Viewpoint I want to do ALL of the RPs

I try to remind myself that I made commitments to other people and that it would be unfair to jeopardize our story/game by overburdening myself or burning myself out by taking on more roleplays. It's not the funnest way to temper temptation, but commitment and discipline are rarely sexy. :P
Nah, that's good though. That is a big part of why I try to control myself lol. It's not fair if I slack on the people who have already committed to writing with me no matter how much I want to.

I remind myself of the RPs/real life commitments that I already have and consider the level of busyness that would arise if I joined more. It would be unfair to everyone if I couldn't commit time to everything just because I joined something on a whim and ended up stretching myself thin.

In terms of activities, I try to keep a good amount of hobbies both creative and not. Shows/movies, and books are all good for scratching that media consuming itch while video games provide interactivity. Visual novels and RPGs are especially fun if you want to focus mainly on story.
Yeah, a lot of people seem to agree with your first point, and I agree with it as well. As far as hobbies, I have others as well. I just get stuck on things to the point where I don't want to do anything else at all. It's a me problem. I get tunnel vision. I need it all now now now lol.

I feel you. It's like an itch you really need to scratch, isn't it?

I've already seen a lot of suggestions I would have pointed out so I can't add much, but what you said about needing someone to bounce ideas off of for a complete story is sooo relatable.
Usually when I write my own stories, it ends up a disconnected web of different scenes because I don't know how to write the in-between events, only the ones I have inspiration for at a given moment. But working out how to stitch it all together into a finished product is kinda like a fun puzzle.

I do want to echo what others have said about planning replies ahead. You could have a document or something where you have your ideas down, and by the time you actually send those replies to your partner, they end up better than they would have been because you've had time to reflect on and improve them.

Another thing; if you're into art, maybe draw specific scenes out? Like, say, a mini comic of a particular interaction. I'm sure your partners would love it! I know I would. You could also go through a list of songs you like and see which ones have lyrics that would suit your characters, and make a playlist tailored to them. I reckon it also helps with developing your characters because you're forced to think about them from a new perspective, whether it be through drawing or music.

It is exactly that. That itch you really need to scratch that you just can't reach but is the only thing you can think about.

I can't draw to save my life but I absolutely LOVE the playlist idea. I don't know if it would work for all my RPs but I have one in particular that it would be amazing for, and I could incorporate it into the story as well. Thank you so much for the idea!

I’m glad this helped! I just wanted to add, I know what you mean about the tunnel vision, so you’re not alone. We just have to find the right back scratcher device for the itch, haha. Best of luck!
