order I want them in.

- 1 Perronele (armor demon, for myself)

- 1 Sesseljae (healing demon, for myself)

- 1 Wood Spider (set to stealthily move around me and keep an eye out for OTHER dematerialized spirits)

- 2 Perronele (for my Circle)

- 2 Sesseljae (for my Circle)

+ Also, I would like him to put some wards on our Necrotech-Factory, if that does exist.

+ My Nemissary will be watching when I sleep with orders to possess anybody unauthorized. If they are alone, they will come in and politely wake us up to be dealt with. If they are in the group, the perceived leader will be targeted and advise his people "to go back, now is not the right time, we're just here for intel, etc. etc." If unable to convince them, he will use that body to alert us of their presence.

I would like to start off with a number of Necrotech Creations. Coil Ranks are essentially the complexity of each creation, with 5-6 being the average ability of Abyssal Necrotechnicians. I have a crew of two skilled Ghost-Blooded Necrotechnicians/Necromancers, and twenty Ghost Necrotechnicians.

I would like the following constructs:

-10 Dead Brachial Sapping Arrays (Coil Rank 2)(p. 207 MEP: Abyssals)

-15 Alarm Wolves (Coil Rank 3)(p. 207 MEP: Abyssals)

-2 Soliloquys (Coil Rank 3)(p. 208 MEP: Abyssals)

-16 Arm Spiders (Coil Rank 3)(p. 209 MEP: Abyssals)

-8 Meat Puppets (Coil Rank 4)(p. 210 MEP: Abyssals)

-5 Battle Snakes (Coil Rank 4)(p. 212 MEP: Abyssals)

The Sapping Arrays are all linked together and kept in reserve for possible siegeworks.

The Alarm Wolves are split up among the forces, with 5 in the Manse.

The Soliloquys are kept in reserve for possible trap opportunities.

The Arm Spiders are cavalry units.

The Meat Puppets are simple, strong units.

The Battle Snakes are transports, they are all linked together to carry up to 360 Zombies or similar-sized units.

If these numbers are too much/too little, I will adjust.

@hammercro:

The biggest problem I see is still being "on the run" which:

1) limits the availability of a lab.

2) limits the types of necrotech that followed you since you left the Lover.

I'm assuming you somehow managed to set up a basic lab around Marama's Fell, and brought all your creations from there to the Chasm, whee you are currently.

I'm ok with your choices and numbers, with the exception of the battle snakes due to lack of material.

If you want to dismantle the assault spine chains you can have all 10 of them, otherwise you'll have only five.

Btw, since you don't have an avatar, why don't you plug your chibi?

Well, fhgwdads05 is going to grab a manse with a laboratory. Failing that, I have the Resources for one.

As for the Necrotech we have, I'm thinking it would be leftovers from the forces we commanded before we angered the Lover. I'll stick with 5 snakes then.

Actually, I wanted to ask you about this xarvh. Would a Manse in the Chasm itself would be possible? And if it is, how plausible would tying a mini-Shadowland to it (by use of the manse power) be? Obviously, the Shadowland would be far too small for a permanent base of any sort, but the idea is for it to be a place of refuge of sorts for us. I've got a whole history and reasons for its existence thought up, if it helps.

And juuuust in case it matters, I decided that having one in Marama's Fell (at least an Abyssal Manse for necrotech) didn't make as much sense because of the location and the ownership conflicts between the Lover and the Bishop.

Either the Manse was there already, either you built it now.

In the former case, how did you conquered it, or how did it survive untapped for so long?

Especially considering that there are several Lunar and Terrestrial Exalted in the area (the Chasm is not this far from Tyresö).

In the latter, do you have the means to raise up a Manse in, say, a week?

This would also imply attracting a lot more attention from the mentioned Exalted in the area, that would end up at least knowing a lot about your Circle.

Yes, that would be more appropriate.

I would like you to detail better what do you want and how do you expect to get it (build vs conquer).

The Profane Crusader Armor is one of Shadows' own designs based off of observations she made of Lookshy's powered armor. She longed to recreate something similar for the forces of the dead. While Meat Puppets were sufficient for bowling through enemy forces, she wanted something that was tough. The Profane Crusader Armor is just that. It is somewhat larger than the average person and made of many layers of bone, muscle, and steel. The basic frame is made of a clever structure of bones and muscle much like the ribs. While it is not too flexible, it is sturdy and helps support the additional layers. The second and third layer is composed entirely of muscle from five to seven corpses. The fourth and fifth layer is where all the armor is situated. While Shadows initially used soulsteel for armor, the cost made the armor harder to produce and since she wanted to mass produce it, she switched to more mundane materials. The layered armor is heavier and less durable, but provides a similar level of protection. Each layer is made up of metal on a frame of sturdy but thin bone in triangular and hexagonal shapes. A soft material sits between the metal and bone, as well as in the empty space in the frame to absorb impacts. Depending on the quality of materials used, there are two to four layers of this armor. A poleaxe is used as the standard weapon so that the Profane Crusader Armor can share more components with the Meat Puppet. The armor is typically worn by war ghosts permanently grafted into the armor. Essence channelers can control the armor without problem, but the war ghosts require a more intimate connection. Regardless of who controls it, it is up to Shadows and her two Ghost-Blooded allies to reanimate the creation.

Not bad. Damn... Why did I buy Artifact Armor again? It seems like it may be better to go with a Necrotech creation instead.

hammercro, there are some point:

* With Stamina 2 you can pick Funereal Armor only twice.

* The armor should have no soak against aggravated (MEP p201)

Also, remember the manse counts only as basic lab, for a -2 external penalty to Necrotech rolls.

Uh.... I paid three Creation Points for a Master's Workshop because I thought that would equal a Master's Lab since it's for Necrotech alone. Since normal Workshops work for any and every type of Artifact thinkable (aside from Genesis), I think it might even be fair to consider it as a Flawless Laboratory considering that it's from the First Age and is based in a powerful Abyssal-aspected Manse tied to a Shadowland. If I need to add vats and such into the description I will. Otherwise.. Why are you ruling it as such?

hammercro, MEP p201, it is explicitly stated that hollow necrotech does not soak aggravated.

Point taken, Master's workshop is. =)

You are at the Chasm.

If you want to act there, I will open a scene thread for you guys.

Otherwise, just tell me how do you want to move.

At least two in the manse I'd say. Precise deployment, I'm not quite sure. I'm thinking they'd be mainly used for early warning to detect threats that our scouts can't.

There was some actions I wanted to take to solidify a base within the city, but it sort of seems almost like... background stuff, since it doesn't really involve any other PCs. Suggestions on how we go about this?

Hmm... Well, you could go with the good old traditional route and attempt to raise ancestor cults and/or gain control of those already in existence. It's probably not the most fitting way, and probably a bit obvious to those who understand the Underworld and such, but it could work.

Another idea would be to start cults associated with sensual experience. They could be places where citizens could indulgence in all sorts of illicit and semi-taboo acts, from wanton drug abuse to sexual depravity. This could also become somewhat more obvious with time (at least to those paying close attention to the morality of the citizens), however it may be less so at first. It also has the added benefit of running in line with the Lover's dogma, which may bring us more favor in her eyes should the cults develop and work as planned.
