The Hammer and Sickle held high in it's glorious orbit above what had once been the homeworld of the human race and was now just an irradiated ball of putrescence. It's people were happy enough, but what they needed was a true home and not to live out the rest of their natural lives in space. It was infuriating, but they just did not have the supplies to continue like this forever, they would have to branch out to some of the other space station, satellites and floating space structures.
Director Dimitri Sokolov sat firmly at his desk and fiddled with some paperwork. He was awaiting the other leader of this station and he did not like to be kept waiting. Especially by that woman of all people. She thought that she always knew best, just because she was a decorated war hero who was elected to her position of power and not part of the noble elite that was "elected" to their position of power. He began to just tap his fingers slowly on the desk. It was further infuriating that a person of his prestige was being kept waiting. He looked at the clock and it was still 5 minutes until the meeting time was scheduled for. Bah. She should still be following the times that he wanted. He was not the type to back down even in his own head when he knew he was wrong. Because he was never ever wrong. And those that thought so could take an accidental trip out the airlock.
People's Leader Yana Zolnerowich straightened her tie and placed her fuzzy hat firmly on her head. It was time to meet up with the Director and she as always needed to look her best. She had to get him to see reason, or at least think that the most reasonable course of action was thought up by him and not a suggestion by her.
She walked down the stark hallways, hearing the laughter of children and the sounds of men and woman drinking Vodka, just the way that things should be. She wouldn't want those times to come to an end. Which is why she needed to make this all work. So they can have a permanent home where they aren't in constant danger of running out of supplies if something went wrong.
Yana walked into the room and Dimitri put on a sour face. "You're late."
She looked at the clock and she was perfectly on time, but felt this meeting would go better if she satiated him so she put on her most apologetic looking face and spoke up. "Ah yes. I'm so sorry that I'm late. I just got caught up in an inspection of our supplies." She walked up to the desk. "It might be prudent to contact some of the other stations to ease the tensions between the civilians. Otherwise we might have to start cutting ration supplies."
"No. Out of the question. They are all our mortal enemies and must be continued to be treated as such." He seemed pretty adamant as he slammed a fist down on the table to prove his point.
"Well, what about contacting that science station of Oasis 3? They are only a small handful of scientists and they might prove very useful to our cause." She moved around to his side of the desk and started caressing his cheek. "And if they don't want to help us, we can always take what we want by force. Doesn't that sound wonderful?"
Dmitri's cheeks started turning red. It did sound like a good idea. He did like to use force. And what would a small group of scientists do against the full might of Soviet Russia. Yes. This sounded like a fantastical idea. "Yes. Good. You get on that. I need to go check our weapon stockpiles in case they don't want to see reason." He snickered as he ran off somewhere.
"Yes. I will do that, then." Yana smiled. That went far better than she could have hoped. She went off to the communication section to send a message to Oasis 3. "Oasis 3, this is the Hammer and Sickle requesting communications. We would like to set up trade. Please respond."
Actions: 1.Sending Message to Oasis 3 asking to set up trade
2. Having the troops check weapon stockpiles
3. Performing maintenance on shuttle craft.
