[IC] Act 3, Scene 1a : The game is afoot! [Creation is your oyster]

With just the wry grin Emerk flips his cards out of order: 10,King, Ace, Jack, Queen. Watching the worry build up on faces of the other players. Knowing they were working together, and quite good at that made them a more pleasurable set of marks. Emerk looks back to bar seeing Dujn has settled himself someplace else. Never a good sign.

-----

I’ll settle for 2 dice.

Dex+ Larceny + 2 dice

Tepet Emerk rolled the following in his 11 dice:

4, 1, 5, 3, 4, 9, 6, 1, 2, 3, 9

Using 7 as the target number, the roll resulted in 2 successes.

"Oh, well then, I guess I'll go ahead and fill you in first, as it were."

(I'm not too interested in writing up a sex scene, so lets just say Dujn gets lucky and move on from there.)

Emerk

There is a look of confusion at the revealing of cards. Especially since the trio playing with Emerk were certain that they had... set things up.

Which was when the female gambler frowned at the dragonblooded as he was scooping his winnings towards himself. "You cheated."

Dujn

Quite some time later, the pair of All-Seeing-Eye operatives rested in bed after their activities. "As you well know there are rumors of Satrap Mnemon Malon's... preferences to activities that would better suit a Cynis. All in all, nothing too worrying beyond blackmail material being used here and there."

Bunny waited for the slight nod from Dujn before she continued. "The problem is that reports from a well placed agent simply stopped after lady Malon hooked up with certain natives from further south. Attempts to place additional agents close to her in her palace have simply failed when they disappear as if never having even existed. Which means our network might be compromised in the region."

As he scoops all the coins to in front of him.â€My dear lady, If I had cheated you would not have noticed… unless perhaps you too had cheated, in which case the game was a game if skill of slight of handâ€A moment of pause Looking each on in the eyes. â€On to more pertinent questions, I could do well with some people of your skill in my employ.†Studying each person at the table as he mindlessly counts the coins into three even piles. â€But if you are not interested no worries, I do have a bit of urgent business.â€

Emerk rose from the table the money still on table.

"How many agents have we gone through already?" Tossing the covers aside and getting up out of the bed, Dujn reaches for his kimono and begins dressing himself.

"And, why pass this particular information to me? What are you hoping for?"

Emerk

"Not that we're disinterested, but what exactly would you want us for?" The young lady looked at Emerk with a raised eyebrow. "We play for money, we're not thieves or murderers just because we're outcastes."

Dujn

"Part of the problem is that with the agents who've been... vanished. Our operations in Yane and the Varang states are quite compromised," Bunny shook her head. "And what is... worse, I can not be certain that outside of the agents here in this building or various contacts I meet up with, that the others are not also compromised."

"Which comes down to what I would like you to do. Pass word back to the Realm. I understand that you might not be able to do so for some time... but it is vital that they know."

"It shouldn't be a problem to pass along a message. But, is that all the message you want to send? Any idea how the disappearances are happening? Or, who the visitors from the south may have been?"

Dujn finishes tying his kimono and pats himself down to check to make sure his belongings are all accounted for as well. "Or, if you have blackmail material, why not use it to remove her from her position and stop her interference?"

"A message is the best I can do at the moment," She shook her head as she slipped on her waitress outfit after cleaning herself up. "As for who the visitors are... that information is still unknown. But One suspects that fey might be involved. As there is this... thing that seems to prevent people saying or thinking certain things..."

She shook her head. "Of course, I have this suspicion that whoever is compromising the network here is saving me for last due to my position as the head of local operations."

"Bah, murderers and thieves are dime a dozen, and easy to find. No, What I want is a team of eyes and ears, who can read people, and run an occasional errand and rumor monger." a slight grin "Most importantly the must be able to do it in style. keep your eyes and ears open. I have some errands I have to run myself that will take me out of the city for a while." Gesturing to the pile of money in front of him. "there will be more to come, if you accept, if you want just consider it as side work for a little extra"

"Then run. Run and hide so you can come back stronger. This isn't exactly an honorable line of work; people like us aren't remembered when we're dead."

Dujn reaches up one of his sleeves and retrieves a small pouch, which he places on the bedside table. "Maiden tea." is all he says.

Pausing with his hand on the door, he turns around and says, "I'll have the missive on its way within a few hours. If you're in need of an unknown agent, I could make myself available for up to three days at most. But, you'd need to let me know sometime today. I'm sure you're capable enough to find me if you need to." And with that, Dujn opens the door to the noisy pub. "Till we meet again." he says with his back turned, while making his way back to his spot at the bar. He lays down cash on the bar, enough to cover his tab, plus an appropriate tip.

Looking around the pub, Dujn checks to see how Emerk made out in his game. Assuming he's still there, and not dead, Dujn snatches a peanut from the bar and flicks it at his head to get his attention across the room. A small wave signals that Dujn's on his way out now, whether Emerk was leaving too was up to him.

Emerk

"Are you... are you seriously trying to pay us with our own money?" A quirked eyebrow rose at Emerk before the money was... vanished by the trio. "We'll think about it, Realm man. Nothing more. Your friend seems to want your attention."

With a smile and a nod Emerk stepped from the table. Waves back to Dujn indicating he is ready to leave too as he walks towards the way they came in."You look well a bit better than you did coming in not so mopy"
